Adian had been wandering for awhile. And by wandering, I meant lost. Charmander had already found a spot to perch on Adian's bag. Charmader used the strap as back support and leaned against Adian's hip, the gentle swaying making the little pokemon's eyes droop. Adian knew he must have taken a wrong trail, as the map no longer made sense. He'd spent over an hour trying to retrace his steps, and found he'd only been going in circles. Adian chose to just start following the trail after awhile, after all, it had to lead to somewhere. Or he hoped so. Adian wasn't worried too much about supplies, he knew there was enough food and water to keep them content for a few more days, but... He wasn't feeling getting lost so early. Eventually he came upon the warehouse. An idea sparked into his that perhaps there was a better map. Stepping inside, Charmader's eyes opened a little, concern lining his face. Adian ran his hand absently against it's head, "It'll be okay boy, just need to find a map.
OOC: Short, but I gotta go now D: Can't wait to RP though <3

OOC: Short's fine, after all, this is unexplored territory for us all here at ZZ. So i'm sure the whole forum's watching on how we fare. Sorry for taking so long to reply, it's been a bit hectic my end lately. BIC: The dusty atmosphere inside the seemingly abandoned warehouse was definitely an unnerving sight for the majority of those who dared stumble across the derelict location. It was a pretty rare occurrence for someone to actually interact with the building and yet; here was a youthful guy standing at the entrance. Greeted with a hollow sense of emptiness except a few odd bits of machinery littered around the place, there was something unmistakeably amiss about the area. The fact it didn't quite feel truly abandoned may have influenced this feeling. A heavy hand fell down on Adian's shoulder and swivelled him around to face an unfamiliar face. In front of him, stood a fairly massive skinhead, who needless to say, was looking pretty intimidating. He grinned derisively and stared down at Adian. "Haha, you lookin' a long way from home kiddo. Sure ya momma's not looking for ya?" He barged in through the door way a bit more, forcing Adian to retreat backwards in the process. He cracked his knuckles and clicked a few bones in his neck before putting up his fists. "I'll teach ya a thing or two about mooching on my territory!" His hand lurched forward but bended down towards his belt and picked out a Pokeball from his waist. "Get ready, punk! Where i'll be sending ya, you won't be needing no map." Roughneck Rocko wants to fight! And he's pretty rowdy for one!

It took Adian more than a minute to realize what was going on. He was blindly turned, verbally assaulted, then pushed backwards-- All without realizing it. Adian must have looked stupid as he blinked in obvious confusion as all this was going on. It wasn't even until the large man pulled out a pokeball that Adian began to realize what exactly was going on. He had only walked in here a moment ago, looking for a map, and now he was about to enter his first trainer battle. Taking a deep breathe in, Adian steadied himself, trying to ignore the shocked feeling inside him. Every trainer he'd met as a younger boy was so nice and willing to help. This man, on the other hand, looked like he would kill him if he had the chance. After this single realization, Adian knew what he had to do if he wanted to be able to get back on the path and return home unscathed.
"Alright Charmander, lets show this wanna-be tough guy what we're made of." Adian said, prodding Charmander a bit so that he jumped off his bad and in front of Adian.
OOC: No worries, same here. :3 This weekend was wicked busy.

The rough looking biker snorted at Adian's comment. "Me? A wannabe? Hahaha good one kid! I'm gonna get you good now!" The man tightly held onto his ball and stared at Adian and his Charmander in a crazed manner. "KOFFING! Go sort out this punk!" The ball launched from the man's hand and landed with a loud resounding thud on the floor. The ball dejected its contents and out popped a Koffing. Normally Koffing have a pretty cheery smile on their face but this Koffing looked pretty damned aggravated. Pokemon must take after their owners it would seem. It span around in the air, smoke piling out non-stop almost as a warning. "Bet'cha Koffing can deal with ya no probs." The Koffing yelled out and eyed the Charmander it was facing. The tension between the two was becoming almost tangible. Who would be the first to break the silence and order the first move? Battle

