Caribes chuckled. Silas’ quick synopsis of Delores was a gem in itself. An old hag who managed to chase off or outlive every financially savvy man she managed to come cross was a real treat to think about. Wasn’t she aware, as a ‘professional’ gold digger that the hoards of junk implied she was, that it wouldn’t behoove her to lose her only source of income? “You think her ex-husbands mostly died or were chased off? The rich ones, at least. I bet she left any that weren’t rich enough for her tastes early on.” They hummed, carefully sifting their way through several miniature statues.
None of the statues held any clues that would help lead Caribes closer to the supposed Mitzi that they remained so determined to find. Caribes considered stealing some of the extra Pokemon that wandered around Delores’ house, popping them on the Admininstrator’s desk, and demanding that they tell the old gent which one was the real Mitzi, instead. Cool, calm, collected. They were nearly there. Nearly through with this easy-turned-high-stakes mission that kept them at bay.
“I did find more than one marriage certificate and a few death certificates in another room.” Caribes called out in answer to Silas’ own questions. Clearly, Delores was a woman who knew her way around affluent men, but not her way around building a name for herself. Had she not inherited a single thing from these men after their time together to keep her afloat? Not enough alimony, or personal belongings that would have gone to her, instead? It was a sad state of affairs to see a woman clever enough to land the man of her dreams, but also dense enough to let herself squander in ruins.
Fagin flapped his mighty wings and coughed from the dust that filled the air around them. “Not smaarrt. Not smaarrt!” He chuckled as his long, orange beak searched through the dust and cluttered heap of disorganized belongings. Fagin snatched a large bottle of medicinal liquid off the ground quickly and tossed it up into the air. As it fluttered overhead, he dived up instantly, snapped his beak on it with enough pressure to break it open, and greedily gulped the medicinal liquid up with ease. “I show. Show you who not smart. I not smart, so I act real dumb!”
Fagin flapped his wings with such fervor, he caused the dust to swirl in small cyclones around the atmosphere, making it tougher for either of them to see their opponent. He quickly picked up several small, decorative statues and tossed them at Noctowl in an earnest attempt to take as much as he could out of his opponent. “Now you not smart. Not smart at all. Can’t see, I bet. Can’t see a thing!” Fagin laughed maniacally, reveling in ‘his’ moment.

Silas tossed some more valuable things from the back of the closet into the luggage bag he toted. “Multiple certificates? Checks out with what I am finding here. Whether they all died or bailed, it’s hard to tell, but she kept their things. A lot of these more expensive suits are in pristine condition.” He pocketed some shiny cufflinks and a box with an earring set. Silas was starting to become ready to give up when he opened one of the clothing boxes and found a cluster of jewelry boxes tucked under the dress inside. Then he saw it, in shiny gold foil letters. “I FOUND IT! I found Mitzy.”
He opened the box and revealed…an anklet?
“It’s…just some jewelry. One of those dainty things that women wear on their ankles sometimes. Don’t know if this was ever worn, but it’s not tarnished…probably means it’s made of real gold. The gems seem to have good color and clarity…” He zipped the luggage bag and toted it out to the hall. He gave Caribes a somewhat confused look. “What could they possible need something like this for? Are these gemstones actually carved from terashards or some famous stolen rock? It…it doesn’t look important.”
But it was not their mission to discern why Mitzy was valued by the admins, just find it and bring it in without harming the old lady.
He held up the box.
“When you’re done rummaging around, I suggest we bail. Who knows if the crazy lady next door called the cops after we left.”

The dust cloud created was going to take a few hours to settle back down in this dusty attic. Now, even though both Pokemon's visions were blurred by unsightly condition, the Noctowl managed to peck at the Bombirdier once more. "You are dumb! Whatever you just drank must be very expired! I bet it tastes sour and bitter!" The brown bird cawed back disappointingly. Then, Fagin managed to get his talons on some old garden statues from the spring of thirty decades ago. They looked like your common Pokemon but dressed as bearded gnomes. Their once colorful paints had faded away, but their weight still held firm as they smacked the Noctowl hard in its torso. The Noctowl managed to dodge the last one, and then used its beak to poke fun of Fagin's Flabebe's sized brain. "Were you smacked down as a child?"

