With the food problem solved the spinda didn't have a care in the world! Things were just perfect and it could focusing on frolicking and having fun, like now! It liked to battle, battles were fun, especially when the ones you were facing wasn't angry and accused you of all sorts of things, which you technically had done, but it soured the experience of the battle. The spotted bear narrowed its eyes playfully and watched Benny closely. "Isn't this becoming a bit repeating?" It teased as it watched the bulbasaur's vines fly towards it again. It smirked as it wobbled a bit, and then its stumbling made it dodge the two vines as the shot past. Had that been on purpose or a lucky accident? The spinda smirked and the grabbed hold of Benny's vines, "my turn! Time to spice things up!" It laughed and gave them a hard whip which sent a wave of movement down through the vines straight at Benny! It barely did a thing, other than feel rather uncomfortable at the base for him, and the spinda looked puzzled, why hadn't it worked better? Benny turned the tip of his vines around slowly, with them being behind the spinda it didn't saw them before it was too late. Benny wrapped them around one of the bear's ankles and pulled it to the ground. "How did you do that?" It laughed as it let go of Benny's vines and pushed itself up again. Making it more dizzy hadn't worked but they did manage to get the bear in a very good mood. Someone cleared his throat near Camielle, and he would continue to do so until she turned around and gave him some attention. It was the man of the garden she had just helped, he looked troubled. "Yeah.. Great work with the bushes.." Youngman began and then sighed, "Daphne at the edge of the forest says that the troublemakers are back," he said bitterly, "I did worry that this lone one wasn't the gang that has continually rampaged my garden but I didn't say anything as I hoped it would be it," he said guiltily. "They always come late at night and I'm somehow always elsewhere or when I think I'm chasing them off.. when I return my vegetables has still been ransacked. Valiant, my volbeat has done a great job but he got injured last and is at the pokemon center, and I really hoped this was it even if it was at the wrong time and much easier than usual, but I guess it's not, and now they don't even need to trick me since I have no pokemon to help guard the garden.." he rambled for a bit, before he sighed defeatedly and looked even more guiltily at Camielle, "Could I be so lucky you might want to help me with my problem? I wasn't sure if you came over as response to my posting or not. But I'll reward you if you want," he tried to tempt her and ran a hand through his hair. "It will probably require some sort of trap, or ambush for them to not escape and go behind my back again," he mumbled thoughtfully. Of course, perhaps the berry bushes would be the solution here as well and the troublemakers just didn't know of them yet. Newly planted bushes just didn't start out producing a lot of berries though, it would at least take a few days, if not longer, so what to do in that period? Camielle Matas This Spinda was something, alright. It was certainly in way better spirits than before, and it even seemed to enjoy the tussle of a friendly battle. Completely the opposite of this morning when it was scowling and had it’s claws bared. It was having fun now.
Though the news from the neighboring gentleman was concerning. That perchance this may solve the issue, but perhaps there’s a chance it hadn’t. Traps, ambush, scare tactics; these were all risky when it came to wild pokemon. She would have to give the idea some thought after the current battle, but she was always wanting to help the community.
With her focus back to Benny, she shifted her gaze between the two pokemon. The Spinda had used Benny’s own vines against him. Clever. But lets bring it home with a good head-to-head move.
“Alright Benny, lets bring it all home with a solid Tackle attack!”

The first page 2-- yay! Thank you all ^_^

Benny and the Spinda continued to almost dance as they battled. The wild spinda bobbed and weaved and wobbled, lunging forward to tackle the bulbasaur as its weight tipped forward and carried forth into the little dino's side. Then it grabbed a hold of the bulb and giggled a bit, well aware that a vine whip was come around to grab it and probably give it a swipe or a toss. As those vines tangled the little bear, it squirmed and waved its paws, <Okay, okay! I give up! You win, friend. You win. If you're actually serious about that whole offer to come with you...I guess I'll go. Does that mean you're gonna like...throw one of those weird ball things? What are they anyway? And why do they make bright flashes of light?> Youngman watched the sight, still concerned and still waiting for a reply. His mind was still awash with worries about more destruction and how those little berry bushes wouldn't be producing fruit for at least a little while. No doubt that this Spinda wasn't the sole culprit of his garden being menaced.
Benny gained +3 LVs for defeating Spinda and grew to LV 8 Benny learned the move Growth
Due to new player protection, you may use a pokeball to catch a fainted pokemon! Would you like to use a pokeball to catch the spinda?
Note there has been a change in how mods are added to the list! Please check here upon replying.

