Freya—still suffering from the trauma that was the heart attack Arcanine tried to give her when crossing the ravine—was a little dazed as they started to slow again. This time, however, when she opened her eyes, she did not see the depths of the abyss staring back at her in greeting. Rather, they were in a quite pretty part of the forest if one ignore the raging dust storm that shrouded everything in a veil of sepia. Freya tried to regain control of her insides and groaned against Arcanine's mane.
"Are we there yet?" she moaned like a petulant child on a long road trip, nauseated from hours spent in the backseat of a car while her father hits every pothole on some arceus forsaken dirt backroad. "Please tell me we are there. Even if we are not, i just....I just need a moment." She would not hurl, she would not hurl, she would not... HRRK! She covered her mouth and swallowed. Blah.
<Here! We are here, mama. I have found the place with the tree birdie smells. Just need to find. But my sniffer can only do so much sniffing. Need better eyes. More light? Maybe friend can make more light so we can see better so we can look as well as sniff!>
"Kay. Okay...ug...light. Um. Pawmot. Go. Help light things up so Arcanine can see..." Freya said blearily, throwing the pokeball in front of them and watching as the upright rodent braced against the wind. "I know. The weather is bad, but we are looking for a farfetch'd and it's hard to see where it is, or even if it is actually here. So could you spark up some and light the way?"
Pawmot chittered in understanding before its whole body was engulfed in electricity. That most certainly did brighten things up! Arcanine woofed in joy, bouncing side to side like a puppy. Pawmot then began to lead the way, charging belligerently ahead without care. If he hit something, oh well, he could just change direction and keep running. He didn't want to linger in this sand so the faster this pokemon hunt went, the better. So he raced as fast as he could, uncaring if he plowed into or through some pokemon minding its own business along the way.
Freya just sagged against Arcanine's back and kept breathing. In and out. She needed to ease her racing heart and upset stomach.

The wild avian was NOT a happy camper! He was pulled out into the dense wooded areas of Ilex with the useless boy who couldn’t find his way out of a wet paper bag. He commanded to chop down trees through a shaky tongue whose ineptitude couldn’t lead a Houndour to a perfectly plated meal. That’s why he ran away, refusing to follow a single thing the useless child might say. Who was Sylvester?! The son of his owner, sure, but useless beyond that! Instead, Farfetch’d sat in the middle of the orchard field whacking the random plants and engorging himself on the fresh food. Well…he WAS doing that. Until the brutal storms raged around them like a banshee wailing into the night! It screamed, sending small, sharp pieces of sand like glass that cut through his densely packed feathers and scraped small nicks against his delicate flesh. He grimaced, shaking himself fully to knock most of the sands off, only to have more of them slap him in the beak. “WHY CAN’T I JUST GET A BREAK!” Farfetch’d screeched in a loud quack. “I’M TIRED OF WEAKLINGS ALWAYS TRYING TO BOSS ME AROUND. I’M NOT LEAVING!” Farfetch’d screamed into the wind. Something zipped by him in a blur. It was a strange yellow blur that breezed past in the blink of an eye. Farfetch’d raised himself up on his feet and swung his leek around wildly. He chopped at the air itself, trying to strike the blur each time it zipped past, going in one direction and then the next. He missed countlessly, sometimes coming just a breath’s instance away from striking Pawmot with his leek. Then, woops, Pawmot smacked into Farfetch’d and sent the bird spiraling through the air. Farfetch’d slammed into the base of a tree and fell to the ground with a loud thud. Ouch! Ok…ok…fine…whatever! “I YIELD! I YIELD!” It screamed, raising its leek up like a white flag.