There were some sounds outside, but mostly children and then their parents. It appeared after the sandstorm, the weather had cooled in the area, and the folks were noticing frost developing around the area. The two should wrap this up soon, before they were found out suspiciously by the neighborhood crowd. At the moment, it was just oohs and ahhs, and comments about upcoming winter and chilly breezes. 1-16·1-16·1-100·1-16·1-100·1-16

“She certainly…was a collector…” Caribes hummed the words with a low grimace. The whole house was filled head-to-toe with knickknacks and documents she kept even when she no longer needed them. Everything Delores was ever given or had ever bought in her entire life must have been stored somewhere. There were event scraps of old junk mail with other people’s names on it littering some of the smaller tables near her couches and chairs. “But it makes you wonder… you think she never cleaned? Always had a maid, I bet, so when hard times finally struck she let it go to ruin.”
Fagin flapped his wings with a mighty, powerful beat. The strange liquid rejuvenated him in so many ways, he was positive that he’d easily defeat this owl wings down! “I just big dumb bird! Outta way, big dumb bird! No one wants to see you big dumb bird!” Fagin cackled. He searched through the dusty attic with his long, sharp beak until he managed to find an old plastic crate. Immediately, Fagin nabbed it and lifted it up into the air. He’d spin it around a few times, then tossed it after Noctowl with all the force and effort he could muster. “Now you gunna be big dumb bird! Outta way big dumb bird!” Fagin howled with laughter.
Caribes nodded and immediately turned their attention to the backdoor, immediately rushing over it with a sharp whistle. “Sounds good. We can’t stay here too long. Fagin, hurry up with your toy and come on! We can’t waste all day playing with others!” Caribes snapped in an instance. Their fingers easily gripped and yanked the door wide open, where they disappeared into the foggy day that surrounded Azalea Town. Finally, a weather condition that would help them better hide from any unwanted attention! Something other than the dust storms they’d faced earlier.

With Mitzy in his pockets and a luggage bag full of valuables in hand, Silas gladly followed Caribes towards the back door. "Weather in this place is Tauros-Dung, but at least it isn't more sand. Scout, one more yawn on the old lady." The chimecho obediently complied before floating his way towards Silas, wrapping his ribbon tail around the man's upper arm. "Looks like our friend is already making an escape. Can't blame him. We've been in here too long and we can't go around attracting police attention. Not when the weather has given us...such an opportunity."
He ducked into the cool fog, protected by the longer sleeves of his attire. He slipped off the hi-vis vest he was wearing and crumpled it up, tucking it into an inside pocket of his jacket.
"The pick up point is at the Well outside of town. They should be able to connect us with an admin from there." Silas said, keeping pace now with Caribes. Violet eyes searched for possible trouble up ahead. Hopefully they would be far enough away and the old lady would snooze just long enough that they could make a grand escape before their misdeeds were noticed by the general population and linked together.
Then again, the bloodless robbery of some hoarder lady and the murder of some random city worker didn't exactly scream 'connected', but it all depended what the many eyes of the city saw. Perhaps enough people would recall the Uncle-Nephew duo in passing...perhaps none would remember at all. They tried to be discreet. Well, up until the very end.
Silas miiiight have left a proper Rocket calling card at Delore's house before he left, but what were the odds that anyone would find it in her junk? And if they did, would associate it with two random men passing through town?
"I wonder what the admin needs an anklet for?" Silas would voice to his companion quietly. He didn't dare bring it out into the open yet. "Evolution stones? Tera shards? Maybe pieces of a mega stone?" He wasn't a jeweler. He couldn't say what the value of the piece was...or why. "Maybe it belonged to some movie star?" Silas shook his head. Even with Mitzy in hand, he felt...blind. Fumbling. "Perhaps it doesn't matter that we know. As long as we are compensated for the work we have done to obtain the thing."

"Silence! You stupid fool!" The Noctowl cawed in anger at the Bombirdier's reply. It wasn't pleased with the way the Bombirdier just completely mock its words. Its comments seemed to went one ear and out the other. It flew forward to give the opponent a peck, but due to the dusty condition of the attic, the Noctowl poked hole in a messy pile of clothes instead. "URGH, what is this doing here?"Then, Fagin picked up a dusty old plastic crate, and hurled it at the angry bird. The other avian was exhausted from the impact, and fell to the ground, unable to get up. The dusty cloud quickly obscured it as well. With the two Pokemon in the house subdued and defeated, the two criminals could now continue their merry way. Outside, a young child screamed in surprise. "MAMA! IT TOUCHED ME!" Followed by a woman's voice to calm down the young kid. "It's just a Pokemon, it'll be fine. Shh... They won't hurt you!"

