Angelus seemed spurred on by her successful blow and began to hop up and down excitedly. Tanya almost felt a stir of pity for the Azurill, but she quelled it down. Pity would be her downfall one day, either too much or lack of it. The girl cleared her throat to catch her Buneary's attention. "Angelus."
The rabbit stopped in her celebration and looked back at her trainer with bright, chocolate brown eyes. "Bun buneary?" she inquired, pointing at the wailing Azurill. Attack it again?
Tanya nodded, green eyes clinical as her Buneary turned around again and began making mock punches in the air. Just prepping herself, the girl thought quickly, before any impatience could stir her into snapping out a direct command. Maybe Angelus was going to be a little like Saphira and let her mind wander during battle.
Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't notice Angelus begin hopping forwards again towards the still upset blue mouse. She stopped a little bit away from her opponent, head tilted to one side, before she began quietly hopping around towards the Azurill's back. With a quick, sharp inhalation of air, the Buneary threw herself forwards with another Pound attack. Maybe this would stop it from crying so much and hurting her ears.

A bouncy, bouncy, and BOING! Angelus, the newest and youngest Pokemon of Tanya's team, made a direct and straight beeline for its whimpering and crying opponent. The match seemed fairly even at first glance, two baby Pokemon pitting it out against one another. Right? Wrong. With a tightly wound up ear, Angelus came down on top of Azurill like how a rattler would strike at unsuspecting prey. Releasing the tension that had built up within the fluffy ear, she socked the Azurill hard and almost right into next week! Since Azurill was too busy crying because of its boo-boo, it left it wide open for attack. Angelus looked pleased with herself for pulling another successful attack. She looked like she was going to dance and even take a bow for her latest achievement. This young and inexperienced manner of acting in the middle of a fight would normally leave her open for counter attack. Normally. Azurill was sitting on its behind, tearing up even more and crying a river. The wailing grew even louder and with it, sometimes coughed with how much breath it was using it. Expelling these liquids made a fair sized puddle around the baby Pokemon rather quickly... and then, it happened. Azurill's counter attack! " RIIIIILLL!!! AZURIIIIIIIILLL AAAAALLLLL!!!" it cried feverishly! The next instant, both Tanya and Angelus could only watch with jaws dropped at the next action Azurill was about to undertake. Splash. Back on its feet, Azurill still continued the water works and had started to throw a temper tantrum of its own. Within the puddle of its own tears, it jumped up and down in a frenzy of frustration, splashing everything around it. Sure, the watery tears reached the Buneary, but it did absolutely nothing at all to deal damage. This had to be the most pitiful display of Splash ever seen... A surge of pride and joy swept through the auburn haired girl. She grinned as Angelus successfully landed another blow. Even with Azurill's tears falling like unending waterfalls, she was more elated for her youngest Pokémon's success. The duo seemed to be on the same wavelength; Angelus almost seemed to want to do a little act in the middle of battle.
But her attention was focused on Azurill in case it retaliated back. But its sobbing only seemed to increase and worsen until the little blue mouse began to throw a tantrum. Tanya's eyes widened. "Ah damn," she murmured, chewing her lip anxiously.
Then it used Splash.
The salty tears that landed on her feet and on Angelus' cheeks did nothing to soften her shock. But Angelus began to quiver, and her concern suddenly skyrocketed. "Angelus... you okay?" Tanya asked, crouching down to check on her Pokémon. The rabbit began to shake even more. And out of her mouth came a stream of shrieking giggles.
Her Buneary was laughing at the weak showing of battle spirit. A slow, exasperated smile tweaked her lips up on one side. She was still a baby Pokémon, and some things would be a little less serious to her than they would be to another of her team.
"Okay Angelus, get a grip sweetie. One more Pound attack and you can do all the giggling you want," Tanya assured the still mirthful rabbit. The sweet sounds were beginning to soften the serious face she usually put on for battles. Snorting as she tried to stop her giggles, Angelus nodded and halted the stream of noise struggling to escape her mouth.
The brown rabbit began hopping towards Azurill with renewed determination. She'd win this battle and make her mama proud! "BUNEARY!" Angelus let out her war cry and charged at Azurill with another Pound attack readied.

