♥Guile Vytol♥
Name:
Guile Vytol
Age:
16
Gender:
Male
Trainer Type:
Guile is a typical run-of-the-mill trainer, and dreams of becoming a "Guardian" to all Pokemon.
Hometown:
Fortree City, Hoenn/Ecruteak City, Johto
Appearance:
Guile is a tall, slender young man, standing at about six-foot-one. He is pale, without any sort of tan lines, and has a lean build with defined, but not bulky, muscle. His hair is a soft pink colour and has a layered, medium length cut. It shapes his face and jaw and often falls into his light yellow eyes. His face is narrow and handsome, with soft, unblemished skin and thin eyebrows. He has a quiet, gentle look most of the time, but can seem quite dark and scary when angered.
Guile's clothing is stylish, but simple and comfortable, able to keep him warm and protect him from the elements without becoming too heavy and hot.
He wears a forest green tee shirt with a low cut collar that shows off his collarbones and a bit of his upper chest. A darker green heart symbol made out of smaller squares is printed on the lower left side of his abdomen.
Over his shirt, he wears a white a black hoodie. It's main body is white with black edges and two black stripes running down it's outer arms. The back part of his hood is also black, connecting with the white in a jagged, uneven way. On his back is a heart print with three layers, pink at the outer rim, green as the middle layer, and a black center. Black spikes jut out from the heart.
The edge of his sleeves are cut off by his gauntlet style gloves. The gauntlets extend about five inches up his arm. They're black with pink lining and stripes, and are fitting with a black strap around his wrist. Part of the cuff reaches to cover a bit of the back of his hand, which has a pink disk-like accessory attached to the black material. White dots are on each of his knuckles, and pink hearts are printed on the first part of his fingers. The front of his fingers are white, and a similar disk is attached to his palm, which is white and forest-green striped. He wears a two-fingered rectangular ring over his left little and ring fingers.
He wears semi-tight black skinny jeans, with two pink stripes going down it's outer legs. They're a little different style than normal. They only have one pocket on the front, which is located on his left thigh just below his groin. It zips shut with a pink zipper, and he uses it to carry his Pokedex. On the back, a pink heart print covers his right behind pocket. His jeans are held up by a pink and black striped belt with a similar style to his tie and a white buckle. On his left hip hangs a chain from his belt.
On his head, wears a black beanie with the excess material folded up so it shapes his head without getting in the way of his vision. It partially hides the headphones, which are green with a white rim and black pads, he wears under them, only part of the cover showing out from under it and past his hair.
His shoes are basic running shoes. Their main colour is black, with pink heals and white laces and rubber on the bottom.
On his chest is a metal charm similar to the symbol on his back except with an extra layer and an alternating pink and black design, pink being on the outside, black being the core. It's sharp and dangerous, and can actually be used as a tool if needed, but is very difficult to handle except for holding the small bar on the back meant to keep it warping. It gets in his way when he's wearing his backpack, so he'll often take it off of his jacket and attach it to his bag instead.
His backpack is a simple black and forest-green hiker's backpack with his camouflage sleeping bag attached.
Personality:
Guile is a good-natured, friendly person. He is kind and respectful to everyone he meets until they give him a reason not to. He is always willing to step out of his way to help someone, no matter how much in inconveniences him. Stubborn as a bull, he'll never back down from a challenge, or give up on something half-way. He's also reliable and trust-worthy person; he would do anything he could to help or protect his friends and would never turn on them.
Guile does have a bit of a dark side, however. He's quick to anger, especially when it involves someone hurting Pokemon. He hates it when people look down on him, or are mean to him, and will immediately start acting cold and short to anyone who does so. When pushed too far, he's not afraid to throw a punch.
Typically, he'll keep himself bottled up. Although he has endless energy and a lust for adventure, he has a good control over it, and will usually just seem warm and calm, displaying a warm smile. He also keeps the negative part of him bottled up as well. He doesn't admit to being afraid or paranoid of things.
He's developed a strong sense of paranoia, and is always on his toes. He's alert to his surroundings. Although it keeps him from relaxing, his paranoia does not rule his life. He's not suspicious of people, only the environment, which for a Pokemon trainer, it helps keep him safe from bother natural accidents and attacks.
The only time he relaxes is when there's music, whether he's making it or listening to it. During this time, he relies on others to keep him safe. He's quick to trust, which opens him up to getting easily hurt, but it also opens the opportunity to build good relationships with others.
He loves Pokemon, and sees them as living beings, not tools or even “partners.” They are his friends, and he wouldn't force a Pokemon to battle if it didn't want to. He hopes his Pokemon battle because they want to fight for him, not because they feel obligated to do so because they are his Pokemon.
History:
Guile was originally born to a pair of scientists who worked at the Weather Institute just outside Fortree City, where they had a home. From an early age, Guile learned to love and appreciate Pokemon and nature, more than his parents. He was often confused as to why his parents and the other scientists wanted to control nature, but never gave it too much mind. He stayed active playing with the Pokemon in Fortree City, and became good friends with the Kecleon there.
