In Joey's mind there was one hatred he had absolutely no tolerance for and that was abuse towards Pokemon. Having said that though, this type of lunatic was fast becoming the number one hate for the rough edged biker. "We can dance all day about our costume choices but I draw the line at you calling my Pokemon weak. The fact you just off handedly deem it weak shows you're just another ponce. Hell, if you even knew half the crap this poor thing's been through you'd be amazed that she's still got the strength to fight." He could have gone on but the sudden swap by the Pokemaniac had him at unease. With the Mothim now swapping places and showing off its similar shiny coat compared to that of the Zigzagoon, Joey was taken aback by just how remarkable it looked. "Wow... To think this is the second one I seen today." He looked to Kingston and smirked with a wry smile on his face. "I bet you forced this one under your trainer-ship just as you were about to with Zigzagoon, eh?"
He shrugged and reverted back to his devilish grin as Maki was raking in the hits with Quick Attack. "Just to prove you're wrong, i'm keeping Maki in to slap your Pokemon silly. With Shadow Tag out of play I could pretty much just end this..." His hand gestured towards the number of Pokemon sitting by his feet. The hellish hound known as Hades growled as its bore its fangs towards the man in the ridiculous get up. Meowth too was watching as sly as ever, complimenting the low growl from Hades was a rather nasty hiss. "Okay Maki, keep up with your little parade of Quick Attacks. We'll wrap this up sooner or later...!" Joe also had some other Pokemon on him but he was savouring them in case things turned sour and he needed more back up. "Ball's in your court." He noted, watching as the Mothim was shrugging off the last hit.

Vs. PokéManiac Kingston- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A grin slid into place as he was told off for calling Maki weak. "I don't exactly see Levim cringing in pain on the ground," Kingston retorted, crossing his arms. The softly sparkling Mothim barely looked as if he'd just endured two Quick Attacks in a row, hovering gently off the ground. The Bug type shook his head at Joey's next words, answering for himself. He had willingly gone into Kingston's care.
No one ever wanted a Burmy, even one of the shiny persuasion, but Kingston had recognized him and offered him a chance to shine. Levim braced himself as Maki came flying in again, launching herself into the air with her tail to strike out at him. Wind gusted out of his small body as the Sentret hit him directly in the abdomen and retreated quickly, leaving him wheezing.
He kept a wary eye on Hades, the large helldog, sensing something extremely dangerous about her. "I'd like to see your little rodent hit back with her health deteriorating! Levim, Toxic!" Kingston commanded loudly. The shiny Mothim rose higher into the air, antennae sticking up straight as a ball of something dark purple began materializing above them. Uttering a shrill cry, Levim thrust his head and body down towards Maki, letting the toxic ball fly.
It slammed into her head, seeping in through her mouth and pores to badly poison her. Pain, dizziness and nausea immediately rolled through her body, bringing the Sentret to her knees with a weak moan. Kingston looked proud and arrogant as Levim fluttered closer to him, blue eyes shining with pleasure. "See? Not every Pokémon I own hates me," the maniac replied haughtily, patting the moth gently on the head. Trainer Battle

