Route 29 wasn't a long one, but Ava had travelled all the way to New Bark Town, had a fight as soon as she left the lab, and her excitement had left her a little exhausted. So she decided to find a nice place to sit and relax along the route. She set herself up in the shade of a tree and watched as Pokemon and Trainers walked on by. With her journal in her lap, she began to write out her adventures so far. She had a sandwich she'd packed herself sat on her knee, taking a bite now and then. Onion settled in next to her to have a nap herself. It was all very cosy, despite the summer winds kicking up a lot of dust. She was shielded quite nicely from the most of it where she was. She glanced up briefly to spot another fellow trainer, she seemed close to her in age. She smiled and waved, a friendly greeting. Hopefully she could make some friends, and they didn't just want to fight. Hm. Maybe she shouldn't have waved? Ah well. MidnightLugia

With a sleeping Charmander resting atop her shoulders and a Cottonee atop her head, Aurora "Rory" Hawthorne was enjoying the sunny weather as she explored this first route of the Johto region on her way to Cherrygrove City. The teenager had one more Pokémon who she could have let out, a Spearow she had captured within Professor Elm's lab, but considering the bird had not been in the happiest of moods during that incident... she wasn't quite comfortable with letting her out just yet. A rumbling emanating from the trainer's stomach, and the blush that came about when said rumbling was apparently enough to awaken the slumbering lizard, had Aurora realizing she had somehow forgotten to pack any snacks before leaving her home back in Snowpoint City. "Well... I suppose I will definitely need to look for food when we reach this next city. With a name like Cherrygrove, too, I wonder if they have any speciality cherry treats..." A gentle wiggling from Puffball, the jolly Grass/Fairy-type perched upon her chestnut brown curls, caused the Sinnoh native to look up and see another trainer comfortably sitting in the shade of a tree. Could this frizzy haired trainer have potential to be her very first friend of the Johto region? She looked to be about the same age as Aurora, clearly had an interest in writing based upon the journal in her lap, and the greeting of a smile & wave directed her way appeared genuinely friendly. Perfect! However, as Aurora raised her right arm to wave in response, a gust of summer wind took hold of Puffball and sent the little one flying off towards the tree this other girl was seated beneath. Whilst the Pokémon's expression was one of joy at an unexpected adventure, Aurora's rapidly changed fron joyful to anxious as she went running after her partner. Frustrated with herself at having risked this very occurrence by having the Cotton Puff Pokémon out on such a breezy day, Aurora called out as she continued to run, "Could you please help catch my Cottonee?!" cookiecat

Ava was glad the stranger smiled and waved back. She didn't seem in the mood to fight or looked antagonistic at all. It was refreshing to meet someone who just wanted to be friendly. Ava didn't expect every trainer she would come across to be a jerk, but it was nice to have that confirmation that this lady was nice. Or at the very least happy enough to wave at a fellow trainer.
The stranger looked about her age and had a Charmander and another Pokemon she didn't recognise with her. As the strange little cotton puff flew away in the wind, Ava rushed to her feet before she could be asked to help. Her sandwich was forgotten, falling to the floor. Her notebook went much the same way, pages splayed out amongst the grass.
"Onion, see if you can catch it with your Vine Whip!" Ava asked, arms up to try and catch the poor puff ball once it got closer. Onion opened an eye, unaware and unbothered by the commotion. She blinked up at the floating Cottonee, vines unravelling from beneath her bulb to reach up and gently wrap around the escaped Pokemon.
Ava let out a small sigh of relief as the Pokemon was brought down into her arms. "Hey there little one, you're safe now." She gave the fluffy Pokemon a small pat, waiting to hand it back over to their worried trainer. "Here ya go, all safe and sound." A smile graced her features, happy that a disaster was prevented. She could only imagine how distraught the trainer would be if she lost her Pokemon.
OOC: Sorry it took so long, I lost the post and had to rewrite it T^T

OOC: Likewise, sorry for my delay! 😅
"Thank you so very much for the quick help, both you and your partner," Aurora said, gratefully accepting Puffball as he was handed back to her. The tendency for the Cottonee to be so easily blown away will certainly need to be something she kept in mind in the future, for she couldn't expect that there would always be someone to help her out. "I'm Aurora, or Rory, by the way. This sleepy little Charmander upon my shoulders is Alexi, and the Cottonee your Bulbasaur helped rescue is Puffball."
With a cat-like stretch and wide yawn, Alexi blinked herself awake and looked around. She first noticed a kind-looking trainer with frizzy red hair, a color she particularly liked. Glancing down at the ground, the Charmander then saw a very chill Bulbasaur resting beneath the tree... which actually seemed like a pretty good idea. Climbing down from her perch upon Aurora's shoulders, Alexi proceeded to the base of the tree where she then curled up beside the Grass/Poison-type, flame-tipped tail resting just before her snout as she drifted off back to sleep.
"So, what are you doing out here today? I hope I didn't interrupt any plans of your with my Pokémon crisis," Aurora continued, a gentle smile coming to her face as she noticed Alexi curling up beside the Bulbasaur.
