Pokemon's a fad? Pffffft! Yeah right, it's an absolute worldwide craze which has spanned generations of consoles due to its insane popularity. Which leads me to my question. Which console would you say holds the definitive Pokemon experience for you? For me I am vastly tempted to say the DS for the sheer amount of Pokemon games released on it. You have Gen IV, HGSS remakes, Pokemon Ranger, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon spin offs (Trozei and Dash) and the soon to be released Gen V games. Even then I bet i'm missing out on a few.

DS, there is no question in my mind. GB/GBC were awesome for starting it off, and GBA had some of the great games, but DS allows you to play the games that you mentioned AND all of the GBA games including the remakes of the Gen I games. You can even import Pokemon from Gen III onto your Gen IV games and battle/trade over wi-fi. N64 gets an honorable mention for Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 since it was awesome to see your Pokemon in 3D. As a note though, I'm biased as FR/LG and HG/SS are my favorites.

As much as the DS may have done in recent times, I'll vote for the classic GameBoy. Introducing the Pokemon games to us first and being roughly the only game on the GB that we ever made use of the Link cables for, it was the birth of this crazy trend. If you're as old as I am, tell me that you do not remember the days where you'd take your old block GameBoy to school and you'd battle and trade your favorite Pokemon with all the other kids?
The original GameBoy all the way. Retro.

N64 gets an honorable mention for Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 since it was awesome to see your Pokemon in 3D. N64 WAS a pretty good console for Pokemon games. I still pop in Snap now and again just to enjoy taking a few pictures here and there for a laugh. With the Wii's controls it's odd they haven't revisited the premise. I did love Pokemon Puzzle League as well, despite playing that for the first time about a year ago. The original GameBoy all the way. Retro. As much as i'd love to say the original GameBoy for the fact it was where the series was birthed, I can't quite bring myself to it. RBY were fantastic games but they just had so many inconsistencies with them. I seem to remember someone mentioning that Focus Energy actually did the OPPOSITE of raising Crits and Struggle not working on Ghost types. I'll have to find that list wherever it may be lurking.
