“Char Charmeleon Char?”
“Nae.”
“Maaaa chop Maaa?!”
“Nae.”
“……Are we there yet?”
This stopped Hale dead in her tracks as she threw a glance over her shoulder to the Abra clinging to her back who merely stared back at her quizzically as though having no clue to what he had done wrong. Of course, it wasn’t wrong in any sense of the word, but the feeling of wanting to lob him into the nearest tree along with the other two dunderheads who had been badgering her with the same question was growing.
“Et tu, Hannibal?”
“It was an honest question, Hale. We have been walking for approximately five hours, thirteen minutes and fifty-five seconds.” Said the Abra calmly, his features not even wavering when he heard the low thunk-thunk-thunk of Hale’s head meeting the hard surface of a tree trunk Repeatedly.
“Feckittyfeckittyfeckfeck--Ye’ve been keeping bloody track o’ the time.”
“But of course. It is only logical….because I have a feeling that mutiny will be inevitable once we get to sixty seconds.”
Turning around to face her team, she took note of how Faust was dragging his feet like he was half-dead while Spartacus simply crossed his arms and sat his ass down stubbornly. Desirae, as high on some canine form of caffeine as ever was dancing circles out of everyone else and making a game out of it. Delacroix who stood steadfastly by Hale’s side shot the Charmeleon a wicked little taunting smirk---if the weasel was tired, he certainly wasn’t showing it. Jericho on the other hand was spread-eagled on the grass and looking as though he would have melted into the earth there and then.
“Alright. Fine. Time out for everyone. Blasted city couldn’t be any farther now, could it?” The girl grumbled as she pulled out a map from the sling bag and pored over it laboriously…until droplets of water began to soil the parchment and she shook her head vigorously like a dog to scatter the sweat elsewhere.
“What I wouldn’t give fer some feckin’---“
The Abra suddenly took hold of her head gently and steered it to the right, and her eyes opened wide at the sight of what laid in front of them.
“Shade. Well strike me blind..”
“Are you referring to that hypothetically?” Hannibal enquired, tightening his grip on her shoulders as she began to walk towards what looked like an abandoned warehouse. A large one.
“Hanni, learn to take a jest.” Said Hale with a grin as she scratched the fox’s chin and whistled for her team to come along. They all shot her various form of death glares except for Desirae who was way ahead of them dashing towards the building, but their expressions lightened considerably when she added,
“Easy fellas. Let’s take a breather there lest the sun roast our skins off our backs. “
It didn’t take them long to reach the warehouse which loomed over and cast them in shadow as Delacroix wrinkled his snout at the weathered-looking exterior disdainfully. As the stout trainer tugged at the steel-plated sliding door, her team lent her a hand unanimously as they often did until it finally opened wide enough to allow them in, the shaft of light from the entrance seemingly the only source of light in the dank hall.
The place despite its decrepit façade was vast. Vast enough that Faust’s voice echoed off the walls in an eerie manner as he strode towards a few upturned crates which were seemingly arranged towards a pile of scrap metal and wood like chairs to a table.
Odd.
“This place isn’t as empty as it seems.” Hannibal noted as he watched Hale brush her hand upon the antique machinery which all bore a fine sheen of dust.
“Well if this is some hideout, it’s bloody brilliant. Look at the size of it!” A mischievous grin had carved itself upon the young woman’s lips as she listened to ‘Size of it!’ echo through the derelict corridors. This was certainly far more interesting than trudging through the path. No reason they couldn’t explore a little now, was there?
“C’mon lads……let’s see if we can’t do a little spelunkin’ around her. Eyes out fer anythin’ weird, and Hanni, let’s have a mental wave set for a twenty foot radius fer anything sentient, aye?”
The fox nodded, casting his psychic barrier over the region around them to sense any threats as they continued to trek down the hallways….

