Twenty Colors of Hope [Dying Wish]

Takara was startled to see the young, ill-looking boy out in such cold weather. He had been quick to search his bag for the too small beanie and gloves he had knitted recently as a test, they looked like they'd fit the young boy. They weren't Takara's usual colors, instead being green, but Takara thought the boy might like them better that way.

"Hi there, um, I know it's not my place, but you look a bit cold out here," Takara would say with an awkward smile, offering the warm beanie and gloves to the boy. He was startled by the reception from the boy, greeting him back and telling him his name.

And much more than his name. Takara felt sad at the notion this boy would never otherwise have a chance to see the Vivillions, and that gave Takara an idea. "Sure Kent, I'd be happy to do that for you," He said softly but warmly, a promise to try.

"I'm going to be a pokemon breeder sometime soon, so I'm sure I can do it! I'll bring back all the Vivillions to show you!" He announced with determination. Takara just wanted to do the right thing.

"What's the name of your Scatterbug? I promise to take good care of her!" Takara proclaimed.

Kent had not expected to be relying on the kindness of a stranger today; for a moment, the cold had really been almost too much for the boy to bear. But he was stubborn like his father, and insisted on going out in search of bugs to play with even through all this bad weather and dropping temperatures. The pale and ailing boy had some color return to his cheeks as he accepted the articles of clothing. He shivered still as he grew accustomed to the small bit of additional warmth.

"Th-thanks, mister..." Kent said, before going into his story. A story of illness and woe, of a small and struggling family whose only boy was beset by a serious illness. Despite his parents' attempts to soften the harsh truth from him, he suspected that he was not long for this world and would not live to see his dream come to fruition. He wanted to see all the corners of the world, and the closest he might ever get to seeing that would be seeing the different types of Vivillon patterns.

"Okay Vivi, go with Mr. Breeder, he'll take care of you and you'll come back as a big and beautiful Vivillon," Kent said solemnly, he said softly to the worm. She seemed a little reluctant to leave her Trainer, but she understood the gravity of it. She looked up at the Trainer she was being passed off to, before being sealed away into her Poke Ball and handed gingerly to the Breeder-in-training. Kent coughed slightly, turning to make the lonely trek back home. "My parents' house is over here in New Bark, near the water. Just bring Vivi and any other Vivillon you get there, and I'll come up with something special to reward you with."
