Pokémon found around Moss Rock Note: Pokémon levels range from 8 to 15. Special Moss Rock In front of the Moss Rock there is a sign:
The people of Azalea Town and Goldenrod City refer to this as the 'Moss Rock' due to the ample amounts of moss that cover it. The rock is known to exude strange properties. There are tales of people taking Eevees here to train with high hopes of obtaining the mythical Leafeon. Unfortunately, these reports have never been verified so the exact nature of this rock is officially unknown.

Entering from Conifer Crest. As the density of the conifers became a little too sparse, Joe realised they had explored into a new location. It still boasted a number of large foreboding trees around them but what was really the star of the location was a huge rock smack bang in the centre of the clearing. It was clearly a boulder of some description but what made it even more remarkable were the huge clumps of moss that covered it from head to toe. Scratching his head, Joe didn't quite know what to make of it. " Huh... So, this a tourist attraction or what?" Looking at it for quite some time, he eventually realised there was a sign on the other side of the momentous rock. Taking a few moments to read it through fully he chuckled once and shrugged disinterested. " Well bully for them. Not too sure if i'll test out that theory of gettin' a Leafon though... Eon's fine the way she is." Looking off in the distance, Joe plotted their next course of action. " Alright, let's head off on this eastern path."

Entering from Conifer Crest. Sure enough, as Joe passed through the thick crowd of conifers, a familiar mossy rock greeted him. " I kinda thought you were useless at first but now I gotta extend my thanks. You're a good key feature to look out for if you get lost." Walking past it, Joe saw the direction he had taken previously when in this area. " So how are you guys holding up? You must be getting tired?" Asked Joe with concern running throughout his voice. Sure enough, as he looked at his companions, they seemed to be wearily catching up with him. " Jeeeez. You guys should have said somethin'. Lupin! You've been carrying me for all of yesterday and Charmeleon, you were holding onto that irritable Farfetch'd." Taking out his Pokeballs, Joe ordered them to return. " Don't worry about me guys, I can handle myself from here on. I'm a big ugly *****." As they returned, Joe stretched his arms and realised that if the promise of light was anything to go by, that he and his group would be making a very soon exit out of Ilex.

Over the River & Through the Woods
---[Entering from Conifer Crest]---
Once she was out of sight from the bizarre tree-headbutting bald guy, Nadia made a quick run up a slope and as far as she could carry herself before becoming completely winded. She also made sure to still follow Cheeky who soared overhead, but didn't go with what paths there were. Running in as straight of a line as she could, Nadia jumped over fallen logs, small bushes, and over rocks until she got to the next part of the Ilex Forest.
Before her, there was a completely large stone covered in moss! It had a few outbreaks on it where one could sit down and catch their breath for a few minutes, like those running from a potentially insane stranger who has it hard for tree head smacking. Figuring she was a safe distance away from the weirdie, Nadia signaled for Cheeky to come on down and to have a quick break. The bird himself could keep on going for several more hours thanks to the earlier meal, but knows that humans don't quite have the stamina that most Pokemon have.
Drawing in deep breaths while leaning up against the stone, this moss covered rock was a prime example of something she learned about while in trainer's school. The evolution Pokemon, Eevee, would be able to evolve into a Leafeon when around a large mossy rock, such as this. It was always a mystery as to why Eevee would evolve into a Leafeon because of these stones over a reaction to a Leaf Stone like other Pokemon. Leaf Stones, along with the other kinds of evolutionary stones, radiated a special kind of energy that could change the molecules of certain kinds of Pokemon. As for a mossy stone? There was nothing special about it: No energy, no real profound effect... yet there it was. It would still evolve an Eevee into a Leafeon regardless and scientists are still baffled as to why. In the end, Eevee may be a very cute Pokemon, but always a popular topic for Pokemon researchers because of the peculiarities about it.
Nadia's daydreams about back to her school days seemed forever ago. She couldn't have waited to finally be able to go out and start her own journey with Pokemon, way back when. She enjoyed all the times she would actually be able to work with Pokemon as well, despite not having one for herself. Then she got Leonardo, and Cheeky soon after. Then there was the addition of Chuchu, Richie, Strawberry, and even Riolu. They're all unique in their own ways and no matter their flaws, Nadia loved them each and all the same. To even consider trading them off... it was just unheard off.
When finally getting her mind back into her body, Nadia had realized that she had her breath back completely and wondered for a moment how long she had been out of it. Getting her Pokegear, she checked the time real quick. It said it was somewhere around four in the afternoon, so looks like it actually wasn't too long. Maybe around ten minutes, give or take. Still considering she went into these woods around ten this morning, had that sidetrack Farfetch'd chase, had a lunch break for about two hours, she was making good time. Hopefully. Cheeky only knows how much further it was until they made it out of the forest. They might not be able to make it to the city before dark, but Nadia hopes to at least be out of the woods by then.
"Alright Cheeky, sorry about that wait," Nadia apologized with a smile, scratching the Swellow's head. "Meant to only catch my breath, but got lost in thought for a little bit. How about we get a move on now?"
Cheeky nodded and extended his wings out, taking off into the air gracefully and flirting about until he got to a comfortable altitude to where he was easy enough to spot for Nadia and lead her through the woods. The girl then got back onto her feet, dusted off his sundress free of any little patches of moss fuzz that stuck to her, and continued on. She hoped she wasn't much further from the forest's exit.

