A diverse network of lower-level vegetation is able to propagate around the large trunks of the surrounding trees. Travelers may notice wild sedge species such as the Black Bogrush and hairawn muhly, or tall grasses like the Poverty Dropseed and pineywoods dropseed. A host of Pokemon call this place home, including a diverse collection of bugs, some birds, and even bats.

Special: Witch's Potion An old witch can be found in Twilight Glade. She requires certain berries in order to complete her potion but the berries must be sourced from Berry Haven, a hidden region of Ilex Forest known only to a few people. The witch's riddle:Where light breaks through the canopy, The berries are in stock, In a secluded corner of the woods, South-west of a mossy rock,
No map will reveal its location, No finger will point the way,
But if one passes as straight as an arrow, Between two neighbouring trees, Berry Haven will emerge from the mist. The berries she needs are different for each person. Only by reaching Berry Haven will you know which berries are required for her magical potion. Bring back the berries to her and she will vanish, leaving behind a flock of dark scavengers. Incoming from Putrid Swamp
It took a fair few minutes of walking to escape the stench of the swamp, and the forest had gone dark with the sheer number of trees again. Saphira, with her tail flame, was the only beacon in the overwhelming gloom. Starscream walked beside his trainer, not willing to repeat what happened on the way to the swamp. They walked for a while longer until a greenish light appeared in the distance. Light mist swirled through it, creating a mysterious atmosphere.
Hesitation trickled through her. There was no telling what waited for her, like some nasty ghosts or mutated Pokemon... well, that was if she didn't go take a look. Steeling herself, Tanya confidently strode forwards and into the perpetual greenish, misty light. The clearing that expanded before her was beautiful in an eerie way. The noises made by the creatures inhabiting the glade were muted and seemed far off.
Saphira stepped away from Tanya, wandering around curiously. She turned her head and spotted the shadowy figure of a person not far away from them. The Charmeleon rasped at her trainer, pointing at this unknown human. "Well, whaddya know. I didn't think I'd find another person wandering this far into the forest," Tanya muttered, mostly to herself.
The girl shrugged. It wouldn't hurt to go see who this person was. She walked forwards, moving closer and closer to this mist-cloaked stranger with barely a trace of fear. "Excuse me?" Tanya called out, hoping to gain this person's attention.

The old woman that had been in the forest along with Tanya was settled by some kind of cauldron, and it seemed like her eyes were closed, even if Tanya didn’t know that by looking at her from a far away view. She held an oddly shaped, long wooden spoon in her hand, and the moment Tanya spoke, she reacted…well, pretty badly. “KYAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!” She turned, the spoon in her hand almost being whacked over the red-head’s shoulder, but just before she landed the hit, the old woman pulled the spoon back. She…well, she still didn’t seem happy to see Tanya, but she didn’t seem interested in harming her. “A child this far out in the woods, eh?” she cackled darkly, almost to herself. It was actually quite hard to tell if she was talking to Tanya or not, but the second time she spoke, it was clearer she was now indeed speaking to the girl. “Oh, since you are here child, I require some…help. You see, I must finish a potion I’ve been working on, but I cannot do it without some special berries…I am much too old to move that far, but here is something that may help you find the Berry Haven.” She paused, sucking in a breath. “Hwuah! : Where light breaks through the canopy, The berries are in stock, In a secluded corner of the woods, South-west of a mossy rock,
No map will reveal its location, No finger will point the way,
But if one passes as straight as an arrow, Between two nieghbouring trees, Berry Haven will emerge from the mist.” She turned suddenly, now forgetting her chat with the girl. “I’ll be waiting here.” Was all she said. It was…nothing less than eerie, really. __________________________________________________ Warning! The woman's reaction had Tanya lifting her hands in a gesture that meant to say 'I mean no harm!' Her green eyes widened, clearly surprised by nearly getting whacked by the wooden spoon. She wasn't that scary... was she? Maybe it was Starscream, who usually unnerved nearly everyone who met him with his hostile demeanor and cutting looks. Tanya puffed out her cheeks at being labeled as a child, but held her tongue until the woman finished speaking.
So, more trekking through this forest? Great. "While your little enigma is ridiculously vague at best, I'll give it a shot. Not like I have anything better to do than wander around," Tanya replied, the last part mostly for herself. She turned around and looked at Starscream, who was busy stalking around, as if looking for potential threats.
"Hey amigo, as much as you'll hate this, take a break for a while," the girl called out to him, returning him to his ball before the bird could protest. He'd been out flying for a fairly long time, and with Saphira at her side, surely they couldn't get too lost. Nodding to the Charmeleon, the pair hurriedly exited the glade to begin this new quest.

