► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • switching scintilla for anahera • Scintilla may not have been the brightest crayon in the box, but there was some spark of intelligence in her eyes as she waited for some unsuspecting Ralts to cross their path. It was that simple-minded nature of hers that had gotten her captured and shipped out to Johto illegally in the first place, though when battles were involved, she was undeniably strong for such a little Pokémon. Ashton took a step back as his Scraggy picked up a boulder and pulverized it, the destruction finally luring something out of the grass. Something that his hastily extracted Pokédex identified as a Ralts, the very Pokémon he'd been looking for. A crooked smile spread across his face, knowing that this Ralts was about to get quite the nasty surprise.
With no hesitation, Scintilla sent some of the rock chunks flying, one piece striking the Psychic-type directly on the head and left the Scraggy snickering. Though the sudden growl made her flinch, she quickly regained her composure and pounded her hands together in an attempt to intimidate her quarry. She was waiting for further orders from Ashton, and when he failed to make one, Scintilla turned her head and watched blankly as he tugged an umbrella free from the messenger bag he carried with him. Rain was dripping down his face, Ashton having belatedly noticed the storm that had sprung up. (Guess that means no smokes for now... great.)
"You. Come here," he snapped, gesturing for Scintilla to come stand by him. The Scraggy rolled her eyes, hiked up her pants, and toddled over to Ashton. Whatever he wanted to do was nothing she was interested in, especially if it meant not battling. Fiddling with one of his Poké Balls, Ashton sent out his Minun, who let out a cheer and splashed happily in a puddle. It could be hailing and Anahera would still be happy, just delighted with everything. "Ana, focus for me doll. Can you use Thunder Wave for me?" Ashton asked in an uncharacteristically soft voice. He had grown quite fond of Anahera, the Minun somehow having wormed her way into his heart without him realizing it. Nodding, his Minun turned to face the wild Ralts with cheeks sparking.

As Ralts tried to think about why it had to be so nosy. The small psychic type was not looking for a fight at all but after the last round it quickly changed it's tune ready for a fight. The small Pokemon was not sure how it was going to hurt a Scraggy but it was going to find a way no matter how hard it would be. However all of it's hard thinking had been for nothing as Ashton recalled his Scraggy sending out another Pokemon. Now with an opponent it could actually hurt the unfortunate psychic type began to feel a little more confident. Ralts used the free turn it got very wisely as it began to make it's move. It's arms began to glow in a light blue hue as it waived them around. Anahera had no idea what was happening but as he entire body began to glow in the same blue hue she was about to find out. Ratls had used it's psychic powers to take control of her body and as she began to lift up into the air the mouse grew scared. Before long Ralts released it's grip on her sending her hurdling to the ground as she landed head first. As she got up from the attack she acknowledged her orders and began to build up electricity for an attack. She sent a small wave of electricity towards Ralts that was small enough not to drain health but still painful enough to cause Paralysis as it scored a direct hit in the center of the small Pokemon's head. As Ralts went numb from the attack there was not much it could do except try to attack again and hope for better results. Ralts again lifted Anahera up off the ground for a moment before dropping her with similar results of the last attack. Although Ralts were clearly trying it's confusion attack simply was not strong enough as it the rain continued to fall on it's head Ralts was very sorry it had been so nosy in the first place. ► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • using x1 poké ball • He knew the risk that switching Anahera in meant - that the sweet Minun would be wide open for an attack. Even if she didn't complain, he felt awful putting her in such danger, which led to shock at feeling bad in the first place. As Ana's feet left the ground, she giggled at first, amusement quickly giving way to fear as she floated uncontrollably. 'No! P-Please put me down, I don't like t-this!' she hiccuped, getting her wish a moment later as Ralts released her and she crashed to the muddy ground. "Ana! Are you alright?" Ashton called, free hand splayed over his chest in shock. Anahera struggled to her feet, beaming at her trainer despite being covered in mud and feeling a dull headache from being dropped.
Not even a fleeting moment of fear was enough to take the pep out of her step, and the electric mouse complied with his earlier request, launching a jolt of electricity that would hopefully render the Ralts immobile. Not only that, it would make catching it easier, knowing it wouldn't be able to swat away or dodge anything he decided to throw at it. 'You gotta be nice to me, kay? I'm Ashton's little princess after all! I won't hurt you, I promise!' Anahera trilled, humming a sweet little song and swaying with the melody. But once again she was picked off the ground and dropped, the song abruptly cutting off as soon as the Minun splashed down in the mud. Spluttering, Ana swiped the mud from her face and stamped down the urge to cry, though she wasn't able to keep her lip from trembling.
Ashton narrowed his eyes on the Ralts, tempted to have Anahera give it a nasty surprise with her powerful Thunderbolt. Nolan's words echoed in his mind, reminding him that trainers were waiting to get their hands on some Ralts, dashing any plans before they could come to fruition. Grumbling to himself, Ashton pawed through his bag and pulled out an empty ball, crouching down to help Ana to her feet again. "You've done well, Ana. Don't worry, I'll take care of this mean Ralts for you," the model murmured, earning a sunny smile as his reward. Straightening up, Ashton smirked at the Psychic type while tossing the ball up and down in his hand before letting it fly.