When he was four years old, he first saw Castform, a Pokemon created by the Weather Scientists. He was both sad and amazed by the creature. He didn't understand why these scientists strove to control things they shouldn't, and he was saddened that they had put a creature into the world only to be alone as a test subject, the only one of its kind.
He took it upon himself to become Castform's companion, and spent most of his time at the Weather Institute playing with it, wanting to give it a friend. The scientists allowed it, since Guile had no intentions of interfering with their project.
After a few years, however, Castform's artificial life started to wear down. The scientists had miscalculated how much “life” the Castform needed to live for a long time, and less than two years after Guile and Castform met, Guile took Castform to a secret, peaceful place and watched his best friend's life fade.
After that, Guile's energy faded. The young, energetic and adventurous boy was replaced by a zombie that looked at everything with a sad expression. He couldn't go anywhere without being reminded of Castform.
Eventually, his parents decided Guile needed a change if he was to ever recover. They left the Weather Institute and decided to travel with Guile. It helped. Guile soon recovered from his depression, but never forgot Castform. He kept the pictures of him and Castform close to him, and would often sleep with one under his pillow in hopes that Castform would visit him in his dreams.
About a year of traveling (and many adventures, one of which started Guile off on an obsession with Sableye) had passed when Guile's parents met with a team of archeologists on their way to Johto. His parents scientific curiosity was perked when the archeologists mentioned the Ruins of Alph. Although they were not archeologists, they joined the team in hopes of learning and aiding the expedition.
All went well at the beginning. They left Hoenn and arrived in Johto, where they set up base at the Ruins of Alph. Guile's parents quickly learned the skills of archeology and aided in the expedition. During that time, Guile got nervous. He would see things move out of the corners of his eyes, and got a strange, eerie sense he couldn't explain. None of this was helped by the creepy radio stations that played within the area. However, he hid all this from his parents and the other archeologists, not wanting to make his parents give up their new love.
After a few weeks, Guile calmed. He still felt paranoid, but he coped by spending as much time as he could away from the Ruins and with the Pokemon of the nearby areas. It became a routine. Guile would stay awake at night reading to keep his mind calm, then leave first thing in the morning after breakfast and packing lunch to sleep away from the ruins, spending the rest of the day until sundown playing with the Pokemon.
One day, something odd happened. A mean-spirited Pokemon stole Guile's lunch while he slept, so he was forced to return to the Ruins to eat with the team. However, he was met with panic and chaos. Somehow, the ruins had caved in on themselves, trapping his parents and several other archeologists.
Although the others tried to stop him, warning him the ruins might still collapse more, he raced inside only to find his parents crushed under rock, only knowing it was them by an arm protruding out from the rubble with his father's wedding ring.
Horror struck, Guile didn't even notice the Ruins starting to collapse again. By the time he realized and tried to escape, the entrance had already been blocked. Around him, the Ruins were still collapsing, forcing him further into them until he was completely isolated from the outside world. Scared and upset, he curled up and cried.
The Unown of the Ruins tried to come to the aid of the poor child they sensed so much despair from, but instead of being relieved to see company, Guile blamed the Unown for what had happened. He threw bits of rock and spat curses at them, too upset to realize how he was acting. The Unown left him alone, but continued to watch him, even eventually managing to use their powers to alter reality to provide him food, water, and warmth when he became too desperate.
For almost a year, he was trapped in the Ruins. What became of the other archeologists, he didn't know, but he lost hope of them coming to rescue him. He managed to survive with the aid of the Unown, and eventually accepted their presence, secretly appreciating them without realizing they knew how he truly felt. For a child, he was very mature. Having seen death before, he never wished for his parents to be alive again, or anything he knew wouldn't happen. He knew they were gone, and that acceptance kept the Unown from creating a crazy fantasy for him. Strangely, he never wished to be free, either. After all, he had nothing on the outside either.
Eventually, he did manage to get out. After a while, his childish curiosity returned to him, and he began exploring the Ruins, which led to another exit that even the archeologists didn't know about. When he found it, he was torn on whether to leave or not. The Unown would not leave with him, and although he never admitted out loud, he'd grown to like them. Somehow, he could sense their sadness at the thought he might leave, but he could also sense they wanted him to do what was best for himself. They had learned from him that friends were not selfish, and did what was best for their friends.
So Guile left.
He wandered for a few days, having no idea where he was or where he was going. He already had decent survival knowledge, so he was able to rest and eat comfortably in the forest that he stuck to, rather afraid to go onto the main path.
Eventually, he wandered into Ecruteak City, where the people welcomed him and took care of him. He didn't tell them much, only that his parents were gone and he had no where else to go.
Guile became attached to Ecruteak City and chose to stay there. He loved the peaceful nature of the city, despite it's large size, and he loved the history of the place. He lived with the Kimono Girls, who were a few years older than him and seemed to like the “mysterious little pink haired boy.” Although he sometimes practiced with them, he got embarrassed when they suggested he performed with them.
