Though Passimian gave Riolu and Clementine the space they needed to bond, life continued around them. Small brown birds soared overhead; their feathery wings outstretched so that they could gently caress the bottom of the puffy white clouds above. Small purple rodents scurried through tall emerald blades, squeaking loudly at one another as they bickered and fought over different stretches of territorial domain. Still small bugs with their pinkish-red exoskeletons crawled slowly along the long branches of nearby trees, some spitting long strings to help dangle them in midair from the branches in quiet suspension. One small bug remained cheerful as it stuffed its face on the plethora of wild berries bursting from nearby bushes. Its once vibrant fuchsia body was now sprayed with bits of blue liquids in random spots where it had merrily chowed on some Oran berrires. Wurmple stopped for a brief second, popping its head up over the tall grasses and turning this way and that until it spied the small blue dog and her trainer conversing ‘privately’ with each other. Oh, they just needed a good counselor to help them work through their trauma and past issues, that’s all! Not this bug’s problem, surely. It scurried off the bush and hustled over to the two on its trek from the bush nearby a tall pine tree where its cousins lived over to a massive oak tree where it lived. “Excuse me trauma-mommas.” Wurmple stated flatly with a blank stare from Riolu to Clementine, trying to scoot-scoot past them as though they were statues blocking its path. “But not all of us care to hear your woe-is-me pity-party cries. Go get some professional help and be done with it! I’ve got a busy day ahead.” Wurmple explained in a hurry. A Wild Wurmple Appeared! Level 7 holding Oran Berry. What will Clementine do? Shiny? Neither Clementine nor Riolu had forgotten that they were in public during their little exchange of emotions, but this had been a long time coming and simply couldn't wait. Still, that didn't stop Riolu from mentally praying to Arceus that nobody overheard them. Meanwhile, Clem maintained her blissful smile, not really caring one way or the other if they happen to be heard by some nearby people or Pokemon. Then, as the wild Wurmple inched its way over to them and called them by a rather ridiculous nickname, the Fighting type duo came to a stop and looked down upon the Bug type. And as they listened to the next batch of words that came from Wurmple's mouth, Riolu began to stare at the Worm Pokemon with some very obvious displeasure on her face and in her tone. "Excuse me? The only one around here that's gonna need professional help is you once I get done with you, you sorry excuse for a first capture."
The blue puppy clenched her right paw into a fist, then slammed it into her left paw as hard as she could, beginning to approach the wild Wurmple with intent to do it serious harm. However, Clem immediately stepped in, holding her arm out in front of Riolu and maintaining her smiling face and friendly tone of voice. "Now, now, Riolu. There's no need for any of that. It's not this Wurmple's fault that it's being so mean. Afterall, all of its friends have already evolved into Silcoons or Cascoons by now, leaving this little late bloomer behind and making fun of it for it. It is kind of sad, but it's nothing to be ashamed of really. This little guy will get there one day soon, I'm sure." And there it was. The Galarian trainer's biggest personality defect.
Without Clem really intending to, she would occasionally tap into the powers she gained from her right eye, causing said eye to give off a faint glow of aura. Whenever this happened, Clem could see not just the aura of all living things, but also read their emotions. Even the ones that they kept hidden away. It was fairly invasive and had gotten the silver-haired trainer into trouble quite a few times, but she still didn't have full control over all of her new Pokemon body parts just yet. And more often than not, she ended up airing the dirty laundry that she saw inside other living beings out loud for all to hear. Be that as it may, this particular occasion certainly did well to improve Riolu's mood, causing her to calm down and chuckle slightly. "Late bloomer. Heheheheh..."
And now that that was all out in the open, Clem grabbed a certain Pokeball from her bag, continuing to smile as she activated the red and white orb. "In any case, if you're really so eager to evolve, then maybe we can help with that. Nothing sparks an evolution like a good battle. So, here ya go. Try this guy on for size." Still blissfully unaware that she had just invaded the privacy of the Wurmple before her, Clem tossed the Pokeball up into the air, sending out her team's resident hero to face it in battle. "Have no fear, Hawlucha is here! A rather outdated phrase, I know! But still one of my personal favorites!" The Wrestling Pokemon appeared from Clem's Pokeball, striking his usual heroic poses to get himself hyped up for his latest confrontation. And once more, Riolu was unable to stop herself from facepalming, letting out a small sigh and slowly shaking her head from side to side for a moment.
