Hey folks, thanks to some recent cuts and inactivity, we've decided to, yet again, hold another round of staff employment. Don't think this will be all ribbons and cake though, since there's a fair bit we require out of the staff we choose to take on. So you must read every last line of this post before you even think of copying down the employment form. I'll have a secret word slapped in somewhere, and if you haven't read this carefully, I'll know.
The first thing you need to know is that you have to be a member of the site for three weeks in order to apply. This is to make sure that people actually grasp our moderating style and have some dedication towards the site. It's ideal that you're active, perhaps coming on every day (not totally necessary, but it earns you brownie points!) barring offline issues.
Once you're green-lighted to take the test, a thread will be made in the Test board located in the Announcements with your name. Read everything over carefully and listen to the advice mods give you, because it will help you do well and pass. Once you've completed the test, you will be promoted to Trainee Mod and given a probationary period to perform actual moderation on threads! If you are able to remain active and post often (not for yourself, of course! Your thread takes a back-burner to moderating), you will be notified of your probation period ending and will be promoted to full-time moderator.
At times, moderating can be quite tedious so your commitment will be vital. If you really want to become a staff member, we would really like to stress activity. If you know you can't make at least one post a day or come on daily, make sure you double-check your priorities before applying, since we need active mods to help with the workload.
However, to help ease things up and reward staff for their efforts, we have a Moderator Rewards Scheme in place. For each thread you moderate, you will earn a mod point and after collecting so many, they may be exchanged for some exclusive prizes. Trainee Mods may claim points as well, so don't be afraid to pipe up! Because the Nargacuga is watching you.
The recruitment process occurs in three phases.
Phase 1 A simple application which does not have to be long or fancy. Simply post beneath and address each of the bullet points. Please do more than a few scant sentences though.
- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?

Phase 2 Involves a simple training/probation period to make sure you are familiar with all the roleplaying rules and most importantly understand how our Battle System works. A staff member will arrange a Test if they accept your application. This test will be a learning phase, so don't worry if you make a mistake. You will be guided through the entire process so just do your best.
Phase 3 Finally, once you have completed your test, there will be a short probation period where you will be given the title of Trainee Moderator and a coloured name. You will be allowed to moderate real threads and will be watched closely by our staff team. If you meet the activity requirements and make a good impression, you will then receive your full Moderator status.
Although this is a vigorous recruitment process to ensure that in the future our Moderators are active and possess the vital skills, this should not discourage you in any way from applying. There will be some great opportunities to design some elements of the site. If you have any addition skills, such as graphics, then we'd love to hear from you.
There are numerous benefits other than the rewards scheme. Staff will also receive a free residence/house and will have some inside knowledge about secret events to come. If you have any questions on the topic, feel free to ask one of our Administrators or Global Moderators.

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
Help with the workload I suppose, it's been pretty bad from what I've seen so even if it's a little bit I'd like to help out, especially after my absence during my last employment.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
I'm active enough to pop in and carry on a conversation in the cbox when the moment is right. Aside from a possible holiday job from October to December I honestly doubt much will come up that will occupy any significant stretches of my time.
I've also done a bit of modding here on the past, but it was awhile ago so I am a bit rusty. Finer details aren't that fresh but the general system is still up in my head.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
I've had off and on staff roles before, generally I wasn't anything important however so I suppose it's rather moot there. I have taken up a brief role as a mod here though. Despite what Ultra says however, limited access to the computer/internet and the busy state of other projects kept me from here during that period of time. The time it took me to generally make a mod post also didn't let me do much during what free time I did have.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
I'm afraid I don't, aside from doing some mod posting and maybe providing my opinions you wont get much more out of me.
I don't know why you'd make that watch us though, it'll just yell at us.

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
Hmmm. First of all, i've noticed the huge upturn in members, and really want to help out with that. I'm creative, and unless i'm on a really bad muse day, i'm pretty good at cranking out some posts. The mods are the people i've looked up to since i've gotten here, and have helped me every step of the way. I want to assist people now, and help make their ZZ experience more enjoyable, like you all have done for me.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
Yes. I am active, because I have no life. I'm a college student, but get lots of extra time to troll the internet, which could be used for something much more productive if I were a mod. My work includes me doing nothing, for money, so I can have my computer out. I don't chat in the cox unless i've got an update, people are on, or i'm just really bored, though. I've been here for a few months, so i've got a good grasp of the rules and systems to moderate.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
I've been an admin of a few proboards that lasted a few years, and then died a terrible death. Been a mod on a few, and might be a mod on my other RP site (I only do two at a time so I don't kill myself). I'm good with coding, although I can't make tables or the awesome thing that Sarai and artmage have with their posts. BUT! I have accepted responsibility in the past, and fulfilled my duties to the sites.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
Umm, not particularly. I'm a grammar and spelling Nazi and don't tend to misspell things, and I can do a little drawing (nothing like what Andrew/Art/Scott) can do. I can attempt at things if you wanted, though. I used to do skins, although that was a while back. I'm probably rusty at it, but I could always give it a go (but I like the skin i'm using :3). I'm dependable, punctual, a tyger. Other than mod posts and the occasional 'give-the-cbox-community-a-laugh' story, I'd be just a basic, nice, and plain mod.
Ooo! What is that? It kinda sounds like a puma-thing of some sorts...