After a while, Guile settled into a peaceful way of life. He continued living with the Kimono Girls; learned about the history of not only the city, but the Pokemon world itself from the elders; watched Morty and other Pokemon trainers battle; practiced martial arts and how to play the flute; helping out at the Pokemon Center; and played with Pokemon of the surrounding area. Often, he'd suffer from nightmares and anxiety, but he ignored it all.
For the most part, life was peaceful. However, when he was fourteen he had his first encounter with Team Rocket. It was only a single Grunt with a Geodude bullying a Pokemon trainer and his Pokemon, but the action enraged Guile. He watched them beat up the poor Trainer's Pokemon, even going so far as to kick it when it had already been defeated in battle. Guile went off on them. Without a Pokemon, he couldn't battle, so instead he confronted the Grunt. The man underestimated him, not taking the fight or Guile seriously while Guile was completely serious. Guile managed to get the better of him and scare him off. He was thanked by the Trainer as he attended to the wounds of their Pokemon. When asked if he wanted anything in return for saving them, Guile only asked to take a photograph with them, having become attached to photographs as “memories.” They were a way for him to remember the people in his past that he would never meet again.
After that day, Guile started to become aware that not everyone was good to Pokemon; some, like Team Rocket, were downright evil. He vowed he'd help protect Pokemon from evil humans, and become like a “Guardian” to them, and defeat Team Rocket, which was nothing but a group of evil humans who hurt Pokemon.
After that, everything settled again for the most part, and before he knew it, he was fifteen, soon to be sixteen. The sun had already set, and Guile was just wandering around before returning home for dinner. He encountered a Growlithe on the road, and it stared at him for a moment before running off. Curious, Guile followed it, which the Growlithe seemed to have wanted. It lead him into the Burned Tower, and although it was dangerous, he ignored previous warnings he'd been given.
The Growlithe lead him the the edge of the massive hole at the center of the first floor. However, burned and rotting wood gave way under their feet and they plummeted down into the basement. The Growlithe injured its leg, but Guile managed to survive with only a few bruises and scratches. Concerned for the Pokemon, he tried attending to its leg, but it directed his attention to what was in front of them. When Guile looked up, he saw Raikou standing in the middle of the basement, watching them.
As if in a trance, Guile stood and approached Raikou, who stood unmoving. Raikou appeared almost like a statue to him, and Guile hesitantly reached out to touch the crest on its head. At the last moment, mere centimeters away from Raikou, Guile drew back and stepped away. Raikou then nodded and disappeared in a flash of lighting. In a near trance-like state, Guile went to the Pokemon Center where Nurse Joy treated the Growlithe. Although it would live, it would never return to the way it was before, having shattered the bones in it's leg.
The next few months passed in a blur for Guile. He spent a lot of time with the Growlithe, often staring out into space thinking of Raikou. He told no one else of his encounter, and felt a close connection to the Growlithe that shared the experience with him. Even his sixteenth birthday was of little importance to him.
Morty sensed Guile was holding something back from everyone, and approached him. Never had he approached Guile before that point. They were good acquaintances, one could say, but their relationship was just Guile hanging around him.
Morty suggested Guile should get a Pokemon of his own, and start a journey to collect Gym Badges like the trainers that came to Ecruteak City. He told Guile about New Bark Town, where he could go get a Pokemon of his own and start a journey.
Guile quickly became eager to do so. He had loved traveling with his parents before the accident, and if he traveled, it was possible he could meet all kinds of fantastic Pokemon and even encounter Raikou again.
After less than a week, he was prepared to leave and said his goodbyes to the people who had become his family over the years, leaving the Growlithe he'd befriended with the Kimono Girls, before he left for New Bark Town.
Goals:
For most of his life, Guile didn't have any goals, or even know what he was going to do with his life. He was just going with the flow, without any parents to give him some sort of direction. His adopted family didn't know what direction to push him in, so they hoped he would find his own way.
After his encounter with Team Rocket, Guile decided he wanted to become a Guardian to all Pokemon, and defeat Team Rocket, although he really didn't know how to do it. Morty was the one to push him in the direction of being a Pokemon trainer and going to collect Gym Badges. Guile always respected Morty greatly, so decided he would do what Morty suggested, hoping eventually he'd become as strong as Morty and be able to face and defeat him in battle.
Secretly, Guile also wants to meet Raikou again. The Legendary Beast fascinated him, and he wanted to learn more about it, and even become it's friend and partner.
He also has a small obsession with Sableye, and eventually wants to capture one.

How did you find us?:
Was looking for a good Roleplay site when I found a “Top Roleplaying Sites” list that listed a Pokemon RP site called Hyren, but when Googling it, all I found was a bunch of advertisements for it, one of which had been posted here. So curiosity struck and I decided to poke around.
