Incoming from Eerie Wood
When light began to show through the trees again, it spurred Tanya to move quicker and hurry out of the pine-scented tunnel-like path. The trees had been packed so tight Starscream had become entangled in a couple and had fallen behind, Tanya oblivious to his plight. She took a deep breath of relief and immediately wished she hadn't; a most foul odour invaded her nose and made her double over, one hand pressed to her stomach, the other pinching her nose. Saphira yelped and covered her snout with both paws, eyes swimming with tears.
Only Moka seemed unaffected by the smell, her head turning at the disgusted noises Tanya was making. She was shunted forwards by Starscream stumbling into her, and to her surprise, her boots sank into squishy, moist mud. The bird had staggered due to the smell as well, but lacking proper limbs he was unable to cover his nose. The raptor took flight quickly, soaring above the swamp and trying to clear his senses. Truly the smell was overpowering.
"Pwaah! Let's get od of here," Tanya managed to shout, her nose still pinched shut. The girl skirted the swamp as best she could, muttering choice curses as she stepped into yet more mud or stumbled over a hidden root or rock. Saphira was ahead of her, dashing along a moss covered log and avoiding the worst of the muck, disappearing into the trees with Tanya in hot pursuit.

Incoming from Eerie Wood
Luckily, this time Tanya had remembered about the disgusting swamp and had plugged her nose before reaching the opening in the trees. Saphira managed to do the same, albeit more awkwardly as she balance her last few berries in her other paw. The duo skirted the worst of the swamp, muttering curses if a foot sank into the stinky mud. It took a few minutes to recall their previous path, and upon doing so, hightailed it out of the wretched area.

<<If you think I'm stepping foot in that disgusting water, you've got an entirely different thing coming.>> Spirit growled as he stopped by the water's edge. When it took Sandy more than a minute to respond, Spirit looked back to see if she was still even there, despite the fact that he felt her weight on his back.
"Gyahh...this smell is gross! Why in Ho-oh's name did I think we had to pass through here!?" Sandy questioned as she stoppe holding her nose for a moment in order to speak. It was truly, probably one of the worst places she had ever gone through.
"Do you think this smell will stick to my clothes? I sure hope not. I wonder what kind of Pokemon even live here." She commented before covering her nose again. Spirit rolled his eyes and pointed out a log with his nose. Before Sandy could unccover her nose to speak again, Spirit trotted over to it and moved slowly across it until they got through the other side.
"I wonder how much longer it is until we get through here." Sandy mentioned, this time not wanting to stop. Spirit snorted, but didn't answer her. It'd be a while before they could pass through completley.
-Passing through, need an encounter-

As Sandy and Spirit ventured carefully through the disgusting swamp, the flames from the horse's body illuminated the way, helping the two traverse the area more easily. Unfortunately, the light was a foreign thing in this dark, dank part of the woods, and the wild Pokemon took notice of it. Some were fearful of the light, others crept closer, their curiosity perked. It was fine, so long as the curious animals did not attack.
Unfortunately, one creature that approached noticed not the flames, but the sick Pokemon in tow. A Duskull rose out of the nasty goo, floating quietly behind the party. Its sole red eye glowed and eerie red, shifting back and forth between eye sockets. The stench of illness from the Chikorita attracted the ghost, luring it closer and closer. Finally, hunger overruled stealth, and the Duskull swooped forward, ghostly arms spread as it lunged for the leafy Pokemon with a shriek.
A hungry Duskull (level 17) is attacking! Battle shall commence here.

She bit her tongue in order to avoid screaming, and curled into a ball, not able to stare the Duskull directly in the eye. Though she waited, nothing happened to her, and a moment later, a flash of flames and a set of wails indicated that she should probably look up.
Spirit was staring into the swamp as a single arm waved out and then bubbled under the nasty water, leaving a still body of murky water in its wake. He snorted and turned back to Sandy, expectantly. Sandy understood right away and climbed onto his back, holding onto his reins tightly. Spirit reared up and then took off, careful of the thick mud puddles as he ran. Sandy looked down at the sick Pokemon she was carrying. It was getting worse, but she could feel it, she was closer to the solution as Spirit thundered into the next neck of the woods.