Kingston and Joey were certainly two very opinionated individuals. What one said, the other would counter argue and it was fast deteriorating into a game of bickering. "Hmph, just you wait. Lady Luck's due to give me a helping hand sooner or later." He stopped talking and continued the rest of his sentence mumbling under his breath. "...I'm overdue one." The surprising turn of events also had Joey eating his own words. From the way Levim was so respondent to its trainer made him question what he said. "Hmm... Okay, i'll give you that one but you can't disagree that Zigzagoon's not exactly all rainbows an' sunshine about you trying to get him. I can still see him strugglin' now." While Joey had been talking he only barely realised what Kingston had ordered. "Oh crap! Not good!" He covered his mouth with his sleeve. After that little encounter with the hag and her Budew spraying paralysing bits of pollen everywhere, Joe was not going to take too many chances shielding himself too from status inflicting moves.
As the toxic strands entered Maki's system, he knew far too well what would happen if he let things persist. Having had experience with Pokemon of a poisonous persuasion he knew that as the battle were to drag on, the Pokemon would be inflicted with an ever deadly surge of toxic poison through the veins. "Damn, Maki... Hold on...!" Realising that he still had some berries on him from when Ezgi said her farewell, he hurriedly searched for them and breathed a sigh of relief as he found one Pecha berry. He whistled loudly to catch Maki's attention and presented the Pecha berry to her. "C'mon, that's a good girl. Eat this and that funny pain in your tummy will go all away." He lobbed it up into the air and watched as Maki acrobatically grabbed it by extending its main body out with its useful tail. Its stubby little arms held it close and it began devouring it at an incredible rate. "Haha, nice! Seems you were hungry too, not just thirsty..." He looked back to Levim and pointed to it. "As you were, Quick Attack as per usual."
With the battle between moth and rodent now under way, Joey had another look at Kingston. He was still as much as a fruitcake as when he last looked at him but that disapproval made by Levim had him reconsidering his view of the man. "So this Levim them. I take it you've had this since it was little? It seems... Fond of you." He really had no idea what to make of the guy. Perhaps he was just over eccentric about his like for Pokemon but something still seemed off. "Ya still seem like a bad apple to me. Rotten at the core." It was true as far as Joey concerned, if he had raised the Burmy from a young age it wouldn't change the fact he raised it purely because it was special because of its colouring. Just how many other normal Magikarps, Burmys, Stunfisks and Dunsparces had he avoided simply because they didn't stand out?

Vs. PokéManiac Kingston- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - He rolled his eyes at the remark about Zigzagoon not keen on trying to become his friend. The raccoon-dog had been staring raptly at Joey for the past few moments, making no attempt to escape Crown's Shadow Tag, its amber-orange eyes curious. Kingston had yet to notice where the shiny Pokémon's attention was riveted. The man gently nudged Levim forwards, the Mothim responding with a light trill of affection.
The opportunity presented itself when Maki turned away to respond to Joey's whistle, and Kingston threw himself upon it with gusto. "Now Levim, strike it with Mud-Slap!" he boomed. The shiny moth trilled again and lowered himself to the ground, spitting onto a small patch of land. He scooped some into his paw and tossed it in the air, churning his wings hard so that the tip of one caught the ball of mud and sent it flying at Maki, spreading out into a fan shape.
Maki turned round after finishing her berry and was immediately presented with an eyeful of mud, causing her to squeal in pain and furiously rub at her eyes. Luckily, Keen Eye prevented her from losing accuracy, but even sight-impaired there was no way she could miss Levim on the ground. She dashed forwards like no tomorrow, throwing herself at the tensed and waiting Levim.
Savage joy coursed through her as she felt her shoulder connect with his small, fuzzy body and send him reeling back. Kingston's Mothim trilled loudly in an aggravated tone, hustling forwards as Maki collected herself and retaliated with a strong Tackle attack. The Sentret bit down on the whimper that leapt up her throat as she limped back over to Joey, rubbing her chest. Levim fluttered awkwardly into the air, dazed by the Quick Attack.
"It matters little what you think of my bond with my Pokémon, and it's easy to see you'll never understand. Let's agree to disagree, hmm?" Kingston replied, indicating he, too, was growing rather tired of butting heads with their words. It was like bringing a pair of pens to a sword fight, neither really gaining much of an advantage over the other. Trainer Battle

"Tch." Joey was starting to realise how stubborn he was really being. With Maki now in dire straights and the battle going nowhere fast, it was time for Joey to reverse and back peddle on what he had said. "Agree to disagree... Now that's something I can shake on." He looked to Maki and realised this was for the best. He so wanted to prove his point about her being just as useful in battle but he was deciding enough was enough now. He looked down to Maki and nodded solemnly. "It's ok, you've proved more than you can imagine. You hit the Wynaut enough this Kingston guy had to step in and Mothim's had a battering or two." He stepped forward quickly and retrieved Maki in his arms. With Shadow Tag out of play it was now thankfully possible to get her out of harm's way and let the show get on the road finally.
He looked down to Meowth who had stood to action with Maki being retreated. The cat needed no words to know it was next up for a scrap and what a scrap this would be. "Y'know, I think i've proved my point far enough. Maki's not so much the weak little rodent you made her out to be. So let's call it quits now, eh? I'll bring this dragging stalemate to a close." He pointed forwards and called out to his partner. Meowth responded with an eager pounce into the foray and as he landed its own two feet, unsheathed its sharp looking claws before Mothim. "Okay Meowth, brace yourself and let's knock the wind out of this guy's sails! Fake Out!" Meowth nodded, looking on preparedly for Mothim's next move. As Joe awaited for the battle to unfold he looked down to Maki to see if she was okay. The poor little thing appeared absolutely exhausted but was still swaying as if under the influence of Encore. "As long as you don't leap out my arms and try getting back into the skirmish I don't care. Just rest easy fer now ok? I don't want Ezgi thinking she left you in the wrong hands."