Pawmot ping ponged about, this way and that way, lighting up the sepia scenery with her wildly charged form. Electricity scattered every which way and Arcanine snuffled, trying to spot the farfetch'd through the whirling winds. However, that was when they both heard the screeching.
<Oh. Loud birdie.> Arcanine woofed.
"Apparently he has opinions about Sylvester...and the weather," Freya observed with a little amusement, her own voice muffled by Arcanine's stone mane.
<Pawmot handling things~ Gonna catch the birdie in three. two...> There was a THWACK and the loud caw of surrender. Yep. Pawmot had most certainly found the farfetch'd and in one hit sent him tumbling. With powerful forearms, pawmot picked up the farfetch'd and carried him back over to her trainer.
<Easy!> she gloated. <Now let's get out of this weather!>
"I mean...we might be stuck in this a while...I need to get through Ilex." Freya told her little friend. The electric rodent gave her a baffled and somewhat offended glare.
<Why today? Why not wait out the storm?>
"Who says it will be any better tomorrow? Summers in Johto can be very, very dry...or very, very wet...If we get unlucky and this last for the next three months... We will just be twiddling our thumbs and waiting to make progress. And you did say you wanted to go kick butt, right?"
Pawmot did look considering, <I did. I did say I wanted to kick butt.>
"There is a normal gym in Goldenrod. The kind of gym where you can kick lots of butt. But we have to get there first. And that gym is on the other side of this forest." Freya coaxed. Pawmot tossed the farfetch'd up to her trainer and put her paws on her hips with a pout.
<You play dirty. Fine. Just don't call me out to help too often. This weather is gross.> Freya returned her to her ball. With luck, the trek through the forest would be peaceful, no need for Pawmot to come out and battle.
"Okay Arcanine. We have both farfetch'd, let's return to Sylvester. These two need to be reunited with their trainer and maybe we should have a talk with him as well. It seems like these two birds are causing problems on purpose and it really isn't the kid's fault..."
Arcanine wuffed in agreement before bounding off. At least this way they didn't have to leap over a ravine. Again.

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: On | Time: Day
Zaiden glared at the random shrubs as he pushed his way through the ensnaring vines dangling from the canopies above. They were numerous, with many whose once green limbs were now browned and woody from old age and a lifetime of success overtaking the area. Rich cocoa irises brightened then darkened at the sight, confusion washing through his gaze as she stared at the many small shrubs all blooming with tasty berries and small fruits that were ripe for picking. They were wild fruits, differing in their cultivated counterparts in that they seemingly held little or no medicinal benefits, but provided instead an ease for filling a starving stomach.
Zaiden thought back to Sylvester’s hints and hummed quietly to himself as he searched around the area. Was Farfetch’d hiding somewhere here? Small black berries dotted a thick green brush as Zaiden passed by, causing the young lad to pause along his trek. Hardened hands whose roughened edges spoke of their time crawling through wilderness and feigning for himself on the outskirts of society easily scooped the small snacks up, before Zaiden would easily stuff them down his throat with a quick, ravenous bite. While he carried food with him that he rationed out for himself and his team during their longer treks away from the local cities and their healing centers, Zaiden was no fool. You never turned down a meal when it was readily available.
His mind kept flickering back between different thoughts. Kogasu sat in Professor’s Lab presumably playing around with his other Pokémon while he worked on becoming the trainer she needed him to be. His mother might be worried sick about him after the impromptu way their phone call ended. His father was struggling, and it might be too late by the time Zaiden managed to snatch up enough cash to save them all. Sylvester counted on him, even after he’d failed the young man once. There were so many things to think about and fret over that it caused Zaiden’s head to spin, making him feel almost lightheaded from it all.
Where are you? Zaiden paused, placing himself on a stump with one hand pressed against his chin. This orchard looked almost as though someone placed it here once upon a time. Did someone used to live this far out inside of the forest? Were they trying to create a life for themselves far from civilization or was it simply that they got lost and had to create a life for themselves out here? Would that become his life, if he weren’t careful? Zaiden never studied how to cut down trees and build log cabins and doubted he could miraculously achieve such a feat now. He shuddered, thinking of that possibility and quietly prayed that it would never come to that. Even if I am a failure. I don’t want to be a LOST failure! He thought anxiously, his eyes widening in fear as he thought of such an inevitable possibility. The best he could hope to do was build a nest for himself!

