Finally leaving New Bark Town behind her, Ava was ready to start her journey. She took her first steps into Route 29 before her eyes settled on a sickly-looking boy. She hesitated. He was dressed like a bug catcher and had some Pokemon with him. Perhaps he was a trainer. Would he expect a battle? Oh, was he going out on his final adventure, to have fun before his last moments?? How sad!
Kent noticed Ava and waved hello. He didn't insert himself, but Ava felt so bad she started up a conversation, expecting a battle. Instead, she was regaled with Kent's poor story. How he wanted to see all the different types of Vivillon. It was sweet and left her a little misty-eyed.
When he handed over the Pokeball, she hesitated. "Are you sure?" Kent nodded, and insisted. "Ah, well if that's the case then of course! I am working to fill out my Pokedex and take a lot of pictures of all kinds of Pokemon so this will help me out greatly too. You can count on me, I'll get you all those Vivillon, I promise!"
OOC: Timeline wise this takes place after Ava's Silver fight. Scatterbug Name: Peaches Gender: Female Level: 5 OT: Kent (NPC) Attacks: Tackle, String Shot Ability: Shield Dust Nature/Personality: Curious

Life dealt Kent a horrible hand. His parents rushed him all around Johto to the best doctors that they could reasonably afford, though the answers always came back the same. The therapies they recommended could leave Kent’s delicate body worse off than it already was. It was a difficult decision, and one that left his parents in tears most nights. Conversations around the dinner table always led to the same things, even when Kent was kicking and screaming at them to just be normal, boring parents who talked about their jobs all day! Anything was better than listening to them walk on eggshells about his future or try to baby and protect him from himself.
Something was wrong with him. Something so fundamentally broken that he just couldn’t take the puzzle pieces together and connect them like you normally would. Parts were bent or torn, making the pieces no longer fit where they once did. He shaved his head to keep from dealing with the excessive shedding. He struggled through his coughing fits with his inhaler, some nights so completely bedridden that all he could do was stare out of his bedroom window longingly and dream of traveling the world with his beloved Vivillon. That would never happen now. How could he manage all the extensive tests and medications that he was expected to upkeep and travel the world as though nothing was wrong?
“Hey!” Kent pelted his chest with his fists as the coughing fits took over once more. He waved to Ava, hoping she would help him see his dream while there was still a chance. His mother tried to explain it as his body attacking itself aggressively. It was spreading through his…organs? He believed. Some of his cells just didn’t turn off like they should have, and it caused drastic changes throughout his body. He wasn’t too sure about all the super fine details, but he knew that the way he lived was painful. When Ava listened to his speech and agreed to help, Kent’s eyes widened with hope. “I really…appreciate this…miss! Please hurry…if it’s not…not too much to ask!” Kent stated as he coughed controllably. “I want to see them all in time…it’s always been my dream.” He nodded, before bidding her farewell with Peaches.