Sandy Katayko The scars of your love... ------------------------------------------------ [Coming in from Conifer Crest]
Sandy stopped to rest her hand on the mossy rock that she had come across, and sighed in relief as she stopped to rest. She and Darryl had been travelling for a little while, and she was getting tired, though the exit to the forest wasn’t far off now. Sandy looked down at Darryl, who was by now comfortably asleep. She carefully adjusted herself so she wouldn’t wake up the sleeping shrew. At least the Blizzard had stopped, making it so much easier for her to walk around.
“Alright, I should really go.” She whispered to herself after a good ten minutes. She had thought about what her Grandma told her. This rock was said to evolve an Eevee into Leafeon, but she wasn’t sure if that was true or not, but it was interesting to think about. She held onto her Sandshrew as she moved forward, making sure she wouldn’t slip from her jacket.

Incoming from Conifer Crest
To see such a large boulder perched in the middle of the woods was a bit odd. And to boot, the entire top half of it was covered in vibrant green moss. Tanya stepped closer to it, crunching over twigs and dead leaves. She extended a hand and touched the soft, slightly moist surface with curiosity evident in her eyes. Her father had told her about the times he'd gone wandering in the woods and how he'd stumbled across a mossy rock.
Some helpful hikers nearby told him it had special properties that allowed an Eevee to evolve into its Grass-type form, Leafeon. While she was skeptical of the claims, there was something different about this rock. Pulling back, Tanya pulled up the riddle the crazy old woman had given to her back in the misty glade. "Southwest of a mossy rock... well, we're in the right place. I just hope we can get our bearings," Tanya murmured, motioning to Saphira and moving out in the direction she was told to follow.
Onwards to Berry Haven -- Returning from Berry Haven
It was time to make the long, pain-in-the-ass trek back to the old hag in the weird glade. Tanya stared at the boulder as she passed, longing to just sit on it and rest her weary mind and body for but a few moments. But something told her to just hurry back, so rest would have to wait. Biting down on another sigh, the girl squared her shoulders and strode by the boulder, ignoring the complaints emanating from Saphira as she kicked out at the rock in annoyance.

