- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - "What wonder love can be! I feel as if I could move the very oceans for you, my beauty!"
Astraea's eye twitched as she regarded the Oshawott kneeling before her, eyes twinkling as they took her in. She honestly didn't mind Blu, and having such attention lavished on her was incredibly flattering, but he could be so weird at times. Especially right now when they were out in the cold, freezing slowly as their trainer fought to extricate himself from a crowd of squealing females.
Despite being pleased at the recognition, Ashton regretted stopping to chat with the girls, who seemed to want to drag him off for a fun night. Astraea sighed deeply and faced the gaggle, huffing loudly and blowing a mighty stream of bubbles at their legs. One let out a girly squeak but made no attempt to leave, still giggling in a shrill voice. Irritated, the scowling Squirtle turned to June, who was perched on a bench behind her.
"I know we're not the best of friends, but do us all a favour and see if you can get rid of those harpies! It's too cold for this garbage..." Astraea implored, her dark-brown eyes not flashing with intense dislike for the brown hawk for once. June regarded the request and dipped her head, spreading her wings. "If we remain out here longer, my wings may very well freeze solid. And I do love causing a bit of mischief here and there myself."
The Spearow lifted off the bench and circled around the heads of the girls, catching Ashton's attention. He struggled against a raven-haired girl trying futilely to plant a kiss on his cheek, not used to having to fend fans off on his own. Normally he had bodyguards for that, or someone, but not here. His Pokémon would have to do that job for him. June let out a coarse cry and dropped down, buffeting the girls and tangling their hair with her wings and talons.
With shrieks of disgust, pain and fear the group dispersed, thoroughly harassed by June. Her squawks erased any hope for the stragglers who wanted to stay around a little longer. Ashton smoothed his ruffled hair and staggered over to the bench, collapsing on it with a loud sigh. "Sorry you lot. I didn't expect that sort of reaction," Ashton said to his Pokémon, looking utterly exhausted.
Blu managed to pull himself up on the bench and stared at his trainer with a bemused expression. "But it is only natural! Those not born in the spotlight flock to us like Mothim to light, captivated by us and how brilliantly we shine." The Oshawott nodded to himself, pleased with his words. Ashton reached over and ruffled the otter's head, not understanding what Blu said at all.
After a few more moments he rose up, picking up Blu and Astraea to let ride on his shoulders. Both were light enough to carry, thankfully. June flew along after Ashton as he headed cautiously into town, stopping at the Pokémon Center before departing to a hotel he'd booked under a fake name, resting up for the night. After a hurried breakfast, the model wandered back outside and made a bee-line for Route 30, not wanting to relive last night's experience.
"I never thought I'd ever crave peace and quiet," Ashton mused to himself, watching June fly lazily around, circling above the frost-painted grasses. Astraea sat beside him on a tree stump, yawning widely. She was still cold, but the sun was nice and warm despite the icy-covered scenery stretched out before them. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Despite how frosty Route 30 was encrusted today, it wasn't too much of a deterrence to the plethora of varied Pokemon species that roamed the lands as part of their natural habitat. This too incurred a great deal of trainers who were brave enough to adventure out in the frosty plains in order to catch a glimpse of what sort of rarities were going about their business. Had Ashton progressed too much further ahead he would have inevitably been swarmed with a legion of battle crazed trainers looking to duke out their 'impressive' Pokemon against a complete stranger to them. The model's choice to instead wait around with his Pokemon had ensured that they would all come across a rare sight indeed. By the stump they were hanging out by was a part of the route that dipped off into the beautiful, albeit freezing looking sea. What was so attention grabbing was the large formation of jagged rocks that jutted out of the ocean and seemed to act as a barrier of sorts into a shallower area of the beach. One that eventually led off into a partially submerged forest of sorts, the roots of all the trees blanketed by a mere splashing of water gifted by the ocean waves. While Ashton may not have been all clued up on the customs of Cherrygrove, this was in fact a government sanctioned preservation of sorts that was put in place in order to protect the dwindling number of Quagsire that once took up a large bulk of the population in the area. Poaching, training and general tourism to the area had meant that they were severely decimated in number. Curbing a great deal of poaching and hot headed trainers severely injuring them, the preservation act was deemed a definitive success. The tourism however wasn't curtailed as much as people would have hoped, with the odd sight seer tossing all sorts of garbage into the pond like clearing that had been devised. Thankfully though, the Quagsire of Route 30 weren't the most bold of creatures and preferred to shy away under the depths of the water, collecting whatever weird trinkets that would be thrown their way. There was the odd occasion however where the Quagsire would be drawn to distinct personalities in which they deemed them pure or enticing enough. Considering Ashton's showiness, it wasn't too unbelievable to realise how excited the secretive Quagsire had become. With the group fussing over who should be the one to converse with the fabled trainer, a rather uppity Quagsire ascended to the top of a flat rock which was near enough centred at the hat of the preservation. Waddling around on the spot and clapping its fin like hands together, the Pokemon was doing all it could to attract Ashton and his merry band of Pokemon over. Wanting to engage with him, the Quagsire was hoping it could learn from the male. Encounter
A protected Quagsire has taken an interest in you! How do you interact with the Pokemon?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Astraea was the first to notice they were being watched, although it still took her a few moments to realize it. "Do you hear that?" the turtle asked, turning her head. She was hearing the slow clapping of fins, but unsure where it was coming from. June continued her lazy circles above them, looking down disdainfully at Astraea. "No. The only thing I hear are your inane questions."
