Being physically dragged and pushed away from the proximity of the crazy headbutting man from the previous area, both Pokemon loosened their guiding on the human and instead, stood still at the sight of a large, mossy rock up ahead. "Phew, I guess that means you guys feel a bit more safe now?" Smiling, Catherine didn't feel any hostility regarding the random stranger in the middle of the forest but if he spooked her Pokemon then she wasn't going to argue. Arms stretching up into the air, Catherine let out a mighty yawn as she stepped amongst the mossy path. However, as they grew closer towards the large, mossy focal point, the Eevee suddenly buried itself within the afro on the Bouffalant. Feeling this, the bull looked up a grunted softly, bringing a pair of raised eyebrows to the face of Catherine too.
"You okay in there, buddy?" Leaning forward to part the afro, Catherine couldn't quite believe how thick this bristly fur or hair of the Pokemon's was. Only managing to find a twitching ear of the Eevee she soon covered him back up and shrugged to the Bouffalant. "Something probably spooked Eevee. But it's okay, we'll just move on!" Sensing a weird aura from the rock, the fluffy fox simply wanted them to move on and continued to prod at the end of the Bouffalant until it got the message. Strolling forward, Catherine followed with her hand placed carefully on the body of the bull. "So listen, this one time I--" Carrying back on with her stories, the voice of Catherine made Eevee feel unusually calm or maybe it could just tell that it was moving away from the obscure rock.

-coming from Conifer Crest-With the coniferous trees and crunchy ground behind him, now Ethan had just walked around a giant rock with moss on it. This forest was just really, really strange! Though the strange scenery in this forest gave him some ideas for his musical inspirations, but for now, he needs to get himself out of this forest before he would be stranded and dead as a nobody. -going to evergreen range-

-coming from conifer crest-Still feeling energized after the encounter with the legendary Pokemon, Alex now found himself on another part of the forest, which was notable for the mossy appearance, and a giant boulder covered with moss. This was a splendid view, but he wouldn't linger too long because he got a new city to explore. Walking around the walk, he found another set of footprints and followed it, making his way to wherever previous visitors went to. This better be going to the exit. -evergreen range-

Moss Rock to Evergreen!
| | Coming in from Conifer CrestTyrana seemed to be in higher spirits as they left the conifers behind, probably because of the promise of food and a decent bed. Proton had given her directions to the hideout under Goldenrod, but the first thing she wanted was a tall, strong drink. Maybe some food. Being stuck here in the forest sucked. "Here's hoping we're going the right way." She grunted, patting Ares absentmindedly as they progressed forward. A large, moss covered rock came into view but without Tyrana's flames on her tail she wouldn't be able to make out too many details. Digging her heel in slightly to signal a stop from Ares, Rhoan slid off the saddle and beckoned Tyrana to follow to investigate the strange rock just a hair shy off the beaten path. "Heh, it almost looks like that one back in Oblivia." She grunted to herself, half amused. When she was hunting down the Magmar that had scarred up part of her face, she'd trekked past something similar before. "One of my contacts told me his Eevee companion had evolved near that rock. They don't keep Pokemon like people do here. No pokeballs." She explained to Tyrana, who cocked her head to the side with confusion. "Yeah, the magic power of friendship and working together. Made Pokemon real easy for nabbing. I climbed up on a rock just like this..." Finding a good foothold, the rocket pulled herself up on top of the Mossy behemoth. "Had my gun all locked and loaded, shot a dart, boom. End of story. Some cases I preferred to bag 'em the hard way. Of course, that's how I got scarred like an idiot." She had always thought that was a prideful thing, her face. Now reliving the story here at a stupid rock that reminded her of it opened her eyes to how stupid she used to act. She was lucky she hadn't died. This region was making her soft. Did she really have the right to keep her Red Tiger moniker? "Anyways. I'd grapple with Pokemon and knock them out with a fist dart, then bag 'em and sell 'em. Oblivia officials hated it, but hey, no battles to worry about. Just you versus a Pokemon. It's almost fair that way." She shrugged, hopping back up onto Ares. "I can almost smell freedom. We can't be far now, let's go."Departing to Evergreen Range |