On the other hand, Clementine clapped her hands for Hawlucha, knowing that it made him feel good and wanting all of her Pokemon to be as happy as can be. "Isn't he great?! Hawlucha, this Wurmple needs some training! So, make like the hero you are and lend it a helping hand! Or helping wing in your case! Use Wing Attack right now!" Clem gave him his orders, and he immediately struck a few more poses, eyeing the wild Bug type as he did. "Yes, I see! Very well then! I hope you're ready for a crash course in power, Wurmple! Because here comes the hero of justice, Hawlucha! I'll make a cocoon out of you yet! Mark my words!" After three more poses, Hawlucha was off, running towards Wurmple with his wings ready to strike. And even though he and Clem were aiming to help this Wurmple, Riolu still hoped that this Wing Attack would do more than just leave a mark.

Wurmple shivered, their path blocked by these trauma-mamas and their angst. It was wigged out by Clem's eye and huffed. <I didn't mention a single thing about evolving, you weirdo. I am quite happy being a wurmple and not some immobile cocoon. Is this like, some sort of inner deflection thing you have going on? Pinning your thoughts and feelings and fears on others because you can't cope with them. Like. Seriously. Therapy. Get it. Busy pokemon with busy lives don't have time for this.> It crawled protectively over its berry and made grumpy worm noises. It was then that the hawlucha leapt forth and declared some nonsense. Wurmple honestly wasn't paying attention. Which was probably how it ended up uppercut by a wing and sent sailing into the bushes, the berry thankfully still grasped in its nubby little legs. ooc// OHKO!
Hawlucha gained +3LVs for that dominating victory! Hawlucha grew to LV10 Hawlucha is trying to learn the move detect. Forget a move and learn detect?
Riolu gained +1 LV from exp share Riolu grew to LV 4 and learned feint!

No matter how much this Wurmple tried to deny it, Clem's Lucario eye could see the truth. But just to clarify, it wasn't so much a Silcoon or a Cascoon that this Wurmple wanted to evolve into, as much as it was what came after. Like so many of its fellow Worm Pokemon before it, this Wurmple dreamed of one day evolving into either a Beautifly or a Dustox, no longer bound by the Earth and flying freely through the air. With those images filling her mind, Clem continued to smile at the small Bug type, even as it yelled and insulted her. "Awww, there's no need to be so bashful, Wurmple. I'm sure you'll get there someday. I know becoming a cocoon will probably be boring, but just think about how much fun you'll have flying through the air once that phase is behind you. Oh, I wish I had a pair of wings of my own."Clementine let out a blissful sigh, clasping her hands together and envisioning what it would be like to have wings and flying through the sky herself. "And by the way, just for the record, ya smart-mouthed worm, therapy doesn't actually work. It's nothing but a giant load of Tauros waste." Riolu added, firmly believing that it would take far more than simply sitting in a room and talking about your problems to solve them. But before Wurmple could respond to Riolu's opinion, that's when Hawlucha's Wing Attack struck, sending both Wurmple and its Oran Berry flying off into the bushes. "And once again, the day is saved! Thanks to the great and mighty hero, Hawlucha!" The Wrestling Pokemon proudly proclaimed, striking another round of confident poses to truly savor his latest victory. It was about that time when Clem came back to reality, proceeding to smile and clap for Hawlucha once again, very happy for him and glad to see him so happy. "Very nicely done, Hawlucha. Thanks so much for your help. Hopefully that Wurmple will be able to learn from this battle and gain some valuable experience of its own." The Fighting type trainer commented, then called Hawlucha back to his Pokeball once more, before turning to face Riolu. "I hope you managed to gain something from this battle too, Riolu. Now, c'mon. Let's get going. There's still plenty of good times to be had on our journey through Johto." With that, Clem and Riolu were off again, walking side by side down route 29, searching for their next opponent. Clem was humming another joyful tune, but for the first time since they met, Riolu didn't complain, glancing at her trainer and smiling a little bit herself. OOC: I'll pass on having Hawlucha learn Detect. Also, Pixel, Riolu is still holding an EXP Share. So, she should also gain a level from this battle, making her level 4 more. It's also worth noting that Riolu learns Feint at level 4. Thanks.