"Har har, chunky butt. I'm surprise you can fly at all." June's narrowed eyes morphed into a red-hazed glare, and the hawk began to descend, ready to tear into the uppity Squirtle with gusto when Ashton swung around, having been alerted by the sound of the Quagsire's fins. The two Pokémon stopped to look at him, startled by his sudden movement. He looked at the doleful face of the water-dweller curiously, wondering what it could possibly want.
He turned to his partners, looking at Astraea first. "Go find out what it wants, I don't speak Pokémon," Ashton said bluntly, not surprised when the Squirtle rolled her eyes. "Yeah, okay then. That thing looks as stoned as Bryn." The model sighed, pressing his fingers to his face before swinging his amber eyes towards June.
She didn't bother to reply, shaking her head furiously. Whatever it wanted probably wasn't any good, like a battle or something. And as much as she loved to tango, it was probably evolved and ten times stronger than herself. With an irate sigh, Ashton produced Blu's Poké Ball and let the Oshawott out, who stretched quickly before spinning around, winking at Astraea. "To wake with your face each morning is but a miracle I can barely believe! More beautiful than the rising sun atop a sparkling sea ~" he proclaimed, barely aware of Ashton's expectant eyes on him.
"Hey Romeo, save the flirting for later. I need your help," Ashton interrupted before the Oshawott got too into his struggle for Astraea's affection. "Out with it then, human! I have a lady to win over," Blu replied, pouting at Ashton, who pointed towards the Quagsire. But before he could speak, Blu dashed over without preamble, stopping before the large creature with a bow. "Greetings my good sir or madam! What is it you seek?" the Oshawott declared, smiling up at the Quagsire.
Ashton watched them carefully, barely resisting the urge to light up a smoke. This was rather boring, and though the Quagsire had a cute face, there wasn't much else going for it. Blu seemed animated as he interacted with the Pokémon, detaching his scalchop from his chest and whirling it around, juggling it with pebbles scattered across the ground and finally balancing it on his head. Maybe all the Quagsire wanted was a good show, and at least Blu was talented enough to know how to put one on. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Wild Quagsire likes interacting with your pokemonThe Quagsire looked around unfazed by the hustle and bustle of all the people around, it occasionally bumped into a few of the taller people around it. Actually it found a bench with what looked to be a trainer and his pokemon around him. This Quagsire was intrigued by the idea of a trainer and his pokemon so he made appoint to stand close to the bench that the trainer sat on. His blue body swayed back and forth to nothing in particular as it watched the habits of the pokemon together. A few things that caught its attention and made a weird laughing noise of his own till the others took notice of him and where he was standing.
At first it was afraid of being attacked, it had seen so many of its own kind been attacked by trainers and their pokemon because they just wanted to add its kin mates to their collections, but when he saw that these pokemon here had no want to attack him he let himself open up. Hearing the trainer say he didn’t speak pokemon and sent a few of his own over to this Quagsire a smile came over the water ground pokemons simple face. Hello. it said simply as it watched an Oshawott come over and do a trick with it’s accessories.