His eyes lifted, a bit of excitement rising as he spotted the landmark. "Moss Rock." This was it. His sign that he was on the right track and not lost! For the most part. He was sure this was it, the fabled rock. He'd been over much of the forest today and there hadn't been anything anywhere near this size. Even here it was an oddity that stood out like a sore thumb. [break][break]
Damien approached, momentarily side tracked with intrigue regarding the large stone. It glistened in the light, streaming with water flow down its sloped side. Even with all the moss climbing up its surface it looked absolutely swimming in moisture from afar, though, once he was close there was very little happening at all. A curious effect. The ranger reached a hand to lightly brush the stone as if expecting something strange to happen. But nothing did. It was just a giant rock subject of many stories. He smiled, removing his hand from Moss Rock. [break] "Maybe one day I'll see if there's any truth to you," he half whispered. A spark of amusement in his tone as if accepting a silent bet. [break][break]
It would be quite a while before he had the means to try anything, and given all that time he may never actually return to make an attempt. It only worked with eevees after all, and those critters were highly sought after rare pokémon. He'd prefer to focus on all the good pokémon he had with him already than chase after something so fleeting. For now he just needed to get back to finding his way out of Ilex before the sun went down.

OOC: Coming from the Conifer Crest, heading to the Evergreen Range.
IC:
As Tyler and his Pokemon reached the heavily forrested area the legendary rock known as the Moss Rock came into view. It was huge and Tyler knew Höllenhund would be able to fit on it to rest for a few minutes. As Höllenhund jumped on top the rock to lie down Tyler read the sign in front of it to pass the time and to see if any of the rumors were true. Sadly the sign just repeated what he already knew. Still if he ever did get his hands on an Eevee he would have to bring it here to see if the legends were true. While the others relaxed Mania kept an eye out to see if the forest guardian would pop up again.
Mania knew they werw quite far from the shrine now but as the guardian watched over the whole forest she still felt something even way out here. She did not bring it up to Tyler but she still wanted to leave the forest as soon as she could before anything went wrong. By now Höllenhund had rested his legs just enough to keep going for now but they still had to know where they were going. There only looked to be one path forward which seemed to have at least any many trees as this area but they were of a different species. Still to be sure they looked around for a map or sign or anything else to confirm it.
A few seconds later Mania saw a map nailed to a tree showing both their current location and the way out of the forest which was indeed down the path they saw. " It looks like the next area is called the Evergreen Range and right next to it is the forest exit. We are nearly there so Höllenhund you should not need to rest anymore." Tyler cracked a big smile hearing the news as he could hardly wait to reach Goldenrod after all this time. He was sure that Headquarters would have a mission for him when he got there and then hopefully he could earn a real uniform instead of the street clothes he cirrently wore. Thqt and maybe a few prizes for his loyality.
" Ok enough time has been wasted here, let's get to the next area so we can be one stop closer to the big city and one step closer to leaving this damned forest once and for all."

((Coming from coinfer crest Another area, another path. When will this torture end? Polipop had not lost any morale, but Ororo sure had. It felt like eons had been taking its toll on her in this play and she wasn’t quite sure that she wasn’t in some time chamber where time never moved. “This is a maze, surely there could be something the city could do in order to make it easier to go through? Right now, this feels like torture.” She said. Polipop nodded slightly, he wasn’t too broken up about the time length. Hell, he thought most things were fun, he was just a jolly Pokemon overall. It was a huge comfort to have made it past the Conifer Crest. Ilex Forest was a hazard to any reckless trainers. Navigating safely required a lot of patience and self-control. It was easy to become distracted by the varying surroundings and possibly, on a regular day, the selection of wild Pokémon.
After hauling himself down the steep slope, he decided to take a minute to catch his breath. He sauntered up to a huge moss-covered rock and leaned back against it. "I just need a minute." Looking back at the area he'd just come from, or the part of it that he could make out, he realised just how dangerous it was. If he'd seen it from this angle before, he wouldn't have even considered it. He was proud of himself for not falling and getting injured.
"What is going on with that guy? That was so bizarre!" Andrew laughed. While he was doing his best to avoid injuries at all costs, that man was flat out killing his brain sells by ramming his head against trees. "At least he was nice enough to teach you the move, I guess." Yael nodded, pleased with the new move pool she'd been given since entering the forest. "Anyway, I guess we'd better keep moving." Andrew suggested, stretching out. The trail was beginning to look a lot more people-friendly again, suggesting that they were getting close to an exit.

