Right, I need help choosing an appropriate team so when I finally make it to Palmer, I can totally pound him into oblivion. I'm not switching out my Porygon-Z though. Great moveset and he works fine. The candidates: Weavile @ Expert Belt Moves: Ice Punch Night Slash Brick Break Aerial Ace
Starmie @ Zap Plate Moves: Thunderbolt Psychic Ice Beam Surf
Blissey @ Leftovers Moves: Stealth Rock Soft Boiled Grass Knot Toxic
Electivire @ Expert Belt Moves: Thunderpunch Ice Punch Cross Chop Earthquake
Lucario @ Choice Scarf Moves: Aura Sphere Psychic Dragon Pulse Me First So I need to pick the right two team members and decide who will lead my challenge when I get to my third round of battles. Usually I'm good at strategies but my mind is failing me.

To beat up Palmer you need a good Lead, Physical attacker, and Special Attacker. I am assuming Poygon-z will be a special attacker. A good lead is a pokemon that can set the battle field for the rest of your team. For the lead I would have to say Roserade.
Roserade @ Leftovers ~ Substitute ~ Leech Seed ~ Sludge Bomb ~ Spikes Set up spikes, sub. Then spam leech seed. You might want to switch out Sludge Bomb for Energy ball, cause Palmer has a lot of rock/water hybrids. He also starts with a Miltoic. So energy ball might be the better choice. Between that, and Porygon-z you should have things covered. I would probably add in the Electivire. It has a diverse move pool that will be able to take Palmer on. I would just watch for his Rhyperior's earthquake.
Weavile is nice, but it might be to frail for Palmer. It will certainly take out Dragonite, but I doubt it can do much more beyond that.
Starmie isn't all that special either. It is just a bland special attacker. . It will completely destroy Miltoic.
Blissey would work well. Stealth rock is a fantastic move on a lead. It is also a special wall. Most special attackers will have trouble taking it down. Not to mention it can stall out with Toxic/Softbroil.

I've seen in the cbox you managed to thwart Palmer so congrats to you Dani. ;D Just out of curiosity, how did you vanquish him? Did you end up going with the team you have there?
I can't quite remember my exact time but I remember having Gengar and Weezing for sure. Electivire was likely my third Pokemon but the main thing is i've been able to get pretty far with them. A lot of the time its been me getting through on sheer luck because of predictions or stupidity but I really hate the times when the AI is just hellbent on destroying your winning streak.

I got him mainly with Starmie. I ended up giving it Choice Specs and lucky for me, Palmer started with Dragonite and then went to Rhyperior.
Switching out to Cresselia, I used Toxic on his Milotic, which proceeded to use Hypnosis, Attract, and Surf-rapage, but let me sweep quickly with Starmie after Cress went down. ^^ I had Electivire as back-up with Muscle Band over Expert Belt.
I haven't pursued any further battling in the Tower yet. xD