Vs. PokéManiac Kingston- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - (I was wondering when he would switch out that ragged looking creature...) Kingston thought idly as he watched Joey lunge forwards and pull Maki to safety. He put his arms around the back of his head and clasped his hands together, watching the battle in a slightly lazy manner. The next Pokémon to hustle forwards was the trainer's Meowth, eyes bright and vibrant, showing none of the fatigue that appeared in Maki's.
"Well Levim, they've left themselves open, why don't you show off that nice Tackle of yours?" Kingston asked his Mothim, who trilled as he fluttered forwards at an angle. Levim tucked his head into his neck as he rammed Meowth in the chest, knocking the feline back a few inches. Satisfied his work was done, the shiny creature glided back to his trainer and circled round in preparation for the next volley of attacks.
Now he could expect a serious battle. Unclasping his hands, the collector pointed at Meowth and clenched the other hand into a fist. "Alright Levim, another order of Toxic!" he commanded, not paying attention to how lightning quick Joey's Meowth was moving. The haughty cat snickered and leapt off the ground, his paws held outstretched in front of him and smacked them into Levim's face, shocking the moth into flinching.
Kingston waited patiently for Levim to recover and looked irritated when the shiny Mothim seemed unable to return fire. "Shrug it off, Levim!" the maniac ordered, eyes sparking with the first signs of true fury as his partner tried, and failed, to muster up any attacks to toss at the silently laughing feline mocking them across the field. True enough, Joe and his team were done playing around. Maki had learnt a good experience about the ins and outs of battling but now it was time to even out the odds. "I must admit, your little getup and stubbornness was amusing for the most part but you don't stand up to this lot." His hand fell to his side, gesturing towards the Pokemon around him. Unlike Kingston's they were pretty unremarkable in their appearance. In fact some of them weren't a pretty sight at all from the battle they had been in and scars collected from previous lives. Joey's own Meowth had a faint scar here and there from his time spent as a stray. "They ain't much to look at but they're damn good at a brawl." He nodded his head in gesture towards the moth Pokemon of Kingston and tilted his head disapprovingly. "'Fraid I can't let no more of that poison business go on. Meowth! Bite into Levim and give him a little mark for him to remember ya by!"
Joey looked up to Kingston with a wry grin. "Seeing as this is pretty much over i'm afraid i'll have to be taking that Zigzagoon off ya. At the end of the day we pretty much saw the critter at the same time and seeing as we've just flexed our muscles so to speak i'd like to think i'm the clear victor here, y'know?" He looked to his Levim and Crown and chuckled once. "I may not look it but i'm a thief too. Should ya disagree I might have to relieve them off you as much as it pains me." He petted Maki's head and smiled confident at his proposition. It was pretty obvious where the Zigzagoon was going to be ending up but a little intimidation wouldn't hurt in this case. The headache Joe had from butting heads with Kingston wasn't quite ready to go but the it felt a little better after giving him the option.

