"What was that?" Silas asked, a sense of dread and paranoia passing over him. His hand curled around the cleanse tag as he looked around. Hng. "More ghosts?" He heard the giggles and the whispers to stay. Silas swore and stuffed the tag into his pocket before taking out a pokeball. "King. Take care of the problem with bite!" He threw the ball and from it emerged a raticate. He looked around nervously, whiskers twitching, ears flat as he was smacked with tiny flecks of hail. He squeaked out a tiny cry of protest because this weather was terrible and this place felt spooky, but that look on his trainer's face...well...that quelled any further nonsense of that sort.
He looked around and spotted two shadowy figures.
His belly roiled with nervousness but he knew what he had to do. He lunged for the ghost and tried to bite one.
ooc// Bite x2 if allowed, otherwise, but bite x1. Won't OHKO this round. Lol.

Although the hail would be a continuing nuisance to most, it was no problem for Shinya, as Yanma remained in her position atop his head, continuing to use her wings to bat all incoming hail away from her trainer. Of course, Yanma's endless fluttering also prevented Shinya from hearing the sounds of the wild Pokemon fleeing the area as well. Not that he really cared, of course. However, Yanma's wings did little to block out the sounds of the ghostly voices circling around them. Upon hearing these new voices, Shinya and his Pokemon all narrowed their eyes, preparing themselves for yet another spectral battle. Although, even in the face of a supposedly frightening encounter, the trainer from Alola only chuckled, smirking at the Ghost type Pokemon as they appeared before him, his Pokemon, and their allies.
"Tch. Stay forever? Ya got anythin' original or is that it? Pretty sure I've heard that very same line at least two other times today already. You ghosts really suck at intimidation, ya know that?" With his tone as smart-mouthed and disrespectful as ever, Shinya taunted the pair of Misdreavus'. And he didn't stop there, holding up the Cleanse Tag in his hand. "Ya want this back? Come and take it. If ya think ya can, scrubs." The Bug type trainer chuckled some more, then took a look at Silas and his Pokemon of choice for this battle. This one didn't seem to be as capable as Mercenary, and not nearly as rare, but Shinya was still grateful to not be in this alone at least.
"Bite, huh? Sounds like a fine idea, suit. Sizzlipede, ya know what to do. Go bite their eyes right outta their heads, pal." Following Silas' lead yet again, the Team Skull grunt called for Sizzlipede's own super effective move, and the Radiator Pokemon couldn't have been more thrilled to be battling again. "Ya sure you're not a psychic, boss?! Because ya read my mind! I'll burn these ghosts up for sure this time!" Getting himself all fired up and then some, Sizzlipede climbed down off of Shinya's arm, then faced his next set of adversaries. The Bug/Fire type stood side-by-side with King, which definitely helped King combat the cold, as all the hail that came near said Bug/Fire type turned to steam instantly, just like the last few bouts. From there, Sizzlipede lunged upwards, heading straight for one of the two Screech Pokemon with his fangs bared and ready to strike.
OOC: Two Bite attacks from Sizzlipede as well.

Both of the ghosts remained invisible to the eye, floating around and taunting the two humans who had stumbled into their domain. Their job was to protect this tree with that spell tag, and they sure were not going to let these people just walk away. The boss would kill them, first of all, but also it just wasn't fun to let the humans win. After laughing at them a bit more, both ghosts reappeared and looked ready to attack, only to be met with two different sets of jaws. Both ghosts cried out in pain from the dark energy infused with the teeth of the Raticate and Sizzlepede, but because the humans were ready for the ghosts to reappear, the element of surprise had been totally lost. As such, the ghosts did what they could. One Misdreavus floated right up to Sizzlepde and made direct eye contact, its eyes glowing an odd purple color. Were Shinya to try and switch out his Pokemon, he would discover that the ghostly energy would not allow that to happen, the poke ball mechanism blocked by the ethereal abilities. The other Misdreavus, getting close to King, started to hack and make weird noises in its throat, before it projectile vomited a sticky, noxious material all over the Raticate. After a few seconds, purple coloration flooded the cheeks of the rodent, signaling that he had been poisoned, even worse than a regular poisoning strike to the effect of the toxic material. The glowing orb around his neck almost sparked to life, before it went back to being a benign orb, the poisoning preventing the normal type from being burned. All the while, the hard chunks of ice continued to fall, striking every Pokemon with their pointy ends and chilly temperature. What would the humans choose to do now? King started to gag and paw at his face, swaying from the toxin that now pulsed through his system. The kind thing to do would be to heal up his raticate, but Silas knew that there was no point in wasting that sort of time. "Let this experience make you stronger. Endure it, King. Bite again." He pointed at the weakened misdreavous and watched as the rat panted a bit, clearly ill, but braced himself. He had to focus. Had to not let the feeling of illness bring him down. On stubby legs, King ran forth again to bite down on one of his foes.
Silas turned his attention to their surroundings. Then to the tag in his hand.
He squinted at it.
"I wonder if this has something to do with this supposed curse," he murmured. As much as he was considering crumpling the tag in one hand and leaving it behind, something told him to keep it as they trekked back to the shrine. Just in case.

