Enchanted Orchard: Tristan's First Farfetch'd Encounter

Freeze right where you are you glutton! Ice Beam from Nami, will it hit the duck or the leek, who knows!?

Had Tristan chose to indulge himself in some of the delectable looking berries that brought flavor to the Enchanted Orchard, he would simply be playing a game of catch-up as he noticed a particular light-brown duck pokemon helping itself to the plethora of berries as it swung its leek with the precision of a ninja. Tristan observed the wild duck pokemon for a few moments to assess its behavior, the conclusion that the teenager had come to was that the the avian was a literal glutton, the fruit and berries stood nigh a chance against its bottomless pit of a stomach. So as to not spook Sylvester's Farfetch'd off, Tristan slowly retrieved a pokeball from his belt and released Nami the Wartortle from her resting place and spoke to her in a lowered tone of voice,

"Nami girl, this cheeky duck is who we're trying to retrieve for a young man called Sylvester, reckon you can help me with this one?"

Nami nodded her acknowledgement to Tristan's request, she was both eager to assist her trainer in this mission, and excited to be provided with the opportunity to play in a real life game of lost and found,

"Thanks my girl, let's put a freeze on it with Ice Beam!"

Tristan's Wartortle quietly went about her business as a light blue ball of energy formed in front of her mouth as she prepared to fire multiple light blue beams of energy from the ball towards her avian opponent. If Sylvester managed to lose track of his old man's Farfetch'd again, Tristan was extremely confident that providing the wild duck pokemon with a basket full of fruit and berries would keep it happy, in the meantime however Tristan was content with putting a freeze on the wild duck pokemon's antics and returning it to Sylvester before the young man found himself in trouble with his Dad.

Despite Tristan's best efforts not to scare the Farfetch'd the duck was quite terrified that he was going to try and return him to Sylvester a fate worse than death as far as Farfetch'd was concerned. It held it's leek proudly before charging at Nami however it had grossly underestimated the Wartortle's speed as within the blink of an eye an Ice Beam came flying towards it. Somehow the duck was able to both avoid becoming frozen and being knocked out but not by much in the later case as it tried to stay focused. Once it could see straight again it continued it's dimwitted assault unleashing a moderate Cut attack on Nami who quickly shook off the pain from the attack.

It was quite clear after the first round that Farfetch'd was quite outmatched in this battle and brute force was not going to win this battle. The only hope it had was that either Nami or Tristan would make a huge blunder allowing it to make a comeback from a otherwise lopsided battle.

No ducking around!

The facial expression from Sylvester's Farfetch'd was like something out a Looney Toons episode, the shocked look was truly a priceless reaction. The gutsy duck pokemon charged proudly towards Nami with its leek in hand, ready to defend itself from its pursuant. Unfortunately for the brown colored avian, the difference in speed between it and Tristan's Wartortle became rapidly apparent as the Farfetch'd felt the freezing impact of Nami's Ice Beam attack. After a few moments spent recovering and figuring out its bearings, the duck pokemon lunged towards Nami and used it's leek to cut the turtle pokemon across the face.

"We truly mean you no harm Farfetch'd, we're only trying to help out a new friend"

Sylvester's Farfetch'd could have willingly given itself up to Tristan after the first round of back and forth combat, that was not the route it appeared to be keen on choosing however. The duck pokemon was preparing itself for another attack and so Nami quietly went about her business without need for a request from Tristan. Nami begun preparing her Ice Beam attack once again for what would no doubt be a definitive blow.

This was not looking good, not at all but the farfetch'd was not ready to give up. It certainly would rather spent its day gorging on berries on its self appointed vacation than slaving away whacking trees day in and day out. Of course it wasn't hard worked but everyone like a day off more than a workday, right?
The bird was not used to battle, it was helping its trainer cutting down trees after all, and with most wild pokemon around here being bugs, it hadn't struggled for long, so this was new. Nami was fast, and she hit hard, way too hard, but Farfetch'd could hit hard too, it was downing trees on its own! If it could take down a tree, it could take down a single blue pokemon, it just needed to hit her before she hit it again.
Easy peacy, right?

Farfetch'd paid no mind to Tristan, it was all focused on taking down Nami so it could continue with its impromptu day off, there were more berries to eat. It ran towards Nami but in the last moment it spread its wings and soared to the sky, which made the ice beam blast past where it had just been. It look down surprised and then smirked, now it got her! She missed her attack so it was it's turn now!
It turned around and dived towards her, only to get a straight hit by another ice beam which iced it over so much it crash landed in a spray of ice particles. It groaned and shivered, quietly calling for mercy.

Nami subdued the farfetch'd easily enough and gains (20*50) 1000 exp! (1000/1950)
She has 81% [58/72] HP left