This Quagsire didn’t see many Oshawott but he had heard what they look like and this one confirmed those mental pictures it had possessed in its mind. I hope I wasn’t intruding in anything, your interaction with the human is interesting for sorts like me that have only seen the battle side of things. it apologized and explained its reason for standing so near and watching them. Most would think its weird, yet it hoped that they would stick around and interact with him a little more before they would have to press on with their master.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Blu waved off the Quagsire's apology for intrusion. "Do not worry! We are not savages and attack all who spring upon us unless we are attacked first. And you seem to be a peaceful tribe." The Oshawott bowed to the large Quagsire and perked his ears up. It seemed to be curious about their relationship with Ashton, to which Blu let out a booming guffaw, holding his stomach.
"Well, the boy may not be the brightest but--" "Hold it Romeo. You just met Ashton, you can't really describe him accurately." Astraea strode over, nudging Blu aside to look up at the Quagsire's simple face. "For a human, he could be worse. He's conceited, arrogant, totally selfish and obsessed with his image." Blu seemed aghast at her blunt words and scrambled to clear up Ashton's suddenly destroyed rep.
He pushed Astraea back and faced the mudfish, waving his small paws around wildly. "Haha, you see, quite the joker isn't she... it's why I love her so. B-but you must understand, while our human isn't perfect, he gives us food, shelter, love and most of all, a purpose. We don't fight because we have to, but because we have something to fight for." The little otter smiled, hoping to get his message across.
"He's right, you know. I enjoy being able to show my strength to Pokémon I've never come across. I grew up entirely in that little area, I relish the chance to explore the unexplored," June added, fluttering over to land next to Blu. Tolerating her trainer was one ordeal, but the good outweighed the bad, and she strived to become stronger. Ashton had already recognized that and, despite his feelings towards her scruffy appearance, had kept her instead of dismissing her entirely.
As if knowing he were being discussed, Ashton looked over, amber eyes flashing with annoyance. "What's the hold up? We don't have all day to make friends," he said with a scowl, turning back to the magazine he was reading. Astraea made a face at his back and shook her head, walking back over to him and leaving her partners standing next to the Quagsire. "A question, though. You act as if you are not used to trainers. Why is that?" Blu asked, looking out at the various Quagsire that were hiding in the water. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Quagsire Encounter
Staring at Blu with the same dopey, smiling expression plastered across it's face, the Quagsire was getting the responses it wanted, even if they were a bit here or there. From what it could sum up, the pretty boy wasn't all to nice, his odd snapping voice making the Quasire feel a bit on edge. Yet at the same time, his Pokemon were able to say nice things, describing their Master/Pokemon relationship as something they can fight for or giving them a reason for life. It was interesting! Placing a large fin on the bottom of it's chin, the large blue Pokemon spoke out once again, "I see. So these creatures are useful. Cruel yet kind, giving you a purpose and allowing you to explore... Most interesting." Thinking that bit deeper, the sudden question from Blu made the Quagsire blink it's tiny eyes, it's mouth opening happily into a laugh.
"Our group hide away in the waters most of the time. Many mean humans come and snatch us away, injure us for no apparent reason. Some strangely dressed two legs protect our waters from other two legs so that we dont all disappear." Pointing a fin towards the water it had surfaced from, one or two other Quagsire held up their heads, watching intently from afar. "We have learnt these humans are nice and horrible so most of the time we keep our distance. Some of us have hope that one day we can all walk about freely but for now, we remain hidden." Hoping that their uncertainty on humans wouldnt upset Blu, the Quagsire let out a bit of a jolly cry, copying that of a laugh. "But it's not matter, our lives are peaceful despite the odd bit of litter. Here, I must gift you for shedding a bit of human knowledge on us without finding the need to battle."
Clapping it's fins in a particularly tone, a couple of hiding Quagsire perked up. Hearing repeating cries off in the distance, a trio of Quagsire's friends came running out with large grins on their faces, an item held in each of their fins. Placing down by Ashton's feet, they all ran off just as quickly, leaving just one remaining. "We always have these strange objects tossed into our pond, perhaps this trainer could find use in them? Well, goodbye for now little Pokemon! Good luck in your journey and if you ever pass by this area again be sure to say hello!" Waving, the wild Pokemon dashed off after it's friends, diving back over the rock it had climbed upon to tell it's friends all about their conversations.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Quagsire's interest in humans was definitely interesting. Most Pokémon stood on one clear side - avoid them or seek them out. But the Quagsire seemed to be a little of both, curious and yet timid, having experienced some troubling things by the two-legs. Blu had grown up with them and was used to their presence, and had always been treated fairly well. He nodded as the mudfish spoke, genuinely interested in what it had to say.
