Stolen Starter [Mod]

Drayden had arrived in the town of New Bark, unsure where to go next, as he was on a mission to find and join Team Rocket. While he was wandering throughout the small town, he heard about a Pokemon Lab where the Professor was giving out one of three Pokemon to new trainers. Now where was the fun in taking free Pokemon, Drayden would much rather steal it from the Professor, maybe give himself a little bit of an adrenaline rush while he was at it. Drayden looked around the city for a while before, easily finding the Pokemon Lab. He walked up to it and smirked a bit as he scoped the area out. 

Drayden was able to see that other trainers were walking into the front door in order to receive their Pokemon. Drayden figured he would get more of a rush, by going in through the window without anyone noticing and possibly getting a kid's hopes destroyed when there wasn't enough of a Pokemon to give out, Drayden smirked to himself as he walked closer towards the lab. Now Drayden didn't need to have one of these Pokemon, as he stole a bunch of Pokemon and Items from a kid he ran into on the road, but when would be the next time he would have a chance to do something like this. 

Drayden looked around before quickly jimmying the window of the Lab open and quickly sneaking into it without getting caught. That was the easy part, as now he had to find the Pokemon. Drayden snuck around the inside of the Lab, doing his best to not make any noise and avoiding getting seen. Drayden figured he would take one of each Pokemon that was being offered. He walked around the inside of the Lab before he was able to enter a room where it was nothing but Pokeballs among Pokeballs on the walls, split up into three sections for Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur. Draydon figured this was going to be a piece of cake, as he walked over to the Charmander section and quickly picked up one of the Pokeballs and pocketed it. 

Drayden was on his way over to grab a Squirtle and a Bulbasaur as well, but as he was making his way, he could hear someone outside the door, and soon, the door was being opened. Drayden quickly entered through another doorway, and it seemed to be an empty room, nothing much in it. Drayden peeked through a crack into the previous door, but wasn't going to be able to go back for the other 2 Pokemon as, there was a big group of kids getting Pokemon, and Drayden didn't have time to wait. He walked over to the window and looked out it before quickly exiting through it. He pulled out the Charmander Pokeball and tossed it up into the air before catching it. He figured at least he got 1 of them. Drayden put the Pokeball away before heading off to try and find the Team Rocket HQ.

Professor Elm worked tirelessly with the children gathered about him. There were three who recently aged up and were promised their first starter, with each clamoring with wide and open arms in hopes that they would get the best of the three options. He calmed them down easily, managing to get the young ones to sit down and wait patiently, before disappearing down one long hallway and returning with only two balls in his hands. “Someone’s stolen one of the starters. Please, alert the police!” He ordered, causing his assistants to each rush for the nearest phone.

Meanwhile, as Drayden made his mistake, a young redhaired woman dressed in white shirt with a large red ‘R’ painted over its center stepped out in front of Drayden with a smirk. “I like your style, kid. Ever thought of joining a real gang, and not just sticking to these ‘low brow’ jobs? I can help you, if you can prove yourself.” She raised an eyebrow, then tossed her ball with the click of a button. A long and slender purple snake appeared and hissed. It rattled the tip of its tail in warning.

“I’ll warn you now. There’s a few things we required first. But I ain’t tellin’ you nothin’ if you can’t beat it out of me first.” Spunky and crass, she was more than apt to handle most of the ‘starter trainers’ who hopped out of the lab along the route. Usually, she’d just beat them and steal this Pokemon. Though, witnessing someone climbing out of a window to not get caught…ok, yeah. This guy wasn’t your average trainer. Question now was…would Drayden want the information she had? And could he win his first match to prove so?

Drayden has caught Grunt Fiona's attention!

Drayden turned when he heard someone speaking to him. He saw the logo on the chest and gave a slight smirk. This was it, this was Drayden’s moment, he had thought to himself as he knew this was going to be his way into Team Rocket’s ranks. “Drayden’s the name and stealing's my game.” He said with a slight chuckle. “You guys are just the people I have been looking for. Been wanting to join you guys for a while now. You guys are hard to find.” He added as he watched the woman send out a Pokemon for a battle.



Drayden was ready, but which Pokemon should he choose? One of the ones he had stolen from that other trainer. Or better yet, the Pokemon he had just stolen? He pulled out his newly acquired Charmander and spun the Pokeball on his finger a bit before pushing it up into the air and snatching it. “Oh goodie. I can’t wait for this.” He said as he tossed the Pokeball out in front of him. “Let's go Infernus!” He shouted as his Charmander appeared in a flash of light from the Pokeball. The Charmander stretched a bit before turning towards his new Owner, and then turning towards the enemy Ekans. "Ember!" Drayden shouted as his Pokemon then proceeded to open its mouth and shoot small fireballs out at the Snake like Pokémon before it.

"Been wanting to join us for a while~?" Oh ho, so this wasn't just some punk with a stealing streak, but a real go-getter. Someone who knew that Team Rocket was an organization to put your trust into if you're out to make some cash via nefarious deeds. Perfect. Fiona flipped her hair, "Well then, you better work hard to beat me in this battle or I won't tell you how to get your foot in the door~ Team Rocket doesn't accept just anyone after all. And a passion for stealing pokemon and a knack for being sneaky aint everything, y'know."

Ekans hissed at the charmander, intimidating with an unblinking stare.

One bite and bam, there could be trouble!

"Ekans! Show them what you've got with a wrap, that way it can get out of this bind~" The ekans complied, lunging forward, enduring the burn of ember to coil tightly around its new prey and SQUEEEZE.