OOC: Wooh! A kind thank you goes out to Arz for him sending a battle template my way. Also, I hope you don't mind being my guinea pig for this battle Adian. I'm going to be adjusting here and there with a few tweaks to the battle layout as we progress. ;D

OOC// No problem at all :3 This is fun, so I'm excited. <3 Feel free to test out anything. :3
BIC// Adian eyed the Koffing that had just been released from the pokeball. It looked mean, and ready to fight. The fumes it emitted began to reach Adian and his stomach began to convulse making him feel like he was about to gag. Adian knew Charmander smelt it too, its' little claws clenched as it stood there, trying to look menacing. Adian wondered if he would lose his first actual trainer battle. The man looked tough and terrifying, AND obviously experienced, as was his pokemon. Charmander had only battle a wild pokemon once, and Adian wondered if that was good enough. Only one way to find out. "Charmader, scratch!" Adian yelled out suddenly, hoping the element of surprise would gain him some sort of advantage.

Rocko laughed out with a hearty roar as he observed Adian almost gag over Koffing's noxious odours. "I can tell yer pretty green behind the ears, kid. If you think Koffing stinks, wait till ya see my bud's Muk!" The surly bonehead clenched his fists together and began to get wrapped up in his beloved Koffing. "My Koffing can make some pretty nasty stenches." He began to babble on more and more about the superiority of his Koffing, become so self absorbed he had his eyes closed. "...And that is why Koffing is the single greatest Pokem-" His eyes opened abruptly as the Charmander took its orders from Adian, moving forward and tearing down against the bubbly gas bag. "WOOOOAH!!!" Yelled out Rocko in surprise. "Who said ya could do that?! You got some nerve...!" Rocko snarled as he realised the battle was now under way. "Koffing! Retaliate with a Tackle! Let's ram this pitiful lizard!" Koffing shot a venomous glare at the Charmander before bulking up its body with gases and gaining enough momentum to slam into the Charmander. The hit was pretty rough but it would seem Adian's Charmander was made of sterner stuff. Battle

Adian snickered, "Pitiful lizard? All you got is a puff of gas. Hell, anyone could see how worthless it is!" Every word he said came from the fake bravado he tried to portray. Inside, he was terrified, not only because this was his first trainer battle... but because this was the first scary man he'd ever seen in person. Adian wondered if the man would simply beat him to death if he won... The Adian began to fear what would happen if he lost. With no pokemon to protect him, Adian knew he couldn't physically fight this man, yet his pride demanded he wouldn't run. 'Best not lose then.' Adian thought. As soon as he had thunk it, Charmander was down, pulling itself off the floor from a vicious tackle attack. Adian however saw this as a blessing rather than a hinderance. Koffing was now lower to the ground and required less effort to swipe at. "QUICK CHARMANDER! Use scratch!"

The demeanour of the man had now visibly changed. Instead of his seething intimidating countenance, a spry of wave of apprehension struck Rocko's face. He was hoping that his Koffing would have at least bought the fiery lizard down to half health. Instead, they were now in a much less comfortable position. "Uuuuurrrrrggggh! We're just goin' easy on ya! Just you wait. Koffin'll blam you!" However, despite the biker's idle threats, Adian's Charmander was far more agile on its feet than Koffing. With a speedy lunge of its claws, the Scratch tore through Koffing once more, leaving it pretty bad shape. For a surprise ambush, Rocko was bumbling abysmally. Rocko narrowed his eyes and bellowed out the next move. "Dammit Koffing! Them punks don't like yer fumes! Let's give 'em a hefty dose!" Koffing nodded in agreement. Things were going too nicely for the duo. Perhaps a little Smog could diffuse their spirits. Koffing inhaled deeply, causing its body to inflate to massive proportions, before its little craters twitched, unleashing a concentrated stream of Smog in Adian and Charmander's direction. The noxious gases wafted over but were simply not accurate enough. They passed by Adian and his Pokemon by a matter of inches. Rocko's jaw dropped as did his Koffing, who had now become thoroughly deflated from his best efforts going awry. "Nnnnnnooooooooo!!" Roared Rocko. Despite coming off as intimidating, he was starting to become more and more pitiful. Everything he was threatening to do was coming off as hollow. Battle