The aggressively sought out Pokemon had done it's best to fumble about and keep the onslaught of attacks to a minimum. Already seeing a third of Ashton's team, Ralts was well and ready to be on it's way. It had already faced the Scraggy, a strange Pokemon it'd never seen before, and was now facing down a strange electric Pokemon. If only it were stronger, it could've probably paralyzed the mouse right back! However, maybe the electric Pokemon couldn't be shocked that way? Either way, Ralts was only armed with it's psychic abilities, and was feeling rather attacked at this particular moment. And the trainer, of course, seemed far too interested in Ralts. Although it's battling prowess wasn't the best, Ralts was a sought after Pokemon, and it knew it. Why else did people think Ralts were hard to find? It was only from that startling rocky attack that Ralts had been out here in the first place. Having endured electricity enough, Ralts readied itself for another attack. Bouncing the tiny mouse up and down in the air was relatively fun, and it was scaring the creature enough; perhaps it'd scare Anahera off for good. Send her sprawling back to the safety of her trainer. That was something that technically was happening now.. but, it left a pit in Ralt's stomach. Ashton pulled out a Pokeball. As the ball flew towards Ralts, it began to panic. Could it use it's psychic attacks to move the ball out of the way and flee? As hard as it tried - the ball did glow a little - it couldn't bat the ball off it's course. It pelted into the creature's large head, immediately sucking the creature into the ball. It rocked and rattled around inside the capsule, but it seemed as though it was done for good. The electric bite of it's paralysis certainly didn't help, either.. *shake shake, a-shake shake, a-shake it!* -Ting!- Successful Capture!

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • requesting another ralts please ~ • The panic Ralts felt upon seeing the ball was something Ashton almost relished. Anahera was still a bit upset over the double attacks, but knowing that Ashton was protecting her from being levitated again cheered her immensely. She all but danced around as the Ralts was drawn into the tossed ball, splashing merrily through the puddles when the capture was a success. Hustling over, the Minun tottered wildly as she picked up the ball and tottered over to her trainer's waiting hands and dropped it with a huge sigh. "Thanks princess. You did great out there," Ashton said, recalling Anahera after she flashed him another bright smile in thanks.
Scintilla followed soon after, since his next move meant a trip into the city. Ashton had looked over his Poké Ball supply and realized that if he wanted to keep up with the demand for Ralts, he would have to purchase more. Sighing wearily, the model edged around puddles of varying sizes on the trek in, keeping a tight grip on his umbrella in the process. Once his business at the Poke Mart had been concluded, it was back out onto the route for more of the elusive Psychic types. Amber eyes roving watchfully, Ashton sent Anahera back out to tag along next to him, knowing her Thunder Wave would be of great help with this little catching spree. That, and it was nice to have company, even if he and Ana didn't speak the same language.
Not that silence was a bad thing. It was something valuable for him, a guy used to the chaos of photo shoots or meet and greets with fans, the latter of which usually came accompanied with loud screams. Only the rain and Ana's happy humming filled his ears, and for that, Ashton was grateful. Until a rustle in the grass caught both trainer and Minun's attention, pausing in their walk to stare at the patch. "Ana, ready a Thunder Wave. If that's another Ralts, I'm not going to let you get hurt like you did last time," Ashton said in a low voice, hoping to keep their presence concealed from whatever was hiding. Ana's cheeks sparked in response as she hopped forwards. 'Heehee, I can handle this! I'm a big girl!' Anahera trilled, launching her Thunder Wave despite Ashton's protest.