Having great haste in their step to try and dash away from the crazy head butting man as quickly as possible, Sharada soon doubled over beside a huge rock. Resting her hands on her knees whilst breathing in and out rapidly, the brunette wiped her forward before gazing up at her Nidoqueen, who too looked a bit flustered. "Lets take a quick break." Sharada suggested, dropping to her knees and resting her back against the huge moss covered rock. Nodding in agreement, Nidoqueen also made herself comfortable on the floor, the chunky beast looking almost funny with her legs stretched out that Sharada found it difficult to resist a smile.
Diving into her bag, Sharada tugged out a packet of Pokefood, teared it open and handed it to her partner, "Here, it's not too much but it'll keep you going for a while longer. Thanks for sticking out here with me for so long." Smiling warmly as her Nidoqueen awkwardly grabbed the bag and looked away, pulling off her usual, "thanks, it's not as if I like you though" type of attitude. For herself, Sharada lit up a lone cigarette, placing it between her lips and striking it up before leaning back comfortably. Not that a jagged rock was comfortable at all. Staring up to the canopy above them, she forced out a stream of wispy smoke from her slightly parted lips, "It's kinda funny, I havent looked around Goldenrod properly yet. When Bob took me to HQ to sign up, we entered through a secret entrance on the edge of the city but even then we didn't travel this way around. Heh. I wonder if these big and glorious cities are as good as they crack up to be. Seaside towns are always a favourite in my book."
After a few more dregs, Sharada swiftly patted out the lighted end good and proper before flicking back into the cigarette packet and back into her bag so not to litter the forest. Heaving herself back up and onto her feet, she used her hands to brush herself down and readjust her already ruined clothing before turning towards their next location. "Well, that is the way we are heading next. It's been getting alot brighter recently, so hopefully we're pretty much there. You ready to do?" Not hearing Bellatrix moving and instead frantic rustles from the packet, Sharada turned to see what the problem was. About to burst into laughter, she could tell right away that there was just one more treat in the bag that her large claws couldnt quite reach, "-AHAHahaahah! Here, here.." Taking the packet away, Sharada tugged out the treat with her much smaller hand and handed it to her Nidoqueen, scrunching up the rubbish and thrusting it back into her bag as she waited for the Pokemon to stumble up onto her huge feet. "Right! Now we're ready."

Incoming from Conifer Crest
The big mossy rock was a welcome sight, although with the sun fully hidden below the horizon, there was no time to sit and rest near it. Something in the air smelled fresh, as if rain had fallen in this part of the forest recently. Or perhaps it was the rock itself, its mystical properties making themselves known. Saphira ignored the boulder entirely, as if not feeling the allure it let off. She was a Fire-type after all, perhaps the boulder only meant something to grass types. Tanya shrugged and kept moving, knowing nightfall was right around the corner.

In from Conifer CrestBy now, Justins walking pattern had become a bit staggered. Not from lack of food or water or anything like that, just pure straight fatigue. It was like an intense hike. Well, actually, that was exactly what it was. He turned to look down at Simba, who padded alongside him, easily. Oi. When you evolve, i'm gonna use you as a flippin mount or something. My means of transport. He joked. Simba clicked his fangs together with a smirk, that almost said Yeah right. The conifer trees slowly wafted out of sight behind him. Now they were approaching a rather large, mossy rock. Awesome. Just what I need. Not food. Big ass rock.He snorted, leaning up against it. However, when he did... He put his face on it with a smile. It feels so... cool! Not cool, but like temperature cool! He almost giggled, ecstatic he'd found something to help beat the humidity of the forest. It was starting to get kind of hot, despite the sun setting. It wasn't to that nice sunset yet. Justin would have stayed there forever if it weren't for Simba. He bit down on the pants leg of the boy and pulled him away from the rock. NOOOO! It's like AC! He groaned, but none the less continued on his way towards Goldenrod... wherever the hell that was... Onward to Evergreen!

With Yojimbo now strolling in a behaved manner by her side, it wasn't long before Sharada reached the familiar sight of Moss Rock. Looking up at a few patches of sky between the trees and odd trickle of rain seeping in, she was a little surprised that the nasty weather was still continuing. Also picking up on the storm, Yojimbo slowly turned to Sharada, knowing the words she was going to say as a hand wearily rubbed the back of her head. "Sorry... I think we might have to hang around for just a little bit longer. Even once we get out of the forest, the distance to Goldenrod is still far. I hope you understand." Nodding slowly, Yojimbo nattered his cry, eyes darting over towards the huge moss cloaked rock in the center of the area. Widening her eyes, the brunette was drawn to it too. Almost like it wore some sort of mystic power.
Placing a hand on a bit of rock, she turned to look down at the Dewott, "This place is nice and tranquil plus we still have overhead view on the weather. Let's wait here for a little while." Glancing around, the area was much larger than the section with the mushrooms which brought another grin to her face. "There are bound to be a few wild Pokemon to keep us busy or something. Let's have a quiet look around. We wont stray too far from the path." Reaching out for Yojimbo's claw to hold, the two stepped off the beaten path to look in between the tall trees and deep foliage, although they didn't go too far away from the rock either.

