The Paras was a strange little one, but it did not provide them any help with the way it was aggressive and obviously out of its mind. Luigi knew well from living in the Great Mushroom Kingdom that these Paras were usually mindless drones that went about their ways with no awareness of surroundings.

Thankfully, the fog also lifted and they were able to see their surroundings a little clearer. However, this led to more Pokemon hiding in the background as they would naturally. The Chingling looked around and turned her body left and right. "Hmm... I thought I sensed one nearby we could ask questions."

"I mean, I can hear rustling in the background too, this isn't your psychic power. Come on now, you're trying to make your psychic power sounds more awesome than it really is! Luigi replied, shrugging off the floating Pokemon's colorful description of her power.

There was always life teeming in the forest. Inching along branches and resting in grasses. One such pokemon was ambling along, nibbling at leaves, trying to get a snack before all the leaves were gone for the winter. It was a bright green caterpie. A little chubby but for some reason not yet evolved. Maybe the circumstances weren't right for it to form a cocoon, but here it was, minding its own business and NOT being a cottonee, cascoon or murderous paras. 

As it found a leaf, it shoved it in its mouth and squealed with utter delight!

<Every leaf are a succulent dream upon the pallet! Oh how I love thee sweet delights. Come spring, you shall be soft and even sweeter.>

"Heey woah! Why did you bite me?" Bell was taken by surprise by the Caterpie's bug bite. She certainly wasn't expecting such a bug Pokemon to be leaping in the air to give her a bite like that. However, after the Caterpie was befriended by Luigi's comforting words, it calmed down and crawled next to the grass type.

"OUUIIEE. My head hurts so much! Why did you do that?" The Caterpie softly asked the psychic type, leaning on the Shroomish for support, who already had the Chikorita on its head. One wondered how long it takes to recover from that curse given the grass type starter was still passed out. "I am sorry I don't know anything about Celebi! I was born yesterday? Or two days ago and it's already hard defending myself in this rough forest! Who are you guys?"

"You should apologize to the Caterpie, your psychic power had gotten super strong!" Luigi jumped on his little spot and demanded from Bell, who was now a Chimecho.

The Chimecho floated in front of the bug type, and lowered herself and apologized. "I am sorry, little baby Caterpie. I didn't realize I was getting too strong."

"Okay! Don't use it on me again!" The Caterpie shouted and accepted the Chimecho's apology.

Suddenly, the Chikorita on the Shroomish's head stirred, and the grass type quickly put it down as it was waking up.

The sounds of various unknown Pokemon had intrigued the young Cottenee who had grown bored of collecting leaves and watching the more common wild Pokemon walking around the Moss Rock. The small cotton covered fairy was quite shocked by the sight of a Chimecho as they were never seen in this part of the forest and neither were Shroomish or Chikorita. Cottonee did not know how to proceed as it watched the group from a distance trying not to start a fight if it could avoid one. It watched for quite some time from a bush as to not get spotted when suddenly if felt a prick coming from behind as a Paras jabbed it with one of it's pincers wondering what it was.

The Cottonee leaped out of the bush in pain floating around without any control for a few seconds before it rushed right into a tree near Luigi and Bell. The fairy was dzed from the impact and as it's vision started to return to normal it found itself right in the middle of the group. Quite terrified by now Cottonee was not sure what to do next as it had not clue what a strange group of Pokemon might do to it. Fear got the better of it as it sunnedly fired off a Stun Spore that fell just short of the group and as Cottonee realized such a move was not going to be seen as friendly it got ready for a battle.

It hoped it could somehow win and get away without taking too much damage but it was outnumbered and not very skilled at battles due to it's young age.

"See, we're not an army of evil Pokemon. We're just lost and looking for our human!" The Shroomish explained to the Cottonee, who finally understood the other grass type Pokemon. By now, the gang got a little larger, with the Chikorita who had now awakened, the Caterpie who ware recently born but managed to survived to be decently able to defend itself, the original Shroomish and now-Chimecho who were looking for clues on their human's whereabouts, and the newly joined Cottonee who was just here to tag along to explore the world outside of the forest, when they would eventually leave.

"Please don't mind me, I could be a little clumsy at times. It's best I follow between some of you, so I don't fall behind or something." The Cottonee muttered, and situated itself somewhere between the whole group.

However, before anyone could say anything, Luigi had now evolved into another Pokemon, who was easily four times where he was standing. In addition, he now have hands! He could literally carry two Pokemon, one on each arm, and have another one holding onto his head-cap for whatever reasons!

"Wow! I have hands now! I-- I can use them when I talk and I don't have to wiggle my legs!" the duo type Pokemon exclaimed elatedly.

"Con--gratulations on your evolution! Now your bright light really wake me up. What happened? I don't feel pain anymore?" The Chikorita stifled a yawn, but Luigi's bright and shiny evolution now attracted another Pokemon, so the explanation would have to happen while the main plot continued.

