Visiting the Cottage
Everyone who wishes to visit the Iridescent Cottage must possess two gym badges. This is because of the varying levels of wild Pokémon as well as those that belong to Tanya. It is also due in part because of the cottage's location, barely outside of Ilex Forest.

Residents


Hyacinth
This gentle Meganium belonged to Tanya's mother, and was brought over to help tend to her garden. She lives comfortably out in the wild, coming inside only when the days get cold and snowy. Protecting the house is not a duty the Grass type performs, but she will do her best to defend against intruders if her soothing aroma fails to stop them.

Despite being a bit shy, Hyacinth acts quite friendly towards non-hostile visitors. She will, however, shoo them away if they stick around too long or try to trample the flowers. On warm summer mornings, she can be found napping under the various leafy plants in the garden and visitors are encouraged to leave her be.

Sable
This jolly bird-trainer is always glad to take on challengers who wander by the cottage. Sable helps take care of the house when Tanya is away, and can often be found sitting in tall trees with her team of birds near the Gazebo. She is quite knowledgeable about the various areas of the cottage and is always happy to offer advice to visitors if they're looking for a certain type of Pokémon. Sable, much like her precious birds, often goes south for the winter and is unable to be challenged during this season.

Tobias
Until the evening sets in, this active swimmer can be found in the lake by walking down to the docks. He gladly accepts challenges - if he's near enough to hear one. Tobias is a very exuberant kinda guy, and can be boisterous and borderline irritating if around him long enough. However, he takes battle challenges seriously and is always happy to take on visitors. When the lake is frozen over for winter, Tobias usually spends his days in his home region of Hoenn and is unavailable for battles.

Dr. Hunter Mallach
Doctor Hunter is a friend of Tanya's father and has since relocated to Azalea Town to open a clinic. On his days off (and over the winter season), he will often drop by the Iridescent Cottage with his Pokémon in tow. A kind and patient man, this doctor enjoys the quiet atmosphere of the garden and often can be found sitting on the bench and talking to Hyacinth, or checking up on the local Pokémon. Spring proves a busy season for his clinic and he won't visit the cottage, meaning no battle challenges can be made.
