"Huuh?... What's going on? My head hurts..." The Chikorita finally woke, groaning.

However, the young grass type was interrupted by the sudden sound of leaves rustling and then the sound of something hitting a tree. The Chimecho chimed and volunteered to look as she was already floating anyways. "I will go take a look!" The psychic type floated over and saw a barely conscious Cottonee surrounded by yellow spores that were still making their way to the ground. She quickly turned back around at the group.

"Oh, it's just another Cottonee who hit its head. No big deal!" The sound Pokemon hummed.

"Hmm.. Can you take a look at the Chikorita then? I've been carrying it all day! I'll go talk to the Cottonee then!" Luigi spoke up and decided to switched spot with the levitating Pokemon.

"Hey, Cottonee! I am Luigi and I just want to ask if you are okay? I promise I won't hurt you!" The Pokemon questioned, approaching from a distance as the yellow spores were still hovering in the air descending very slowly into the ground.

The Cottonee was unaware of what to expect from the approaching Pokemon and Trainer. They were promising to not hurt it, and making promises of friendship. But could they really be trusted? Or were they more humans come to devastate the forest and make its protector cry? But considering how long the protector of the forest had been absent, was that really a problem the Cottonee needed to be worried about? It longed for freedom, the chance to see the outside world and the chance to break itself from the shackles of forest living.

The Cottonee woddled its way tentatively through the spores that it had just loosed in a preemptive defensive maneuver, approaching the one known as Luigi with suspicion in its eyes. It would take a bit of time, but Luigi was eventually able to get through to the slightly fearful cotton spore, to the point that it would willingly allow Penelope to lob the Quick Ball at it, consenting to its fate of being sealed within the ball. Now it would be able to see the world, and to do more with its life other than gathering leaves and hiding from other Pokemon.

Luigi won the day with friendship! Luigi leveled up to Level 23!
