We've got a Nuzlocke thread, but not a monotyping thread. This is a disaster.
Personally, I adore monotyping challenges. I recently started a normal-type one on Crystal, and I'm halfway through a flying-type one on Black. Elesa is not my friend. I've done a fire-type one on Red, which was FUN to start with.
Anyone else like monotyping challenges?

Monotyping, huh? I think there was one waaaay back but it was a result of derailment. ;D Must do as I remember trying to do a Poison only run which was... Different to say the least. Elesa sounds like she'd be an absolute nightmare with Flying only. Can't quite remember where Emolga is caught but that might help... A little... Somewhat. Okay, maybe not at all. >_> In response to your question, I think mono-type challenges are pretty nice actually. Now that each type has a nice sizeable amount of Pokemon it's worthwhile trying it out for all of them. Would've been hell trying to do a Ghost only run in R/B/Y. Out of all the types I can see Water perhaps being pretty easy. Especially with the how many of the blighters there are. D: Grass type weakness can be mopped up pretty easily considering how many can learn Ice moves. Argh, now I really have an itch to start anew. Emulators here I come!

I've just picked up my copy of FireRed, and realised that I started a flying-type run on it ages ago. I'm now trying to evolve my Magikarp into a Gyarados. It's quite addictive.
As far as I can tell, Emolga only shows up after Nimbasa City. My Archeops is doing most of the work at the moment, but it doesn't help that I that there's a bit of a lack of flying-types in Unova. Both Swoobat and Sigilyph are Psychic/Flying, and Unfezant's not as good as Staraptor or Pidgeot.
