Dusty the Scatterbug wandered through the quaint streets of New Bark Town, his tiny legs moving slowly as it explored every nook in detail, all with a hundred-yard stare. His gray and white body blended seamlessly with the dusty sidewalks, allowing him to blend in and roll in the gravelly parts. Though, his presence was obvious any time a passerby kicked up dust, causing the bug Pokémon to sneeze and be blown back a bit. If Dusty were any other Pokémon, he'd likely be at risk for a trainer trying to catch him, but by just wandering around in the town? He figured no person wanted a bug-type, let alone one of his species. While listening to children play and Pokémon cry out from near and far, one voice seemed to call out above the rest. A salesman dressed in a black suit and red polo shirt seems to enamor a large crowd of people near the Pokémon Laboratory. He seemed to have a table set up with some odd, round device. "Step right up and purchase this one of a kind creation! The Aura Ball is a creation of the rare Pokémon Porygon and inspired by the growth of the company behind it! This brand new Poké Ball can catch and store any number of pokemon, all in one ball! It even has a feature to send the Pokémon you aren't using to our very own Professor Elm for his honorable research! But wait, there's even more! The next 500 people to send 100 Pokémon to our dear professor's endeavors are entered into a raffle for a grand prize of $50,000! Now step right up and purchase your very own Aura Ball, selling at half it's retail price, today only $1,000! What a steal!"The blank stare of the Dusty looks to the commotion, using a string shot to climb up a lamp post for a better view. Huh... People really like Pokémon and money... Do they really value us like simple objects? Humans can be so simple-minded.- - - - - Vaygen

Kitamina Willow Volone barreled through the crowd of people who were standing by a weird looking building. He didn’t care that a human fell to the ground, nor did he listen to the angry yells at his back. He had one intention, to find a Pokemon worthy of battle. Pig nose snorting, he scented the air. There were a few Pokemon within the throng of people, but none were worth battling. Volone would never admit out loud, but those Pokemon were far too strong for him to battle. He had already lost once, to his new trainer Kit. But that was besides the point. Volone was now a partner, and he had to find a way to make his trainer proud. He knew he was weak, he hated to think about that fact. But he had had too many siblings back in the jungle he had been born in. His mother had had to care for twelve children and lacked the time to properly aid Volone in his training.
Being out of the forest, away from his overbearing mother and many siblings Volone could do whatever he wanted. His hunger for new found freedom had brought him here, to this small town with stinky people. He may or may not have run away from Kit. At first, training with her had seemed like a brilliant idea, but she was too slow. Kit could not swing from the trees, when she walked it was like she was moving in reverse. Volone wanted to adventure, train and live his life on the fast lane. Volone would find his trainer again at somepoint. She would more than likely be in the same place he had left her, the slow, slow human.
Volone was so caught up in his musings that he crashed into the side of a man. The young Mankey shook his head as the man righted himself. He wore a fancy red and black suit, the collar sharp around his neck. Volone instantly hated this man, he didn’t know if it was because of the guys face or the way he held himself. “AHH! Our first volunteer for the Aura Ball!” The man spoke said. “Now who owns this…” The man frowned, taking in Volones small stature and ragged appearance. Volone knew what that look meant, it meant that the man was unimpressed with the Mankey. It was not his fault that he was young and untested! Volone pounded his small fists against his chest, snorting hot air through his nose. He may not have been the biggest, or prettiest Pokemon around but he had a heart of gold.
The man continued to look around the crowd, but no one stood up to claim Volone. Of course, no one would! His trainer was not here. A dark look crossed the red suited mans face. “Well, no matter, in the pokeball you go!” The man reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a weird looking pokeball. But Volone was not having it! With a screech the Mankey jumped to the side, once again pushing at people. With his chest heaving, Volone climbed up a near by lamp post to get a better view of the surrounding area. At the top of the post Volone grunted in surprise, he was not the only one who had thought that climbing was the best idea. A small Scatterbug had taken up residence on the post. “Hey! What are you doing in my spot?” Volone asked.

Dusty was enjoying the view: the crowds of people ignoring him, the sun on his back... It almost made him want to fall asleep. That was, until a ruckus was made with a seemingly stray Mankey, disturbing the scene from interested, murmuring people... To angry ones, one man even grabbing his knee as he fell.
The Scatterbug yawns, straightening himself up before watching from above. At least it provided for some entertainment. While trying to follow the path of the tempered Mankey, Dusty looks from disturbed person to disturbed person, before feeling vibrations in the foundation he was standing on.
Thankfully, this lazy Scatterbug wasn't useless, making sure to use its string shot to secure himself to the metallic post. His wide, staring eyes look right at the Mankey. Oh, boy... At least I should resist any attack it throws at me.
"You know that nobody owns this spot, correct? Besides, there are plenty of other climbing spots to disturb..." Dusty tilts his head to the side, almost analyzing the other Pokémon. "Aren't your type more acclimated to forests and fields?"

Kitamina Willow Sniffing the other pokemon with his large nose, Volone ended up sneezing all over the Scatturbug. The Scatturbug did not smell bad, it was just covered in this dust that tickled his nose hairs. Hanging from the lamp post with one arm, the Mankey wiped at his nostrils with the other. The Scatterbugs reply had Volone pounding his chest with his one free hand. "I claim this spot! Don't you see, it is the best spot!" Volone was never one to back down from a challenge and it would seem as though this bug was trying to act as though he was not larger than it. The Mankey swung his small bulk to the top of the lamp, balancing on his feet. He was made for object like this, even if it was man-made. The lamp post was just like a branch from his home. "This is just like a human-made jungle!" He grumbled, puffing out his chest. Volone was a show off, wanting everyone to be impressed with him. "I could jump from this post, to that..." Volone pointed to a roof top that was actually quite far away. He paused, looking around and not seeing anything really close enough that he could safely reach. Then he saw the red suited man again, the one that had been cruel and had tried to suck him up in a wierd pokeball. "man's head with no problem!"
