Arriving from Luminous ValeJumping into the branches of yet another tall tree, Venom finally reached his destination, seeing right away that it matched Sylvester's description perfectly. Everywhere the ninja looked it was brown. Brown plants, brown leaves on the ground, and even brown-colored Pokemon. Needless to say, stealth would prove to be a challenge in this environment. With absolutely no brown anywhere on his body, Venom stuck out like a sore thumb. Still, if the second Farfetch'd was anything like the first one, Venom figured that it wouldn't be too hard to find. All he had to do was follow the sounds of wild Pokemon in distress. But just as an added measure, the Poison type trainer grabbed a familiar Dusk Ball from his bag and called out the Pokemon that was inside it. "Sorry to call you out again so soon, but I could use a hand, or a wing here, Golbat." The Bat Pokemon appeared before his master, flying in the air beside him. "Urgh...Another battle already? Did you find the other Farfetch'd, master?" Golbat was still a bit worn out from his previous battle with the first Farfetch'd, but he still had more than enough strength left for round two. "Not yet, but I know it's here. This is the only part of the Ilex Forest that matches the description I was given. I know you're still hurt from your last battle, but I know you can do this, Golbat. Now, let's get to work." Venom answered his Pokemon with a nod, then jumped to the next tree over, as Golbat followed him from the air. The poisonous pair kept their eyes and ears peeled for the second Farfetch'd or any signs that would lead them to it, keeping their wits about them as they did. Unfortunately, given their respective colorations, they both knew that there was a strong possibility that the Normal/Flying type would spot them before they spotted it. OOC: Here for the Wild Goose Chase quest. Awaiting encounter.

"Farhhh," the brown bird sighed happily and stretched on the branch it was laying on. It had found a nice dry spot out of the rain and looked around content as it placed its wings behind its head, its leek was laying behind it and used as a pillow against the tough bark. It chuckled as lightning flash over the sky and a rumbling thunder followed. Finally a day to a bit relaxation, it was worked too hard, cutting day in and day out, taking down trees and preparing them for further work by removing all branches and twigs. It was honest work, and honestly a good one, but also tough and it had lacked the motivation for it the last few days. It had grabbed the chance when the other farfetch'd expressed a wish to get away for a bit, and none of them had hesitated when their boss had been away and that silly boy had been put in charge. They had quickly ran off in different directions, knowing the kid would have a hard time finding them now. This farfetch'd had no idea where the other were, and it had no need to figure it out. It wanted some peace and quiet, and time on its own, and it was doing exactly what it wanted to do. It turned its head when it heard something approach and it looked kindly at Goldbat and rather surprised at Venom, if he too was up in a tree. It nodded warmly to them and made no move to, well.. move. It was here to relax after all, and it had no reason to fear trainers as it was clear it wasn't a wild pokemon. Just to be sure, it pointed at the reflex it had around its chest, which marked it as a working pokemon, and it fully expected them to move on, finding some wild pokemon to battle. Both Venom and Golbat felt bad about ruining the Wild Duck Pokemon's downtime, but they simply couldn't afford to wait for it to go back to Sylvester on its own. Especially with the weather all around them getting worse by the second. Thankfully, Venom learned from their battle against the first Farfetch'd, and changed up his strategy accordingly. Golbat was still feeling some pain from that first battle, but after his second Wing Attack hit, that was all she wrote. The battle was over, and Venom immediately jumped over to the branch that Farfetch'd landed on, carefully picking up the defeated Pokemon in his arms afterward. Just as he had done with the first Normal/Flying type, the ninja decided against healing it up, knowing that it would be easier to transport in its current state. "Nicely done, Golbat. You've come a long way since we first met back in the Dark Cave when you were a Zubat." Venom looked at his winged companion with a smile on his face, thinking back to the moment when he first encountered him with a great deal of nostalgia. Even with the rain and thunder coming down hard all around them, Golbat continued to flap his wings, hovering in the air in front of the branch his trainer stood on and smiling back at him. "I owe it all to you, master. Of all the Zubat that live in that cave, I'm very grateful that you chose me." As the venomous trainer and Pokemon smiled at each other, the Bat Pokemon was suddenly enveloped in a blinding light, catching them both by surprise. However, this was a very pleasant surprise, as Venom recognized this light right away, and his smile grew even bigger as a result. "Golbat...this is so great!" In the midst of all that light, Golbat grew bigger and changed forms. When the light finally faded away, a brand new Pokemon took his place right before the ninja's eyes, which had begun to sparkle as soon as they saw this new Pokemon. "You evolved into Crobat! You look so amazing, Crobat! I've always wanted a Crobat of my very own!" Venom commented with plenty of enthusiasm, thinking back to his father and sister, who both had their own Crobats. The newly evolved Bat Pokemon took a moment to get used to his new body, flying all around with new and improved speed, almost forgetting that he was still injured. "Alright! This feels great! It feels like I've had these extra wings forever!" As Crobat was trying out his new wings, he ended up crossing his wings over each other, filling them with poison, and unleashing a brand-new move in the airspace in front of him. This came as another pleasant surprise to Venom, who quickly recognized that move. "Looks like you learned how to use Cross Poison too, my friend. That'll come in handy for sure." The poisonous pair shared one more smile, then Venom grabbed Crobat's Dusk Ball from his bag. "Thank you for everything today, Crobat. Now, get a good rest. We'll try out all your new powers another day." The Poison type trainer called Crobat back to his black and green orb, then put it back into his bag for later. Now, all that remained for him to do was to get the Farfetch'd in his arms back to Sylvester. Normally, with a storm as rough as the one that was going on all around him, Venom would've chosen to take shelter and wait it out. However, the Wild Duck Pokemon in his arms wouldn't stay unconscious forever, and Sylvester was probably still waiting for him in the rain too. So, even though he knew it would be a challenge, Venom began to make his way back to the Shady Glen, jumping from tree to tree and going back the way he came.

