Appearance: Not as tall as others her age, Kaya is barely over 5'2", and weighs about 94 pounds. She is small and light on her feet, making her a faster runner and even faster sprinter. She can climb trees with ease and swim farther than most others as well. Her frame is slim, but with underlying muscle tone that most people miss, making it easy for them to underestimate her strength. She, however, cannot jump very high, but that doesn't affect her much. She has light red hair and golden-brown eyes. Her outfit consists of a lightweight, purple shirt under a dark gray tank-top-like shirt and black shorts. She wears ankle-high boots and black, fingerless gloves. A dolphin necklace hangs around her neck for unknown reasons, and a thin, white headband holds her bangs back and away from her face.
Personality: Outgoing, stubborn and unusually optimistic, Kaya is always cheerful and won't hesitate to speak her mind. Her determination rivals no one; when her mind is made up, it won't be changed. She is very loving and kind, but has a very nasty temper. Don't get on her bad side unless you want to be her mortal enemy! Although she is a very sweet person, she has a more cunning and dark side that she uses against her enemies or people who are mean to her. Not only will she be just as mean back to them, but she will oftentimes embarrass them in front of their friends if she finds a way to do so.
She really doesn't like being ignored, and hates being underestimated. If someone ignores her, she'll make herself known, whether it be by verbally putting down the person, or childishly getting their attention. Despite all of that, Kaya is very mature and can be serious when the need arises. She has a good sense of right and wrong, is witty and often sarcastic; her dry sense of humor sometimes attracts people she's not used to. She not one for violence, often putting herself between fighters and pleading for them to stop. Usually, this works.
Her strange ability for making friends is something even she is oblivious about. She really doesn't care if she has friends or enemies, she just wants everyone to get along. At first, she doesn't notice that, wherever she goes, she makes friends. Even her enemies become somewhat of a friend, more of like a rival. She can be extremely competitive as well, and will never back down from any challenge.
History: Like any other normal child, Kaya lived with her mother and father. Her mother's name was Sara and she ran a flower shop in the small part of town. Her father's name was Jeff and he was an assistant working under the gym leader in Blackthron City. He was rarely home, but when he was home, he spent a lot of time with his family.
Kaya had four younger siblings and two older siblings. Her four younger siblings where; two twin sisters; Rina and Rana, a younger sister; Cloe, and a younger brother; Danny. Her two older siblings where her older brothers, Joshua and Eric. The twin girls where the most mischievous and liked to play pranks a lot. Kaya was often seen joining them in pranking their older brothers and the neighborhood kids. Her younger sister, Cloe was shy and the most docile. Kaya was fiercely protective of her, as was Danny, who was a year older than her little sister.
One of her older brothers began collecting pokemon, and Kaya was hooked on the ice and fire pokemon. Her favorite was Articuno from the start, and she was ecstatic and a little bit jealous when Eric got one of them and began boasting about it. Still, she loved her older brother and didn't hold that against him. He set off on his own shortly after, and her other older brother followed soon after that. Kaya was 17 when she decided that she wanted to be a trainer like her older brothers and also, she wanted to become a breeder.
At first, her mother was against it, wanting her daughter to stay at home and be like her; a housewife. She didn't have to marry early, but she wanted Kaya to take over the flowershop one day. She didn't want to lose Kaya to the world of pokemon like she'd lost her sons, or that was the way she pictured it. She had a very hard time letting the boys go, and now Kaya wanted to leave her as well. But her father thought that it was a good idea. With much arguing and debating, Kaya finally convinced her father, who convinced her mother. On her 18th birthday, the young red-head set off on her own.
Goals: Kaya's number one goal is to become a good pokemon breeder and make her name known.