Zaiden "The Failure" Kabila sat down on a stump to mope and contemplate whether or not he was lost. As he had his existential crisis in a literal sandstorm in the middle of a forest, something stirred in the distance. It was hard to pinpoint where to look at first given the harsh weather, but the next rustle was clearly closer. If he looked up, it would be obvious that he was indeed in the right spot. Perched on a branch like a ninja trying not to be spotted, was the second farfetch'd. It was trying its best not to get blown off the tree it was hiding in, but alas, the fates were kind to no one. A very strong gust had it using its leek to anchor itself, jabbing it into the bark of the tree. Alas, that was a mistake. This branch was starting to wither and rot, its leaves stripped bare long ago, making it brittle. That strike paired with that nasty gust ended with a sharp CRACK. Gotta go fast, Zaiden! There was a tree branch with a farfetch'd clinging to it about to fall on your head!

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion Bike Mode: On | Time: Day
Small amber hues narrowed in frustration as the criminal kept squawking. Shio was sure that Farfetch’d only wanted to distract him so that the wily bird could get away. The winds howled behind them, sending particles of sand spraying about to slap against them. For Shio, it was something similar to scratching your back with a backscratcher when you had a really bad itch you couldn’t reach. It was a welcome experience, to say the least. “Save it for the judge and jury, criminal!” He huffed firmly, immediately binding Farfetch’d wings behind the large duck’s back with some vines and freshly plucked twigs.
“On your feet and start marching. Hut, two, three, four. Hut, two, three, four!” Shio commanded. He slammed against the feathery avian’s side with rock hard head several times until Farfetch’d finally rousted onto his two feet, and nodded towards the direction through the Enchanted Orchard and back to where Sylvester was surely awaiting their arrival. Farfetch’d struggled against the constraints, twisting and turning his wings in desperation to break the ropes that bound him. “You crazy rock, untie me this instance! I don’t even know what you’re on about!” Farfetch’d trilled loudly.
A strange light surrounded Shio, causing the nugget of salt rock to transform into a larger beast stacked on its side, with arms and legs. Though he could now shuffle across the ground in this form and reach out freely with his new appendages, he had an eerie look almost humanoid just hunched over onto all fours. “Keep it moving. You know you have the right to remain silence, right? Because you sure don’t have the bran power too!” Shio urged the other Pokemon, who kept marching through the strange, forested place grumbling underneath his beak. “What the heck did you just become?! You were already weird enough before you evolved into…whatever this is!” Farfetch’d huffed.
Zaiden followed quietly behind his Pokemon, who seemed to have it all handled. Thankfully, the gritty sands died down and no longer tore the land asunder. It was astounding to think that such strong winds and sharp grains of debris could make their way so effortlessly around the wall of trees that made up Ilex, without tearing them out of their roots. Was Arceus at hand for all this, or something stranger perhaps to make that viable? Whatever change slipped onto the landscape to chase away the dust storm, Zaiden thanked gratefully, even if the newly replaced heat that poured in its place was slightly unbearable to say the least.
OOC: Headed to Shady Glenn! Nacli will evolve Pixel and learn Salt Cure as an evo move, replacing Rock Polish! I guess I'll also take Recover and forget Iron Defense? I like free healies. Goshikka forgets Place Nice and learns Psybeam! Self-Updating! Also Shio should be gaining Happiness. All Zaiden's Pokemon should gain happiness if they see opponents. Shio missed last battle and this one looks like? Definitely should be at +2.

Tristan had indeed followed the light, and despite what the classical movies portrayed as being the incorrect decision, it appeared the teenage male had found himself in an entirely new area of Ilex Forest. As Tristan observed his surroundings he quickly realised he was in the midst of an orchard, a plethora of wild plants surrounding him with plentiful abundances of fruits and flowers, it was truly a juxtaposition compared to the Gloomy Ravine that the Hoenn native had not long been passing through. Tristan was tempted to taste test the wild berries, however his mind managed to stay locked in on the task at hand as he continued scanning the area for Sylvester's Farfetch'd, the duck pokemon were turning out to be quite the pair of silly gooses to chase after.

Those berries did indeed look good enough to eat. So good, in fact, that the bird in question couldn't help but dine on them itself! As he entered the Enchanted Orchard, searching for clues, he spotted a certain duck smacking branches with its leek with clinical precision. Each swipe would either knock down a berry or neatly slice off a small length of wood to drop down more fruits for it to dine upon. It was absolutely glutting itself on whatever it could find. So distracted was it that the farfetch'd didn't notice Tristan until he was nearly upon it. At which point the avian made a startled noise and leapt back, holding the leek warily, beak smeared with fruit juice. Clearly it had no plans of returning to Sylvester any time soon given how readily it gobbled down snacks. What need did it have to go back if it could feed itself and find perfectly good shelter in nearby logs?