OOC: I'll have Crobat forget Astonish in place of Cross Poison, and I'll pass on having him learn Air Cutter. Also, now that he's evolved, could someone please put the Sooth Bell back in Venom's inventory please? Thanks. Also, Venom's leaving the Mahogany Knoll for the Luminous Vale. Coming from Pine GapLeaving the coniferous dense area, Penelope and Zuroy were carrying the sleeping Farfetch'd with rain on their tail. How do you stay asleep in this rain? It must have been really tired and used up all of its energy to be able to sleep peacefully! She tried her best to remember the area, and make her way through the slippery, muddy, and sticky floors. Who would have thought the rain would make the forest ground more difficult to walk! After several minutes, she finally found the exit. Although with the rain, her track was slower to avoid injuring herself walking in the rain while carrying something. If her arms were freer, she would have gone faster. However, this was not the case. Penelope and Zuroy were quiet during their escape, but the rain was providing a steady atmospheric ambience. -Luminous Vale-

Coming from the Luminous Vale.
As Tyler entered the Mahogany Knoll he was glad to no longer be blinded by the brightness of the previous area. It was still not to Tyler's liking however as the area was far too brown. He knew the area he wanted to reach was right up ahead so he wasted no time in moving on. " We are almost there. This forest really needs to be cut down and turned into something more useful. It is far too big for anyone's good." He then exited the area glad to be near the entrance of the Pine Gap.

Coming from the Pine Gap
As Tyler entered the Mahogany Knoll the sun had only gone down a little bit despite the distance from the Pine Gap. He was making pretty good time all things considered though he still had a long way to go. Tyler was just glad it did not take long to secure the two Pokemon he was after and the rarer of the two being shiny made it even more worth his while. As he walked through the area he could hear the cries of a few Pokemon but he was so sick of the forest he did not want to stop for now. He had gotten more than his fair share and wanted to start his training in Goldenrod as soon as he could. He could always come back to Ilex later if something caught his interest.

Coming from Luminous Vale...
After traveling from the Shady Glen to the Luminous Vale, Aphrodite, and Alvaro soon found themselves arriving at the Mahogany Knoll. "Ah, yes! Mahogany wood is extremely expensive. I should know, I'm a lady, who enjoys the finer things in life," Aphrodite giggled, taking in the sight of the beautiful brown wood surrounding her and her Pokemon. The Mahogany Knoll surely did match Sylvester's description, which means that the Farfetch should be roaming around the area here. "If this Farfetch is anything like the last one, then we should probably prepare ourselves for a battle." She stated before summoning her Brionne once again. Aphrodite would take out a Potion to spray on Raina to heal her wounds from the previous fight against a Farfetch.
"Alright everyone, let's search high and low for this Farfetch'd. The sooner we can find it the better."
Used Potion on Raina.
Raina also learned Bubble Beam over Water Gun from the last fight.
Next Stop: Awaiting encounter.

