After a successful infiltration mission (with a few hiccups), Silas had developed a tiny smidgeon of reputation. A taste, as you might say. Just enough that he wasn't considered totally incompetent. Thus he wasn't too surprised when he was given a call soon after the Klink grab to once more break-and-enter. This time, not to steal a pokemon, but to steal a crate of TMs.
Apparently the couple that used to live in Kanto, famous for their creation of the TM for Dig (and being targeted by Team Rocket in their home), had moved here to cheery Cherrygrove. The Kanto mission was a bust, but now was a new chance. They wanted those TMs and they knew the couple had a whole shipment of the things. Rumor had it they were going to be donated to local law enforcement. Of course, those were just rumors.
The brief for this mission wasn't extensive. He wasn't to harm the couple or cause too much collateral damage. The ideal scenario was to get in and get out with as little trouble as possible while acknowledging that there could be interference preventing an easy escape. He had to be ready to ensure the couple didn't meddle and stop any cops from doing the same. This could be their only real chance to grab that haul.
So he did some research. Scoped out the house. And waited for dark. And when dark came, he snuck around to the back, checked the windows to make sure nobody was in the room, before picking the lock.
Success!
However, getting in was often the easy part. He needed to be cautious, to not break too much or make too much noise. Nothing the neighbors could hear. So he let out his ekans, Slither, discreetly into the yard. He told her that if she saw any other people to use her Glare and to stun them into place so they couldn't scream or fight or cause problems. A harmless maneuver. They would be fine once the ekans left and the paralysis worked out of their system.
It was only then that Silas stepped into the house, and with the snake at his side, began to snoop around, searching for where that crate of TMs might be. He listened carefully as well, trying to figure out where the couple was so that he could avoid them as long as possible. But he knew that it likely wouldn't be long before he'd be relying on Slither to stun them and his investigation would be on a timer.

The Rookie Team Rocket grunt snuck into the quiet home of the Dig family, after their infamous Technical Machine for the nefarious mission. He was prepared to operate a quiet robbery in the dark of the night. He had an idea, and a plan, but he was disadvantaged by insufficient information from headquarter. They basically told him how to best take care of the plan, but not providing much information on the couple to help him device his burglary plan. However, sometimes, a little unexpected surprises would require changing plan a little. As Silas was using his hearing to detect the couple and his eyes to look for the crate of TM Dig, he would hear a quiet ripping of plastic bag, and maybe the sound of attempted quiet crunching. If he would look behind the kitchen counter, Mr. Dig was sitting on the floor biting on a package of snack in the quiet of the night. When their eyes do meet eventually, there was an awkward stare for a very good few seconds before Mr. Dig would call for his wife and his companion loudly. "HONEY? DUGTIRO?""SWEETIE? WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP LATE? ARE YOU WATCHING OUR SHOWS WITHOUT ME?" The wife shouted as she slowly leave the bedroom, holding a hand to cover her yawn as she approached the scene and turned on the light. First, her husband was eating snack instead without her, and then there was a stranger! "WHO ARE YOU?" Turning to her husband. "I THOUGHT YOU'RE CUTTING DOWN ON THIS SNACK LIKE WE'VE AGREED! THAT CEO'S WIFE MADE ME LOOK BAD AT THE BANQUET LAST YEAR!"They're a strangely affectionate couple having trivial argument, but suddenly, the ground between them busted open as the Dugtio revealed itself, and the ground type growled as it was ready to defend their family home from intruder!

Crunch crunch crunch.
It sounded like someone was having a snack in the kitchen. Silas peered over the counter and his eyes met those of the homeowner. He motioned for ekans to go around to Glare at him, but his cover was already blown. The owner called to his wife and dugtrio, almost awkwardly calm in this odd situation. And as soon as his wife was downstairs, the pair began to bicker over his late-night snacking habits. Apparently someone was on a diet and was cheating on said diet when Silas wandered in unannounced.
That was when Ekans popped up to paralyze the couple with her Glare. Be still and quiet!
Tugging his black Team Rocket hat lower over his face and hair, he stepped back, and was suddenly beset upon by a dugtrio! The guard dog, as one might say. Well. He had a superior hound at his command!
"Mercenary, silence this obstacle and minimize the collateral damage," he commanded. He wasn't supposed to make a fuss. So causing a fire big enough to alert the authorities was very much against the plan. Mercenary was a bit disappointed by the need to keep her flames small, but she could do it. With a growl and a howl, she let out a narrow jet of flames, right at the dugtrio, the scarf around her neck making her quite swift indeed, even compared to the speedy mole pokemon.