Incoming from Putrid Swamp
Finally, back where they needed to be! The odd lighting and mist of the glade were a welcome sight for sore eyes. A tired smile broke free on Tanya's face as she hurried into the glade, spotting the woman where she had been located the last time. "I got you your berries, lady. It was a lot of trouble to get to them, and as thanks for not being specific enough, I grabbed some random ones for you."
Saphira sat down on a fallen log and sighed gratefully, happy to rest her aching feet. Tanya finished handing over the berries and joined her, removing her boots and massaging her own feet with a blissful sigh of her own. "If you have any rewards, I'd love something to take the pain out of my feet," Tanya said with a laugh.
There was some part of her that hoped the old woman did have something to reward her with, other than "thanks for helping this old witch with her potion because she's too old to make the long journey herself" spiel. Not money or items, but at least something to make up for that long, tiring trek they'd made through the forest.

The Old Woman's eyes snapped open with force as soon as Tanya entered the area. She turned her head and with a flash, something black flew around Tanya before landing on the woman's shoulder. She emitted a cackle and grabbed a few of the berries, crushing them into a pulp, which was dropped into a boiling cauldron. A dark purple and orange smoke emitted from the pot, and as soon as the smoke turned black, The woman grabbed up the pot. I'm afraid I can't give you any of this! Hehehe... However! I can leave you with a... parting gift...The woman smiled. She poured the black liquid into a vial, and then slammed the vial down onto the ground, where it exploded. The black smoke started to billow around the Glade, while the witch just merely laughed. Kekekeh! I leave you my pretties! Have fun!She howled. Then, the woman disappeared into a black flock of Murkrow, which started to fly around the Glade. They weren't there before, but it was quite possible one was going to battle her. In fact, one curious Murkrow hopped up, cawing at Tanya. Curious Murkrow has wandered into battle territory! Lv. 14 Murkrow zapdoszulu.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=wild&thread=7067

Leaving blank for Tyger. --
Caladrius watched Tanya patiently as the girl knelt down to retrieve the ball, smiling at it. She placed it into her bag and straightened up, running a hand through her air and sighing lightly. The caws of the lurking Murkrow were the only sounds in the glade, other than Tanya and her partners. "See Caladrius? Battles aren't too bad," she spoke to the gunshy Blitzle. The man who'd let her buy him had warned her about his tendency to lock up in nervous fright if he felt he was performing badly.
"There's nothing to worry about if you have a trainer by your side." Tanya sat down on the log again and stretched out, stifling a yawn. Without the witch around, the glade seemed even more desolate than before. Saphira wandered over and jumped over the log to talk with Caladrius as Tanya rested her legs.
She still wanted to stick around and see if she could capture anything else, and do some training at the same time. Moka stirred on her shoulder, making a chittering noise before flaring her wings, soaring off of her trainer and circling the trees above, finding a nice perch on a branch and swinging upside down. The Zubat didn't resume napping, though; she was quietly scouting the area out with echolocation, aiming to detect any intrusions to alert her trainer and prevent a possible ambush.