It took longer than usual to buy the few extra pokeballs or else the summer had just suddenly decided to kick in with all its power, since when Ashton stepped out from the Pokemart the rain had stopped. As he walked down the route the sun started to vaporate the clouds, slowly at first but as more blue sky became visible he could almost see the remaining clouds disappear into thin air. When he and Anahera noticed the moving grass, the sun was beaming down on them and the umbrella was more in use as a parasol. Soon it became close to unbearable hot, especially compared with how the weather had been a few moments ago. It was almost like a strong pokemon had got enough of the wet weather and had decided to simply remove it. A bidoof had been running through the rain in the attempt to get to some shelter, and had accidently ran into a ralts who had used its weak psychic powers to try keep dry. It had become as soaked as the bidoof is seconds and it had turned to glare furiously at the bidoof who had quickly apologized, but to no avail. The ralts didn't want to hear any excuses, as it called it and started to scold the bidoof and tell it how terrible it had behaved and how inconsiderate it had been. Bidoof looked confused at it, as it had just not seen it in the tall grass and it tried several times to make it clear to the ralts, it was really sorry, but the ralts just continued its rambling. As the rain stopped and they grass around them soon began to vapors, making the air dance with the humidity, the bidoof got enough of the ralts complains about being soaked and after a few attempt trying to point out the rain had stopped, it simply tried to walk away. The ralts put a hand in front of the bidoof and it sent it a sulky look. Did it really want to keep it staying and listening to the ralts complains, without giving it a chance to explain and apoligize? Then it was its own fault. The ralts staggered and shot a surprised glance over its should to something the Bidoof couldn't see yet. Bidoof stared openmouth as another ralts suddenly appeared beside the first one, mimicking each others movements to the smallest nervous twitch. Bidoof only hesitated a moment before it leaped towards the one there were the first ralts and its tackle sent them both stumbling out of the tall grass. Bidoof gasped surprised when it saw a human and his pokemon, both having their attention on the ralts, and now it too noticed the small sparks which were dancing over the ralts skin. The human and his pokemon were helping it against the stupid ralts, why? Bidoof looked questioningly at Ana, had they heard the squabble and had decided to intervene? It grinned its thanks to Ana before it turned towards the two ralts, ready to attack it again, now they were surely going down!

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • switching in scintilla, attacking bidoof • Ashton looked up at the sky with a fierce scowl, snapping his umbrella shut as he realized the rain had fizzled out completely. And with the temperature soaring, it left him extremely uncomfortable, enough so that he angrily shrugged off his blazer and tied it carelessly around his waist. Rolling up the sleeves of his shirt and loosening a few of the top buttons, exposing some of his sculpted chest, was enough to beat back some of the heat. Not that his expression let on any kind of relief, eyes glittering with annoyance. "Damn Johto weather, so bipolar. Make up your mind already!" Ashton muttered to no one in particular, shooting another glare at the heavens above. At least the climate was better in Unova, a vastly superior region than the one he was currently stuck in.
'Oh? Goodness, why are you two fighting?'
Meanwhile, Anahera was watching the squabbling pair of Pokémon before her, question going unheeded as Ralts became preoccupied with something the Minun couldn't see. When Ashton glanced over, his expression became stormy, amber eyes burning as he stared down upon the impudent Bidoof. "And what the devil do you think you're doing attacking my Ralts?" the model all but growled. Anahera sighed, knowing the caring, worried Ashton from the rescue attempt was gone, and his regular attitude was back in full force. The Bidoof's interruption had him seething; Ralts was no toy for this overfed rodent to mess around with, it was a Pokémon he was being well paid to capture. This problem had to be nipped in the bud, quickly, and there was one Pokémon he knew could get the job done without complaint.
"Ana, with me. I think it's time to let Scintilla have some more... fun," Ashton spoke, an evil emphasis on 'fun' as he stared down coldly at Bidoof. Sending out his Scraggy once more, he watched with little change in expression as Scintilla hiked up her pants and nodded without turning around. Good. The fact they were on the same wavelength was satisfactory enough for him to proceed with the battle. "Scintilla, teach this insolent rodent that its business with this Ralts is concluded immediately. Low Kick," Ashton snapped. When Scintilla turned towards him with yet another of her blank looks, he sighed in exasperation and pointed out the Bidoof, rubbing his temples as the Scraggy hustled forwards to comply. Strong as she was, the Scraggy really lacked in intelligence compared to his other Pokémon.

