Here comes Shinya, straight from the Conifer CrestWith the sunlight slowly but surely fading from the land of Johto once more, and his speed increasing little by little, Shinya began to see the bright lights of Goldenrod City through the trees. A new grin appearing on his face, Shinya was more eager than ever to reach the big city and continue his adventure. Thanks to some helpful tips provided by his venomous friend, Venom, Shinya knew exactly where he was headed first upon reaching said city. Not only that, but he had quite a decent list of things he wanted to do in Goldenrod City before moving on. Of course, this wasn't technically his first time in Goldenrod City, having past it many times on his way to the Bug Catching Contests. But now, he'd finally have the freedom to explore the city, jumping over the Moss Rock like a springboard and continuing to head south from there. OOC: Shinya books it to the Evergreen Range from here.

With her companion now settled with her husband, Freya was alone again. With her trusty companion, she headed towards Goldenrod with her chin high and her eyes bright, the wind tugging at her hair. She urged Arcanine to run a little faster. They were so close. She could see the glow of the city in the distance, hear the bustle of the city.
Now was not the time to slow down.
They sped around a large, unusual rock and plunged closer to the forest's edge with every leap and bound. — Word Count; 000 | OOC:Coming from Conifer Crest Going to Evergreen Range..

That giant mossy rock right there? That was a sign that he was close to getting out of here. He just needed to keep walking. The storm seemed thinner now. The sandy whorls weaker, the air more damp. Maybe it was raining in Goldenrod? He was getting close. He just had to keep walking and walking and walking.
With the end in sight, he started to power walk, hurrying along even faster than before. Not quite a sprint, but motivated!

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
The forest teemed with life around the giant granite slab whose usual greyish features were overridden with thick lichens and moss adorning nearly every inch. There were mysteries that surrounded the large natural stone, with promises of aiding some Pokémon along their evolutionary journeys by unlocking new forms. He thought about the tales he’d heard of a few trainers trading amongst each other in Azalea when they were practicing daring the other to race into the forested landscape in a headlong hunt for Moss Rock.
Was there an ounce of truth to their stories? A small blue bird similar in shape and design to Tako before he managed to evolve landed on top of the large granite slab. Its beady eyes searched around the area with a quick tilt of its head and flap of its wings. Zaiden watched the small Taillow stretch its wings wide at its side with a loud trill, before taking off into the air and landing on the ground in a bundle of tall buckwheat. It stabbed its sharp beak several times at the earth, then kicked wildly with its sharp talons.
A small fuchsia hued caterpillar shrieked as it quickly crawled out from the densely packed forest. Long, sticky string flung from the tip of its lips and coated the wild bird, grounding Taillow temporarily. It screeched and batted its wings wildly, whilst tearing its way through the sticky globs in a quick chase. Though the small red caterpillar did its best to try and scute out of danger, scuttling up the side of a large pine tree in its haste to get away, Taillow caught up with ease.
The bird plucked it freely from the tree’s rugged bark and swallowed it in one gulp. Taillow then sped off through the rest of the forest, easily disappearing out of sight as easily as it had once made its presence known. Moyashi clapped her serrated leaves together as she cheered on the fellow bug-catcher. That was a fine maneuver through the forest, easily thwarting his meal’s best efforts to slow the avian down before gobbling the wild bug up just as easily. “Now, that’s what it means to be a bug catcher!” Moyashi jested, her eyes twinkling with admiration.
Gena shivered, casting a doubtful glance at her companion. Moyashi wasn’t all there… couldn’t. be. Or she truly was a heartless companion who cared only for herself. The small spider stared at the other Pokémon almost pitifully, pressing herself against Zaiden’s neck ever more so to ensure her own safety. “We’re almost out of the forest, Gena.” Zaiden promised, reaching his hand up to gentle and barely stroke his arachnid friend with a single fingertip. He was careful, given Gena’s diminutive size and more delicate frame, not to apply too much pressure with his movements.
“I’m not worried about the forest.” Gena chimed in, her eyes studying the way Moyashi stalked after their trainer. There was a sense of eagerness with her steps. A quiet hurry seemingly promising a futuristic reward that caused Gena’s exoskeleton to crawl with a sudden sense of dread. “I’m worried about what’s following us out of the forest.” She added with a doleful hum. Would this day get better if Zaiden didn’t remove one of them from the team?
At least, Gena was reasonably sure that he wouldn’t let Moyashi hurt her, no matter what Moyashi hoped to do. The way that evil bird just went up and gobbled the poor fellow bug up burned in the back of Gena’s mind as warning. This forest was a wild, nearly untamed beast. She was lucky she worked alongside her trainer, who managed to always keep her safe. What would happen if they were separated? It was a thought that scared Gena and made her hope she never have to find out.