The psychic scouting being performed by Hale's Hannibal wouldn't have to go too far. Already the Abra was picking up signs of sentient life within the area. There was an abundance of wild Pokemon scurrying about in the dingy dark depths that consumed the inside of the once grand warehouse. Its past was a far cry from the dilapidated building that begrudgingly stood where it was today. As opposed to being filled with factory workers and cargo crew, it was now home to Pokemon of all different varieties but typically those that wouldn't be commonly found out in the green pastures of well trodden paths. Instead, this abandoned warehouse boasted the ideal conditions for those that enjoyed the cover of darkness as well as leftover waste from the numerous barrels that were never shifted when the warehouse was being operated. The psychic ability didn't pick up just wild Pokemon however, oh no. There were faint lifeforces being given off by the small number of humans that had claimed this abandoned warehouse as their base of operations. It seemed all of them were preoccupied with activities and were too far off to get a proper reconnaissance on their identity and so forth meaning Hannibal's ESP was restricted. Unbeknownst to Hale and her ragtag group of fighters, this warehouse was in fact owned by someone she had come across a couple of times in her journey so far in Johto. Their first real meeting was in a darkened alleyway as the two arranged a trade off for business matters. There was also the one time in the Unova Festival when they brushed past one another at one of the many stalls but either one was so heavily dressed up it wasn't exactly possible for them to recognise one another. Her exploration into the warehouse would be unfortunate. Had she have known this was owned by the cheeky rogue she would have been greeted with a grandiose welcome by his gang and he but instead, all that greeted her was nothing but the dark echoing bleakness of the warehouse. If Joey had made aware his secret hideout, he would have also warned her about one of the other dangers of his warehouse. Most official trainers had access to Bill's PC to which they would deposit their Pokemon in for safe keeping. Not Joey however. Having been put on the wanted listed and labelled an outlaw, his contract with Bill was terminated. Needing a place to store his assortment of Pokemon he had since collected, he decided on ordering Looker to create a receiver in his warehouse that would allow all of the Pokemon he had caught to live in his warehouse. He always felt bad about keeping his Pokemon locked away in their Pokeballs and not able to roam about freely. At least with this solution they would have free reign of the warehouse. It wasn't like all that space was going to be used anyway. This decision would also have an extended impact on Hale's visit today. As she moved closer through the hallways and into the incredible main interior of the supposedly empty warehouse, it was surprising to see that it wasn't as deslate as first thought. Instead, there was a gargantuan rock snake that was slumbering peacefully in the centre, wrapped around in a circle in an attempt to accommodate its huge size. The boulder like sections to its body were covered in heavy markings from scars. The heavy breathing echoed throughout the warehouse and it didn't seem like it would be waking up any time soon. The colossal beast was none other than an Onix and perhaps because of this, it had very little sentience for Hannibal to pick up on. These monsters lived on nothing but impulse. As if stirring due to the noises from one of Hale's team, the leviathan beast slowly awoke and looked around in a small daze from having slept so long. It immediately noticed the unfamiliar presence of Hale and her team and let out a deafening roar that rattled every wall in the building. If there was one thing this Onix didn't like, it was undoubtedly change. All it wanted was a peaceful life to itself but ever since it came in contact with that biker it had been nothing but trouble. Whipping its tail on the floor and roaring out once more it moved forward slightly, to confront Hale. " WHO DARES INTRUDE UPON MY PEACE?!" One final roar was yelled and it eyed the trainer furiously. " I WILL CRUSH YOU WOOOOOORMS." Encounter
A disturbed Onix (Level 18) has awoken! Please select a Pokemon for battle.

“In no way is this place as barren as it seems, Hale. There are vibrations everywhere. Mental waves clashing with one another. We might be intruding.” Hannibal spoke up after a few seconds of trying to filter though the low-frequency noise in his head which was like a soft buzzing of bees. Too many thoughts to hone in to just one. This wasn’t a case of one or two people staking out in an abandoned hideout---this was a hive. They were rather deep in the warehouse by now and the corridors were winding from one hall to the other. For most part Hale’s curiosity was getting the better of her and she had this burning desire to find out exactly who ran this hideout if her Psychic scout was telling the truth, which was more or less constantly.