The strange situation that Ashton had wandered on was certainly one of a kind. All the trainer wanted to do was battle the Ralts, when in fact, another Pokemon had joined the fray. The Minun probably could've taken both, especially with Bidoof's interests in the Ralts versus the trainer. The distraction would've been enough to widdle it down one turn at a time, and then leave Ralts as the prize. However, in doing that, Ralts risked the chance of fainting and being unable to catch. Ashton couldn't have that, now could he. Instead, when he addressed the Bidoof and sent out Scintilla, the dopey Pokemon turned away from Ralts and faced Scintilla. It was a bad choice, but it did it all the same.
Ralts crawled off to the side, out of the battle and hopefully out of mind of Bidoof. What could that strange Pokemon even do against the native Bidoof? It looked ridiculous, and probably didn't pack that much of a punch. Bidoof felt the same way, and was aloof in the battle, allowing Scintilla to go first as it's interests were already waning. That was a mistake indeed. Scintilla wasn't known for brains, but brawn. The Low Kick seemed to come out of nowhere, which rocketed the Bidoof away from the battle and into some nearby shrubbery where it ceased to move. Ralts stood, dumbfounded. It had crawled away from battle, but it seemed as though it was already about to get tugged back in. Cringing, Ralts dreaded the receiving end of said kick. It didn't want to engage in battle with Scintilla, but even if it had wanted to, it was too paralyzed to do so this turn. Wild Ralts - Level |10| Health: 21/28 Current Status: *cringe* Paralyzed! Unable to Attack!
Wild Bidoof - Level |7| Health: 0/27 Current Status: Done like dinner No Attack! Ashton's Scintilla - Level |9|
Health: 30/30 Current Status: I KICK HARD Successful ATTACK!
Scintilla fought easily and gained +2 levels for her plight against Bidoof! Scintilla is now Level 11. Ralts is now open to battle and capture!
(OOC Because of weird ass format ( Thanks Tarlar........), I'm going to treat these like two separate battles. Going to code it as though Bidoof stepped in after the Thunderwave, so Scintilla is a 1v1 with Bidoof. Since Anahera hasn't had any interaction with Bidoof as of yet, we're going to keep Minun out of the EXP pool for Bidoof. When Bidoof fainted, now it's just Ralts left and up to you. However, Just a mod reminder that because of the request/attack format, Minun still gets credit for participating in the RALTS battle. Doing this to avoid level confusion as it technically -isn't- a double battle and we don't want to mix around with the experience.)

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • scintilla swapped for quinley • When Scintilla closed in on Bidoof, Ashton watched with a supremely satisfied look, his earlier grievances about her intelligence fading away. This would teach the rodent to get involved in matters that did not concern it, and that he would not be swayed from his course. Scintilla's kick, and Bidoof's subsequent air miles adventure, had the model cracking up. "HA! Serves you right!" Ashton managed to gasp between laughs, wiping at his eyes. Both Anahera and Scintilla eyed him warily, both curious as to why he found this so amusing when he had been raging mad before. Ignoring their questioning stares, Ashton instead focused on his earlier target, recalling his Scraggy with no warning and tucking her ball away.
"Might as well make use of this opportunity while it's here. Quinley, front and center!" Ashton barked, sending out his Treecko to take Scintilla's place. Adjusting the blue flower he carried, Quinley offered a friendly smile to Anahera and bowed low to her, eliciting a giggle from the Minun. 'Heehee! You're awfully nice!' Ana said in a bubbly voice. "Fun time later. You've got a Ralts to battle, Quinley. Step up," Ashton interrupted, snapping his fingers to get his Treecko's attention. Biting back a sigh, Quinley scampered into the grass, stopping a few feet away from the paralyzed Psychic-type. Poor thing still looked rather startled from the savage kick it had witnessed, and almost gave Quinley pause.
Ashton followed after his Pokémon, Ana skipping along behind him while humming a soft melody. "Hmph. Quinley, try a Pound attack," the model said after a moment, his tone all business once more. If Ralts had been wounded in the short tiff they'd come across, he wanted to play it safe with weakening it. Perhaps he was being too cautious, not believing enough in his own Pokémon, but there were risks he wasn't willing to take. Quinley offered a short, apologetic look to Ralts before moving in to attack, mouth clamped firmly on the stem of his flower to prevent it from flying away.