"Oh you don't have to do that--" Blu began when the Quagsire mentioned presenting gifts as thanks for imparting some wisdom, cut off by its clapping. He and June watched the three others deposit some objects near Ashton, who looked up in mild surprise. Soon enough they'd retreated back into the water, the one speaking to them bidding them farewell and dashing off as well, Blu waving at them all.
The Oshawott toddled back to where the items were, picking up the Lure Ball and studying his reflection in it before tossing it to Ashton. He gathered the Oran Berry and presented it to Astraea, smiling ever so sweetly. "My dearest Astraea, I bestow to you this berry of blue, sweet and succulent like yourself," Blu crooned, sweeping his head into a bow. Astraea grimaced and knocked the berry onto Ashton's lap as well. "These aren't for us, lover-boy."
"That was just plain weird. But I guess things could be worse," Ashton muttered, stowing the items into his bag and rumpling his hair. The skies had gone gray, a cold wind picking up. "Perfect. Just what I need, a bad hair day. Well you lot, we'll stay out here for a little longer. Otherwise the half-hour I spent on my hair will go to hell." He returned to his magazine after speaking, ignoring the snowflakes that had just begun fluttering down softly from the heavens. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

As Ashton remained sat down, reading his magazine, the weather was starting to take a turn for the worst. The recent Quagsire who had been kind enough to deposit some items were fully alert, their dopey faces looking up to the sky was if pondering just what was about to happen. The once blue sky had been invaded with an army of dark grey clouds, packing together tightly and not letting a single inch of light shine through them. The cold breeze which blew cautiously through the route was now beginning to pick up, viciously too. Instead of a faint whisper, it howled as it tore through the foliage and branches of trees, pulling up fragile plants which once stood in the ground and tossing them through the air, dirt in tow. From above, delicate white snowflakes began to fall from the sky, covering the ground and those who stood upon it. There was only so much one could take before feeling the need to move as it was beginning to settle, hiding the once green grass in a white cloak. Sure, it was pretty, but Pokemon knew otherwise. A storm was coming and now wasn't the time to be sitting back reading an article in a magazine.
Escaping with a splash into their pond, the wild group of Quagsire fled to a more secure place to shelter, narrowly avoiding the next addition to the weather. Hail. Slicing clean through the flakes of pure white snow were chunks of ice, ranging from tiny sizes to more noticeable ones. It certainly wasn't nice as although it was falling quite irregularly at first, it soon picked up, toppling from the sky as if some had just tipped a whole cart of golf balls from up above. The weather wasn't the only thing to grab one's attention either. Terrified cries from all over echoed between the wind, their frantic flapping of wings and scratching of claws all combining into a noise of it's own as they rushed for safety. One particular creature was quite frankly doomed. Being asleep in it's tree the entire time and not waking up thinking it was the neighbourhood Pidgey pretending to use Gust on it, a lone Weedle was sent flying from it's tree branch and was carried along in the fierce wind. Looking completely horrified, where else could the Weedle land but right in the center of Ashton's magazine. Looking around with swirly eyes as it's suction padded feet felt the touch of paper, the Weedle was too dizzy to realise where it was.

Even as the weather turned into a Blizzard, there was someone that had to see Ashton, because she had something important to give him. It wasn't one of his fans, but this someone, was more of the Pokemon variety. An oddly colored Lopunny hopped against the wind, keeping her paws wrapped securely around a wicker basket that carried her precious deliveries, the eggs she had been trusted with. She wouldn't let one break, she swore it! Finally, she spotted Ashton, who was currently faced by a Weedle. She ignored the worm completely in order to meet up with the man. She glanced up at him, before looking into her Basket. She moved through the eggs until she found the one she was looking for. Quickly, she pulled out a dark blue colored egg and held it up for Ashton to see. She quickly pushed it into Ashton's hands and without waiting for him to say anything at all, she hopped off, leaving him with the Pokemon egg that was meant for him.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ashton seemed extremely unimpressed when pellets of hail began bouncing off the glossy paper that made up the magazine's pages. He shook it off and continued reading, oblivious to the increasing precipitation. Astraea frowned when Blu huddled up to her, but relented when she saw that he was simply cold and not just trying to woo her again. June cawed raspily and hopped onto the log with Ashton, careful not to bother him but used his body as a shield from the elements.