Vs. PokéManiac Kingston- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The first signs of nervousness began to make themselves known on Kingston, starting with beads of sweat rolling down his nose and the nape of his neck. Levim was faltering badly, and something told him that the stupid kitty doing so much damage was going to make damn sure he was faster than the Mothim on his death throes. The maniac ignored Joey entirely, which was sure to piss him off, and focused instead on Crown, casting Levim to the dogs.
Meowth surged forwards and was on Levim in a flash, sharp little fangs sliding neatly through the critter's furry little abdomen and drawing blood. Levim uttered a squeal of pure agony before he fell backwards almost in slow motion and sank to the ground with the cat still on him. Using the momentum, Meowth launched himself at Crown as Kingston made a wild snatch at the frightened looking Zigzagoon. "YOU'RE NOT TAKING MY SHINY!" Kingston bellowed.
Instead of scratching the Wynaut, Meowth's claws ripped into Kingston's lower half and caused a great deal of money to flutter onto the ground before contacting flesh. A howl of rage erupted from the maniac as he clutched his bleeding leg. And to add insult and, well, further injury to injury, the Zigzagoon was suddenly free from Crown's powers and headbutted Kingston hard in the gut. With a faint grunt he was down, quickly recalling his beloved partners before fixing a crazy, murderous look at Joey.
"Mark my words, asinine jerk. I'll make you pay for this!" Kingston snarled before fleeing the scene as fast as he could. Meowth sighed and collected the fallen cash immediately, paying no heed to the shiny Zigzagoon trotting along behind him. It barked at Joey happily and nuzzled his leg, brushy tail wagging furiously behind it. Clearly it knew that this man had to be good if he saved him from a life of being a shiny trophy Pokémon.

Joey couldn't help but smirk at the turn of events. "Hey buddy! It could've gone a lot worse!!" He yelled out, calling to him as the maniac made his slow exit from being gashed by Meowth. "My Houndoom could've torn you a whole new orifice!" Joey stepped forward and happily collected the pile of cash that Meowth had looted and picked it all up, counting it over slowly. "Not a bad taking. Nice swipe, Meowth!" His cat purred and looked at the money itself longingly. Joey however stuffed it into his jacket pocket and brushed his hands together at seeing off the crazed maniac. "That was the stubbornest sonofabitch i've met." The last words parted with by Kingston ringed in his ears. He merely reflected over them and murmured under his breath. "We'll see. Seems like the money you just dropped had you paying instead." He was stolen away from his inner thoughts with the delighted Zigzagoon now happily rubbing the side of its face against Joey's legs and getting his attention with its small barks. Considering how affectionate this Zigzagoon was to him and the fact Kingston would likely try and come back later to try and have another go at hunting it down, Joey looked to his Pokeball and contemplated thoughtfully. "Say, you're bit of a crazy little critter aren't ya? If you're anything like a raccoon you'll be great finding things... Hm, I could do with someone like ya! Alright, welcome aboard!" Joey flung a Pokeball into the air gently and watched as it locked onto the shiny Pokemon, capturing it without hitch. Joey nodded and held onto his newly acquired Pokemon inside its container. "Haha, my first shiny. Just wait until Shar hears about this. I know she's got a fair few of 'em." Checking back on his team he noticed they were all back in high spirits. It was tough fights such as those that forged even stronger bonds between them all. His focus fell to Maki who seemed slightly different from when she entered the battle. The cutesy little scout Pokemon looked increasingly confident in itself and was resting on the tip of its tail scouting out for other nearby Pokemon. "Huh? Maki? Looking for another battle?" Joey moved closer and looked around with the Sentret. "Did'ja see something?" Joey fell silent and noticed she had in fact found something. A rustle in the tall grass off in the distance gave away the tell tale sign that something was lying in wait. Joey shrugged and stood up. "Let's go see what it is." He strolled forward and awaited to see what would greet them all. OOC: YES MY FIRST SHINY AND YOU CAN'T GET MUCH BETTER THAN THAT! Shiny ZigzagoonName: Duster Gender: MaleLevel: 7 Moves: Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip Ability: Pickup Nature/Personality: Duster being a shiny variant of it species meant it was always being hunted by trainers for its elusively different coloured fur. Due to this, it has meant that Duster has a developed a very quick thinking personality and will more often than not flee than see through a fight. This also means it has no issues with fighting a bit underhand if it means living to see another day. Happiness: 0 I shall also remove Foresight for Fury Swipes but I can update this no problem.