Adian's previous smirk became a large confident smile with a hint of malice. Adian felt not so much as a twinge of remorse or pity towards the attack he'd just laid on the Koffing. It was obvious that the pokemon was hurting. The smile was only getting bigger as Adian watched the smog float past him and his Charmander. "Hahahah, you stupid fat man! Your Koffing is nothing!" Adian screamed in zealous. Charmander was picking up on the building excitement of a victory he could almost see. "Alright Charmander, let's show them a bit of what your claws can do on a popped ballon. Use scratch!"

Stupid fat man? Those words dealt almost a thousand knife blows to Rocko's self esteem. He let out a pitiful sigh and stared morosely at the floor. "T-That... That's..." His lip whimpered slightly as he reflected on the guy's words. He seemed in an almost trance like state having such words thrown at him. The remark about his Koffing seemingly spurred him into a much more menacing figure to what he had been coming. With a nasty snarl, he looked over to Adian and laughed pettily. "You can insult me but not my Koffing. DAAAAAMMMIT PUNK!" He threw his fists to his sides before beating his chest in a vengeful manner. If this battle didn't end soon, Rocko may well just enter the fray himself. The enraged bull spat furiously as he spoke. "KOFFING! I've had it with his punk ass kid! We're gonna pound him into ground meat! RAAAARGH!" His Koffing, now more buoyant in response to its trainer's enraged state grinned wryly at the Charmander. It would seem it had worked out the direction the air was shifting. Just enough to deploy a rather nasty Smog attack... Rocko cracked his neck as he pulled it from side to side and decisively made his orders. "KOFFING! SMOG!" Before the noxious Pokemon could create a stream of foul smelling gases, Adian's Charmander leaped into the fray. Sensing Rocko's almost unstable nature, it knew that everything was resting on it to finish the battle as soon as possible. The little fire lizard's claws extended and came down furiously on Koffing. So devastatingly it had landed a Critical Hit! The Koffing span around in the air uncontrollably, reeling in from the heavy attack. By whatever luck was out there, it had survived. Just barely. Regaining some sense, it leered at the Charmander evilly. With a dying breath, it was going to make the fiery lizard's life hellish. It expanded quickly, unable to function properly from the critical hit but managed to squeeze out just enough concentrated Smog. It wafted through the air with surprising gusto, settling over Adian and his Pokemon. Charmander splattered, accidentally inhaling some of the fumes. Unfortunately, it had now become Poisoned. The infection began to spread through the Pokemon, harming its health. Battle

Adian noted the extreme change in Rocko. It seemed as if the battle-spurred insult was enough to destroy his self esteem to the point of crying. Adian almost considered apologizing-- Well he did up until Rocko's mood changed drastically into rage. Man-PMS much? Adian thought with a smile. That smile was soon erased as Rocko forcibly told his pokemon to once again, use smog. Adian's smile had turned into a frown as he watched the floating purple pokemon fill up with air. Adian's Charmander at the exact moment had launched forward, driving it's claws fully into the pokemon. Charmander watched in satisfaction as the overinflated Koffing withered under the attack. "HAH!" Adian cried out in triumph victory, only to see the Koffing managed to float back up, wheezing and obviously at the end of his rope. As if karma was watching Adian for the insult he'd thrown earlier, Charmander managed to breathe in a nose full of the smog and became poisoned. Charmander winced as he felt his body being eaten by infection, his health suffering considerably. This hadn't deterred Adian one bit, "Alright Charmander, forget the poisoning, we can win this! Use scratch again, finish Koffing!"