Caribes’ feet worked quick against the ground. They stayed low, moving through the streets with a hurried stride that wasn’t quite a run in public presence. A quick pace was exercise, a fast pace was suspicious. Especially with the string of misfortunate events proliferating throughout the sleepy town of Azalea, appearances were necessary. When possible – when they were able to cut through backyard, alleyways, and through pockets of dense trees – Caribes would break out into the speedy gait of a run in the direction of Slowpoke Well.
“You know, the organization has their eye on the well.” Caribes smirked. They worked in shady deals and sold to each other in Slowpoke tails. It was inevitable that there would be a mini base of sorts deep within its damp, murky depths. The small hippopotamuses were slow and dimwitted. They seemingly wouldn’t even register pain from their tails when someone chose to chop it clean off. It was such a cultural phenomenon, that other regions already made cooking with Slowpoke tails a non-criminal offense and many dishes were made with the tasty items. But of course, Johto was always rear backwards in their ways. Caribes returned Fagin to his ball as soon as the large stork caught to to them.
Something glimmered in the distance. Caribes’ eyes widened with hope. “We’re almost there, Silas. You see?” They were quick to do all they could to avoid the young child and her mother who had spoken from somewhere in the distance. They could care less if it was a wild Pokémon ripping the child apart limb by limb. It would be a sad, twisted sort of fate. One that Caribes would have violently warned them about if the Pokémon in question was of an evolved species or evolvable species. But ultimately, it would be their own downfall, nonetheless. “I cannot express in words how I long to be over with this mission already.” They grumbled more to themselves than Silas.
“The jewelry…” Now that was a good question. It seemed so ordinary that Caribes’ quick pilfering of deeds and the like seemed more important by contrast. A quick change of some paperwork, and Team Rocket could own several of the homes throughout Azalea that the hoarder of a woman either owned or rented out. Oh or why someone who lived so slovenly, who couldn’t get rid of a wet paper bag to save her life, and whose house reeked of her ‘pets’, who knew. “In my youth…” No need to admit their previous rank. If Silas didn’t know, that was their bad.
Caribes’ eyes glimmered devilishly. “I’ve seen some seemingly inornate pieces of jewelry do powerful things. I’m betting it’s definitely made out of a specialized stone.” Visions replayed in the back of Caribes’ mind. Of machines built around harvesting the powers of some ‘boring’ pieces of jewelry, allowing them to shoot high-powered lasers and such that could melt through steel frames. “I would be curious to see what the admins have in plan. Though, we are just grunts.” Caribes commented, then spat out, “for now,” just underneath their breath. “It could just be them testing us. Seeing if we have what it takes for ‘bigger’ and more dangerous missions. If that’s the case, be prepared for what they ask of you next.” Caribes laughed.

Silas' haul of misc stolen things good for quick cash and costumes probably didn't look as impressive as the deeds and records Caribes pilfered. But who knew? Maybe he stole a piece of jewelry or watch worth the same as a house. He was pretty sure he did. They both played their parts.
The pair vanished into the fog, ignoring the wails of a frightened child. They weren't here to help. What reason did they have to possibly lose their head start on the authorities by dithering so foolishly?
"I have heard talk about the Well regarding its importance in operations," Silas agreed with a smirk. "Maybe this piece of jewelry plays a roll? Either way, it's a good place to duck and hide. This fog rolled in at just the right time." He kept pace with Caribes, the little roller luggage wheeling behind him. "I feel your frustration. Grunt work is...beneath us.' Us. As in them both. He had developed a level of respect for the other Grunt during this mission. At the start, he had been dubious of working with another person, but now? He actually trusted someone in this organization to, maybe not have his back, but to at least be on his side when things went south.
"Heh. Let us strive to become...our own bosses then, eh? Hard for admins to send us on ridiculous errands if we are admins ourselves~" They soon reached the well and Silas noted the ladder down. "Let us go have a chat with the higher ups, hm? And see what's going on."
Down he would go to meet up with those of a higher station.
Time to hand over Mitzy and the other shiny things they pilfered along the way.

"Let me see it," the woman demanded, barely giving either of the men a glance. Her gaze was focused on their pockets and hands until they produced the various items for exchange. She let the grunt accompanying her for their casual smoke outside accept all the other goodies the pair shoved her way. Her interest was purely on the target. Whether the jewellery had caught the light to reflect in her eyes or if it was simply a well hidden burst of glee that twinkled there was hard to say. And she would of course not give anyone the time to consider it. "Well done." Her tone was flat as she snapped the box shut and securely placed it within an inner jacket pocket. Still she didn't grace either with any eye contact. Instead she turned away from them and took a puff after tapping the end of her cigarette. The woman wore a very pleased smirk. Her accomplice reciprocated their exchange of items with the classic bootlegged currency of their group. R Silas and Caribes each earned 20 Rocket Prestige and 1 Slowpoke Tail Updating