The bright light did indeed draw attention from the denizens of the forest. And startled man into scattering. Didn't you hear the rumors about that human apparently being stolen by some bright light? It was all the cottonee clan could talk about. However, one little bug wasn't so lucky as to be able to just...escape. It tried to scuttle away with the others but couldn't keep a good grip on the branch. The flash of light left it half blinded and befuddled and as it tried to get to the stable trunk of the tree, its precarious perch snapped.

SCREEEEE!!!

The little weedle tried to grab onto anything at all to stop its fall. But alas, it could not. Instead it fell on top of Luigi's newly bigger head and bounced off to land into a patch of leaves on the forest floor.

"I am sorry, I am scared to fall down and get stuck in the snow, but it looks like it's not that deep!" The Weedle apologized, looking down on the snow as it wiggled its rear legs to feel the snow. It then asked curiously. "You guys have a big crowd here, what's going on?"

Bell quickly chimed in. "Our human had disappeared! We're trying to find clue about her disappearance and hope to find ways to bring her back!"

"Your human... now that you mentioned it, I kind of remember a non-Pokemon noise speaking to me!" Chikorita joined in, shifting its eyes trying to remember what it had heard while it passed out unconscious.

"Your human seems like a nice person, mind if I join and wait for her return? I am sorry I don't know anything about that though." The Weedle cried out, excited to meet this kind human, and to escape from this harsh Ilex Forest environment that it used to live in.

"So uh... what are we doing now?" The Chikorita asked.

"We'll just keep asking the next Pokemon who might know something." Luigi replied, and turned forward to look for the next Pokemon around.

The snowstorm that blazed through the terrain created a harsh onslaught of snow and ice. The wintry demon struck out at the world, slapping the tall greyish-brown trunks of towers pines, and sweeping willows with a vengeance. Many of the other Pokemon that once called the area home rushed off in a flurry of loud calls and shrill squeaks, each darting up the wide trunks and into the bushy canopies for cover. Howling winds shredded the thick branches above, knocking them against each other, and causing small green caterpillars and brown caterpillars to fall from their reaches into the snow-covered grounds below.

Though, whether Chikorita and Bell wanted to help them or not, it wouldn’t matter. They each zipped quickly through the overgrowth of tall brownish-green grasses in different directions in a hurry, disappearing from sight nearly as quickly as they might have appeared. Only one brave warrior marched through the torrential hurricane of snow and ice. It chanted a strange melody, almost upbeat and cheery, with an eerie tune. “We are strong, strong, strong fungi! That we are, that we are, that we are! And so brave, brave, brave fungi! We never stall, we never stall, we never stall! We remain tough, tough, tough fungi! Chase off foes, chase off foes, chase off foes! For we are strong, strong, strong fungi! We never fall, we never fall, we never fall!” Whenever it finished the last chorus line, the little bug would just start all over again.

It stopped in front of the two Pokemon however and blinked thoughtfully, before glancing around and realizing that legitimately nothing within the area looked like Mushroom Kingdom. Then, it would pull out a small acorn whose top shell had been removed and who had been shaven into some sort of makeshift ‘weapon’ that it waved around in the air as a warning. “St-stay back! I’m a str-strong str-strong str-strong fungi! I never st-stall!” It issued its obviously terrified ‘brave’ statement firmly. “G-give up now and y-you’ll only b-be taken as pri-isoners!” It insisted.

"Capture me with what?" The Chimecho yelled back at the Paras before casually moving it and dropping it away with her psychic power.

Before any conversations could resume again, the Metapod this time glowed again into a brilliant light as it shifted into its final form. The non-assuming bug type grew wings, antenna, and arms and legs. It could now fly away from Ilex Forest if it wanted, but it decided to stay with the group for their team chemistry and quirks.

"Now it's my turn to evolve, wow!" The Butterfree floated, checking around its new body. "I went from having many legs to just a pair of arms and legs!"

"I am pretty sure you had like two pairs of legs and now it's just a pair of arms and a pair of legs..." The Psychic type snarked, getting comfortable with the newly acquainted and evolved Pokemon.

Luigi interrupted them this time. "Congratulations, Butterfree! Okay, but we'll keep asking the next one that appeared, just not the Paras." He began looking around the Moss Rock once again.

As Luigi looked around the moss rock for any other visitors it was not long before the hail forced another Pokemon out of hiding. The strange looking cocoon Pokemon known as Metapod hopped around the strange rock almost as if it was trying to perform a ritual of some kind not noticing the Breloom mere feet away. Whether it was the hail that prevented Metapod from hearing Luigi or if the cocoon Pokemon was just deaf was anyone's guess but regardless it continued to bounce around for some time. The sight might have been worrying had it been a more threatening species but as a lowly Metapod it was just a pathetic sight. Once Metapod did realize it was being watched it became a tiny bit more aggressive.

It bounced towards Luigi determined to scare the strange Pokemon off though it might be a hard goal to achieve as it lacked any useable limbs. The brave Metapod nonetheless continued to bounce up and down trying to get the message across that it did not like Luigi there and if the Breloom did not leave it would resort to becoming the hardest object in the universe to try and get Luigi to grow bored and leave it alone. It was anyone's guess just how effective such a hilariously bad plan would work but Metapod was not going to be nice to any Pokemon owned by a trainer.