No matter what Rocko or his Koffing did, there was no escaping the fact that defeat was an imminent prospect they could not refuse. Rocko's forehead was now sweating bullets profusely as he looked on in horror at the outcome of the battle. Even with level difference and being the ambusher he still couldn't trump this kid and his Pokemon. His faithful Koffing bobbed up and down in the air half heartedly. It knew the strike was coming and was trying its best to put on a brave face for its trainer. Rocko yelled out in agony, there was no way he could accept such a horrible loss and his Koffing being knocked out. "RETREAT BUD!" The red flare of a Pokeball opening darted towards Koffing and enveloped him back into the safe confines of the Pokeball. Rocko stuffed the ball onto his belt holster and yelled at Adian while pointing at him antagonistically. "I... I... I'll get ya next time you punk! I can't let Koffing go down like that..." He worryingly rubbed his forehead and sighed. "Boss is gonna kill me!" He looked around unsure as if anyone else was watching and made a beeline towards one of the many doors situated in the warehouse. As the dust settled behind Rocko's escape, the eerie feeling of loneliness started to become apparent to Adian and Charmander. What was curious about this loneliness was the fact that it almost seemed as if something was there. It wasn't quite human... More, animalistic in its aura. A few moments of silence passed before a large number of barrels fell over and rolled out precariously. It seemed as if something else was there with Adian. A ear piercing screech echoed throughout the warehouse. In the musky darkness a pair of glowing eyes leered towards Adian and Charmander. It would seem a stray Meowth had come the team. With Rocko weakening Charmander somewhat, it seemed to have picked the perfect time to prey on them. Encounter

Satisfaction swept through the pair as the final hit ended the battle. To win your first pokemon battle, that was something. Adrenaline filled Adian and he let out a loud 'whoop' to rub in the win to not only Rocko and his defeated pokemon, but to the heavens. Charmander had caught Adian's fever and began to cheer his master on. Once the high from the win left, Adian sighed in happiness, patting his pokemon on the head. "We did a good job Charmander, I'm proud of you. Maybe getting lost wasn't that bad after all." Adian remarked.
Charmander was tense, and listening. Not to Adian's comment, but to something else. Some other -- thing was there. It did not give off the feel of being a person nor did to give off any distinct feeling of a pokemon. It didn't take long for Adian to notice the change in his pokemon. "What's wrong buddy?." He asked, and was answered with no sort of reply. A loud screech echoed throughout the large empty space. Charmander began to growl, following the sound of the screech. His eyes locked with the Meowth's, a silent beckon to arttack.

With the intensity between the two sides now manifesting itself before them, the wild Meowth leered slyly at them both. This warehouse was IT'S territory. How in the blue world did they manage to get in? Sure there was the odd one or two people trotting around this place which it was familiar with but this was the final straw. Thoughts of the warehouse becoming full of people, encroaching on its territory flooded the feisty Meowth's mind. If the feline Pokemon had anything to say about it, it was going to send this guy and his Pokemon packing as a warning to future intruders. A shrill cry burst out as it launched itself unexpectedly at Charmander. It's claws were drawn and it's arms flailed around in a flurry. It landed just before the fiery lizard and with a swift clap of its paws, landed an effective Fake Out on its opponent. The sudden jump made Adian's Charmander flinch! Battle

The Meowth had made Adian's Charmander flinch. A bit of anger boiled up in him. he'd never before been hit with a move that actually made his pokemon flinch. He was blaming Charmander at all, only mild irritation at his pokemon. He didn't let it show though. "Alright Charmander, that was a cheap shot. But let's show him what you've got! Use ember on that nasty feline!" Adian roared.
Of course, Charmander had felt a bit of shame when he flinched. The silly Meowth had knocked him senseless for a moment and he missed his turn for attacking. Now it was time to make that up. The little Charmander's tail flared up and he gathered the ember's in his throat, hoping to hit the Meowth and pay him back for his cheap shot.