--Entering from Conifer Crest-- "Bellsprout! You did it! No wait, you are a Weepinbell now! That is so cool!" Hector exclaimed and swung his newly evolved pokemon around by his leaves. The grass pokemon squealed happily and seemed like he was full of energy as he kept jumping up and down as he was put down, all the bruises was forgotten. Hector was quick to turn to his other pokemon and rummage through his back to find something to help them "You all were so great, if it hadn't been for you Bells.. I mean Weepinbell would never have been able to win and evovle! It's amazing, I don't know how to thank you all!" he blabbered and found some healing items he applied to his pokemon. "Taking care of them is certainly a good start," Astrid said with a laugh, she had offered him some of her own healing items but Hector had refused as he had more than enough himself. He might be bold and rash but he was well prepared when it came to his pokemon's well being. Raticate flexed and Pidgeotto began to preen its feathers when they had been healed. Eevee almost couldn't wait for the treatment to be done as she was up on her feet and ready to go, even though they were shaking below her, the moment Hector gave Pidgeotto the first spray. Hector laughed as he struggled with his eager pokemon, she definitely wasn't held back by a bit of pain. "We're ready to go!" Hector declared a moment after as Eevee shook her fur and skipped ahead. The path was still slippery but since Hector and his pokemon weren't in such a hurry anymore it wasn't affecting them that much anymore. The battle against the big ekans had been tough and Hector's pokemon really needed a break, which he was glad to give them. "It's weird, I feel drained, almost like if I was battling myself and got poisoned, but I wasn't, I just stood still and watched," He said to Astrid sounding dazed. "Oh no young man, I am just watching when my pokemon is battling, you certainly are not!" She declared with a warm smile, "you put up a tactic and guided your pokemon through it all, you had just as much adrenaline rushing through you like your pokemon, and while you stood still you used the brain, kept your cool and kept the big picture instead of getting lost at the setbacks. It was wonderful to see."Hector straightened and walked proudly on after that praise. Hector was soon back and babbling about the battle and Astrid ended up only listening with half an ear, saying 'Mh', and 'really?' a few times but otherwise didn't really participate. He kind of went around in circles in his one-sided conversation. They rounded a corner and out of the dense vegetation a huge rock appeared. Hector went quiet. "How peculiar," Astrid said slowly and Hector regained his ability to speak. "That's humongous!" He exclaimed, "how did it end out here all alone?"Astrid shrugged, having no explanations and Hector ran to it followed by his pokemon. Pidgeotto landed on top and tripped around curiously while Eevee put her paws up against the rock and cried out, she wanted to get op there and be on the top of the world too! Astrid dismounted as Hector walked around the boulder, with Eevee at his heels in the hope that he could find her a way up! "Do you think something has dropped it here? Like a really big pokemon?" Hector asked Astrid who frowned. "I think it is more likely that a ground type has pushed it up," she pointed out and Hector instantly looked down. Wordcount: 621 --Waiting for an encounter.

