I'm just trying to think back. I never played Emerald you see but I do know that double battles were introduced back in Generation III. I wonder if Emerald featured doubles a bit more. If so that's a good sign of things to come. I think Platinum had a bit more focus on double battles.

Emerald were the ones to introduce the idea of two different trainers challenging you to a Double Battle - Ruby/Sapphire only had the sort of 'twins' double battles where two twins (or a couple or that newsreader/cameraman duo) would challenge you to a Double Battle. I gave up on Platinum early on in the game so I don't know what went down there.

Well there does seem to be a pattern emerging then. Let's hope this "Grey" version incorporates it some more. And I sure hope they don't add some other ridiculous battling method. Like Four on four. We may as well just call it quits and have all 6 fighting at once.

4 on 4 would be hell on... Unova (God I'm funny). I think they'd stop at this and maybe focus on adding more strategy in the form of moves and abilities and stuff... I hope! D: They're not stupid enough to do that... Are they? I don't even know anymore!

I'm still thinking I might need to give Triple battles more of a chance. I know there's a lot of moves that were added for it (But on the flipside, also work in doubles) so maybe I just need to do that. Audino was definitely made for team gameplay.

Audino's adorable. Well, once again, that's the problem: not included enough. I mean, I can see the point in wanting to not overload us with something so new but there were 5 at the most in-game and I'm not good enough to battle anyone else so I'm getting so few games. Silly Game Freak

I'm also wondering if those Fire Oath, whatever moves where triple only. The way they're described it sounds very much triple battle I think but the mechanics sound as if it'd work in doubles as you only need a second move to pull it off. If you're going to give us this stuff, at least allow us a chance to use it as intended. On it's own I think the moves had absolutely dismal base power.

50 isn't exactly dismal, but it's still not exactly great. Either way, the effects for them aren't that good - 1/8th HP lost and... something else... I dunno. I don't really see the point in them other than just to have a bit of fun with for a while - very gimmicky.

50 is pretty bad (Without technician of course). It's barely a step up from Scratch. It gets further cheapened by the fact there is such a variety of moves that have a base power of 95 and up. I had a few rotation battles on wifi tonight and I must say I really enjoyed them. I did a whole lot better than I normally do when I do singles and the feeling when you see the three Pokemon your opponent has out and you have a Pokemon that counters them entirely is unbeatable. Did a bit of mind games with Gyarados and Electivire too. Was I going to stay in? Was I going to predict the Electric attack and swap into Electivire and received my Motor Boost? ;D

I loved that element of it, too; that's really the most fun bit of it. Of course, after 2 NPC Rotation Battles, you could predict exactly what they were going to do and react accordingly - may be a bit harder with someone with an actual brain. Still, I loved Rotation battles so much! ♥