“I know we are. I figure we might as well ask ‘em for safe passage or a place to rest before we drag our asses back on the roar again with nothing but rolling green hills for the next five miles.” The brunette casually told the Abra who quirked up an eyebrow quizzically but nodded anyway and kept his psychic scout boundary active. At the very least he could separate the droning of human minds and Pokemon minds, of which there was a sizable number though they had to be deep in this establishment as none had appeared despite the team’s intrusion.
The place was getting darker where the sun didn’t shine and Hale wordlessly threw a glance at Faust who got the idea almost immediately and blazed up his tail flame to act as a living torch for them as stark shadows of the traveling troupe were cast upon the walls.
“Shoulda bought a ball of thread fer this.” Hale groused to herself though Hannibal as usual picked it up and prodded her in the back of her neck with his snout.
“Thread? What an odd implement for our situation. I would be much obliged if you could explain its use to me, Hale.”
“Well…” Hale’s features were scrunched up in thought as she tried to remember all the Greek Mythology her father used to tell her as part of their bedtime story repertoire.
“There’s this legend about this bloke named Theseus. Greek hero of sorts. So he gets his arse sent down to this huge maze one day and needs tae find his way through, see, and he gets this ball of thread which he rolls out at the entrance and pulls at as he moves along, so that when all is done, he can find his way out easy.”
Hannibal thought it over for a few seconds before nodding sagely.
“Humans certainly have a way with critical thinking. What was he sent down there to find?”
"Legends called a Minotaur. It’s a---“
As they came to one large hall, her eyes fell upon the massive pile of what seemed to be leftover granite from construction someone had carelessly left here out of laziness, until she saw that they were rumbling up and down in a manner reminiscent of breath.
“Monster.”
She had never seen something so huge in her life---that shit just wasn’t right. Her Pokedex held out to it, the beast was registered as an Onix. A Rock-type. Part of her felt a flood of relief coursing through as she nodded at Delacroix and Spartacus---both whom had an advantage in this sort of fight. The thought came not too soon as the beast suddenly rose out of its slumber, caught them in its sights and let out the most earth-shattering roar they had heard of recent times.
Hale crouched over slightly, her hair billowing backwards and her hands clasped over her ears as several of her team were also doing. Desirae had retreated behind her, whimpering noisily at the enraged animal and almost pissing herself out of fear though she was wiser than to try piddling on Hale’s jeans.
Faust went paler than a bleached sheet as he took two steps back and clung to Hale. He hated rocks, a type he instinctively recognized as one of his major weaknesses asides water. He hated feeling weak and small, so small compared to the Onix which could have fit him in that rocky, gapping maw.
<*****ing hell I ain’t going near that thing!> Faust croaked out in a voice that was very unlike his confident, slightly arrogant tone.
<I dink it is time we should go, da tovarisch?> Spartacus offered meekly, eyes bulging out of his sockets for a second when Delacroix leapt right in front of the stone behemoth.
<On the oath of my life, I will defend my comrades and you, good sir will not take a single step closer to them!> The weasel bristled his russet fur in warning and snarled at the Onix, seemingly undaunted by its massive presence. Delacroix knew his strengths and weaknesses well, and this mountainous Goliath shouldn’t be too hard to topple if a fight was really what it was looking for.
“Dela, catch!” Hale called out to the Buizel as she slipped off the necklet around Spartacus’ neck to toss it towards him. The thing was attached to an Eviolite, and as Delacroix expertly caught it to tie it around his own neck, he felt himself become stronger and more than ready for the challenge the granite python offered. Having used him enough times before to know that he could take as well as dish out massive punishment. Hale wasn’t too worried about his chances as she clapped him on the shoulder.
“Water Gun right in the kisser before he flattens us!”