This part of the forest was a peculiar one at that. Which was something in itself given how weird and odd the rest of the forest could be at even the best of times. What was so unusual about this section of the forest was the landmark centred in the middle of it which it also owed its name too. The moss covered rock was unlike anything else in the region, almost as if it had come from another time, another place. It permeated a strange sort of aura from it for those who bothered to keep themselves around it for a long enough sense of time and there were even reports that this mossy rock had the power to induce a startling change in Pokemon with those of an an easily adaptable physiology. Nevertheless, it wasn't going to be the rock that would be at the crux of the matter for this encounter for Sharada and her loyal bodyguard. Instead, it would turn out to be a rather foolish little caterpillar. Frolicking around with all the fallen leaves that had nestled on the ground from seasons long passed, it seemed to be having the time of its life. Leaning forward over a bunch of leaves, it used its suction cup like legs and lifted them up and let out a little squeal as they all went flying down at gravity's beckon. Doing this again and again, it seemed to be wrapped up in its own little world. It was sights like these that showed how happy nature could be without the presence of mankind changing it for better or for worse. Picking up another batch of leaves, the Weedle watched them fall but froze on the spot as through the falling leaves it noted two figures off in the distance. Shrieking a little, it thought Sharada was an incredibly rare and large Pokemon in comparison to it and decided that it would fight for its territory. These were the best leaves to play with in the forest and it wasn't going to be letting go of them so easily. Encounter

As the Pokeball wobbled from side to side and tinged close, Sharada released a rather loud sigh of relief, her shoulders drooping tiredly. "Phew, atleast that's that." Stretching her arms above her head, the brunette tilted her head to one side, noticing the bear still shivering away, rocking it's legs back and forth. Looking down to Yojimbo, she crouched forward and whispered down to him, "Perhaps it's a little early to just send him out fightin. I'll have to spend a bit more personal time with the cub first." To save it anymore scares, the girl withdrew the Cubchoo without even a congratulations, worried that her voice would scare it some. Looking down at the ball which sat in her palm, Urso would need a lot more attention from her but right now, she was unsure if she could bring him out to his full potential with Rocket's on her back. Popping it back onto her holster and then kneeling down to accept the captured Weedle Yojimbo politely collected for her, she beamed happily, "Thanks Yojimbo!.. A Weedle, huh. Sure there is someone out there who would take care of it better than me."
Putting it away, her ears finally caught onto something, or rather, nothing. The once pelting rain over head and booms of thunder had turned to utter silence. "Huuh, is it over?" She questioned, the Dewott behind her sniffing the air. "If that is the case then we can go to that fish bar! How does that soun--??" Abruptly bursting out of his Pokeball with a bright flash of light, a rather mischievous looking Cheshire sat a top of Moss Rock, grinning down at her. "Huh? What is it Chesh? Unlike you to just burst out like that." His stomach suddenly growling caused her to topple forward slightly, his ears twitching slowly as if expecting something. "Oooh, I get it, you're annoyed cause you couldn't have that mushroom back there... Chesh, it could've been poisonous!" Trying her best to explain it to him, the corner of his grin drooped ever so slightly yet fangs were still wide on display. Rubbing her forehead wearily, she added, "Can't you wait till we're in Goldenrod?" Looking surprised as he shook his head rapidly from side to side, the brunette began searching through her bag, "Yojimbo had the last of my treats... Let's see what else I got floating around."
Cocking his own head drastically from one side to the other, Sharada looked up to him slightly with raised eyebrows, her search continuing until she found a packet of special Rare Candy sweets. Lifting up one, the blue wrapper appeared to make his eyes glitter and lips be licked, a raspy meow escaping from his mouth as if agreeing with what was before him. "You.. want these? I guess I can spare you a few, buddy. Not that they'll fill you." Feeding Cheshire a sweet one at a time, his eyes seemed to widen at one point, his body fighting back the urge to change as he took a dramatic bite down on the fourth. "W-Wow, calm it Chesh! One more for you , alright?" Afraid he accidentally bit down on his trainer, this time he licked the sweet up from her palm and chomped on it, eyes pinning shut as he began to feel strange. Sensing this, Sharada frowned, "See?! I told you you shouldn't have eaten so many! C'mon you, back inside!" However, before she could return her strange behaving friend, he released a rather high pitch meow, rattling yet another Pokeball on Sharada's belt and forcing out Devia, her Liepard. Yawning tiredly, the violet feline gave a rather unimpressed glare up at Cheshire, "Whats going on?!" The brunette questioned again, even more tense wrinkles forming on her forehead.
Leaping down from the rock, Sharada witnessed what appeared to be some sort of confession. Cheshire was mewwing frantically to Devia, trying to express his affections, the female merely turning her nose up and snorting. Sick of all this one sided love, Cheshire actually lost his grin for once, eyes flinching shut as he body began to glow, "Chesh-CHESH?!" Sharada called as a bright light engulfed her precious feline, Devia merely flickering her ears as a faint breeze rolled over the group. Right before them, the small Meowth grew in side, taking over the height of the Liepard. Appearing to have a much larger frame, Sharada's squinted eyes were soon to widen, the evolution taking place. The sight of this new, royal feline was even enough to make Devia turn her head in interest. Appearing to lose his once cursed grin, a large Persian stood, his deep cry mewwing as his eyes connected with Devia's. The two were silent, Cheshire trying to determine in Devia was now interested. In a sly and teasing manner, she oddly stepped forward and rubbed her head under his chin in an affectionate manner. Now overjoyed at a possible couple as well as a new partner, Sharada couldn't quite wipe the grin from her own face, "Ooh Chesh! I'm SO proud! You finally look so beautiful and.. U-Urrgh?"
Just as she hoped this phase was long gone, it appeared that the newly evolved Persian was holding back a great deal. Slowly but surely his face morphed into that of a new, maniacal grin. Eyes widening in an insane manner as the love of his life finally acknowledged him. But with Devia, happiness never followed. Slowly moving back, her eyes narrowed at the sight of his disgustingly creepy grin appearing yet again! Shrieking, she turned and flicked her tail in his face, prancing up to Sharada and pressing her own Pokeball with her nose, being drawn back inside. Sharada, on the other hand, just stood twitching nervously, the sight of this grinning cat being even more creepy than before. "C-Chesh! Y-You look g-great!" Suddenly falling back into a depressive state, the feline hung his head low, "Cheer up buddy, you were almost there! Just give it a little more time, eh?" Meowing deeply, her eyebrows raised, "I think you look really handsome, Chesh. C'mon, let's go get that fish, eh?" His head slowly cranking back up with a wicked grin, even Sharada felt her hair stand on end, "Ha-hah-haha! Return for now, I'll call you when we get there!" Returning the grinning cat, she sighed down to Yojimbo, "I think we're all ready for something to eat, eh?"