Drayden gave the Rocket Grunt a smirk, as she said he needed to work hard at beating her in the battle. “Oh, I have every intention of beating you in this battle.” Drayden said with the same smirk on his face. “Joining Team Rocket and rising through the ranks is what I have dreamed of for a long time.” He said as his voice got a little more maniacal than before.

He watched on as the snake Pokemon wrapped his body around his fire lizard Pokemon. Drayden clenched his fist a bit hoping his Pokemon wasn't too injured as he pointed at the Ekans. “Burn him with another Ember Infernus!” He shouted as his Pokemon opened his mouth once more to release a small fireball from its mouth towards the Ekans.

"Not just joining, but rising through the ranks, hm? My my, you aren't the average little trainer who wanders out of that lab, are you? Then again, you didn't leave the normal way. If you want to get through the ranks and be more than a grunt, you will need to learn to be more cautious, friend. After all, while those fools have little idea of who grabbed a pokemon and ran, I caught you~ Cops might be fools, but every so often one has access to more than one braincell at a time. And an overconfident grunt is a jailed grunt and wouldn't that be a pity?" She watched the battle with interest and a smirk.

"Ekans, poison that charmander with your poison sting~" she called out.

The pair exchanged attacks again. Neither searing flame nor toxic barbs left behind a status, and while Ekans' attack was weak, it still had the chamander squeezed in its coils, passively doing more damage.

Drayden just stared a bit before giving the Grunt a chuckle as she spoke out about how he was sloppy getting caught escaping the Lab after stealing his Pokemon. “You make it seem like it wasn’t my intention to get caught.” He said with a sly grin on his face as he looked at the Rocket Grunt. “How else would I be able to test the strength of my new Pokemon?” He said as he turned to look at his fire lizard. “Plus, I want people to fear me and my capabilities.” He said with a slightly cocky attitude.

Drayden then turned his head back towards the opposing Ekans. “Light him up once more, Infernus!” Drayden shouted. “Ember, let ‘em burn!” He added with a sadistic smile on his face once more. His charmander nodded its head as it opened its mouth once again, in order to shoot the small fireball from its mouth at the sneaky Snake Pokemon.

"You wanted to get caught and be feared? Honey, a little petty burglary is grunt work. Hardly mastermind work. Certainly nothing that scares anyone other than housewives and small children. You will have to step up your game, punk~ Stealing pokemon is literal child's play." Fiona said dismissively despite her dire situation this battle. "Also, if you're TOO obvious, the coppers are gonna be knocking you down a peg before the admins even notice you exist. Now, Ekans, keep up the pressure on that lizard. You can take the heat! No matter what, hang in there until the bitter end."

Her eyes gleamed.

She was clearly poking at Drayden a bit. He was too young and cocky to match up to the old guard when the Rockets were in their heyday. But, she saw potential if they smoothed out those edges.

More poison barbs and flames were exchanged. The ekans was hanging on by a thread.

Drayden just gave the grunt a sly smirk on his face as he listened to her ramble on and on about stealing is very weak and being caught and how the cops would get to him before he would be able to get far. “You underestimate my abilities tenfold, I see.” He said as their Pokemon battled back and forth with one another, just as they bickered back and forth with their words. “I’ve trained in the art of illusion, magic and misdirection my entire life. The cops won't be able to lay a finger on me.” He gave out a slight chuckle. “When the higher ups of Team Rocket see what I'm capable of, it will just be a matter of time until I'm your boss, telling you what to do.” He said to the grunt with a death-like stare.



Drayden could see that his Pokemon was feeling weak from this battle, but could see that it was almost over, and that was a good sign for him and Infernus. “Infernus, finish off her little snake with a final Ember.” He shouted to his Pokemon as Infernus nodded his head and opened his mouth for the final time and shot out one last fireball from its mouth to the opposing Ekans in hopes to try and end this fight between the two of them once and for all.

Fiona tossed her head back and laughed. She didn't even seem to care that she just lost the battle. She merely returned her ekans and gave her opponent a smirk, "Ooooh, big man thinks he'll be the boss one day~ Well, just so you know, you won't climb the ladder without licking a few boots first. Nobody gets made an admin in a day. Anyway, a promise is a promise. I did say I'd tell you how to get...noticed." She took out a makeup compact and started to touch up her lipstick. "To start, don't go around telling people you want to join, that just makes us look bad. And second..." She snapped the compact shut. "We'll find you when we think you're ready. I suggest heading to Violet. A shiny little badge might be just the thing to catch a recruiter's eye. Now. Toodaloo, hotshot~!"

She flippantly tossed him a couple bills and scampered off, her laughter echoing in the trees even after she vanished from sight.

Drayden now had a lead.

It was just now a matter of what he did with it.

Drayden smirked as Infernus delivered the final blow to the Grunt’s Ekans. He returned his pokemon, and gave the Pokeball he was in, a little peck of the lips as he smirked at his opponent. He gave her a blank stare as she informed him on where to go next. “Violet, it shall be then.” He said in a soft tone as he nodded his head. “Can’t wait to work with you again.” He said with a smirk as the lady walked away, off to do who knows what. Drayden now had a destination in his sights on where to go. "Oh goodie, can’t wait for new playmates.” He said to himself with a slight chuckle as he set off to Cherrygrove as that was the city in between New Bark and Violet.

Drayden then proceeded to make his way to Route 29, which he would need to do in order to get to Cherrygrove City. From some talkers back in New Bark, he had heard about a strong trainer looking for trainer battles, and Drayden was looking for just that as well. Drayden didn't know the trainer's name, but he did know that they had long red hair.