Silas used Merc's distraction to pull out some zip ties from his pockets. He needed to disable the old couple for now. Once that pesky mole was defeated and Slither caught the gazes of the pair to stun them, this should be a fairly easy task. At least those morons barely got a look at him in the dark and were too busy bickering to press him for answers once they got started arguing with one another.
Who argued when a burglar was in their house?
Where they so desensitized to robbery that they figured that he wouldn't hurt them as long as they didn't throw punches of their own? They were right, but still! Didn't the Team Rocket uniform, as stupid as it looked, strike fear into at least their former victims? How far had this band of merry idiots fallen into disgrace if their reputation was THIS lukewarm?
Clearly they needed some brains in their operation. Not that Silas was sticking around once he got what he needed. — Word Count: 407 (+400) | OOC: Flamethrower on Dugtrio Ekans uses Glare on homeowners as Silas attempts to subdue them. Time of day is Night

As the Dugtrio prepared to defend it's home against Silas the mole Pokemon had zero reason to believe it could not outpace a hound in battle and quickly started to dig a hole in the floor to ambush the hellhound. Unfortunately for the Dugtrio Mercenary was far faster than she appeared and the Choice Scarf she held further boosted her speed to such high levels that the young Dugtrio had no hope of outpacing it. Just as a hole started to appear in the floor Mercenary let loose a powerful Flamethrower scoring a direct hit. Seconds later the Dugtrio slumped over in front of the home owner and his wife. " WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO OUR BELOVED DUGTRIO? YOU MONSTER, I SHALL NOT LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS" As soon as he finished yelling however Ekans used her Glare attack to trap both him and his wife in a paralyzed state. The attack caused no harm to the humans and with time they would regain movement but for the time being Silas was free to search for the crate containing the TMs for Dig. It did not take long to find as the flames from Mercenary's Flamethrower partially burned a nearby rug with a small hole clearly visible to the naked eye. As Silas reached into the hole and grabbed the small crate an alarm started to go off inside the house. The hole had a hidden security system in it and as his hands broke the invisible laser connection it had triggered the alarm. As Mr. Dig was friends with numerous police officers in the area the alarm would bring the police straight to his house in no time at all. Less than a minute after setting off the alarm a Policemen who had been going for a walk a few houses down go the call on his radio about the break in and rushed to the scene. Officer Dean kicked down the front door and rushed towards Silas before he could make an escape. " Freeze thief, I want to see you hands, comply now or I will have my Growlithe force you to do so." He then grabbed the Pokeball containing the young fire type ready to toss it if Silas did not comply immediately. Silas swore when he realized he tripped the alarm. Time to get this crate out of this hole quickly. Unfortunately, his grip was apparently poor and it took him a few too many seconds to pull the wooden box out and get it tucked under his arm. As he managed to get a proper hold of the thing, the door burst open to reveal an officer.
He scoffed at the threat, as well as the little growlithe that he sent out to try to intimidate him. Mercenary padded to his side and growled.
<I am the bigger dog here> she mocked. <Nothing a little pup like you can do against me. Come closer and I will shake a proper sense of fear into you with my teeth.> The houndoom lifted her proud head, long horns gleaming as her spaded tail flicked. She looked quite fierce and devilish, a sleek contrast to the fluffy growlithe puppy trying to put up a good front for its master.
"I do not have time for this," Silas muttered. He tossed ball himself and revealed a wartortle. "Water pulse on that growlithe and the officer. Keep them from following." He turned and made for the door, leaving Aqua alone to stop the police from catching up with them. He was momentarily nervous. After all, it wasn't long ago that his master didn't think of him as very strong or useful. It wasn't until he took down that powerful bastiodon that Silas actually treated him like he was a capable fighter and worthwhile member of his team.
Aqua could not falter here and now. He had to trust his master's actions and choices. He had to follow orders for everything to work out. So he did as he was told, staying between Silas and the officer, blasting water pulse, after water pulse at the officer pair, suppressing their movement forward as best as he could manage. All the while, Silas returned his other two pokemon and retreated to the still open back door. He then dithered for a time, preparing a smoke ball he kept in his inventory for such an occasion.