Flicking its colossal rocky tail around as it took in the sight of the rest of Hale's group, the gargantuan Onix did not seem pleased in the slightest as it realised that this was the most beings it had ever come across at once. Having lived its life peacefully by itself, the rock snake shunned most forms of social contact. It was the epitome of a hermit. About the only one social interaction it tolerated was that of the rough and wild biker but that was due to the fact he had earnt the powerful Onix's respect. Moving its head in closer, the Onix roared out to the Pokemon in Hale's team. " WOOOORMS! You will know the might of the one known as Uragaan!" It seemed that at this point, battle would be unavoidable. As the stoically brave Buizel known as Delacroix courageously stood forward, the giant Onix let out a bellowing round of laughter that shook the very foundations of the warehouse around them. " HAH HAH HAH! Do not joke around little one. I will leave you crushed along this dilapidated floor." Leering down at it with its granite eyes, the Onix seemed genuinely shocked the Pokemon was not going to back down. Although it was obvious the Water Pokemon had a superior typing over it, the Onix had been so secluded in its upbringing that it had never been hit by the powerful jets of water that only the aquatic Pokemon could conjure forth. Whisking its stony tail around, the Onix known as Uragaan accepted its challenge. " Harrumph, very well, worm. Once I am done with you, I will force the rest of your kind out of my humble abode." Coiling itself around to assume a combat stance, the Onix was ready for battle. Considering how heavy its body must have been it was no surprise at all that it would be last to move. Delacroix readily stepped forward, having prepared its move right off the bat thanks to its superior speeds. With a deep inhale of the air around it, the Buizel pushed outs its chest before forming its mouth into a circular shape and jettisoning an impressive stream of water that rivalled the maximum force of even the most powerful of super soaker cannons. Uragaan watched as the stream of water jetted towards him and was amused to see what, if albeit any damage would be done to him. It was therefore easy to see why such a move caused such great shock to the Pokemon's system when it roared out in agony as its Rock and Ground typing succumbed to the super effectiveness of the Water element. Its roars fired off over and over repeatedly as it slammed its tail around, causing all sorts of debris to come crashing down from the ceiling. " WHAT DEVILRY IS THIS?! I will not stand for such cheap tricks. Orrrah!" It slammed its tail once more but in a far more refined manner and seemed to be enacting out its mouth. As the tail crashed into the floor, numerous blocks of cements were disjointed as a huge crater was left from the impact. With a powerful whip forward, the tail launched the blocks of cement into the air and did an improvised version of the move Rock Tomb! The chunks landed all around Delacroix, impeding its attacking speed and also damaging it as the smaller lumps of concrete came crashing down upon it. " Mwahahahaha! Like a worm, you will be SQUASHED!" Interestingly however, considering the Pokemon was doubly weak to the powers of the Water element, it was amazing to think the Pokemon was still standing in such good steed. The answer to this mystery would become obvious if the horn of the gargantuan snake were to be examined. At the tip seemed to be a special item attached. One incredibly similar to the one Hale had handed to her Pokemon. As this became clear, Uragaan seemed to notice the Eviolite around the opponent's neck. " Hmph, I see we have a vested liking for that special gem." The fact this Pokemon seemed to have its own name and item attached was becoming even more puzzling. Did this beast belong to a trainer? The Onix's attack had been as powerful as they had predicted from first impression--it was nothing they were particularly unprepared for as Hale gestured for the rest of her team to aid her in digging the injured weasel from out of the rubble---Spartacus, fighting-type that he was made short work of the boulders, smashing to rubble what he couldn't shove aside while Faust and Jericho both worked together to remove the smaller pieces. Using his Psychic power, the Abra settled on Hale's shoulders also pitched in, gently prying away the rocks which entombed the recklessly brave Buizel whose paw was finally seen sticking out of the mass of jagged stones.
Hale set her lips in a thin, tense line, feeling the rough surface of the rocks cut the palm of her hand as she scrambled to clutch his paw which twitched for a bit before he gripped her hand back firmly.