During the battle between the rough blonde biker and the strange male dressed up as a Charizard, a rather fidgety pair of dull red eyes had been watching from the nearby bushes. The whole time he was barely able to stay still, it's eyes rolling about in their sockets while a single back leg was twitching wildly at an abnormal rate. Even his chattery bottom jaw made frigid movements every now and again. It's rapid movements only became more severe as the battle ended, one of the sides walking away in disappointment.
With the movements the small rodent was making, the leaves and twigs of the bush which it sheltered under began to shake along with it, catching the attention of the adorably sweet Sentret. As Maki stood alert on her tail, whatever was lingered in the bushes began to fit out in a frenzy. Bits of soggy foam began to fly out between the gaps of the bushes. The adorable factor of this Maki was obviously too exciting for the Pokemon lurking away, his rapid movements increasing further as she began to approach the rustles, along with her trainer Joe. It was all becoming too much and it just had to get out there and introduce itself!
As Joe and his team came into a reasonable distance, the rustling came to a halt and a Pokemon burst out into the open. It was a horrifying sight. The Rattata had it's rather dimly lit eyes locked onto the female Sentret, despite it's rabid appearance it was obviously completely enthralled with it. Only, Maki was hardly going to feel the same about the rabid Rattata which was foaming at the mouth and practically twitching about every bone in it's body. Even it's eyes would sometimes begin looking in different directions. What the heck did the sun do to the Pokemon of Newbark Town?!
Some crazy, rabid Rattata (Level 8) wants to battle!

With the surprise of a feral looking Rattata jumping out and greeting them, Joey grabbed Maki and flung himself a good few paces back from the rat Pokemon. The foam that was dribbling forth from the Rattata's mouth was not a pleasant sight at all. "Ergh, last thing we want is rabies or something... Damn." The way it twitched and seemed completely enraptured with Maki was a bit unnerving in itself. "I really can't figure out Pokemon sometimes." He looked at the Rattata again and really wasn't sure if this was the effect of the heat or this was just the Pokemon being generally deranged anyway. In Joey's collection of Pokemon he thought back to the Rattata he had already owned. He named it Fang as it had a rather prominent set of teeth to it. The similarity between Fang and this rabid one was similar in the fact they both looked tough but the spewing amounts of foam was enough to put Joey right off.
He looked to Maki and frowned. "Do you really want to go ahead and fight this? I mean... If you contract rabies i'm not to blame right?" Maki's ears bent forward and it made it clear that it was deadly serious about taking down this opponent. It may have failed to take down Kingston's exotic team but this was something more close to home for the diminutive Sentret. It wasn't going to run away from this. Joey looked to Rattata and thought over what to do. Minimal contact with the foaming rat was best so there options were restricted. "Alright! Maki! Let's try out Fury Swipes! May as well try out your new moves!" Joey looked on eagerly to see how Maki's fighting prowess had grown. If there was one thing for certain, it could now hold its own if it were ever forced into a tricky situation like before.

As Maki was released from her trainers arms and allowed to battle, even though Joe wasn't too happy with it, the rabid Rattata began twitching it's head from side to side as if examining the Sentret further. What soft looking fur she had and her stripy tail was most inviting to take a bite out of. The corners of it's mouth began curling upwards slightly into a rather deranged grin which grew even more psychotic as more drool began to escape from inbetween it's two large teeth.
A deep squeaked suddenly emerged from behind the twitching and the drool as Joe ordered his first move. Despite acting like a twitching wreck, the Rattata seemed to have some power or thoughts behind it's rather gruesome exterior. Before Maki even had the chance to approach to let loose her attack, the Rattata had already sped into action. At blinding speed it began to circle the Sentret, practically teleporting from spot to spot, large blobs of drool splatting on the floor to indicate where he once was.
After his moment of mind games, the Rattata shot forward, crashing itself into Maki who was standing alert on her tail. Wobbling back and forth like a weeble, a rather shocked expression spread across her poor face. It wasnt just drool and twitching, the rat stank of a sewer, that or it had been sleeping in a dirty puddle of water for the past few days. With her sense of smell utterly demolished due to the rat, Maki decided it was time for some pay back. Bouncing from it's tail onto her all fours, Maki bounded towards the Rattata and began to let rip, every single swipe causing either slobber to fly about everywhere or even clumps of the purple rodents rotting fur.

