Hey folks, thanks to some recent cuts and inactivity, we've decided to, yet again, hold another round of staff employment. Don't think this will be all ribbons and cake though, since there's a fair bit we require out of the staff we choose to take on. So you must read every last line of this post before you even think of copying down the employment form. I'll have a secret word slapped in somewhere, and if you haven't read this carefully, I'll know.
The first thing you need to know is that you have to be a member of the site for three weeks in order to apply. This is to make sure that people actually grasp our moderating style and have some dedication towards the site. It's ideal that you're active, perhaps coming on every day (not totally necessary, but it earns you brownie points!) barring offline issues.
Once you're green-lighted to take the test, a thread will be made in the Test board located in the Announcements with your name. Read everything over carefully and listen to the advice mods give you, because it will help you do well and pass. Once you've completed the test, you will be promoted to Trainee Mod and given a probationary period to perform actual moderation on threads! If you are able to remain active and post often (not for yourself, of course! Your thread takes a back-burner to moderating), you will be notified of your probation period ending and will be promoted to full-time moderator.
At times, moderating can be quite tedious so your commitment will be vital. If you really want to become a staff member, we would really like to stress activity. If you know you can't make at least one post a day or come on daily, make sure you double-check your priorities before applying, since we need active mods to help with the workload.
However, to help ease things up and reward staff for their efforts, we have a Moderator Rewards Scheme in place. For each thread you moderate, you will earn a mod point and after collecting so many, they may be exchanged for some exclusive prizes. Trainee Mods may claim points as well, so don't be afraid to pipe up! Because the Nargacuga is watching you.
The recruitment process occurs in three phases.
Phase 1 A simple application which does not have to be long or fancy. Simply post beneath and address each of the bullet points. Please do more than a few scant sentences though.
- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
- If you read this, tell me what the secret word is.

Phase 2 Involves a simple training/probation period to make sure you are familiar with all the roleplaying rules and most importantly understand how our Battle System works. A staff member will arrange a Test if they accept your application. This test will be a learning phase, so don't worry if you make a mistake. You will be guided through the entire process so just do your best.
Phase 3 Finally, once you have completed your test, there will be a short probation period where you will be given the title of Trainee Moderator and a coloured name. You will be allowed to moderate real threads and will be watched closely by our staff team. If you meet the activity requirements and make a good impression, you will then receive your full Moderator status.
Although this is a vigorous recruitment process to ensure that in the future our Moderators are active and possess the vital skills, this should not discourage you in any way from applying. There will be some great opportunities to design some elements of the site. If you have any addition skills, such as graphics, then we'd love to hear from you.
There are numerous benefits other than the rewards scheme. Staff will also receive a free residence/house and will have some inside knowledge about secret events to come. If you have any questions on the topic, feel free to ask one of our Administrators or Global Moderators.

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu? Well just like my other applications to help out with the moderating on here since I know at times there are a lot of threads that needed replies which I know I would be able to help with as I have modding experience in my house plus the 1 time I modded as a trainee and then my brother drove me crazy and I just could not concentrate which you guys do not know how sorry I was in not being able to mod last time around. I also know a little bit of graphics stuff so I could help out if a picture ever needed to be edited or something of that regard. Another reason being that if I were to become a mod I feel as if it would help boost my skill level with both my own threads as well as replies in my house which a few mods already said were pretty nice as they were already.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads? Yes minus the time away after my brother drove me insane I have been pretty active overall. I am still very sorry that I missed all that time thanks to him but things have become a lot better than they were back then so now I am able to give it another go so long as the staff is willing to give me another chance since this time I will be able to give it my all.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past? I was a Trainee mod although I only replied to 1 thread again thanks to my ***** of a brother who drove me insane but besides that I have modded my house here for quite some time and have gained quite a bit of experience involving modding threads even if I have made a few mistakes along the way I have been getting slowly but surely better at it.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site? A little bit of graphics and website design. A little bit of German but I doubt that would be useful unless you guys added a fan character who spoke that then I may be able to help a little bit. I know quite a bit about breeding pokemon hence why I am interested in the nursery and would be able to help with anything involving it. I am sure there are other things but for now these are those that just popped into my head.
- If you read this, tell me what the secret word is.I am pretty sure it is vital as it was italicized but I did see a few other words they may be it if that is not correct