"Gotcha."
With a heave and some aid from Spartacus and Faust who pulled her back, hey finally extracted Delacroix from the rubble and he was a mess; chips of stone and pebbles dusted his fur and he was sporting several livid bruises and a few gashes from the sharper stone, but for most part, they seemed superficial. He was able to stand, which was a good thing and there was a triumphant little grin on his face as though he had just won the battle. This illusion however was quickly shattered when he heard the Onix rumbling about a different sort of stone again, and the Buizel let out an exasperated sigh as he slowly turned around and spotted the odd jewel embedded in the boulder python's horn.
"He definitely didn't pick that up by accident." Hale murmured, tapping her chin as she studied the thing more carefully. The Eviolite it was wearing was not native to Johto and could have only been given to it by a human, one who had recently been to the Unovan Festival. Whoever owned this place was a lot closer to home than she expected.
"The Landwyrm calls itself 'Uragaan'. As far as I know, our kind generally do not name themselves...at least not with a name as innocuous as that." Hannibal informed her as she brushed the debris off Delacroix's shoulders.
"Fella's got an owner around here somewhere though I daresay this one needs a wee bit o' house trainin'." said the brunette before narrowing her eyes in determination--the same sort that shone in her Buizel's as he faced off against the stone behemoth again.
After the shock of having realized that his attack hadn’t been as effective as it should have, a small smirk was carving its way upon his features as he raised his hackles and bared his fangs at the rocky snake.
<That we do, good man, and in all honesty, it pleases me to know that our playing field had been leveled…I do so love a good fight.> He uttered calmly, a far cry from Faust’s usual heated battle-banter.
<However, you know what they say about battles---there’s only the fast and the dead, and would you care to discuss who between us will land the next blow first? I’m feeling game, so I’ll give you a hint. It isn’t going to be snake hewn out of boulders, for one.>
“Finish him off with another Water Gun!” Hale’s order rang through the hollow corridors of the seemingly abandoned warehouse and at her words, the Buizel sprang into the air, propelling himself on his two tails so he could come face-to-face with the Onix.
<I will admit, weaknesses aside you are a worthy opponent. > The Buizel said before hurling another jet of water in his opponent’s direction, silently praying that this would end the battle…

Although fiercely affected by the stream of water, it seemed the vengeful Onix was doing its best to numb out the pain from its mind. The unusual glow from the gem adorned to its horn seemed to cover the Pokemon in a special aura. " I wonder if pop goes the weasel applies to you...!" With a lightning fast whip forward of his tail, the rocky snake coiled it around the the courageous Buizel. The rocky fragments it had discarded around the battlefield had meant that it was able to outperform the weasel in speed. Trying to track through pointed stones and rocks while aiming an attack was definitely not the easiest of tasks. With Delacroix now being hoisted into the air against its will, the spiteful Uragaan coiled his stone tail tighter together and took great delight in seeing the painful expression that was now visible. Swaying the Pokemon from side to side, Uragaan was savouring this more than he should. Given how the attack worked, it was undoubtedly a bind attack but this one seemed a lot more cruel, bordering on that of a critical attack. With another tight squeeze against the resistance of the Buizel's body, the fearsome land snake opened up its huge maw and began bellowing out in a dreary singing voice. " Half a pound of tuppenny rice... Half a pound of treacle... That’s the way the money goes...!" Pausing, it seemed Uragaan was more than determined to crush its opponent fully with blatant disregard for its life. With a final tightening of its coiled up tail, the Onix finished its verse. " POP GOES THE WEASEL!" His roar was intimidating simply by the sound wave that were reverberated out, shaking the very foundations of the warehouse supports. However, with his final grip, the outcome was vastly different from what it had intended. As opposed to splattering its insides all over the derelict floor, the Buizel sprang up into the air with incredible propulsion. " YOU DARE?!" Roared the Onix, only now realising what Delacroix had been doing