The rock was an impressive sight to say the least. A fuzzy behemoth of greens and slate. Slippery too. The landmark had a tendency to draw in passersby just like Hector and today was no exception. The curious lad and his accompanying troupe were not the only ones to circle the interesting stone however. Up above gently gliding along the breeze was a puff of white. An object constrastably comparable to the boulder below it too was silent and fuzzy, but it's size was on the scale of the evolution pokémon padding on the forest floor. Each rotation around Moss Rock brought it closer to the group below, eventually proving features beyond being a stray wisp of cotton with leaves stuck in its side. Amber eyes were at a steady calm gaze toward all the creatures below it, and it was turning itself as it went so it was always facing in on them as it floated about; questionably of its own will or by the insistence of a faint breeze rustling the tree tops. Closer and closer it got. With the patience of a Saint it seemed completely unbothered about where it was going or where it would end up. Eventually, its eyes gleaming in sunbeams, found particular interest in the eevee. The bottom puff of the tiny cloud rose, making the wild pokémon appear like a proud grandpa with his face concealed in a bushy white beard. Soon the cottonee took to flapping its leaf like wings and seemed to be trying to aim itself atop the rock which Pidgeotto had taken up position; though it didn't appear to be trying to battle. Seemed more like it was just trying to land itself somewhere prominent in the center of attention. A Sagely Cottonee floated in! (Lv 9) Go here to battle Shiny? O3H_B1ty1-421-42

As Eevee turned back to the cottonee she paused at the sight of the spores drifting through the air. She snickered and easily ran around them in her rush towards her target. She had seen Weepinbell used similar stuff plenty of times already and she was not scared of it at all, she just had to hold her breath as she dived below the cloud. Well out on the other side she leaped upwards and sent the fluffball whirling into the sky. Eevee cried out her victory roar as she dumped ungracefully down to the ground and she began hopping around in celebration. She did it! She had won! And all by herself! She turned to look at Hector eagerly and saw his big grin. She blinked a few times as some light became really sharp and in the end forced her to close her eyes shut. She felt some tugging at her tail and ears, her feet and chest too and she stumbled forward confused, what was going on? The light subsided and she shook her body to get rid of the weird feeling and growled annoyed when a leaf hit her in the face. She flinched as she heard Hector's scream and she stared shocked at him and his horrified look at her. She looked down herself and stared at the leaf sticking to her butt, what had that cottonee done to her?! As her ears went down in horror, they got into view as well and she leaped away only to realise that they were stuck on her too! She grabbed her leafy tail in her mouth and tried to pull it out but just ended out wailing from the pain and she batted at a leafy ear in the way in frustration and then fell over her now longer legs. She cried terrified as she lay on the ground and stared at her long legs and then it slowly dawned on her that she hadn't been made into some leafy freak by the cottonee, she had evolved! The newly evolved pokemon screamed in panic and threw herself at her tail which she began to pull at with no care of the pain, this couldn't be happening! "What's wrong?" Helen asked worried and the leafeon stopped tucking and stared at her with wild eyes. "Wrong?!" She screeched, "This is wrong! I don't want to be this! Get it off!" the leafon wailed and started to attack her tail again. "You didn't want to evolve?" Helen asked a bit confused. "No! yes.. no! Not into this! I wanted to breathe fire, not being this fragile thing that will wither at nothing! I want to go back!" the leafon cried and realization hit the spinarak as she remembered that some pokemon could evolve into different forms. Helen looked with pity at the distraught leafeon but there was nothing to be done. While she didn't have much training in handling upset civilians she knew she couldn't let the leafeon injure herself and resolutely covered her with sticky threads and laid herself on top, forcing the leafeon to lay still. It took some time for the leafeon to wear herself out and first when she laid still weeping did Helen crawl off her and give her som reassuring pats with a leg. "I'm sorry, but there is not much which can be done," Helen said quietly, "and while you might not be able to breathe fire you can certainly can do something great, and your new form is really pretty," Helen said in an attempt to cheer the leafeon up. She got a glare as reward. "I don't want to be pretty!" the grass type spat and sighed resigned, "I know I'm stuck like this and I know the chances of becoming what I wanted was slim but I had hoped since my trainer didn't have a fire type. I even had thought of what other of my forms I'd be okay with and like but this, this is just the most horrible one."They sat a bit in silence as Helen didn't know what to say and the leafeon just stared dull ahead. "Hey," said the leafeon after a bit and pulled herself up a bit, "why haven't my trainer and his pokemon not come over to me?" she asked and looked worred at Helen who looked helplessly back and did her version of a shrug. ~~~ Astrid stared at the mess in front of her, the eevee had evolved into a leafeon and neither than nor Hector was thrilled with it. The boy was wailing about not getting an umbreon and that life was unfair while his newly evolved leafeon had begun to attack herself. "Helen, go and help Eevee, I mean the leafeon, see what you can do," Astrid ordered her spinarak who swallowed nervously. The spinarak had wanted to be a part of the police force but had much more experience with the hands on kind of stuff, and not so much with the talking, humans often took care of that. Astrid walked over to Hector who was beside himself with his three pokemon trying to confort him. "Hector!" Astrid snapped at the boy looked at her with tears streaming down his cheeks. "Pull yourself together, this is not the end of the world and your pokemon needs you!""But I wanted an umbreon," Hector wailed, "and now I'm stuck with a leafeon.""Stop right there!" Astrid snapped and he got so surprised of the fury in her voice he stopped crying. "Stop thinking of yourself for a moment, you might not get what you hoped for, but your leafeon clearly did not want to become that either and is now stuck as that. Instead of being there and support her deal with this you are complaining about not getting a cool toy to show off." She scolded and Hector opened his mouth to defend himself. "No buts! You are a trainer and you are supposed to get your pokemon become the best they can be, not shaping them into what you'd like them to be. They are live pokemon, not toys!" She continued and Hector began to cry again. "I'm sorry..." he hiccuped and Astrid sighed more calmly. "It is not me you should apologize to," she said and gestured towards the leafeon who was laying in the grass covered with Helen's string shot, with the spinarak at her side. They were both looking towards Hector and his pokemon and the boy looked down. "You have done such great job with your other three, what is the difference with this one? Why should she suddenly become a trophy when you have come so far with the others and was doing things right?" Astrid asked and Hector hid his face in his hands and didn't answer. Raticate pushed herself up against his side, while the two others looked at him sadly. Astrid looked around and decided they would think better if they were walking and got away from the place, where it all had happened. Hopefully they could mend some wounds after some time. She got Hector to his feet and collected her stuff and lead the way away from the big boulder. She didn't like to see that the leafeon kept her distance from her team now, and that neither Hector or his pokemon tried to rebuild the relationship. Coming from the Conifer Rest
Kevin took note of the moss covered rock in the area as he quickly walked by. He remembered hearing that Eevee would react to the rock if they were brought here but as his Eevee had already evolved into a Sylveon there was little reason to investigate for now. He quickly followed the path by the rock heading to the next area.