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
I love Pokemon. I know that is not enough, but as I have come to know the community more and more here I find this site entertaining, down to earth and fun. You are very creative and I enjoy the Rp that I have here. Also Joey is a hard one to beat and keeps me on my toes which is actually a compliment because a lot of admins or moderators who take it east on people just to keep them around. I have had to work for everything I get on this site, and that is refreshing.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
Yes, and Yes. This is a great system or at least the parts that I do know. I have been a member now for over 3 months and am still loving it. The only thing I honestly don't like is the fact that seasons change to fast, and I am not able to post in different seasons before my earlier season is done, which I understand, but changing seasons so quickly is something I dont particularly like though will work around as a mod.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
In the past I have owned a few and moded a few so yes I do have some experience. At present I actually am working on my own Pokemon site, and promise that it will not get in the way of moding this site, if you allow me to mod here. I just really enjoy Pokemon, and as I actually am quite busy in real life I have to chose which RP's I really want to be a part of, and this and my other Pokemon site are pretty much it. I also have been working on a next gen Harry Potter site, but as I have no help on it I am putting it on the wayside.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
I love working with graphics and concept media. I mainly do banners and the like, but am more than happy to take on a challenge if there are other things that are needed doing around here. But as a note I do like your set up as I have seen it so far, very organized and thought out so that part I do like.

We'll need to talk your application over Zachery. Not to worry, the other two got accepted right away because we were considering them before opening this up, as they expressed an interest some time ago.

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
Well I love the site a lot and I have interesting plots up my sleeve that I think others would enjoy ^^. I've seen people become mods and I really like the connection they get with people. I'd also like to contribute more to the site than just being a member. I really have a lot of faith in the site and how fun it is. The people on this site are all fantastic and I'd love to get to know them better.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
I am an active member, yes. Lately my presence here has been cut down because of school but I will continue being here all the same. I do understand the rules as I've been here quite some time and I believe I will be able to mod threads very well with the understanding of the procedures I have.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
Yes I have. My friend and I made a proboards ourselves but she's the root admin and fell out of it but I continued to write the boards and the areas for roleplay. I have had actual modding experience on Pokemon roleplay sites and have modded a few times now. Although the site isn't active, I still mod when someone posts! I believe I could be a good mod on ZapdosZulu.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
I do little graphic things here and there like the tags I did for a while. I don't do much graphic things like skins but I could give it the old college try! I've been a fan for pokemon for quite some time so I'm pretty savvy with the moves and types advantages/disadvantages. I'm pretty layed back and I usually have pretty good grammar (except in the cbox ^^U). I don't do any art things like Andrew and Art but I have enthusiasm! I am a pretty nice person but I know how to enforce rules when necessary.

Moderator Application Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?Pokemon is my favorite thing since I was a kid. I have been quite obsessed with it and now that I have learnt the art of role playing I would like to help out ZapdosZulu and become a Moderator again to help the community. I have been a Moderator before on ZapdosZulu and didn't prove I was suited for the job, but time has passes since then and I have been thinking deeply about whether or not I am up to becoming a Moderator again. I feel with a second chance to become a Moderator I can prove that my last run was quite disgusting and awful. I have come back from overseas and feel refreshed and ready to roleplay again. With this motivation I think I can help out ZapdosZulu by Moderating Threads and helping members along and different types of Moderating activities that need to be done on a daily basis. Plus I basically love ZapdosZulu and can't let go of the site. Sure I have been on many other pokemon roleplay sites. But ZZ is the only place I have yet to leave. This site is fun to be around and the community is lovely. I would like to help out and become more friendly with other role players and staff and get to know them better and help the site grow to even greater heights. Being a Member is fun and all, but with Moderating comes responsibility, I feel I have faith in myself and if you the staff are willing to follow my faith then I will be extremely happy. Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?I have been an active member of this site many times, I have had a two week holiday overseas and lost a bit of activity then. But now I am back and starting to roleplay again I feel my activity will be rising. I have understanding of the rules and procedures of the site and I think I have the capability and knowledge to give members a great sense of happiness from having another Mod around that can try out his skills again and become more attached to the site. Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?Well. First of all I was a previous Moderator on ZapdosZulu, until I was sadly demoted for my lack of activity. I have also been a Moderator on Pokemon Cheyenne Region, Pokemon R.T.C and Pokemon Erinuki. I am currently a Moderator still on Pokemon Erinuki but feel my activity and love for the site had almost depleted. That is quite the same with the other sites, except for ZapdosZulu. Which I still have faith in. Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?I am actually trying to improve my spriting skills. I have been taking up Trainer Sprites which should help out new members and even the veterans. I have also been practicing a bit more animation and have been trying to work on making Avatars. These art type skills should help develop the community in it's artistic range and I think with my roleplay skills getting better as time goes by I can help out members with bigger and better replies that involve creativity and have a bit of fun to it.

^ No. I've stressed before that activity is a huge deal for moderators. I haven't even seen you on the site for a fairly long time and that doesn't include your vacation. So I am not going to allow you to take the test, especially since you're a bit late and the last person sitting it will be Umbreon. Tough luck.
Umbreon, your test will be set up momentarily. Do your best ~