Camielle Matas Benny and the Spinda progressed through the battle with almost a sense of teamwork in their moves. Now quite looking to faint the other, but not taking the other’s attempts lightly. They… were both enjoying the battle. Having fun. Honestly, that’s what things were about. Camielle looked to the young man and gave a nod of her head. “Of course I’ll help. I did see the post on the community board, and I was going to help. If right after this I can get my Bulbasaur healed up at the pokemon center, we can check on your pokemon as well then head over to help see what this food-snatching is all about.” Camielle replied to the young man as she gave him her undivided focus. Though in doing so, Camielle missed when the Spinda and Benny had stopped fighting. But when she looked back to the two, Benny was setting the Spinda down and talking to it kindly. They both looked tired. The Spinda looked a little more worse for wear, but Benny was already a little tired from all the helpful work he did today. Both of them needed rest, and a good meal. But if she wanted to take care of the Spinda… That means she has to catch it. Camielle removed her backpack and set it on the floor. Pulling one of the given pokeballs from her bag, she activated the device to have it enlarge but didn’t move to capture the Spinda just yet. -------------“Oh, the balls?” Benny replied as he set the Spinda down and retracted his vines.
“It doesn’t hurt. It’s a very safe place to sleep. It’s like… being in the egg. I’m not sure what the flash you are referring to. I have never seen a flash.” Benny then looked over his shoulder to the humans. As he did so, he saw Camielle pull a ball from her bag. He didn’t feel compelled to it, so it was not his ball. Still, he only saw one of those when he was picked up at his young age. He hardly ever seen them since he’s been in one.
“Hey, Spinda.” Camielle began.
“We’re going to help things in this town for a while, before heading out. If you want to join me and Benny on our adventure through the region, outside this town, I think me and Benny both like to have you join us.” As genuine and heartfelt as it was, Camielle let Spinda make the choice.
“Plus if you join us, I’m sure the human isn’t going to let us ever go hungry. That’s always a plus. I do know a little bit about humans. They make living pretty simple and easy, and there’s less chance of getting hurt on your own. Plus… It’s really nice to know you’re not going to be alone.” Benny added with a bit of a somber tone near the end of him speaking. Defiantly hinting at something that he didn't want to go into at the moment.
Certainly with the compassion from Camielle and the promise of food and company from Benny, the Spinda’s choice would be seemingly straightforward.
All that was left was for the Spinda to tap the button on the ball and let the device capture it.
Camielle set the ball on the floor as it moved it’s usual side to side to indicate the pokemon within registering with the device. As it stilled, Camielle picked it up and pressed the button to let the Spinda back out.
“Oh there is a flash of light. I don’t know what that is.” Benny answered the Spinda’s earlier question.
Camielle smiled at her two pokemon, then stood up to look at the young man.
“Alright. Let’s head to the pokemon center then get ready to go see who’s causing the trouble in the gardens.”
------------------------------------------- Notes: Yes, Spinda will be captured, and is promised to be spoiled. Thus, it will look forward to that promise being fulfilled.
I’m up for helping the young man, but I’m wondering if that will be in this thread, or if I can make a new one. I got a Pidgey from the adoption center, and would like to have that pokemon get some screen time. Plus healing the party would be a good idea. 😊