Here comes Angelus Cottentail, hopping down the battle trail. Hippity, hoppity, a Poundin's on its way. There wasn't anything Azurill could've done to win this fight. Sure, it started out all cocky and ignorant like some kind of undefeated super hero, but the reality of the matter is that it had nothing to fight with. Nothing. The most lethal move in its pool was Tail Whip, and even then that did no damage. The little blue aqua mouse was still only a baby and very sensitive... mayhaps it was even born yesterday. Only big advantage Angelus had over it was one offensive move. " Buuuuunnnn-NEARY!" said the newborn with a tightly curled ear. Fierce determination lighting her eyes, confident in the easy victory, the final bap of this fight was given with the Pound. Azurill spun around several times in a dizzying speed, then finally feel face-down a puddle of its own tears. It is kinda sad if you really think about it... Azurill just really wanted to play. Angelus has won her first battle against the Level 6 Azurill! Angelus is now level 8! She also learned the move, "Endure"!Would you like to capture the fainted Azurill? Even though it knows nothing useful? You're weird. Well, if yes, fill out the following. Another solid victory for team Tanya! Angelus' final Pound sent the Azurill right into the realm of unconsciousness, ensuring a smooth victory for the youngest member on the team. The Buneary began to wriggle in joy and started dancing on the spot, giggling and punching her wee paws in the air.
Tanya rose back to her full height and began to stroll forwards, careful not to disturb Angelus in her celebration. She regarded the downed Azurill with careful apprehension clear in her eyes. It only knew two attacks, and truth be told, the girl had no fondness for the Marill evolutionary family.
Shaking her head gently, the teenager retrieved Angelus' ball and recalled the Buneary before she could overexert herself in her excitement. Midday had finally arrived, and she raised an arm to shield her face from the harsh, butter yellow light streaming down on the route. Violet City was so close... but she'd made a mental promise to get everyone a level boost before moving on. With a weary sigh, but a smile still clear on her face, Tanya pulled out one last Poke Ball from her bag and let it fly.
Veleno appeared in a flash of light, raising his head and gazing around with clever golden eyes. The serpent turned back to his trainer and made a face, forked town slipping between his jaws briefly as he made a noise of distaste. "Kansssss."
Tanya raised her hands in an apologetic gesture. "I just want you to get a bit of training. Never hurt anyone," she said lightly, rolling her shoulders. Veleno made another hiss before turning away from the girl. He was so... stubborn. Almost like herself sometimes. The Ekans stretched his long, supple body out on the warm ground and seemed to relax. Was he sunning himself? When there was training to be done? "Dios," Tanya said in exasperation, her mother's favourite choice word instead of a lovely expletive.
She put her hands on both hips and walked around the lazing serpent, scanning the area for a quick battle. After that was done, no more delays; it was off to Violet City.

((...I just noticed the Ekans. If I have to, I'll continue modding for you. But... yeah, you know how I detest snakes. >>)) The weather was getting warm as the day advanced through its process. The sky was almost completely clear with the exception of the few, cute fluffy clouds that drifted by ever so gently at their own pace. The occasional shadow would cover those on the ground for a few brief moments, providing a refreshing brisk of coolness and shelter from the harsh yet blessing sunlight. Insects were coming out in force in the grasses, fluttering about and pollinating plants in their search for nectar. Within the grasses, even a few trace Pokemon could be found. A fair ways off, a few wild Beautifly flirt about as they paid attention to some of the larger, flowering trees. And right there in front of Tanya, munching contently on fresh, fresh and delicious grass was a cute little Mareep! The yellow, woolly wool that covered its entire being looked to be especially soft and as bright yellow as the sun. It showed no reaction to the girl and her snake that had approached it, maybe because it didn't care, was oblivious, or was so absorbed in just how damn good this grass tasted! Yum! A wild Level 7 Mareep appeared!

((Uwaaah sorry hun xx; if he didn't need the training I wouldn't have him out ^^; if you don't want to mod me cause of him, don't worry 'bout it ~))
Munch munch.
Veleno's head snapped up faster than a whip. His gold eyes raked the immediate area, completely passing over, or rather ignoring, his trainer several feet away. Forked tongue slipping between gently parted jaws, the Ekans tasted the scents of the air, detecting something close to him. Something warm, fluffy, and bursting with vitality. Or was that static electricity?
Munch munch. Pause. Munch munch.
This time even Tanya's head turned around. She whirled 360 degrees and scanned the current area for the sound. Veleno slid by her on his belly and rose up to about her waist, tail swaying as he stared at the source.
Tanya turned and looked down with him. Then her heart melted. "Aww, aren't you the fluffiest little thing I've ever seen!" she gushed, completely forgetting her usual dislike of the extremely cute. The teenager dropped to her knees and clasped her hands in front of her, green eyes sparkling with what was obvious adoration. Veleno made another rasping, hissing noise of dislike, not at all liking the fact his trainer was cooing over some wild beast and not himself.
Even if he wasn't quite yet fond of the female, he was still part of her team and demanded the same treatment the rest of her subservient assortment of creatures received! "Ekanssss..." he drawled, slithering away from the pair, turning around to face them again. His tail began to rattle warningly, thudding against the ground, drawing Tanya's attention.
She looked over her shoulder at her suddenly volatile serpent. Then she looked back at the sweetly oblivious Mareep, warring internally with her original intent for training. Maybe she'd catch it and save it the trouble of falling to her snake.
Even so... it would mean hurting it. But that was a risk they had to take. Tanya rose to her feet again and plucked her bandanna off her head, raking a hand through her wavy mess of mahogany colored hair. Then she shot a quick look at Veleno, emerald eyes meeting gold, and nodded curtly.
Taking several steps back out of the line of fire, Tanya clenched the bandanna tightly in her hands as Veleno made a single hiss of acknowledgment and slithered forwards a little more. He rose up and swayed, scoping out his foe, before his mouth opened. "Ekanssssssss!" came the hissing cry before a spray of purple, poisonous nettles came flying out from deep within his gut. They soared right towards the still munching sheep, aiming right for its feet and side.