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
-The main reason I want to mod around here at ZZ is to give back to a great community. The mods, admins, and players here at ZapdosZulu have been so wonderful, even from the moment I popped on to the Chatango box to say "Duuhr, what's going on?" From helping me get a hang of the system, to helping me get my Psychic character approved, I've really loved the care and friendliness I've been met with here, and I very much want to try to give something back. If I can help others enjoy their roleplaying experience half as much as the staff here, I'll be happy. I also really enjoy the idea of being able to come up with storylines, if that's the kind of thing you'd allow here! I think that my competence with vocabulary and love of Pokémon would very much help me become an asset to ZapdosZulu.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
-I'm on here at least every day (barring the occasional social engagement or holiday), and generally multiple times per day. I'm becoming active in social threads as well as modded ones, now that I've gotten to know some of the folks around here. I do indeed feel fairly competent with the rules and procedures, and have a bit of experience with a similar system.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
-I only have experience modding at one site, and it was a blast to do so. Unfortunately, just over a month ago, the site started dying down and has crawled to a near stop. The system was similar to ZZ's, however, and I became quite comfortable with it. I loved making storylines for individual characters, as partially mentioned above, and would relish the chance to do so again.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
-The only real skill I have that would relate to the site at all would be a fledgeling interest in digital art. I've been drawing and writing my entire life, but digitally, I'm quite inexperienced. However, as I learn, I would be more than happy to apply my knowledge and help whenever possible! Other than that, though, I'm a very personable guy. I'm social, and I love talking with people!
- If you read this, tell me what the secret word is.
-I'm pretty sure Nargacuga knows all. -Also, on a side note, I know that the site I modded on was modeled after ZZ. That's one of the reasons it was so easy for me to get into the concept of modding over there

That's not quite the word March, but since your time was cut short in the past I'll go ahead and enable you as a trainee, no need to worry about retaking the entire test.
As for you, Kris, your posts are always entertaining to read so hopefully that carries over into mod work. Look for your test thread to be up momentarily.

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
I really enjoy this site. I have been here a while now and have come to really enjoy this site. I applied for a job as a mod last October and was turned down. I know that maybe you see something in me that just does not fit for this site, and if that is the case then just tell me. But I really understand and realize that you guys could use help with moderating on this site, and would be willing to at least put a bit extra time into helping you with this task if you are interested.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
I believe I do yes. It is something I would have to reread and keep up with, but I am happy to do this not to mention it would be a good way to keep me up on the rules of the site.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past? I have had a few sites in the past, and have other roleplay sites that I do participate in from time to time.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site? I am happy to be an idea bouncer, but I do not have the time to design or anything like that. But I can help build threads or events if it is needed.
- If you read this, tell me what the secret word is.
I read through this three times and Nargacuga this word seems to be the only one that does not fit as I do not know what it is. But I did not see any other words out of place or hidden word.

I know I probably won't get it since no one here likes me, and I was away for a few months this past year, but I figured I'd try anyway. If I don't get it, oh well, I can try again in a few months from now. - Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
I am a very active member and a great judge of character. I can spot errors in a flash and can be very active and fast to respond to threads. I believe I can help make the forum more active, by my modding. I promise not to let the power go to my head again like I did when I used to have an account here before. I was still new to rping back then after all.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
Yes, I do. I understand completely the rules, and will follow them and be a very fateful Mod to the forum and work hard.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
I have been a staff member of this forum under a different account, before. This may ruin my chances of staff but I believe to be staff I should be truthful. Yes, I was Konekodemon here once and a staff member, but lost my staff powers then. But that was so many years ago, I don't even remember what I did wrong.
But hey, what better person to be staff then someone who used to be staff. At least you know I'll be able to do my job. I think that was almost 5 years ago when that happened as well. So I don't think this should be held against me.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
I am starting to get pretty good with graphics and could make a few banners and buttons and work on skins as well, if you've let me. I love making graphics and will work hard at it if given the chance to do graphics for the forum.
- If you read this, tell me what the secret word is.

- Why do you want to be a Moderator at ZapdosZulu?
Well when I first saw this I gave a lot of thought about if I wanted to apply and the truth is I decided that I didn’t want to apply mainly it just didn’t feel right and I told tyger a while back I had no interest in being a mod…but after much more thought on the matter I realized that what I felt was fear of rejection so I thought, damn it pull yourself together and apply. Here’s my answer to the question, I want to be a moderator at HG&SS because I am a friendly and compassionate person I look at things fairly and I believe that I can be a great asset to the site. I just want to help people on the site & help the current staff members too, with them being so over worked they probably had little time to work on their own character advancements so I guess I just want to give a little back.
- Are you an active member of this site and do you have some understanding of the rules and procedures of the site to be able to moderate threads?
Do I even need to dignify this with an answer… the deal is I am extremely active almost hyper active really I post as soon as I am given a post, i am on the site pretty much every day for hours at a time on occasions…. Sorry I just had the awkward moment when I realized I had no life. The only days when im not on during the day is wed, fri and Saturday because I do volunteer work at the salvation army from 9 to 1. But once I finish volunteer work I do come onto the site.
- Have you had any past experience as a staff member on another roleplaying site or have you taken up a role of responsibility in the past?
In the past I have had experience with rpgs, mostly twilight stuff, the things I did was enforce the rules and bitchslap ban trouble makers which thankfully was few. I did Q & A stuff answering questions and working on plots and site events. I also added new topics and forum boards too.
- Do you have any additional skills that could be useful in developing the site?
** Gfx just check my store, i can't make skins but i can make banners and such when requested and since its site work i am willing to do it pro bono for the site... ** a twisted unique & creative mind ** People skills ** Knowledge of proboards groups meaning I know how to lock topics and such
- If you read this, tell me what the secret word is.
Wow Nargacuga…watching you sounds kind of stalkerish, but I know what your saying is vital to the message you’re trying to spread

While I appreciate the interest, with Sarai and March coming back on board and Kris added to the ranks, we're set for now. Apologies ~