None of them were aware of the lean orange centipede that was blown their way until it landed smack in the center of Ashton's magazine. Twitching, the model was about to hurl it away from him when a disturbance stopped him in his tracks. A lone creature was hurrying through a wall of snow and ice, cream coloured and quite beautiful. But when Ashton spied the eggs that rattled so slightly in its basket, he knew something weird was going on.
But before any protest could escape his lips, the rabbit dropped one of the eggs on his lap and escaped the scene, as if to make sure he couldn't chase it down and return it. Ignoring the Weedle, Ashton looked down at the egg with an ominous expression. "Oh god, responsibility." The sheer tone he said this in made Astraea laugh hysterically. He didn't see the irony in all of this, did he? Raising a team of Pokémon was a responsibility.
"Back, hooligan!" Blu suddenly barked, dashing forwards and swatting the Weedle from the paper. He'd seen Ashton's face upon viewing the bug and seemed eager to prove that he was no layabout on the team. "You fine ladies mind if I have this fight?" the Oshawott inquired, hearing no protest from either. "Most excellent! My orders, good sir?"
It took only a moment for Ashton to look up from the egg sitting snugly in his lap and realize what Blu desired. "Oh... fine I suppose. Alright Blu, use... Tackle!" he ordered, shifting the delicate egg so that it was closer to his body. While not really wanting to raise whatever was inside, he wasn't going to abandon it; not in this weather. Blu nodded as he received his command and dashed forwards with a courageous roar.

[Sorry it sucks Dani. D:] The Weedle heard voices, one Pokemon and one was a human, probably a Trainer, and the Bug/Poison-Type Pokemon began to be able to tell where it was, when it saw that the other Pokemon was clearly getting ready to attack. It was still a bit dazed, but Weedle couldn't have that so the insect charged the young Oshawatt for it's own attack, a Poison Sting. Hail and dizziness or not, it wasn't about to let some Water-Type punk attack it for free. It managed to connect, stabbing the young Oshawatt in his stomach, but Blu managed to pull away before any major damage could be done, and the Weedle was unable to poison him because of this. But it still hurt a lot, but it could have been a lot worse considering how sharp that horn was. Needless to say, the Weedle was glad to cause a bit of damage, but pissed about failing to poison the target. Although it didn't have long to grow angry about this, as Blu quickly charged at his opponent for his own attack, a full head-on Tackle. He was fast once he got moving now that Weedle saw him, which didn't do anything to calm the Weedle down. But Blu lowered his shoulder as he charged the Weedle for the Tackle. Luckily for Blu, it had been caught off guard by his speed, so he easily managed to connect with his attack. He'd knocked the Weedle back off it's feet before heading back to his Trainer, it was a good hit, as both Pokemon could easily tell, since Blu had a slight ache in his shoulder from the impact, and Weedle felt quite a lot of pain from having the Oshawatt crash into him. But Blu stood by, waiting for orders, though both Pokemon were further hurt by the hail that was coming down around them. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Astraea and June watched the battle with interest, curious to see if Blu fought as well as he talked. "He ain't half bad. You might have a real catch there," June commented with a smile, ignoring the dark glare directed her way. "At least I have a suitor. Who would want to court you, scruffy?" Astraea fired back, taking great delight in the ugly scowl that passed over the Spearow's face.
"Ladies, please! I need some peace and quiet to focus," Blu called out to them. He appreciated their presence, but their bickering was rather distracting, and wholly unnecessary. Plus, this orange bug had impaled him with its horn and nearly poisoned him; it wasn't a Pokémon he wanted to be attacked on the sly by. The duo quieted up, seeming abashed by the rebuke.
Ashton watched the exchange with a small smile. At least his Pokémon weren't boring. He shifted the egg even closer to himself, feeling the wind and snow intensify as if in response to the fighting going on. Maybe after whatever was inside it hatched, he could pawn it off on some awestruck fan instead of raising it inside. His partners were already somewhat grown, mentally at least; whatever hatched from this was going to be a true infant. And he had little tolerance for children...
Shaking his head, the model refocused and wiped snow from his face, the flakes melting as they landed in his hair. "That was good work Blu! Try another Tackle on it!" he called out, trying to infuse some enthusiasm into his voice. Truthfully all he wanted to do was run back into the city and find someplace warm to wait out the weather. Blu nodded and grinned at the Weedle, dashing forwards and readying himself to meet the centipede head on for another round of clashing.