Coming from the Eerie Wood.As Marchbaby and Kamikaze laid eyes on the next area they discovered it was a putrid smelling swamp. The pair could only imagine what horrid things might be lying in wait here as the usual evil fog seemed to be missing in the area instead replaced by the evil looking swamp which did not seem to have any crossing point except to walk straight through it. As Marchbaby tried to walk in the swamp however the liquid mess burned to the touch as if it was filled with toxic chemicals. He had the feeling in his gut that an evil spirit was at work here as well as no naturally occurring swamp should smell this bad. He even watched as Grimers off in the distance avoided going into it which seemed to confirm his suspicion as usually they loved stinky places. He did not want to even try to interact with the Grimers for now however as he was on a quest to rescue Chikorita and the spirit of the forest and he was going to do just that no matter what evil tricks any of the spirits may try to pull on him to stop his progress. As the pair tried to think of a way to cross the swamp they both came up with nothing as none of the trees in the area were tall enough to be able to jump across the swamp and going through the swamp in it's current state was not an option as it burned to the touch. As his trick of calling out evil spirits had worked out so well in the past Marchbaby decided that if nothing else it might get the attention of someone or something to help him out but if he was lucky he would encounter another of the evil spirits so Kamikaze could put them out to pasture like she had the first two evil spirits. " Alright you cheeky bastards it is time to come out and show yourselves. I know at least one of you evil spirits is trying to block my path to ruin your evil plans and I will not stand for it. Kamikaze here will tear you to shreds just like she did your two friends for what you evil bastards have done to this beautiful forest."As the young man yelled out into the forest Kamikaze kept a close watch just hoping that something would appear so she would be able to tear it to bits. She had taken a liking to slicing ghost types to shreds with her claws and she had no objections to doing it again as even she felt they deserved what was coming to them.
Staying to fight the evil Duskull as part of the quest.

Unable to actually progress into the swamp like area, Marchbaby was left stranded on the spot, as a single wrong placement of his foot could easily spell disaster for him. Luckily, he was much smarter than that and after a moment of looking around for safer ground, was unable to find any, which resulted in him going back to his shouting tactic to draw the ghouls out. The area itself was indeed known as the Putrid Swamp, home to a couple of poison types and nothing more, as life struggled to survive in even the more normal conditions. It was a portion of the forest that was rarely tread by humans, so to most who thought it stunk foul, it only meant that those able to live there were allowed a quiet life. All until the demonic entity had gathered enough power to take the place over. The swamp itself becoming inhabitable for even Pokemon such as Grimer, groups of Stunky could also be seen, sprawled across the marsh like grounds with zero signs of energy, breathing looking like a chore in itself.
Slowly, the air around Marchbaby grew denser and with it, came a familiar purple haze that oozed from the rotting trees and sludge that covered the ground. Something was amiss and considering his previous two encounters, it was likely becoming a familiar feeling. Something was watching him and it was growing ever closer. It had managed to gain complete control of the swamp, virtually feeding off the despair of the local Pokemon who had since been rendered useless under it's power. The presence of Marchbaby did little to scare the ghoul. With just a little more time, the guardian of the forest would be overpowered completely and with it, the entire forest would turn into a delicious, pain filled swamp. Materialising between the trees, a second Duskull formed itself before Marchbaby, it's eerie red eye glaring at him from behind it's skull.
The Wandering Spirit of Duskull (Level 17) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon to use in battle. The battle will continue here.

With the Duskull defeated the swamp seemed to become somewhat purified as it at least no longer burned to the touch although it was still not a very nice smelling area Marchbaby and Kamikaze could at least cross it now and get onwards to the next area. Marchbaby was pretty happy when he finally reached the other side of the swamp as his plan of defeating the evil spirit seemed to work. Now he just had to figure out where he had to go next when he noticed a small dirt path leading away from the swamp to who knows where. Desperate to save the Chikorita and the forest guardian Marchbaby had no choice but to follow the path and hope for the best. Moving on to Sombre ValleyOoc: SOrry this one was a bit short compared to most of my posts but at least I can move onto the next area as I have a bit more in my mind as to what I can come up with.