The straight-grained trees shot out like long poles from the frost grounds below. Their deep reddish-brown trunks seemed to shine in the low sunlight that trickled down between their thick canopies. Strange Pokemon scurried through the reddish-brown trees and darted through the tall grasses whose usually bright green hues were topped with stark white frost. Small brown beavers plotted along silently towards a small creek that babbled along through the route, running down the side of the gentlest sloping hill. A small brown meerkat with large, rabbit-like ears and a bullseye painted onto its chest shot up the side of one of the tall trees and disappeared into its canopy above, while a small, dark grey bird darted out with an angry shrill. Something else moved about within the forested region. Nestled in between two large green bottlebrushes with small red spiky flowers blossoming from the tips of their branches was a small bird who seemed to be having it out with a large brown duck. The small grey bird puffed up its feathers and pointed with its wings to the destroyed nest that sat in pieces on the ground. Two small grey eggs with small white spots on them sat precariously dangling on the edge of the bottlebrush, causing the small bird to hop around with loud, scared shrills. The duck, unamused with the accusations being slung onto its webbed feet, shrugged, and hopped over the bush, knocking the eggs off of them as it did so. However, it hadn’t expected to run into the tall, slender profile of long blonde haired twenty-year old or her Pokemon companions. Its eyes narrowed down suspiciously on them all as it shot a glance back towards the fretful mother bird who had begun trying to salvage what it could of its nest once more. “Farrr farfetch’d far!” It waved its wings at its side to make itself look larger and more impressive while defending itself with a loud proclamation of how the accident wasn’t even its fault! “Fetch fetch far!” Then Farfetch’d would warn Aphrodite, telling her to move out of its way so that it could continue on its path to wherever it wanted to go without protest. If she didn’t move, though, Fafetch’d try to would peck at her legs and make her move out of its way entirely. Aphrodite found the last Farfetch'd! Decide what she will do here.

The large and expansive trees of Ilex would change slowly as Mishu walked slowly through the rainy terrain with her Pokemon zipping through the tall grasses blissfully unaware. Whenever a loud sound bellowed in the distance, the shaggy black and white raccoon would jump nearly two feet in the air. As soon as its feet landed back on the ground, it spun around and darted behind Mishu’s long legs, shaking and shivering with fear. She would laugh, shaking her head slightly, and knelt down beside her Pokemon to gently pet Ziggy with her free hands as she would try to soothe him. “It’s ok, Ziggy.” The thirty year old educator promised, gently stroking Ziggy between his ears. “We’re going to be careful, alright? And it doesn’t sound close.”
The tall pines and sweeping willows that decorated much of the other areas of Ilex would slowly dissipate from the area as Mishu carefully made her way into Mahogany Knoll. While they still prodded in between the other flora that surrounded the area, they were thinned out in comparison. In their stead large trees with massive trunks shot out in groves, creating a strangely beautiful and reddish brown tint around her. She paused and scratched the back of her head as she tried to remember what Sylvester told her before about his birds and where she might be able to find them. These trees stretched out at their tops in sweeping, wide reaches that seemed to nearly spread out over tens of feet in either direction from the main trunk and really impressed the blue haired trainer.
“You know. The forest itself is really brown. From the fallen leaves that scatter the forest floor and eventually lose their color as they dry out. To the tall trunks that stretch up to the heavens above as though they are trying to touch the clouds above.” She hummed softly, pacing around one of the Mahogany trees closest to her and scanning the trunks carefully for any strange and stray marks. It’s roots were thick and so large above the ground that Mishu could have easily tripped and stumbled over them if she hadn’t been paying attention. Many times, she would have to take large steps over them to cross over and circle around the gigantic tree. The bark itself was browner by far than the obviously rough grey barks of the wild oaks, but still held speckles of whitish and even greyish hues that mixed in with the reddish brown hues. Was this the place that Sylvester meant? It was definitely difficult to tell for Mishu.
“What do you think, Ziggy?” She pressed her companion, kneeling down so that she could call the spiky furred raccoon over to her side. When Ziggy came racing over to her, running in long zigzags through the grass, she would pet his soaking wet fur with her hands and laughed as Ziggy licked her hands enthusiastically. It definitely wasn’t ideal to stick it out around the area in the midst of a thunderstorm. Normally, the researcher in her would press Mishu from inside to seek safe shelter in the nearby city and wait out the worst of the storms, before continuing her travels. Sometimes, though, she knew she needed to be in the heart of the storm to uncover specific details to Pokemon mysteries and behaviors. In this case, she just couldn’t waste precious time by trying to wait out the storm, especially with the wily duck might try to scamper off to somewhere else by the time the rains would roll off to somewhere else. “Very well…let’s see what’s in store here.” She laughed.