Maxwell king » Word Count: OOC: Coming from Conifer Crest and moving onto Evergreen Range! Max and Crimson continued their travels through the Ilex Forest and found themselves in an area with a rather large rock covered in moss, to him it meant nothing, to others it served as an essential ingredient in the evolution of an Eeevee into a Leafeon.
"Nothing real interesting about this part of the forest, it's just a rock covered in moss, big deal"
Max and Crimson continued onwards towards an area up ahead that appeared overwhelmingly green, the exit was sure to be nearby the male young adult thought to himself as he questioned how much longer he would have to traverse the inner windings of the forest, one thing was for certain, an appetite had built up and Max was all too keen to give the body what it wanted.

-Coming from Conifer Crest- The trainers traveled in silence and Astrid became even more quiet as they pass a big mossy rock. She reminded herself she would need to ask Aglaia how the leafeon was doing, she hadn't heard from her granddaughter in a while and the poor pokemon had something to work through after her unwilling evolving and more or less abandonment of her trainer. "Hey, mind if i ask you a question?" Rita asked the stantler whose ear twitched and it looked surprised at her, then agreed. -leaving for Evergreen Range-

Coming from the Conifer Crest.
After getting a free TM from a man with obvious head trauma Tyler made his way to the Moss Rock. He was not about to head back and check on the man as he could care less for his safety so long as he did not try and take the TM he gave away. With it being pitch black outside now Tyler was in a hurry to get through the last few areas of the forest. After walking past the Moss Rock the could see the outskirts of the Evergreen Range and he quickly departed for the next area.