Tristan's mind wandered off task temporarily as he pondered to himself what a day in the life of the Farfetch'd really involved. The blonde haired teenager dwelled upon the fact that they may have been an underlying reason the pair of duck pokemon had chosen to abscond from Sylvester. Tristan considered the fact that Sylvester and his old man may have been keeping the pokemon as laborious slave workers that spent day in day out hacking away at the thick trees and shrubbery that spanned across Ilex Forest, regardless if that train of thought were true or not, Tristan had been all too happy to assist the young male in this search and retrieve style quest.
After locating the first of the missing Farfetch'd in an Orchard within Ilex Forest, the most experienced member of Tristan's emerging team of water type pokemon, Nami the Wartortle had been able to successfully subdue the normal-type duck pokemon with a pair of its freezing cold Ice Beam attack. The duck pokemon had at least been able to get an attacking maneuver in before the short-lived battle concluded, now it was simply groaning and shivering on the ground as it seemingly called for Tristan and his partner to put a hold on their offensive onslaught.
"Come on little one, follow us as we go find your pal and get you back to Sylvester"
If the duck pokemon wasn't aware already that Tristan was Sylvester's vessel for retrieving it from the neck of the woods, it had now been reiterated loud and clear. Tristan motioned for Nami to walk alongside him in continuing traversing through the forest, she was readily keeping a close eye on the pokemon she had just bested in battle in case it were to try and plot an escape,
"Oh and please don't try any shenanigans in trying to make this wild goose chase any more difficult" Returning from retrieving one Farfetch'd, onwards to Shady Glen from here in search of the second one!

Matthew followed Adonis' flight path further into the woods, departing from the strange little ravine that he had found himself in and now approaching a strange little orchard. The dark hadn't really left the area yet, giving it a strange ambiance. But this entire area reeked of fruits and flowers, almost sickeningly sweet. One of the Farfetch'd he had come this far out in pursuit of apparently liked some of the weird fruit that one might find deeper in the forest, so maybe this meant he was on the right path. Even Adonis, acting as a scout, was eyeballing some of the fruit growing around them.
Matthew sighed, retrieving the Poke Balls from his belt and releasing his team. This orchard seemed peaceful enough, they could probably take some time to relax as they lay in wait for any sign of the runaway birds. "Be careful with what you eat. No telling what kinds of sickening stuff you might find around here," Matthew mumbled, looking around as his Pokemon began to lightly forage for themselves. Brunnhilde the Ralts was using her psychic abilities to remove berries from a nearby branch, while Al quickly climbed a tree to try and grab at some of the juicier fruits that had already caught Adonis' eyes. Winchester on the other hand quickly kicked one of the trees, letting the fruit fall down around him for a quick snack, a satisfied smirk somehow appearing on his beaked face.
Midoriya and Eleanor sat by his side, even as Matthew plucked a few of what appeared to be blackberries from a nearby bush and began lightly tossing them to the two meeker of his Pokemon. It was rare that they got a chance to sit back and relax like this, and chances to actually safely forage were probably just as rare. Typically, Matthew would buy food while he was in town or would quickly throw something together from what materials he could purchase, so this was a nice enough change of pace. Besides, maybe if they disturbed enough of the orchard, something would come out to greet them.

Matthew and crew weren't the only ones enjoying the weather and the peacefulness of the enchanted orchard. As they had their lunch, wild pokemon would peer at them from the grass and up high in branches. The occasional curious creature would scuttle a little closer for a sniff before darting away, afraid of the fire. As he looked around, relaxing but alert, he would spot the sleek, brown-feathered body of a farfetch'd in the distance. It laid there on a log, looking as content as couple be, basking in a sunny spot. One could mistake it for being deep in sleep, but every so often, its lid would lift and it would peer around to make sure nothing was too close, before shutting that eye again, adjusting the leek in its wing. It seemed like the farfetch'd wouldn't approach Matthew, but it wasn't bolting. So. What was his plan for catching this pesky avian before it ran off?
