Coming from Moss Rock...
At was at this point that Aphrodite could start to hear the hustle and bustle of Goldenrod City, her warm golden eyes lit up with excitement as she put a little extra pep in her step. She could not believe that she has almost made it out of the office and to the next city, where she would hope to find some fairy-types to add to her collect as well as taken the next gym leader to earn her third badge.
Next stop Forest Exit...

Evergreen Range was a beautiful part of the forest that seemed as though time stood still. The snow and ice of the oncoming winter clung in the air, bringing a strong chill that snaked through the landscape. Many of the trees in the other parts of Ilex were already beginning to change their hues with vibrant oranges, reds, and yellows, before their leaves would dramatically brown and break away from their limbs to flutter to the forest floor below. Here, the range was a bright and vibrantly green as though it were perpetually summer all year long. Shaggy blue spruces shot up from the grassy green ground, enshrouded on their sides by large redcedars whose prickly shaped leaves jutted out in all directions. Hemlocks would fight alongside firs for their own piece of real estate throughout the range.
Mishu stared in quiet amazement at the way nature transformed before her very eyes. She’d witnessed so much through her time traveling around Ilex, managing to both chase away evil spirits and struggle to keep herself from getting too lost throughout its vast expanses. It wasn’t hard to see how people – especially in the past, with very limited navigational guides – might have found themselves stranded throughout its reaches. Here, the world around her transformed and changed at nearly every turn. From open meadows to hilly ledges that nearly dropped off several feet below, to long stretches of natural forest and vast stretches of swampy marshes, everything was as different and unique as the last. It was a wonder that it all managed to fight and retain it share of dominance throughout Ilex properly.
“Look.” She paused and leaned against a freshly fallen tree to point towards some of the bugs nestled in the trees in the distance. Shy creatures scurried along the rough barks, barely noticeable amongst all the green that shielded and camouflaged them from the naked eye. “Perhaps…some caterpillars…and a spider?” She guessed from the webwork that stretched in the open air between the branches. There had been a report a couple months back of strange deer not usually native to the area running in large herds within the range. Mishu quietly questioned if she might have the chance to spot such a mystery for herself, before she’d have to push off to Goldenrod altogether.

Indeed there were traces of a herd, but one had to wonder if they remained. The evidence of their presence was old and concealed with leaf litter. It would be remarkable to find a straggler so long after the sightings, but it didn't seem meant to be. At least, not right away. Mishu might have to look around a little harder to discover the mysterious stantler, though whether or not she would find them this far into the forest was uncertain. What was certain was the presence of caterpillars. One inched along the forest floor before reaching Mishu's shoe and inching up her leg. Wiggle, wiggle. Scuttle. It nibbled on her pant leg, as if trying to determine what this funny tree tasted like. Then continued its great adventure north. Would it find food at the top of this odd tree? It was awful warm. Oh. Wait. It was moving. <You're not a tree!> it squeaked in surprise. <Awe. I wanted to find a new snack.>

