"Too easy," Silas scoffed. He felt smug as he stared down these gengar. Certainly, he felt the dread all the way down to his bones and the fact there were too was unsettling. But Mercenary and Scizor were more than equipped to handle these laughing, menacing fools! He watched as one of the gengar practically evaporated as it was struck by his houndoom's dark pulse. "Return," Silas called to his houndoom, but the light bounced off of her as she growled at the gengar remaining, her fur standing on end after the cretin glared at her funny. Silas scoffed as he put the ball away, "I was going to switch her out for King. Give him a chance to prove his worth in this battle as this seems like it was too easy for Mercenary. But it seems you two chose to make your unlives difficult instead." He glanced over at Shinya, "Not to steal your thunder or anything...but those ghosts have decided to antagonize my houndoom into continuing to battle. Your scizor is quite effective. Psycho Cut...an unusual coverage move to see on a bug or steel type. But very...useful in this instance."
Mercenary snarled at the standing ghost and spat another dark pulse in its direction.

As the battle began, both Shinya and Scizor couldn't help but question the intelligence levels of the two evil Shadow Pokemon that had appeared before their group. Not just because of how foolish it was to get on Shinya's bad side, but also for their choice of moves at the start of this double battle. For one thing, a Ghost type choosing to use Mean Look on a Dark type, especially one as vicious as a Houndoom, was a big mistake in and of itself. And for another thing, the other Gengar had chosen to use Acid Spray, a Poison type move, on Scizor, a Steel type Pokemon. Instead of writhing in pain like the clearly braindead Gengar had hoped for, Scizor just stood there with an exasperated expression on his face, as the acidic slime slowly slide off of his metallic body. "How annoying." Was all Scizor had to say on the matter, quickly spinning his body around several times to completely remove the last of the acid from his body. Shinya had a few choice words for the evil spirit himself though, snickering at its foolishness before grinning at it. "HA! Acid Spray?! Seriously?! Jeez, now I know why ya died the first time! You're completely braindead! Literally! Don't ya know that Poison type moves are ineffective against Steel types?! Well, too bad, so sad! No do overs! Sucks to be you, idiot!" The Team Skull grunt snickered some more, once again demonstrating how unafraid he was by belittling the evil Gengar right to its face. And as soon as he was done snickering, he heard the sound of Silas' voice, glancing at his makeshift teammate once more. In response to the first words that the suited trainer spoke, Shinya merely shrugged his shoulders, not really seeming all that bothered by the final realization of this confrontation. "Meh. Whatever, suit. It's cool. Believe me, I get it. When someone messes with you or your Pokemon, ya just gotta show 'em why that was a big mistake. And Mercenary is faster than Scizor, so it looks like the privilege of the last strike goes to you two this time. Besides, if this were a one-on-one fight, I'm positive Scizor and I could've handled it on our own anyway. Just do us a favor and make sure this last Dark Pulse hurts as much as possible, alright?" As much as the Bug type trainer and his Pincer Pokemon would've liked to have pounded in the finishing move themselves, Silas and Mercenary were faster and stronger than they were today. Shinya may have been part of an underhanded, disrespectful street gang, but he was still smart enough and a big enough person to know when he was beat. Still, there were a few silver linings to this particular situation. First off, Shinya and his Pokemon still got to play their part in this side quest. And secondly, Silas and Mercenary weren't even smug about it in the slightest, which Shinya did appreciate. "Thanks for sayin' that, suit. Your Houndoom is really somethin' herself. I knew Dark Pulse would be super effective, but I didn't think it'd be a first-round knockout. Very impressive. And just for the record, I originally wanted Night Slash for Scizor, but I ain't no breeder. So, whatever. Psycho Cut will do just fine. Besides, it'll come in handy when we finally make it to Cianwood City." The Alolan trainer offered Silas and Mercenary a few complements of his own, followed by a round of reasoning behind the presence of a Psychic type move on his Bug/Steel type Pokemon. Additionally, Scizor turned towards Mercenary, and offered the Dark Pokemon a bow of gratitude, along with some kind words of his own. "The boss speaks the truth. You have my thanks, Mercenary. Not just for your assistance in this battle, but for all the aid you gave my comrades in so many of the previous bouts up to this point. You have proved to be a very helpful comrade, truly." Be that as it may, despite the current circumstances of this double battle, that wouldn't stop Shinya and Scizor from at least trying to score the finishing move themselves. "Still, on the off-chance somethin' goes wrong with Houndoom's last attack, be ready with another Psycho Cut, Scizor! Ya can never be too careful after all!" Shinya turned back towards the battle, grinned, and gave Scizor one more command, to which Scizor nodded his head, turned back towards the remaining Gengar, and began storing up psychic energy in his right pincer, ready to use it if the opportunity presented itself. OOC: I don't mean to nitpick, Rexman, but ya seem to have forgotten a few things here. First, ya didn't update Scizor on Shinya's character page. He was supposed to learn Psycho Cut from the TM in Shinya's inventory, forgetting Pursuit in its place, and he's supposed to be holding the Assault Vest in Shinya's inventory too. Also, Steel types are unaffected by Poison type moves. So, Gengar's Acid Spray shouldn't have done anything to Scizor at all. Thanks so much.

It was not looking good for the remaining Gengar. A mixture of sadness and anger bubbled in the spirit's core at the loss of his friend. They had been terrorizing this shrine for a long time now, and the wild Pokemon almost didn't know what to do with his lone existence now. So, he would take it out on the trainers who banished his friend. Seeing an opportunity, he flew at the Houndoom, reaching the canine right before the dark pulse was released. Using his hands, he waved them back and forth, almost as if he was pretending to be a Clefairy doing metronome. However, instead of a mystical energy to bring forth a random move, he was creating relaxing and peaceful sleep waves, lulling the Houndoom to sleep. After a few seconds, Mercenary was out cold, snoring in the grass in front of the shrine. A small glow appeared around the Houndoom's neck and the eyes of the hound flipped open, even more rage now behind them. Laughing, the Gengar was ready to cause more trouble when he aw the canine's eyes open. Sputtering, the ghost couldn't figure out what happened, but it didn't matter because the spirit was blasted by the dark pulse and slammed hard to the ground. Groaning, the Gengar tried to get up, but it was useless and he sank into the ground, disappearing. Immediately, the area seemed to lighten up a little bit, as if the trainers had just opened a window to let some sunlight in. Now, it was just up to the trainers to bring their injured Chikorita closer to the shrine itself. Gengar 1 used Hypnosis on Mercenary, Mercenary is asleep. Mercenary is Asleep, Lum Berry used up to Wake up Mercenary used Dark Pulse, Gengar is KO'ed.