Returning from the Sombre ValleyAs Marchbaby and Kamikaze approached the swamp on their return to the forest shrine they were nearly overcome but the horrible stench. It was pretty obvious as to why stinky Pokemon liked the swamp so much. The stench would make any foul smelling Pokemon feel right at home while gagging almost anything else that would dare set foot in the area. Marchbaby and Kamikaze hated the swamp and they both wanted to make a quick exit so their sinuses would not shrivel up and die as a result of the putrid smelling swamp. It was only because it was the fastest route back to the shrine that the pair had taken the path back through the swamp as if they could have taken any other path they would have just to avoid the swamp. The swamp did not seem as heavy as it did the first time the pair entered the area. The banishment of the evil spirit that had been lurking there helped a bunch but both Kamikaze and Marchbaby knew the only way they could truly save both the swamp and the rest of the forest was to banish the remaining spirits who still lingered in the forest desperate to try and stop the pair from completing their quest. Despite the spirits being a bit of a speed bump none of the spirits had even remotely proven to have been a major hinderance to Kamikaze or Marchbaby so far and with how desperate the spirits were getting to be the pair was not even beginning to get worried and if anything saw the spirits resistance as a pitiful and desperate display of evil. As the pair slowly walked through the swamp they held their noses trying to stay focused on the task at hand. They both knew that once they managed to navigate the swamp they would be pretty close to the shrine they had passed a while back. They could not follow their original path back however as the spirits had placed barriers to try to stop the pair. They did notice a small path leading to the Twilight Glade which if the map he saw in the visitor center was correct would lead the pair to the forest shrine so they could finally stop the evil spirits plans. Not knowing what may lie ahead the pair slowly waled down the path hoping no spirits would attack them. Going to the Twilight Glade

-coming from Eerie Wood-After walking for another short while, Alex found himself in another area of the rest, where the fog began to build up again. However, the ground also felt extra muddy and watery... He hoped his shoes didn't soak through this. This area also have a very pungent smell.... The smell was slightly uncomfortable, like rotting trees and dying corpse or something. As much as he would like to leave, the thickening fog meant that there was a ghost nearby, and he would have to bust the ghost before he could continue further. He walked a bit slower this time, instead of staying still, because the smell would be unbearable if he stayed longer. However, in couple of steps, he could see the fog being thickened, perhaps this part of the forest was cursed too. -le waits again-

This particular part of Ilex didn't have much going for it, if travelers were being completely and totally honest. The smell was awful, and with each step travelers shoes seemed to sink a bit into the rotten leaves and muck at the bottom of the forest floor. Something must've happened here to spoil this part of the woods to the point even the wild Pokemon couldn't handle the swamp. Grimer and Stunky were off on the edges of the swamp, staying away from what appeared to be cursed. The fog was strong here, much stronger than Gastly and Duskull's part of the forest. It wouldn't take much time for this fog to reach it's peak before spreading through the rest of the forest, turning it into the murky, awful swamp. Through the thick fog, a single eye glowed as it grew closer and closer to the wandering trainer. The first Duskull had been a bit more timid with it's attacking, laid back perhaps. However, this Duskull was downright ruthless and aggressive as it apparated in front of Alex and Chikorita. The red eye narrowed in glee as it watched Chikorita twitch, and it seemed as though Duskull wasn't going to leave Alex and Chikorita's side unless attacked. The longer Duskull hung around Chikorita, the weaker it got. Perhaps it was draining Chikorita's energy, as it was with the forest? As much of an obnoxious presence Duskull was, it needed to be stopped. The fog was strong here, so they couldn't be far. Wandering Duskull Attacks! (Level 17) Engage in battle here!

With the Duskull gone, and the area lifted of the cursed fog, Alex could see the forest with a bit of better clarity now. If the area wasn't dark, he would definitely see better. Quickly walking after the battle, and still holding the sickly Chikorita on his hand, his Pokemon got the body language and began moving as well. The stench here was likely to make everyone leave this place as soon as possible. The Cacnea sat on the Ariados, while the Lombre and the Ariados continued at about the same pace that Alex was. The smell was unbearable for how long he had been in this stinky part of the forest, but now he still needed to find this so called valley in the middle of this forest. He just had no idea where this valley was supposed to be at! Looking down on his feet and keeping an eye on the Chikorita, the young trainer continued to carefully trek this forest again, hoping that he would reach this valley place with a tag that could help the poor Chikorita. -going to Twilight Glade-

-coming from Eerie Wood-After walking for a while, he finally found himself on yet another familiar place, a smelly, swampy area. Eww. Thankfully, he had a hand to cover his nose and mouth this time. After he had walked a bit far from the center of this smelly mess, his Dustox and Beautifly coordinated in the air. One was facing one way, the other was facing the other way. Perhaps they were communicating that there's actually two path here. Alex looked at both directions, trying to see if his memory would be helpful to remember which way he went earlier. After a several seconds of deliberation, he finally remembered which one he took earlier, and headed the other way, as well as thanking his Pokemon for having better eyesight than him. -going to Sombre Valley-