Small charcoal eyes glimmered underneath the long shadows that crept through the foliage in the canopy above. They swam inside of large black scopes on the top of Wanigara’s head and widened in alarm. Lips flickered, like the flame of a candle whose been placed underneath a speedy ceiling fan, flickering in and out of possible choices of existence. Then curved downward in the steady trend of a failing market on the scaley crocodilian mouth as Wanigara’s face drooped, watching his newfound acquaintance fall from the tree to the forest floor below.
He stared at his sharp claws in horror before casting a wayward glance in his trainer’s direction. Mishu stood like a statue in the backdrop of the forest, towering over most of the other lifeforms that ran through the tall grasses or scurried underneath the leaf litter that covered the ground below. Her curly blue hair spilled down her back and over her shoulders, framing her rich ebony face where her brilliant amber eyes glowed like beacons in the night sky. “I…I…” Wanigara stammered, the words being sucked from his lips as he slunk down off the tree, dragging his scaly brown and black hide through the leaf-infested floor drumly. “I…didn’t mean to…” He confessed silently.
The strength Wanigara held inside of his sharp-clawed limbs was an unbearable reality and hard for the small crocodile to accept. Mishu bent down from her towering position in life, kneeling so that her legs curved in sharp and tucked away angles underneath her form, and gently stroked her cold-blooded friend across the top of his head. Wanigara froze, eyes staring up curiously at his trainer with recognition as thoughts wavered in and out of focus. Was he this big, scary beast that other Pokemon made him out to be when his genuine smile was all it took to intimidate them and make it hard for him to create lasting friendships? “Wanigara…what’s wrong?” Soft words spoke kindly to the young reptilian Pokemon from Mishu’s lips, to which he just shrugged and half-turned away from her in shame.
“Are you upset…about hurting that Caterpie?” She tried to understand as she cast a observant glance towards the leafy grounds that surrounded the base of the young softwood pine shooting out of the ground nearby. Some shuffling and murmuring as creatures darted through the debris and tall grasses, hurrying to pull a young green carcass off through the shadowy forest and out of sight. “It looks like its friends are here so it’ll be ok.” She promised with a soothing tone that seemed to reset time itself to make things right. He smiled, thumping his stumpy tail on the ground, and causing the leaf litter to stir in response. A strange crocodilian smile that caused the edges of his mouth to stretch wide, showing the many sharp and pointed teeth that lurked underneath.
“Let’s continue our trek onwards.” Mishu commented, shoving her hands against her knees as she pushed herself back up. A soft groan escaped her lips as a telltale sign of age settling into her bones, even though so much of her youth still clung to her thirty-year-old frame. Things ached, a fact of life, and seemed to feel worse the more she rested in her slowly advancing age, causing Mishu to realize the importance of an ancient adage regarding the need for daily exercise. They pressed on through the forest, covered by long, ensnaring branches that shot out from the base of the many trees in several directions, in hopes of finding they way out of this long-awaited nightmarish journey they’d recently embarked upon.

coming from Moss RockPenelope had way too many Pokemon to catch and then tuck away that she figured it's easier once they made it to the next city. Additionally, she'll need to buy some more snacks and food too! It's much easier to explain which Pokemon were hers and which ones were wild Pokemon were following along if anyone asked. She quickly made through the Evergreen Range as there were nothing but foliage that were... evergreen. They were able to withstand all types of weather, reasonably, and stay green all year. With her trail of Pokemon following her, she quickly made her way to the exit. Oh, she could really use a decent meal and a nice shower in the Pokemon Center! Not to mention a nice laundry too to wash all her clothes a new! She's starting to smell stinky and smelled like a forest hermit! GOING to Forest Exit

This...this was it. He could HEAR Goldenrod from here. Or at least he was pretty sure he could. Maybe he was losing his marbles from being in this forest for son long. Regardless, he was getting the heck outta here. Silas scurried ahead, ignoring his surroundings for the sake of reaching sweet, sweet civilization.

Adrian's radio suddenly crackled to life. He heard chatter, discussions about the goings on in Goldenrod alive on the airwaves. He had emerged from the dead zone and able to use his communication devices again.
"Finally," he breathed. He brought the radio to his mouth, "This is Officer Hartt calling in. I have found the missing child. I am nearing the Goldenrod-side gate that leads in and out of Ilex Forest. I repeat, I have found the missing child."
After a few moments, he got confirmation that his message was received and that an officer would meet him at the gate with the boy's parents.
He looked down at Tommy, who was staring at the ground, kicking a rock.
"Worried about being punished for runnin' off?"
Tommy shrugged, "Not really. Dad...is dad. Mom will probably be upset and will cry. Might get grounded... It's fine."
Adrian hesitantly reached out to pat the boy's shoulder, "I'm sure they will be happy to see you're okay. And your old man will be pleased your Byte protected you." Surely, the kid had bonded with the porygon by now.
It was silent as they continued walking now. Adrian's radio chirped and kept them abuzz with chatter. —Word Count: 000 | OOC:

Silas started going through the book of colorful curses that one could utter in situations like this. He was on a pointless fetch quest in a sandstorm. He was getting nicked up and dirty and was choking on DIRT! Bleh. Why was the forest so sandy!? Shouldn't the trees prevent this sort of thing? Or was it some pokemon causing the mayhem? Regardless, he suffered as he trudged through the mushroom field, ignoring everything around him. He didn't have time to loiter. Not if he wanted his skin to stay on his body.
He spat out another mouthful of sand that got under his makeshift mask. This was the worst!