If Aqua managed to get the officer distracted and his pokemon knocked out of commission, he could drop that smoke ball, return Aqua, and flee. But who knew if the officer had some tricks up his sleeve that would make escape harder than expected.... — Word Count: 400 (+400) | OOC: If possible, please use water pulse x2 on growlithe and the pikachu after it. The officer was just doing his line of work and didn't understand that the thief that he was trying to stop was much better prepared than himself. Team Rocket was starting to get out of hand, and that was where good cops came into the picture he was going to make sure that someday he was going to take down all of them but first things first was taking down this guy who was trying to steal something and had bugged the alarm. The growlithe stood its ground despite the difference in levels between the two, a good police dog wasn't afraid of anything, or rather it was there to protect its trainer no matter what. <"I'm not afraid of you."> it snarled back in response but it wasn't even the hellhound that it would be up against. Instead, it seemed that a tortoise Pokemon was thrown out. It seemed that it wasn't quite as forward as the hound that had been up before but despite that the Growlithe would have no choice but to stand firm even if another Pokemon seemed like it was trapped in a situation it did not want to be in. As long as it answered the call of its trainer it was a threat and one that the pup would have to deal with for its officer. It tried its best but the Pokemon was much faster and a well-placed water pulse slammed into the pup and the officer as he spluttered and vision was cut off as Silas started to make his escape. When there is a momentary reprieve despite how much Growlithe wants to protect its officer a high-level water attack sends it out cold in a moment. "Hey, get back here!" The officer calls after seeing the villain trying to escape but this Pokemon has to be dealt with first. A water type could be handled by electricity, so a mouse with sparks from its cheeks is sent out. Though even if the type difference is much better suited to the officer the level difference is too great. The Pikachu doesn't even get a chance to send sparks at the water type before once more they are both hit with more water from the turtle Pokemon. The officer is drenched and both of his Pokemon are put out of commission. What the heck? "Who are you?" he is put out of commission even as he desperately calls for back up and a smoke ball prepped is thrown down causing him to cough and lose sight to allow the perfect escape. There is no one to follow, no one to stop him when he is so far ahead, the mission almost too easy for him - but that only made him look better in the eyes of Rocket. An extraction is requested and the mission is complete! But doing so comes with its rewards and yet another step in the ladder for Silas.
Aqua gains +1 level and is now Lv. 21! Aqua does not gain any levels from defeating Pikachu. Aqua gains +2 Happiness! Now +5 Silas completes the Mission! He receives: - TM28 Dig - £1500 - 10 Rocket Prestige

"Who are you?" the officer cried out as Silas ducked out the door with the crate. He was Silas. A member of Team Rocket, and one who wouldn't stay at the bottom of the ladder for long if he had any say about it. That quagsire had given him that smokeball forever ago it seemed, and Silas knew the true purpose was for escaping wild battles. But in this instance, it worked like a charm on bumbling offers. The fat man didn't stand a chance.
With the officer drenched and his pokemon knocked out, Aqua fled as well, vanishing into the smoke and chasing after his trainer. The man's violet eyes landed on him as they both fled the scene of the crime and Aqua saw the curve of a smile. Approval.
"Good work, Aqua," Silas praised before returning the tortoise. Aqua felt a surge of hope and pride at that praise. That was rare from his trainer. He seemed to reserve it for Mercenary and Syndicate most days, though he did butter up Jessica on occasion to convince the fluffy princess to behave. But Aqua? He was still new to approval. To not being pushed aside for a stronger pokemon.
He did it. He became strong enough. He felt like he could rest easier in his pokeball with that knowledge.
Silas, unaware of the wartotle's thoughts, slipped into the darkness and out of the yard. He met up with his contact to escape and soon was handing off the crate, the deed well done.
It was a couple hours later, in the morning, that Silas found himself admiring a little disc he purchased from a shady TM seller that catered to the Rockets. She wanted slowpoke tails. He forked them over for this wonderful little prize and much needed upgrade for Mercenary. He let her out of her ball when they were outside and taught her what was on the disc. Dark Pulse. A powerful special dark move that paired ever so nicely with the flamethrower she also knew.
He gave her praise and pets. She was the favorite. Silas didn't even try to hide it. Stealing her was the best decision he ever made. She was powerful, loyal and with the right moveset, was an outright terror to be feared! How could he be anything less than very proud of his partner in crime?
However, he did know that he couldn't loiter for long. With heat from this assignment no doubt soon putting heat at his back, Silas made haste for Azalea.