The small Mareep caught sight of the poisonous darts and glared, jumping up in the air in time to dodge the attack. Glaring harshly at the snake, the Mareep shook its body, trying to make it appear intimidating.
Charging at the snake, the Mareep landed a Tackle attack and caused Veleno to fly back a bit. Shaking his head to rid himself of the pain, he coiled up again, hissing loudly as his tail rattled in the same volume.

Tanya flinched as the Mareep managed a nimble dodge. It wasn't for the Mareep (she was somewhat glad it had avoided hurt) but for the anger that was sure to build in Veleno. As predicted, he was furious. Or perhaps that was an understatement. The fluffy sheep tackled him and sent him flying back a few feet before he coiled up again, tail rattling so furiously Tanya was surprised Veleno didn't achieve take off.
He glared at the nuisance who'd dared attract the adoration of his trainer, slitted eyes looking just plain cruel. He'd seen these Pokémon before, he knew that a physical attack would result in a paralysis that was hard to shake.
There were two options... of course, he'd have to pick one. "Use Leer, Veleno," suggested his trainer. The serpent turned his flashing eyes on her and hissed furiously again. How dare she, the traitor, tell him what to do! The teenager's face fell into a mask of anger. She huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.
Little ingrate! she wanted to scream at him. He was defiant and rude, but this... this was just too much. "Okay big boy, fight this yourself. I'm not giving you ANY help," she said icily. Veleno stared back with an equal measure of acidic hostility plain in his never blinking eyes. Then a sharp puff of air from his jaws and he tore his gaze from her. The Ekans advanced forwards slowly, slithering over the ground with sinuous movement. He coiled up again and lifted his head and neck to stare down at the insolent Mareep.
"KANS!" he suddenly rasped, eyes glowing a bright gold as he used Leer on the little sheep. Even if he didn't want her orders, he'd still used her suggestion. An irritated smile twitched on her lips but died, still too angry with the snake to really be pleased.

The Mareep could feel its guard go down but glared harshly at the snake. Inhaling deeply, the sheep let out a loud Growl attack at Veleno, lowering his attack by one notch. The Poison Snake was struck at the impact and slowly slunk to the ground, swirls in his eyes. Shaking it off, he hissed again, rattling his tail loudly. He was determined to win this fight, without Tanya's help. It's golden slit eyes watched the Mareep carefully, wondering what it was going to do next.

Haha. The thought came and passed as she watched the battle progress. Countering Veleno's Leer with Growl was an awfully smart move. If he wasn't being as stubborn as a knot in a rubber hose, she'd have him Leer again, or better yet, switch him out just to irritate him.
But he had made his choice to fight alone, and she wasn't going to interfere. She started chewing her lip again as Veleno stared intently at his quarry, forked tail fluttering in the air as it slipped out between his jaws. His tail was still vibrating against the ground in his agitation with the Mareep. But he'd keep it waiting, keep it guessing at what he was going to do next.
The lapsing seconds drew on, neither combatant moving. Tanya blew out a sigh and plopped herself on the ground, drawing her backpack around to her front and rifled through it. She began throwing things pellmell out of it, items clinking against each other as she did so. Saphira and Tempesta appeared out of nowhere as their trainer accidentally sent their balls flying out, both bursting open upon impact with the ground. The Buizel and Charmander blinked in confusion and began looking around.
Tempesta spotted the battle in a heartbeat and froze. Her blue eyes were locked in place; she wasn't going to be moving for a while. A first for the hasty otter.
Saphira, meanwhile, had begun sorting through the mess Tanya had made and made a gleeful noise of discovery. The teenager's head snapped up and around. "Oh poo. Guess I accidentally let you out," she said absentmindedly. Her Charmander made an impatient grunt and held up whatever she had found. On a thin golden chain dangled a beautifully crafted golden dragon with emeralds set in for eyes. Tanya visibly paled at the sight of it.
"T-that... w-where..." she stuttered, fear locking her muscles. Saphira frowned and then pointed at the necklace, then her neck, and finally at Tanya's hands. Put it on me? she seemed to be asking. The girl nodded shakily and motioned for her Charmander to come closer. With trembling fingers, Tanya quickly clipped the necklace around Saphira's neck and drew her hands back.
The fiery lizard made a noise of contentment and turned away to rifle through the other things. A sharp hiss drew Tanya's attention, and she glanced over just in time to watch Veleno spit another volley of his poisonous nettles at the Mareep. Tempesta was enraptured by the battle, and she seemed to be swaying in time with Veleno.