With the audience settled, the stage was now set to go on with the show. The light pelting of hail clattered around their vicinity and gave the battle a wonderfully climatic feel. With the the two Pokemon staring one another down, it was so intense that sparks were flying off their steely gazes. It may have been knocked from its sanctuary and accosted by this wily otter but this Weedle had a performance of its own to dish out. Realising that its poisonous barb had done little to no effect, it racked its brains for another method of ripping the red carpet from under the Oshawott's flippers. Leering its eyes, the Weedle decided that it was time for something different. Using its suction pad like feet to brace itself, the Pokemon writhed its body up and down as if it were summoning something. A few movements later and a large stream of silk like string fired through the whiteness of the hail. Landing with a perfect shot on Blu, the Pokemon was debilitated in the way that the steady stream wouldn't stop, covering its body in a slowing restraint. This tactic would not go ignored. Struggling to resist against its binds, Blu was beginning to seem quite annoyed by being unable to move properly. His arms trying to out-muscle the string shot confines, he eventually let out a belligerent sigh before improvising his offence. Teetering forward with what little dexterity his feet could work with, Blu went charging forward with a few hops and bounds before using the gained momentum to focus his movement forwards. Allowing the natural course of gravity to take its toll, Blu went tackling into the tiny Weedle and sent it into a pile of snow. A critical display if there ever was one. Now hopping back with a few spinning twists in the air, the otter was going to try and attempt a bow but decided against it lest he topple over thanks to the unbalanced caused by his imprisoning binds. That wasn't all however, as if mimicking the raucous applause of an audience, the hail seemed to intensify from the clouds above and thundered across the floor. The clapping impact of the hail wasn't entirely misdirected however, honing in towards the two performers, the two received a hefty dabbing of hail that pounded their bodies. Wild Battle

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - If Weedle wasn't a Bug-type, seeing it spray Blu with a wrapping of silk would have made Ashton stop his Oshawott from continuing the battle and capture it. Of course he didn't realize it wasn't real silk, but it still excited him somewhat. "Blu! Are you alright?" Astraea called out to him, concerned as he fumbled with the sticky material. He nodded quickly before finishing his attack, knocking the Weedle flying into the snow. He tottered away from the drift and closer to Ashton, still struggling with the silk.
One small arm came free, though this wasn't anything to celebrate over. After this was done, he would require someone to remove this goo off of him. "If Ashton had let me fight, that pest would be left in that drift unconscious," June muttered to herself. She'd taken on countless bugs during her time on Route 29, her powerful beak the cause of their downfall. But Blu had insisted, and the ruffian hawk would respect his wishes.
"You may try valiantly, but you cannot stop a determined performer!" Blu declared loudly as he waited for the Weedle to extricate itself from the snow. He grimaced at the relentless pounding of hail, which added injury to insult. The slowly intensifying blizzard wasn't helping him at all, but the young Oshawott knew he had the upper-hand here with Weedle having not gone on the offensive.
Ashton hoped that one more attack would bring the battle to an end, as the cold was starting to get to him. He quickly recalled Astraea and June into their balls, not wanting to subject either to the horrible conditions for much longer. Blu could live with an audience of one for a few more moments. "Make this Tackle count, buddy!" he managed to get out past chattering teeth. Blu nodded and began to hop unsteadily forwards.

The Weedle, though greatly weakened, felt that this battle was still in its favor. After all, it did have the one advantage that Blu didn't, and that was its speed. It nosily chattered its name in a simple battle cry. Then, with all its strength that it had left, it moved its body a bit forwards. Wiggling was a lot more work than it seemed! With the quickness of a small snake, it shot out several needles, all tipped with a poison. It was a slim chance that it would get injected, but it was worth a shot. "Weedleee!" it called. The Needles planted themselves into Blu's body, and the otter scrambled backwards, feeling the impact of the poison crawling under his skin. However, the feeling quickly dissipated, and once again, he was free to move without the worry of poison. Blu, now ready, launched himself forwards in a small frenzy. The Weedle was now unsure if it would make it through this attack, but it was very, very clear it wouldn't when Blu came crashing into its frame. The Weedle was thrown backwards into a tree, and was now effectively seeing stars. Blu, proud of his new defeat, suddenly felt strange. Lifting his head upwards, he shot a jet of water straight up into the air. The water jet soon dissolved into a light mist over his head, and it was now clear what it was.