"When two trainers make eye contact, they must battle! You, lady, will accept my challenge and fight me!"
That was what Clem would hear right before a whole ten year old child dropped from a tree like a mankey, catching himself in a crouch like he was trying to mimic a superhero landing for an epic speech. He popped up like a spoink-in-a-box, bouncing from foot-to-foot and he grinned excitedly at this unwary traveler who walked right into his perfectly awesome trap! "I've been training real hard to be the very best trainer there ever was. My spearow is in the top percentile! We're totally going to go all the way to the Indigo League! And defeating you will be our next victory and one more step closer to our first badge!" He held up a ball and without even waiting to hear if Clem accepted his challenge, he threw it and released a spearow. He was indeed not lying. That was...a spearow. However, it was a little funny looking. Shouldn't spearow be red and brown? Why was this one green and gold? Ah, no wonder Jerry might have thought he had the best spearow ever. This one was shiny. He rubbed his nose with his thumb, his hands propping on his waist, "I wouldn't blame you if you wanna give up now! We are really tough." Youngster Jerry and his [LV 7] top percentage spearow want to battle! Moves: Peck, Growl, Leer, Quick AttackEM

Even with their abilities to sense the aura of other living things, neither Clem nor Riolu had time to process what was happening, hearing a brand-new voice call out to them suddenly. The Fighting type duo then turned their heads just in time to see their next opponent appear before them, and that this one was very confident indeed. In response to the child's actions and declarations, Riolu merely shrugged her shoulders, not looking or sounding too impressed by any of it. "Meh. This kid still has a better shot at becoming a real hero than Hawlucha does. I'll give 'em that." On the other hand, Clem gave Jerry a friendly smile, happy to finally be coming across another trainer for the first time since arriving in Johto. "Well, you're certainly an energetic dreamer. It's nice to meet you. My name's Clementine Nightingale, but just Clem will do. And this is my partner, Riolu."
The Galarian trainer gestured over to the Emanation Pokemon when she said that last part, but then that same Pokemon gained a tone and expression of mild exasperation. "Not there yet, zombie." That particular topic of discussion didn't last long though, as Jerry's Pokemon quickly gained the attention of both trainer and Pokemon once again, catching them both by surprise. "Woah! What?! You have a shiny Spearow?! It looks so cool! I've never seen a real shiny Pokemon in person before!" Clem stated with some very obvious levels of excitement in her voice, as her smile grew bigger, and her pupils changed into the shapes of stars. Meanwhile, Riolu was the exact opposite of her trainer once again, shaking off the surprise in seconds and poking said trainer's leg in an attempt to bring her back to reality.
"Yeah, yeah. It's very pretty, but let's not forget that being shiny doesn't make a Pokemon a better fighter. This particular shiny might be a Flying type, but with the right Pokemon, we should be able to ground it fairly easily." Riolu's words were more than enough to bring Clem back, as she snapped out of it, giggled a bit, and scratched the back of her head a few times. "Oh yeah. You're right. Sorry, Riolu. I think I know just the Pokemon for the job." The silver-haired trainer then proceeded to grab a familiar Pokeball from her bag, pressing the button on the small device to activate it, then tossing it up into the air and freeing the Pokemon contained within. "It's time for another team effort, Passimian! We're counting on you, so go get 'em!"
The Teamwork Pokemon materialized for all to see but was definitely not expecting to see a gold Spearow of all things, staring at the Tiny Bird Pokemon with wide eyes for a moment. "Oh jeez! Is that Spearow shiny or just really sick?!...For all our sakes, I hope it's the former." Clementine giggled a little more at Passimian's joke, but quickly regained her composure, not forgetting about Jerry's request for a good battle. "It's a shiny alright, Passimian! And a rarity like that deserves the best battle we can muster! So, give it all you've got with your Rock Tomb!" At Clem's command, Passimian grinned, tossed his coconut up high into the air, then dug up some big rocks as fast as he could, flinging them all towards Jerry's one of a kind Spearow. "Alright, diamond in the rough, let's see what you got!"
