Pikachu, Sceptile, Infernape, Snorlax, Muk and Pidgeot. Back-ups: Roggenrola, Gible, Glalie, Scraggy, Noctowl and Donphan.
Ash just isn't going anywhere without Pikachu. And I'm pretty sure he was never a pichu. Trough they may have had some designs of the second generation in the first generation (Ho-oh proves that) I'm very sure they just had Pikachu as Pikachu.

i dont mean in by design i mean in an anime aspect. they never really made this aspect happen in the anime when pokemon hatch, do they start out in baby aspects like pichu or do some start out in evolved form like pikachu and if so why ?

unlikely he was every a pichu, based on his happiness. He started out as a very unhappy pika. Also, the anime also showed a baby pikachu in one episode, so most likely that aspect of breeding and eggs simply didn't exist yet. And in one of the movies, Mewtwo returns, we see that some of the fully evolved Pokemon have babies, and they just look like baby version of the fully evolved parent. I don't think they gave it much toughed on why. Since Pika was so popular, they may have added a baby form for it in Gen 2, to add to it's popularity. Just saying, Ash's Phanpy hatched as a fully grown Phanpy, while on several times we saw some babies in fully evolved hatched form. I don't think they gave it much tough. Just look at the big number of anime error's on moves. Also, the anime just differs a lot from the games Click