"Uhh... Thank you!" Bell replied, confused herself as she wasn't expecting to be thanked by the newly-evolved Butterfree. She was processing what happened when the grou-Butterfree added in her encouragement.

"Congratulations, Butterfree!" The bug cried out. "I hope you enjoy your new chapter! Fly away from this forest!"

"Ooh! Farewell!" The Chimecho hollered, as she didn't intend to see this particular Butterfree again in the forest, right?

However, that wasn't the only evolution taking place, as the Weedle had also metamorphized into a rigid Kakuna. "Wooah. I evolved too! Once I get my wings I won't be scared of falling!" The bug type hummed to itself. Something must be in the air since everybody was evolving left and right!

"If I wasn't passed out from the curse, I would like to evolve and be stronger too! Let's go look for the human you're speaking about!" The Chikorita prodded the Breloom.

"Oh, right! Or look for Pokemon who knew anything about Celebi or human disappearance!" The fighting type continued, taking steps forward once again to co-lead the group with the Chimecho.

The small group of Pokemon continued on their way, truly a merry little band of interesting personalities and relationships among them. Shadows abound in a forest as dense and tight as this one and it was never truly known what or who was watching when someone moved through the rugged paths.

Hopefully, the group would keep close ranks, which would help in terms of one of the members of the party getting attacked. This worked especially well if one or two Pokemon were younger or less experienced than others. A smaller shadow passed over them, very quickly. If any of them stopped to look up, they wouldn't see any thing. Suddenly, the form passed over again and this time instead of disappearing, the shadow became a blue blur that passed right over their heads.

If they stopped, the bird would wheel around and screech, before divebombing right for the Kakuna.

If they kept moving forward, the bird would do the same thing, but attack the Kakuna from behind.

Evolve to Beedrill, Fury Attack over Harden, self update

"I am not food! There's no way you can fight all of us anyways!" Luigi shouted back, and smacked back at the flying Pokemon with his words. The navy and passionfruit colored feathery monster sighed, and stood on the ground as its energy was suddenly exhausted. It saw behind him, a Chimecho, a Butterfree, a Cottonee in the back, a Chikorita, and lastly, a Kakuna. Well, that was actually everybody. It was difficult to see clearly in this drowning hail.

"Okay, you're right, but why are you guys here? Most Pokemon don't mingle with other species." The bird chirped curiously, cocking its head to the side.

"Our human had disappeared when we got to this Mossy Rock, and we're inquiring other Pokemon about it, do you know anything?" The Chimecho chimed in.

"NO! But strange things happen in this forest every day or every week or every other day. I wouldn't think too hard about it! I am sure your human will be back soon!" The avian chirped happily and in an assuring tone.

"Oh, and we're just here to join their human for their adventure, when they return!" The Butterfree buzzed.

Suddenly, the Kakuna glowed bright and evolved into a Beedrill. The bug examined its new form with glee. "Wooah!"

As if on cue, Penelope had returned in another strange glow of light that outshone the Kakuna and other Pokemon's evolution. Penelope was shocked, seeing her own Pokemon evolved along with some more new friends. Not to mention, she brought along her new friends from the strange island too, namely a Horsea and a Chinchou! Well, she can't possibly return all of these Pokemon into her Pokeball now with how... technology works! She happily greeted all of her Pokemon, the Chikorita, Chimecho, and Breloom, and then met with her newer Pokemon. There's some quick catch up to do before leaving this Ilex Forest!

After speaking with the strange man about headbutting things, Silas passed by a very large, odd, mossy rock. A rock that honestly held next to no interest to him. Determined to just get out of this forest, he kept walking, not pausing to inspect closer or look around. The exit had to be somewhere. According to this map he was pretty close...right?

Just had to get through this are and the evergreen range and then he would be free!

So onwards! Onwards to freedom and the big city that he craved like a good, cold drink and a hot bath.

"That's the big rock!" Tommy exclaimed. 

At some point, he seemed to have figured out whatever it was that had been plaguing his mind and was acting fairly boyishly. Like his spirits were high. It was nice to see him smiling and running about like a kid, even if he probably would lose sleep due to that evil spirit for a while.

Adrian watched Tommy throw himself at the rock and clamber up the side, "I'm king of the mountain! W-woah!" The mossy rock, as to be expected, slippery. Tommy pitched forwards and Adrian lunged and caught the boy before he fell. Heimdal woofed in dissaproval of his antics. "Sorry!"

"Careful, bud. We're almost back to Goldenrod. I think."

"We are. I saw that rock when I passed this way before," Tommy was a little sullen again. 

"C'mon, you gotta be ready to go home. Today was...a lot."

Tommy shrugged, "I guess."

"...Wanna talk about it?"

"No." Tommy patted his front pocket where Byte's ball now rested. "I think...I figured it out."

He didn't elaborate, quiet falling between them as they moved closer to the exit gate.