Stumbling through from Conifer Crest.Despite feeling the previous crest of conifers was a little more tame in comparison to some other parts of the forest, Tobias started to stumble as he got his stride stuck in the long swathes of grass that had now sprouted around them. With the trees themselves now shrinking in size, it was something else that made this particular area of the forest a sight to behold. The light around them was of a strange emerald hue, a colour not exactly natural. Looking around, it appeared empty without so much a sound in the air aside from the odd gust of wind that blew its way through the vicinity. Eventually, the group made their way to what could only be described as the dead centre of the zone. Before them stood an impressive rock that was covered from head to toe in a strange, thick moss. Something about this rock emanated from it but it interested Tobias little. " Where next?" He asked bluntly. Although it felt they had been making progress, the end was still nowhere in sight. At this rate, they would be trapped here with winter on its way. Attuning itself to the forest once more, Charon wasted little time in working out where their next route was. " Come, master. Our next exit lies directly, north east of here. My protection has prevented us thus far from being afflicted by the evil souls that dwell here but I can feel their grasp less and less as we move on. We are surely nearing the end." Marching on, it was good news indeed if there was little left on their journey to make.

Coming from the Conifer Crest.Upon reaching the next area a huge moss covered rock came into view with a sign mentioning a local legend regarding it's purpose. Marchbaby was rather intrigued by the rock however as he did not have an Eevee on his team he could not put the legend to the test nor did he want to spend any more time in the forest after going through such a long day. As he looked around he saw another area of the forest not too far away and it looked pretty promising to him. After being in this forest for so long he really hoped the next area would e the last stop before reaching the exit. Moving on to the Evergreen Range.Ooc: 114 words towards the Nidoran Female word count.