On the way to the pokemon center, to have a refreshing healing session in the AC, Camielle would pass by more houses. Cute little homes with dainty little white painted fences and pretty gardens. Some even had berry bushes like the ones she planted for the young man during the Spinda taming. So perhaps it was inevitable that more than one person in this neighborhood was having problems with the wildlife invading their cute little gardens. An old lady would let out a furious screech from her porch and very slowly hobble her way down the front steps, cane in hand. "Getoff! Shoo! Go away you fiend!" It might seem to the young woman that she was being screamed at...perhaps up until the lady added, "You red menace." Okay, maybe not, her hair was quite red, though that wasn't a reason to be called a menace. "Stop eating my berries! Those aren't for you!" Ah, there we go. Perched on an especially ripe looking oran berry was a big, fat wurmple that appeared to have glutted itself on at least one of said berries already.

ooc// All pokemon are auto healed at the end of battles unless you are in a universal thread (like Ilex) or on a quest. If you'd like to progress to the next area, you will need to start a new thread, but if you'd like to continue this plotline here, you're welcome to continue here!

Camielle Matas Camielle and her party were now on their way to the Pokemon Center to have a nice lunch and short rest. Of course there was the task of assisting the other farmhand in the near future; but for now it was just nice to relax.
Spinda, now named ‘Candy’ absolutely demolished a box of berry-flavored poke’candies that Camielle had made for and the new pokemon she were going to choose for starting this new journey. Well… that’s okay. Because at least everyone had a sandwich and were feeling much better and rested after the morning and early afternoon’s work.
And just her luck, even Camielle’s parents gave her a phone call to check in.
So of course Camielle showed her parents her two pokemon. Bulbasaur, they knew. A Spinda—now that was a exciting new pokemon. Her mom clearly loved the bunny/bear pokemon more than her father did; but they both were happy that everyone looked happy and healthy. And even as a surprise—they sent over a Pidgey. How thoughtful.
And when it was time to say farewell and move out for the rest of the day, the small party exited the Pokemon Center and did some light stretching in the sun.
“Well that was a nice rest. Now we can—”
Right as Camielle was stretching her other arm across her chest, she heard someone yelling about some other sort of pest problem.
She waved her pokemon to follow alongside her, then Camielle went to investigate the issue.
And that issue was…
“Wurmple: the Worm pokemon.
Wurmple has suction pads at the tips of its feet, which allow it to cling to glass or tree branches without slipping. It can spit white silk that turns gooey when exposed to the air. To defend itself, it can release poison from its tail spikes, which can weaken foes. Wurmple's diet consist of leaves and sap, the latter of which it gets by pulling bark off trees. Wurmple are abundant and live in forests. It is unknown why Wurmple evolves into either Silcoon or Cascoon, and not even Wurmple's appearance gives a hint to which species it will evolve into. Taillow, Swellow, and Starly are natural predators of Wurmple.”
“Well… I don’t know what either of those last few pokemon are, but let’s just be careful. Benny—can you lift the Wurmple up and bring it out of the garden?
Candy, can you get one of the Berry scraps from the bush we cleaned up earlier?”
And as the rest of the pokemon were beginning to fulfill the request so the old lady stopped yelling at the bug pokemon, Peachy the Pidgey was eying the Wurmple like it was a supple little snack. She didn’t make any moves, but she did narrow her eyes and gently bob her head like ‘yeah that’s girl-dinner’.

The wurmple was happy to keep glutting itself. Nom nom nom. The old lady shrieking was entirely ignored in favor of taking a BIIIIG bite out of this beautiful oran berry. Crunch! It made happy worm noises and wiggled as it started to snarf down this delightful snack. However, as it ate, something grabbed it. The little red worm froze, the barbs along its back pricking upright. Benny would feel discomfort picking the wurmple up, but the bug had not yet launched any attacks. However, upon being lifted from its treat, it began to struggle and squirm, flailing in abject horror! NOOOOOO! Don't take it away from its fooooood! Its little limbs flailed and it reached back towards the tasty berry, eyes all watery as it floundered. <Put me baaaack!> it cried, spitting sticky webbing down at Benny. <I was eating!>
A [LV 7] Wurmple is offended by being moved! Please send out a pokemon to battle