While most people and Pokemon would probably have been intimidated by the stares that one of the Misdreavus gave Sizzlipede, Shinya and Sizzlipede weren't like most other people and Pokemon. Sure, there was no running away from this battle now, but that made absolutely no difference to either of them. In fact, it got Sizzlipede even more fired up than he already was, as his entire body radiated with intense heat, causing all the plant life around him to catch on fire and all the hail that hit him to turn into steam instantly. "HA! Talk about a wasted move! Congrats! All ya did was give us another free shot on ya!" Shinya openly mocked the pair of Screech Pokemon, still completely unafraid of them, grinning his usual grin through it all. He never had any intention of swapping out Sizzlipede for another of his Bug type Pokemon, confident that the Radiator Pokemon would be more than enough to handle this on his own. Of course, he wasn't alone out there on the battlefield. "What do ya except, boss?! These chumps are ghosts! That means they probably don't have any brains inside their floatin' heads at all! Ahahahahahahahah!" Yanma joined in on the mockery, laughing out loud, while continuing to bat all incoming hail away from her beloved trainer. And although he wasn't laughing, Sizzlipede was feeling pretty confident about all of this himself, eager to sink his red-hot fangs into the Ghost type once more. "Gimme the word, boss! This floatin' bad hair day is about to wish it had stayed dead!" Fortunately for him, he avoided getting poisoned like his furry teammate. Not that it would've made much different to the Bug/Fire type, of course. Either way, Silas and King weren't out of this battle, and neither were Shinya and Sizzlipede. "Ya want it, ya got it, Sizzlipede! Use Bite again! Burn every last strand of hair right outta that ghost's head!" Shinya gave the order, and Sizzlipede was off again, going after the Misdreavus that King had chosen to ignore. And while Sizzlipede was carrying out his orders, Shinya noticed Silas staring at his Cleanse Tag, deciding to take a closer look at it himself. Surely, it must've held some great significance, but the Team Skull grunt wasn't sure what that could be. However, it was obvious that it had something to do with all these wandering spirits. Perhaps it also had something to do with that incredibly ominous presence he felt back when he was passing by the Forest Shrine. If so, there was only one way to know for sure. But they'd have to fight their way back there first. OOC: Rexman, Shinya's Sizzlipede is level 26. Not 25.

King didn't enjoy the feeling of poison running through his body. However, with some encouragement from Silas, the struggling rodent crawled toward one of the Misdreavus and gave it a powerful bite. The ghost type's smirk faded into pain as it cried and then faded away. The other Misdreavus wasn't happy about its partner was banished, and floated swiftly toward the bug type with a Confusion attack. Its eyes glowed blue and lifted the Sizzlipede a little bit, and then dropped the duo type on the ground for some additional gravity damage. Sizzlipede crawled toward the Misdreavus as well with jaws opened wide, and bit the soul out of the phantom being. The second Misdreavus shrieked one last time from the pain, and also disappeared. With both ghost Pokemon defeated, the Ilex Forest was slightly less haunted. However, the ominous feeling was still looming over the area.