Comin' in from the Moss RockAll kinds of greenery surrounded Shinya, some of it even matching the color of his hair, as he arrived in the Evergreen Range and just kept on going. Like the last several areas he passed through, Shinya wasn't interest in this area of Ilex. Not the scenery, nor the plant life, and not even the Pokemon that lived here. All the Team Skull grunt cared about at this time was reaching Goldenrod City, training up his Pokemon for his gym battle with Whitney, and spreading Team Skull's influence even further. Unfortunately, as strong as his Pokemon were, they weren't quite ready to challenge the Normal type gym leader yet. Fortunately, Goldenrod City had no shortage of people and Pokemon for Shinya to train up his team against, soon reaching the end of the Evergreen Range and coming upon the Forest Exit. OOC: Naturally, Shinya heads for the Forest Exit next.

He was CLOSE. SO CLOSE. He could see the exit gate from here! Silas had to admit that he started to run. Above him, Ace flew, cawing and crowing and flapping her wings with enthusiasm. They were getting out of this place. He could hear the distant rumble of the thunderstorm and did not care. FREEDOM. SWEET FREEDOM HE COULD TASTE THEE ON HIS TONGUE! COME TO HIM!

ZAIDEN KABILA Aspiring Champion : On | Time: Day
It was the last stretch of the league before they could finally leave this Arceus forsaken forest! Zaiden’s eyes welled up with tears of joy as he pressed on, feet pounding against the earth in hopes of eventually seeing the light of another day. It was dark through most of the forest, with strange creatures that lurked about and hungry foes who gobbled up other wild creatures before their eyes. There were moments Zaiden wasn’t sure he was ever going to make it out, and times when he found himself wandering around in circles.
Still, the evergreen range stood as a testament of what Zaiden went through. Tall trees like skyscrapers loomed around him, their tips cutting through low-hanging puffy white clouds with ease. Here, the heavens themselves greeted the earth, with the two seemingly reaching out to one another to shake hands. Even as autumn settled in, slowly changing leaves on various trees to bright shades of reds and yellows, the Evergreen Range remained a bubbling hue of emeralds and verdant.
It was amazing how some trees would slowly adapt and change their hues with the oncoming seasonal changes, whilst others clung feverishly to their bright green spectacles. Autumn and winter did not penetrate through their layers. It could bring the biting colds that manage to chase everything in ice and snow if it wished but could not steal these bright beauties of their natural wonders nor cause their leaves to shed with the oncoming snowstorms bound to breach their layers once Autumn gave way to winter.
Small bug crawled about, causing Moyashi’s attention to shift off Gena and onto them. Gena stood on the tips of her nimble feet with one limb raised in the air like a fist. She shouted after a bright green spider. It darted in haste, slipping underneath discarded leaves and shed branches with ease. Moyashi was just as nimble, darting hastily after her newfound meal as large vines zipped out from either side and rushed to snag the bug up within their grasp. “Don’t let her get you!” Gena cheered on.
The bright green arachnid hopped up onto a tree and scurried along its rough dark to a branch far out of reach. “Amazing work! That’s how you escape her!” Gena hopped up and down excitedly on Zaiden’s shoulder. He reached over with a wide smile and gently patted her to get his spider friend to settle down once more. She turned with a loud squeak and snapped at Zaiden’s fingers, but reeled back and stopped herself from biting him as soon as she recognized who it was. “Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry!” Gena cried, causing Zaiden to gently pet the top of her head with a shake of his own.
“I know you’re excited to leave the forest.” Zaiden erroneously contributed Gena’s excitement for their eventual freedom. It seemed natural to him. He’d been lost within Ilex for seemingly ever and couldn’t make heads or tails of his own direction for a while. Though he’d met a few strange men along the way, it aided him not in his own travels. One was a bit ditzy and kept slamming their skull into the sides of trees. The other man gave Zaiden a bad feeling and warned him about scary ghosts that lurked within the forest.
Was there anything else to Ilex that made such an arduous trek worth it in the first place? Even the hint of the wild feline Zaiden wasn’t quite sure he’d seen only reminded him of some cats he already owned. Many of which, he couldn’t find homes for quite as easily. What else was there in the wild landscape beyond some random bugs and getting lost, anyways? And the shrine… who seemed entirely abandoned… Zaiden turned towards the direction of freedom with a nod and quickly hurried to finally manage his way out of the forest.