The cawing of the Murkrow were loud in the glade, and despite it's eerie quality, it seemed to be a nice somewhat song. If you were as demented as the old lady that disappeared in the dark blaze of smoke... Tanya was still choosing to stay, despite how much darker the Glade had gotten. It was hard to tell if it was daylight or nighttime at the moment, especially with the dark feathered birds flying around. Tanya had already caught one, so it probably made the flock mad. The Blitzle noticed it first, but something with wings suddenly decended towards the trainer... However, it wasn't an angry dark bird, but in fact a Zubat. It let out a little screech and started to fly about the glade, waiting to see if it had caught Tanya's attention. The bat clammed it's mouth open and shut to create a few clicks with it's teeth, in an attempt to intimidate everything around it. Even though it was a Zubat, it at least had a few things going for it. The dark forest provided a great place to stalk prey, and with the addition to the Murkrow. the glade had become a very dark and somewhat desolate place. Zubat knew it was the perfect opportunity to prey on the less fortunate and try to gain stronger. Wild Zubat is attacking! Level 15! Fight!

(Dropping Supersonic for Confuse Ray, and Moka gains +3 happiness because she was caught in a Luxury Ball)
Moka's last minute maneuver was a life-saver, as neither she or Tanya had thought about her injured wing being like a beacon to her blind foe. Blood was what drew them, but Tanya wasn't quite sure Zubat or its evolutionary kin would stoop to something close to cannibalism. Any worries she had were unfounded, however, as Moka's aerial tricks allowed her to sweep in a victory, her opponent dropping like a rock.
The Zubat winged her way down to Tanya, offering a tired screech as she hovered in front of the girl's heat signature. "Aye, you did well amiga. Let's rest that wing of yours though," Tanya said, recalling Moka before she dropped from exhaustion. Caladrius trotted over, nudging Tanya's elbow and looking excited. Watching Moka's battle had invigorated him somewhat, and he wanted to fight now too.
Laughing, the girl patted her Blitzle's head. "I wanna stick around and see if any of these Murkrow feel brave enough anyways. But if whatever decides to come at us next can shrug off anything you throw at it, you're staying on the sidelines regardless of your enthusiasm, got it?" she told him, earning a light snort in response. Blowing a tuft of auburn hair from her face, Tanya sat back down on the log, wondering how long they'd been walking in this endless forest.

Tanya's stay in this twilight region of the forest was going to have to be drawn out just a little longer. With the loud screeches and ferocious battling of the two Zubat before, it had meant that a lot of the forest wildlife had been begrudgingly disturbed as if their disgruntled movements and communications weren't obvious enough. Despite having moved on a little with her company, the fiery red haired trainer's actions in the last battle had far reaching consequences. Having comfortably situated herself on a log, it was perhaps an unwise decision especially after gaining the foresight that the log was nestled at the bottom of a Beedrill's nest. The Beedrill themselves were impossible to have noticed as they were out in the depths of the forest looking for suitable prey to sustain themselves with. Instead, the one thing or perhaps more accurately the immense number of life form that was left behind was that of the larvae of the Beedrill species. Encased in an almost kevlar like protected coating, these cocooned bugs were patiently biding their time until they could realise their true potential, no matter how insignificant it may have been in the grand scheme of things. Many would be forgiven for mistaking they were defenceless creatures. While they may not have had the mobility of a Sneasel or the destructive fire power of a Rhyperior, to say these silent creatures had no way of defending themselves would be an injustice. Having been disturbed from its metamorphosis, a single Kakuna of the group began to twitch from its silk bedding and saw the sheer audacity of the trainer. Not only had she been responsible for stirring up the majority of the forest but she had gone as far as to sit under the tree as if the rest of it and its kin were non-existent! Tumbling from side to side, it eventually broke free of its silk bindings and without further ado, plummeted from the safety of its nest to the top of Tanya's head. Barely balancing, the Pokemon let out an almost inaudible hiss as it readied itself to deliver a piece of its mind. Encounter

The super-effective strike was more than adequate to take down the Kakuna and silence it from drawing back its Beedrill colony. Aster stepped back towards his trainer, who was watching the Kakuna being carried away by a plucky Zubat. The Gallade extended one arm and jabbed it upwards, motioning towards the hive nestled cozily in a tree that looked down on her log. "Aye... best to find another spot before we get swarmed."
Grabbing her bag, she and Aster moved deeper into the glade, finding a safe place to rest on a mossy stump a good distance from the hive tree. Caladrius and Saphira reappeared, looking disgruntled. There was a yellow, sticky substance on one of Saphira's paws, likely honey, that dripped slowly onto the ground. "Some big nasty Pokémon drive you off?" Tanya guessed.
Saphira pouted and nodded, sitting next to her trainer and crossing her arms. Caladrius settled down on his legs, tired from the running they'd done to escape their antagonist. Aster kept a silent watch from the trees nearby, not daring to let his mind wander and let danger sneak up on his trainer.