The wild Ralts struggled to move. The pokemon shook each time, and it felt sluggish to the point of where it wanted to give up. But it wasn't going to do so any time soon. The Ralts still had a bone to pick with Ashton's pokemon, especially that minum he had sent out earlier. The Ralts waited patiently as it unfortunately couldn't attack this round. Its paralysis status had taken over, causing the pokemon to slow down. The Ralts cried and whimpered in pain in soft voices, it knew that this next move was going to hurt no matter what it did. As Quinley heard the move, the Treecko raced forward and brought down its tail, she plowed into the wild Ralts with its fist with a sharp pound attack. The ralts cried out in pain as the pokemon was knocked back off its feet and onto the ground.. As for Ralts, it had its own problems at this point. The pokemon was bruised now, with sparks flying off it from the paralysis that it had suffered earlier. Still the Ralts continued on as it began to suddenly duplicate itself. The Ralts soon created many copies of itself to try and confuse Quinley in the process. As it used the form of Double team, its accuracy rose one extra point this time as the ralts tried to figure out some sort of plan towards beating this trainer. It was however glad that the Bidoof was taken care of. Those pokemon are sure as annoying, and it learned the hard way on that one. The weather didn't seem to make any great improvements either. The heat was still going on at this point as it could be seen in the low temperature. The side walks that went through the forest often steamed with vapor. In fact it was so hot out it seemed like you could fry an egg out on the hot road. Well that was hypothetically speaking in this case. It was no surprise in the dead of summer that the temperatures would act like this. Unfortunately it looked like it was going to stay this way for some time with the heat wave. At least the fire pokemon would be happy. Battle

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • using x1 poke ball (updated) • Seeing the Ralts struggling with paralysis almost made Quinley stop, but sensing Ashton would be displeased if he decided to cease attacking, the young Treecko pressed on. Jumping away as his quarry tumbled to the ground, Quinley cocked his head to the side as multiple Ralts suddenly manifested next to it, each clone eerily bearing the same expression as the original. Ashton, meanwhile, was unconcerned with the trickery, lifting a hand to cup his chin as he ran a cool, speculative look over the Psychic type. If it was trying to throw Quinley off with illusions, it had to be weak enough to attempt capture and was desperate to keep itself from receiving further harm.
Fighting off paralysis would work in his favour as well, a smug smile twitching into place as his hand dropped back down to his bag. "Step aside, Quinley. You've done well," Ashton said absently as he withdrew one of the Poké Balls recently purchased on his quick trip back into the city. Shrugging, Quinley stepped aside so that Ashton would have a clear shot - if he could find the Ralts, that was, a fact that had the model cursing. "Tch. This can only end one way. I implore you to accept your fate," Ashton spoke up, letting his warning hang in the air for a brief moment before he gave the Poké Ball a quick toss. With any luck, it would find the original among the copies and get him a step further to completing his deal.