Joey couldn't help but direct his face away as the globs of foaming drool splattered everywhere. "I really don't think we can do much for this thing... Maybe put it out of its misery?" He shrugged and looked to the rest of his team. "He looks in a pretty bad way and beyond help." Maki had barely shrugged off the last hit from Rattata and the flurry of hits it had lashed out with meant that things were barely in their favour. Joey kneeled down and looked over Maki quickly to ensure nothing had spread over her fine fur coat. "Nope, you seem okay for now. If it even so much as gets a bit of foamed spit over ya we're ending this and fleeing for the hills." Maki nodded and was determined to win this. Happy she was in good enough spirits, Joey pulled back and ordered another strike on the deranged Rattata.
"New Bark's really flinging the lost an' found of society at me today. First that insane Hoothoot that believed Maki to be an icecream, then that lunatic dressed up as a Charizard and now this diseased looking rat. What next? A fatally venomous insect?" Joey sighed and looked on as Maki squeaked for an attack. "Oh! Right! Sorry 'bout that, Maki! QUICK ATTACK!". Although he moaned about being met with an assortment of crazies, at least they made things interesting. As Maki understood the order, it pounced forward on all fours and then launched itself forward at a ferocious speed.

As Joe knelt to the floor to check over Maki, the Rattata began foaming at the mouth more intensely, how could they be so close? Scratching it claws to drag itself forward, the Rattata began to shake it's slobbering maw intimidatingly towards the overly tall male. This was a fight between the Rattata and Sentret, no trainers were going to get in the way. The truth of the matter was that infact this Rattata had been abandoned by his own trainer in the past, left to fend for itself in this big open world. But that didn't matter now. He was long past recovery and was happy enough living it's twitching, rabid life.
Sentret was fast enough to spring into action, her Quick Attack being even speedier than his own. The sight of Maki disappearing and reappearing several times as she made her way closer caught the Rattata off guard, he simply stood there watching, his eyes glazed over until he felt it. Her chunky body crashed into his own and sent him flying backwards through a patch of tall grass. Patches of loose purple fur clinging to the blades, it was almost as if the grass was trying to break its fall but ended up pulling chunks off of it instead.
Laying on it's side sadly, the Rattata began to twitch randomly every few seconds. From Joe's perspective, it was down and out. The purple rat was actually remembering the time when it had a strong and positive trainer, it wasn't until the young lad had found a feather brained Spearow to replace him and he released the Rattata back into the wild. Why? He could've grown into a strong Raticate but now he was all alone and was barely able to fend for himself with all these strong trainers around, either avoiding him for being disgusting or battling him for thrills. Amazingly, it pushed itself back to it's feet, just barely being able to stand. Staggering himself out of the grass, the Rattata began twitching it's eyes angrily. While resting it had seemed to store up quite a bit of power.

Joey felt incredibly torn upon seeing the rabid Rattata lying on the floor. The incessant foaming at the mouth and its maniac like twitches really had Joey wondering if he could do anything for it. He was never worn to cause unnecessary harm to a Pokemon either unless he absolutely positively had to. He mulled it over as he watched it lie there, inches away from being beaten for good. Joe looked to Maki and pondered her reaction. "Say... Maki? What if we capture this?" Maki's ears tilted to the side as it tried to understand what Joey meant. It was hoping to actually gain one victory by defeating an opponent but it then remembered how generous Joey was as a trainer. After all, he had given her water when she needed it most, captured a lunatic Hoothoot from getting into more trouble and fended off a creepy looking man from that shiny Pokemon. Sensing Joey's kindness, Maki smiled cheerfully and let out a happy cry.
Joey nodded and realised this was probably for the best. "Maybe he just needs a lovin' home or somethin'... I dunno." He retrieved an unused Pokeball and activated the lock mechanism. "You're mine!" He lined up the shot, reeled back and threw the Pokeball with enthusiastic gusto. "You've still learnt a lot from this though, right Maki? Sometimes brute strength ain't all you need. Sometimes mercy is best." He looked back over to the ball as it did its ritual shake.
