A disappointing failure. The Sports Balls he threw seemed to be completely ineffectual, popping open almost instantly with each one he threw. Veluzaur likewise noticed the Bug had chosen to go on the defensive, its body shining.
Vartio couldn't believe what he was seeing, it was almost like the Beedrill was giving sympathy to his situation. Vartio had already estimated it was way too weak to be a viable option to attack it, but now it had effectively given him a free pass TO attack it. As long as he didn't hit a critical point, it should be within reason. A risk he'd have to take to save some sanity.
"Veluzaur, get in a quick Aqua Jet!" Vartio called out. Veluzaur excitedly launched forwards with impressive speed, and Vartio would wait until it hit before pulling out and tossing one more Sports Ball.