Sylvester could perhaps be forgiven for his frustratingly vague clues given just how the Mahoghany Knoll looked. There was an almost disgusting amount of brown and a sense of dullness to the area that gave it a rather muted look, only made worse by the present storms that surrounded Azalea. Thunder danced across the sky, the lightning trailing after it to give a sense of brightness to the otherwise drab forest path that Mishu and Ziggy were wandering down. Ziggy's prancing through the grass and Mishu's dogged pursuit of her companion lead them to a small area, barely covered by the canopies of the trees above. Some rain was still able to make it through the cracks of the tree branches, but there were small gaps where the area could remain dry. Hiding under this canopy and enjoying the additional shade of the leaves was a familiar sight, a duck clutching onto a leek rather intensely. This Farfetch'd had gone off with his friend in order to get away from the endless prattling of that badgeless boy, but they had been separated rather quickly. The other one had gone off to go play samurai in the woods, and this one had instead opted to just wander around for a bit of fun. But then the storm rolled in, and the Fartfetch'd found itself bunkering down and waiting out the storm. It would never admit it, but every flash of lightning or boom of thunder made it jump. The sight of Mishu and Ziggy entering his safe space coincided with the sudden flash of lightning, giving the duo a rather ominous shadow. The Farfetch'd let out a screech, swiping in their direction with its leek. It wouldn't even be close enough to hurt either Mishu or Ziggy, but the message was rather clear. "Come any closer and get got." was the general implication. This Farfetch'd didn't exactly want to fight them right now, especially during this storm, but these two weird monsters weren't about to use this as an opportunity to grab him; not today, anyway.

Reukurotta’s fur bristled as the loud bird snapped back. When did he want to fight? He wanted to defend himself and his friends, nothing more. Kumaneko suffered greatly underneath this monstrous bird’s wings, which was a grave injustice that the shaggy canine couldn’t just stand around idly and allow to happen. “We’re crazy for battling in weather like this?!” Reukurotta snarled, pulling his mouth so far back that it formed wrinkles along his lips and flashing his sharp canines underneath. “Then why did you knock out my friend?!” Reukurotta retorted, scanning through the canopies of each tree. He would jump up on the rough bark of the live oaks and tall pines around him and sniff the tree and air above, until he could pinpoint his opponent.
“I don’t want to be in this weather any more than you do!” The Poochyena whined and pawed at a large tree with many thick branches that curved back towards the ground below. It was hard to tell if he was hiding there or not, and as Reukurotta narrowed his eyes and studied the foliage above, he wasn’t sure if it was feathers or bark he was staring at. “We don’t want to catch you, idiot! My master said something about another trainer or his son that’s looking for you? Just go home already! Apologize for what you did to my friend and go home!” When the bird finally leaped out of its tree, swinging wildly and knocking Reukurotta backwards with a powerful blast of air, he yelped loudly in pain.
“See that?! Did I attack? No! You did! You’re the one attacking first!” It felt satisfying, then, when the small pup managed to sink his teeth into the wily duck and teach it a lesson. Maybe now it would be ready to hear them out properly? Return to its trainer, stop the shenanigans, and apologize for the wrongs it caused to his friend Kumaneko. Instead, it quacked loudly about how it needed to return to its trainer and that they needed to leave it alone…wasn’t that what his trainer was trying to do? Reunite this stupid avian with its trainer? Why were all birds so simple minded in the first place?! “Ugh! …Good! Now, march! And don’t think about running or I’ll take another mouthful of birdie feathers for myself, got it?!” The nervous pooch pressed his snout into Farfetch’d’s back to get him to follow them along the pathway back to Sylvester.