As Tanya travelled deeper into the Twilight Glade, her hope for more Murkrow was perhaps becoming more of a reality. The dark birds were circling around the dark wilderness, many perching at the tops of the highest trees where one could not possibly climb to, cooing gently as they pecked at their feathered wings. Although a small flock was overhead, none of them were interested in battling the auburn haired trainer, infact none of them were interested in battling at all. She had already captured one of their flock, why would she possibly want more? If she battled some more maybe another one or two would swoop down to put her battle hungry team in their place but for now they were sticking put, hiding in the shadows of branches.
However, whilst Murkrow were creatures of the dark, the complete opposite was slowly coming into Tanya's view. Through the fog of darkness, a bright yellow glow had begun to float through the air, a shape of some type of buggy firefly coming into view. The creature was known as Volbeat, an all male species and was uncommon in these parts. This one seemed to be wearing an incredibly puzzled expression, looking around from left to right, a hand resting on the base of his chin. But then, the bug smelt something sweet, an aroma that reminded him of his beloved Illumise. Really, it was the left over scent on Saphira's claws but he was one hundred percent sure that it was his Illumise!
Fluttering quickly through the air, the smell lead him right to Tanya and as his female counterpart wasn't anywhere in sight, it could only mean that this trainer had captured her! Growling deeply, the Volbeat demanded a battle!

Volbeat Name: Lumen Gender: Male Level: 12 Attacks: Tackle, Double Team, Confuse Ray Ability: Illuminate Nature: Quirky Personality: Knowing that he will be unable to be with his Illumise, Lumen is one of the most depressing Pokémon ever. Or most irritating, if looking from a female's point of view. When not moping over his lost love, Lumen flirts madly with Tanya's female partners, hoping to replace the hole in his heart. This often ends badly in a variety of ways, depending on the recipient of his affections. --
With the capture a success, Tanya reached for Moka's ball when the bat uttered an odd screech. Startled, Tanya looked at Moka and was stunned when a white glow surrounded her small body. Well jeez, she hadn't expected the Zubat to evolve already... had she become so strong in such a short period of time since they'd met? The girl watched, transfixed, as the Zubat morphed into something entirely new.
"You evolved girl! That's my Moka!" Tanya exclaimed, smiling widely at the Golbat that hovered effortlessly in the air. The big bat smiled, or so it seemed, and was recalled to her ball. The exuberance she felt over Moka's evolution fading, Tanya walked over to the motionless device containing the plucky Volbeat. She blew out a short sigh and stashed it in her bag, turning round to see Saphira cleaning her claws thoroughly of any leftover honey and Aster with his back to her, still keeping a silent watch. Knowing he was on the lookout reassured her, but she was damn ready to leave.
Putting her hands on her hips, her good mood evaporating, Tanya glared into the trees where the Murkrow surely had clustered, mocking her. "Oi you feather-brained gits! None of you have the balls to face me huh? Come down here and prove me wrong then!" she called up, sneering. Saphira stared at her trainer in shock; Tanya was never like this, even when at her angriest. Even Aster was slightly alarmed by his trainer's sudden shift of mood, turning halfway around and fixing one ruby eye on her.
Shaking her hair, she crossed her arms and waited for something to happen. When nothing did, her emerald eyes went dark with unchecked rage. "Miserable birds. You want to live a life that depends upon whether or not you can find carrion or rare humans to pick food from? Or would you rather live with a trainer and be fed on a daily basis? And no worrying about the weather either. But noooo, y'all just want to be cowards and hide from a simple girl." Finishing her rant, Tanya continued glaring into the tree-tops, daring one of the dark scavengers to soar down and refute her words.