The poison barbs hit the Mareep with great force, causing a critical hit!! It cried out in pain and shook it off, but the poison was already taking effect in its system, making it pant heavily and nearly collapse. The poison was too much for it.
It then weakly stood on its feet and charged at the Ekans, only for the Tackle attack to miss due to Veleno moving with speed. He hissed loudly then looked at Tanya. Seeing the terrified look on her face made him blink curiously, distracting him from the battle for a moment. What was wrong with her?

The Mareep, by the looks of it, had taken to being poisoned. Despite her resurgence of bad memories, she managed to bring herself to frown for the poor sheep. Once Veleno had dealt it a little more damage she'd save it from its suffering. His head was turned in her direction and he seemed genuinely curious as to why she looked so ashen.
Saphira wandered over to Tempesta and tapped the Buizel carefully on the shoulder. "Bui? the Buizel asked her, head only half turned in the Charmander's direction. Saphira held out a bundle of brightly colored fabric. Distracted, Tempesta turned away from the battle and plucked the object from her fellow Pokémon's paws. She stretched it out before her and surveyed it with a curious look.
It was a bandanna, in a pleasant shade just a tad darker than sky blue. Tempesta's eyes brightened visibly and she brushed by Saphira to stand before her trainer. She held out the bandanna imperiously and began tapping a foot impatiently against the ground. "Yeah yeah, miss Hasty, get over here and turn around," came the slightly exasperated reply.
The Buizel smirked and did as she was instructed. Tanya's fingers were less shaky, but she still fumbled with the bandanna as she brought it around under the inflatable ring that covered Tempesta's neck. She tied it around the back and smiled weakly as the Buizel looked down at herself and nodded approvingly. She strode back over to where Saphira stood watching the battle and focused on it again with rapt eyes.
Veleno had looked away by this point and was swaying to the side again, like a cobra might for its charmer. He almost seemed to be smiling, the *****. With another raspy hiss the serpent belched out a third round of his home-brewed purple nettles. They flew in a straight line towards the slowly weakening Mareep, ready to inflict more damage.
Tanya watched the battle with weary, tired emerald eyes. I'll help you out soon, she told the Mareep silently.

Veleno sent out more poisonous barbs towards the electric Pokemon, causing another critical hit!! The small Mareep was probably near fainting now, panting heavily as the poison weakened it some more. Letting out a shrilling Growl attack, it lowered Veleno's attack once again.
Veleno slunk to the ground again, but shook it off and hissed. It sensed that it was near fainting and gazed towards his mistress. He tilted his small head to the side and signaled her that if she wanted to, she could capture it.

This was the moment. The scene was in perfect clarity, breathtakingly beautiful and mesmerizing. The Mareep was tottering, weakened by each attack and the toll the poison exacted, and was on the verge of collapse. Tanya's hand came free from the bag, having been digging in it again before she realized Veleno seemed to be giving her the go ahead. Sunlight struck off the shiny surface of the sleek, unused Poke Ball.
Tanya rose to a kneeling position and took aim like a pitcher in baseball, one hand pointed out towards the little sheep, other clutching the capture device. "Do your thing!" she called out, letting her wrist flick forwards and hurled the ball in a straight line.
Veleno's eyes followed the movement of the device as it soared above his head. Even if he had his disagreements with his trainer, he respected some of her wishes... despite the fact he still wanted to eat the sheep for attracting Tanya's attention away from him. A prized serpent like no other.
Even Tempesta and Saphira seemed just as captivated by the whole thing. The Buizel was playing idly with a stray fringe off her new bandanna while her eyes tracked the progress of the ball aiming towards her, hopefully, new partner. Saphira was grinning openly, fiery tail swishing around in her joy, almost setting the grass around them ablaze. Tanya prayed silently to the deities to let this be a successful capture...