Comin' in from the Luminous ValeWith a slumbering Anorith in his arms, Shinya made his way through the Mahogany Knoll, continuing his search for Sylvester's missing Farfetch'd's. He and Anorith had already left one Wild Duck Pokemon unconscious under a pile of boulders back in the Luminous Vale, but the second was still on the run. However, from the description the young wood cutter gave him, the Team Skull grunt already had a pretty good idea of where the second Farfetch'd had chosen to go. Unfortunately, the Mahogany Knoll wasn't the place. So, with no other choice, Shinya kept on walking, making sure not to drop Anorith as he made his way through the brown-colored area. Only having the use of his legs made this journey a bit difficult for him, but it would take a lot more than this to keep Shinya down, as he soon left the Mahogany Knoll and continued on to his target destination. Mahogany Knoll.
It was very...brown.
Very, very brown.
Likely due to all the towering trees that marked the landscape, dwarfing everyone who passed through. Even in the darkness, he could see the brownness in patches of moonlight, as if the world was captured by a sepia filter. He wasn't exactly fond of the color, as he was a man who appreciated bolder hues, but he could take a moment to marvel in a hint of awe at the sheer scale of the trees.
He wandered over to one, mindful of the roots, so that he did not trip and fall. He laid a hand on the trunk, appreciating the texture of the bark and wondering about the expensive sort of furniture one might make out this kind of tree. Then again, how did one safely fell a tree of this size? Surely knocking it down would endanger everyone around it and create a domino effect with the trees clustered nearby.
Then again, Silas did not care THAT much.
He was too busy with this little side quest to linger on thoughts of how wood cutters did their job. He wasn't in the business of felling trees the side of buildings, just annoying bushes that grew over paths and made it impossible to traverse further.
So after he was done with his moment of appreciation, he stepped back and wandered off again, watching his pokemon for signs of spotting the farfetch'd. Mercenary was still sniffing the air and trudging forward, following the scent of the bird. And above Syndicate was still flying, nothing having caught the corvid's keen eyes.
Well. Time to move on. It did not seem like this was the are full of pines he was told about. Because while he was no botanist, he did know what a pine tree looked like, and these were not it. Them and their overbearing browness...
Anyway, onwards!
In his bag, he felt movement and he gave it a shush, "Quiet now. You are going back to your trainer whether you like it or not, birdie. I am getting that HM and you will not stop me. So enjoy your nap and settle down. I have come too far to fail because you decided to be a pest and squirm away." His voice was a deep growl and with a huff, he left the brownscape to enter the Pine Gap up ahead.

Coming in from the Pine GapAlthough he had crossed paths with a character that could possible rival even he himself in deviousness, Shinya strode proudly through the Mahogany Knoll, eager to get the Farfetch'd in his grip back where it belonged. Whether it wanted to be there or not. And once he got his hands on the HM containing the move Cut, the Team Skull grunt would be that much closer to his goal of spreading his team's reach far and wide of the land known as Johto. He even had a Pokemon ready, willing, and able to use the HM waiting in the wings. Or more specifically, his PC. Of course, before getting to any of that, Shinya had to first get the two runaway birds back to the young wood cutter. And so, he wasted no time in leaving the Mahogany Knoll behind, setting his sights back on the Luminous Vale, and the unconscious Farfetch'd that was still waiting there, pinned under the pile of large rocks. On Shinya's heels, though barely missing him because of the darkness and the whimsy of fate, Silas kept walking. His pace was steady and straight forward. One farfetch'd was in a bag over his shoulder and the other was in hand. Mercenary walked beside him, tail flicking, her stride easy, like she was in a pleasant enough mood, despite her earlier bloodlust. Her trainer had captured the birds. The prey. No need to sink her fangs in. Though if she saw something else worth devouring, she might just do so to have the satisfaction of a proper hunt.
"Keep a look out, Syn," he told his honchkrow. "Make sure our path is clear. We do not want any surprises."