while it was under the bind. As it was getting squished tighter and tighter, its body seemed to act like a sponge and dispense itself with an oily sort of water. The final bind had acted like a cannon and shot it free of the grip with its slippery new coat. Still roaring with the rage of a thousand dragons, Uragaan looked up and in the space of mere seconds, changed its cry from that of rage to absolute fear. Delacroix was now at a dizzying height and with enough time to aim, shot forward an incredible jettison of water. The fierce stream zipped forward like a continuous bullet and targeted directly into the Onix's gaping maw. Its weak point had well and truly been struck. Owned Pokemon Battle

Your Buizel fought courageously and has levelled up! It went up by 3 levels and is now Level 21! Delacroix would also like to learn the move Aqua Jet. Delete a move so that he can learn it? Reeling about, the Onix was now gargling and viciously striking its tail around without concern as it dealt with the overwhelmingly difficult pain. Eventually, it straightened out into the air upwards and with a mighty fall, sent shock waves over the floor as its unconscious body made it obvious that Delacroix's hard work and Hale's command had won them another well earnt victory. With the dust settling around them, the warehouse returned to its usually dead self. There was, however, still many questions remaining. This Onix was by no means wild and surely had to be owned by someone. Who exactly was it? Was this warehouse a hideout for them? Who else might be lurking around this run down building?

OOC: Thanks man <3 Forgetting Water Gun for Aqua Jet. I'll update the info myself~
To say the battle had been fierce would have been an understatement. It was short for sure, but Hale thought that she had never faced an opponent that unerved her more than this one did. All eighteen feet plus of it which seeme to go into some sort of violent spasms when Delacroix's attack connected with it, flailing around madly and becoming a bloody danger to near everyone in the vicinity as the brunette had the good mind to quickly dart forth and grab the weary weasel who had become sluggish from the rock snake's assault. It wasn't a moment too soon, as the very second she leapt out of the way with Delacroix in tow, the beast collapsed in a heap, smashing the place where they once stood and sending shockwaves throughotu the whole places alongside a din which could probably have been heard throughout the entire warehouse. So much for keeping under cover. No doubt everyone or everything which lived here now knew of their presence, and Hale found herself cursing under her breath.
As she picked herself up from the dust, Hale set the Buizel down and looked him over for injuries. Bruises could be seen through his fur. Heavy bruises, but they didn't seem life-threatening and at the very list by some dumb stroke of luck, he hadn't broken a single bone.
"Well nae fella. Ye can damn well tell everyone now how ye slayed the mighty dragon of yer fairy tales eh?" Hale managed a small chuckle as she ruffled the Buizel's fur and handed him a bottle of water---an offering he greedily accepted as he tore of the cap and drank in deep gulps, feeling his energy slowly return. It was the lifeblood of his type after all, and Hale finally tore her eyes away from her to look at the rest of her team save Hanibal who had been thrown off their feet by the shockwaves.
"Coast is clear boyos. I'mm be damned if that ain't the biggest *****er we ever had tae deal with."
Faust was the first to get to his feet, previously huddling behind Spartacus with his eyes shut tight and his paws over them. When he realized it was all over he quickly leapt up and dusted himself, pretending like nothing had happened despite the snickering from the Machop and Meowth who came back to her side with the Houndour who was now yapping in an obnoxiously noisy at the Onix's unmoving body. Clearly she had not been all that impressed by how her brother weasel had been treated and she was letting the rock snake know despite the fact that he was unconcious to hear her scolding.
"Alright wee lass, that's enough nae." said the girl gently as she pulled the pup away by the scruff of her neck and beckoned for her team to continue down the hallway.
"Hale." The fox wrapped around her shouldrs piped up solemnly.
"Aye Hanni?"
"They will come for us. You know that."
"I know. Just keep yer psychic field wide so we can fgure out where they're comin' from...and hopefully not get blindsided and banjaxed. No tellin' what else might be hidin' around this place..."
