A FARFETCH'D CHASE

Oh yes... this bed of dried, crisp leaves were just so refreshing. The air was slightly chilled, but wrapped up in the leaf pile just so warm and cozy! The smell of the decaying leaves was also a refreshing breath of fresh air, all natural. A big wiff in, then an exhale. Aww yeah... so much more comfortable than being in a Pokeball. And it was a well hidden spot, too! For the little Quilava, curled up like a ball in these leaves, it was a slice of pie known as paradise.

Then, suddenly, he heard something approaching him slowly. Raising his head in a groggy, unamused manner, he sought ahead and saw the brown duck. It was glaring at Richie, angry, raising its leek menacingly. Any moment now, it was going to bring that razor sharp plant down onto Richie's head, for whatever reason was unknown to the Quilava.

"QUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIL!!!"

Not the type to reason, prefer to let his fists do the talking (metaphorically speaking), Richie wasted not a moment to even call for help or inform the others. Taking matters into his own paws, he just opened up wide and let loose a jetstream of fire from his maws, a terrific example of Flamethrower. He didn't care what this Farfetch'd was doing, if it wanted to ***** around with his nap time, it was going to be its head!

NOBODY MESSES WITH NAP TIME. NOBODY.

Squawking in surprise at the loud cry which radiated from the slumbering Quilava's mouth, the Farfetch'd spread open it's wings and fluttered back a pace or two for safety. Well, he was in a bit of a pickle now, the sleeping Quilava had blocked off it's only escape back to the underground burrow and now it had to make sure that it wasn't turned into a roast duck, even though it was far too late to avoid that fate either way. The brown avian hobbled about from webbed foot to webbed foot nervously as Richie rolled onto his feet, a look of great disappointment and anger stretched across his small face, the flames which ran down his body flickering in a violent manner.

Gulping, the Farfetch'd wanted to turn and run the other way but he knew very well that the female trainer and her group of Pokemon were still hanging around somewhere within the brown wilderness, if only he had stayed in the safety of his tree! It was far too late to contemplate his decisions, the real threat before the Farfetch'd was something it should really be keeping it's eye on. Opening it's snarled snout, Richie summoned a burst of fire which trailed through the air, the mixture of red, oranges and yellows all blurring together to become one huge bright wave of danger. Being completely engulfed by the hell fire the smell of bird, leek and singed feathers blew along the breeze, there was surely no way that it could still stand after such a powerful move.

Amazingly though, it was. As the blast of flames drew to a halt, the Farfetch'd was still left standing, incredibly confused and burnt to a crisp but still on it's feet. Bit by bit the bird's head crunched downward to take a good look at itself and more importantly it's prized leek. How dare it! The leek was it's one and only possession in life and now it had turned into a cooked vegetable that was more than ready to be eaten. Grumbling at the thought of having to find another, the Farfetch'd cried out angrily and tossed it forward in a fit of rage, striking Richie straight across the face.

A ***** slap in the face with a leek. My, that was quite the embarrassing thing to have happen. That measly twig really did sting as Richie put up a paw to his face and dug his forearm right into it. Yeah, it may look like something delicious to munch on, but that stupid thing just really stung like a paper cut! Fortunately, it wasn't something that Richie wouldn't be able to survive. He was fine and after licking the wound as best he could, flames burned within his eyes as he glared at the Farfetch'd.

"Richie, did you find something?"

Nadia wasn't completely oblivious to the world around her. She figured from the start that Richie would just slink off and do his own little thing: he always has. But when she heard him cry out and saw a stream of flame just shooting through the forest, it was just instinctual for her to come running. Alongside her, Chuchu and Cheeky were there as well. They all watched closely as the battle between the Farfetch'd and Quilava unfolded.

"Quil! Quil quil qui quil quilquilquilquiQUILQUILQUILUIL!"

Getting his sense's back to him after being slapped in the face with a leek, Richie started to run circles around the duck, building up a lot of speed. He was trying to confuse the bird in his agility run, before finally quickly stopping behind its back and charging. He lept into the air, curled up into a ball like a hedgehog, and spun rapidly. Fire soon just exploded around his body, engulfing him completely in a blazing inferno. He liked to play around, but only on his own time. When he was angry, this little Quilava just meant business and he showed it now with his Flame Wheel!

Feeling a bit hot under the feathers after that blast of flames, things didn't seem to be getting any easier than it already was as the sound of approaching footsteps crunched against the dry leaves scattered along the earth. Peering over the tip of his beak, it seemed that help was arriving on the Quilava's side and even though Richie held some sort of control over the situation, there was no way the avian would be able to out run all of them with it's loss of energy and prized leek. Looking as his sizzled vegetable with nothing but regret plastered across his face, the Pokemon was able to carry on with that one thought; to avenge his leek.

Dragging it's webbed feet along the ground like some sort of Tauros which was about to burst into a fit of rage, the little duck wasn't quite as terrifying as it hoped to be, storming along the ground rather cutely with it's outstretched wings. But being one step ahead, Richie too had his feet crank into motion. Prancing around in a circular motion around the Farfetch'd, his speed only grew faster, leaves rising up into the air and being completely frazzled as a mini hurricane-like wave of fire erupted into the air, burning a hole in the ground as well as finishing off the Farfetch'd completely.

Richie the Quilava gained 2 levels for his victory and grew to Level 24!
