The central part of the United States is being plumbed by tornadoes right about now and I'm kinda stuck in the middle of it. It isn't anything new to me (sadly), but everybody is hiding out in the basement of this truck stop that I'm at and I'm using the Wi-Fi to keep track of the storm system. Currently, only known tornado to touch down is about 40 miles west of me in Marienthal (which I was just there not too long ago as we drove by).
A customer came in claiming they saw a funnel cloud, so that's why everybody is just in the basement now. We're just being safe, since you never know.
But for me, it is hard not to stay at the windows and keeping a look out. I admit that I am scared of tornadoes, but I am also fascinated by them as well. Believe it or not, I am interested in becoming a storm chaser. But right now probably wouldn't be a good time to do that... right now, I'm just trying to remain calm and at the ready.

A storm chaser?! Wow, that's pretty different. I don't think I would have particularly guessed that from speaking to you about it but it does make a lot of sense when you piece together you growing up around and having experiences with them. You know, if you ever do decide to follow that dream, go for it 110%! Sucks to hear that you're trapped under one right now. As long as your safety and well being as well as your family are okay then that's the main thing. Last thing we'd all want is some blasted tornado scooping you up and stealing you away from the forum.

Don't worry, we don't seem to be under the microscope now. Tornadoes passed by to the east and west of us, but we got through unharmed. I can't really say the same for back home, which makes me kinda worried. I heard tornadoes have been sighted around the area of Wichita, leaving me worried about my friends. Dad decided we're just going to get a motel room here and just hang tight for awhile. Patrick is excited that he gets to miss another day of school.
On the bright side, I did get a call from Jen today. When she was at my house yesterday because I asked her to do some stuff on my old computer, she grabbed my cat and took him home with her just to be safe. So Moocow is safe.