Between the strange situation with the Bidoof, the display of the ruthless capability and strength of the strange looking Pokemon Scraggy, and this particular threat that still hung in the air like a thick smog, Ralts was ready to just bolt and run. The only thing keeping the poor Pokemon here was it's inability to flee due to the Paralysis that plagued it. Whenever it tried to run, it's body would stiffen and the electric jolt it felt earlier reminded Ralts of it's presence. Well, it wasn't to say that fear wasn't a factor as well. Ralts was paralyzed, but even if Anahera hadn't, Ralts would just be paralyzed with fear. It was a double whammy, and there was no getting out of it. When the trainer pulled the Pokeball, Ralt's heart lept up into it's throat. A trained Pokemon? It couldn't be a trained Pokemon! It had far too much to do out in the wild, like avoiding trainers for one. It'd done quite the fantastic job of being elusive in that regard. It was the fault of that stupid Bidoof! Had it not meddled, Ralts would've remained undetected. The only relief in seeing the Pokeball fly towards it was the realization that it wasn't going to get hit with an attack for a few seconds at least. Ralts was counting it's graces where it could. Ashton's threat stung, and Ralts didn't want to stay with a man who seemed so cold, but it looked as though it didn't have much of a choice. The Pokeball clinked against Ralt's body, and Ralts was sucked into the capsule by the strange red light it had heard about. Inside the capsule wasn't as intimidating as Ralts had imagined, but with the paralysis stopping it's limbs from pounding against the sides of the ball, Ralts had to resort to telekinetic, psychic powers. Unleashing the psychic energy was easier than moving, so as the ball shook, it also glew purple with Ralt's resistance. However, it was all for naught as the capsule clicked shut permanently. Ralts was now a tool for trainers, to be used or sold at Ashton's whim. On the bright side, it'd get healed soon, right? Successful Capture! Congratulations! Wild Ralts has been captured. ► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • requesting a third ralts ~ • Ashton remained silent until the capture was complete, smiling faintly when Quinley retrieved the Poké Ball once it had ceased shaking and brought it over to him. "Thank you. Enjoy your rest," he told the Treecko, amused by the faint surprise showing on Quinley's face. Was Ashton actually thawing out when it came to interacting with his Pokémon? Recalling his Treecko, the model returned the ball to his bag and withdrew his phone, checking the notes he'd made about the deal Nolan had brokered for him. Reaching into his bag again, Ashton pulled out his cigarettes and lit one up, taking a deep drag from it before punching in a number on his phone. The phone rang for several seconds, each one ticking by only darkening Ashton's mood, and by the time it was picked up, his expression was one of supreme frustration.
"Ashton, what's up? Got a scoop I don't know about?" Nolan babbled before Ashton could speak. Biting down hard on a rude retort, he flicked the tip of his cigarette and counted to ten. "No. But I am calling to check about the status of the deal you arranged. I've captured two of the creatures. How many left?" he said in an irritated tone. "Chill, Ashton, you're doing great. Only one left, but the contact hasn't responded to my messages lately. Still, best off catching it on the odd chance they return," came Nolan's response, a deep chuckle rumbling across the connection. "And then can I leave this god forsaken city? I can't expand my brand while I wallow about doing errands for others!" Ashton snapped, frustration reaching its peak.
Nolan was silent, blowing out a faint sigh following Ashton's declaration. "I know you're frustrated, but it's just one more Ralts. One tiny obstacle to taking you and your name to bigger heights. I'd give you a better pep talk, but I've got a busy schedule to adhere to. And put that damn cigarette out!" his manager said, clicking off while Ashton growled and uttered expletives under his breath. Lifting the cig to his lips for another drag, the dark-haired man glared at the grass, eyes softening as they wandered over to where Anahera stood patiently. "Alright Ana, we need to find another of those Ralts. If you see or hear one, hit it with another Thunder Wave," Ashton instructed, pleased when his Minun smiled and bounded off into the grass happily.

The Minun continued searching in the grass happily, so happy that she was walking really fast and rustling up the nearby grass just as fast. However, she suddenly bumped into a grumpy, moody Ralts who was wandering in bad mood, walking until the mood subsides. What the Ralts didn't realize, however, was that Ashton's sour mood was subconsciously sensed by the young Ralts, who indirectly picked up the mood and imitated it. The Ralts didn't apologize to the Minun. Before Anahera received an attack from the little Pokemon, she quickly sent a weak jolt of electricity from her cheek to stun every muscles in the opponent's body. The Ralts struggled and groaned as it tried to move faster, but obviously the paralysis was slowing it down. Then, inhaling a big breath, the grumpy Ralts made multiple version of itself, hoping to gain advantage in its disadvantaged paralysis situation.

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • switching in june for anahera • When Anahera collided with the Ralts, her first instinct was to apologize for the incident, only to look up and meet quite a grumpy face. 'Pardon me!' the sweet Minun began to say, her apology fading as she realized it was clear the Psychic-type wasn't likely to accept it, especially considering what she was about to do. Frowning, Anahera let her attack go with sparks flying from her cheeks and stepped back as the paralysis settled into place. Paralyzed Pokémon tended to behave somewhat erratically, and she didn't want to be knocked around by any flailing limbs (not that Ralts had many visible limbs in the first place). Faint footsteps heralded Ashton's arrival, drawing out a proud smile on Ana's face as she turned to greet him.
"Well done, princess," he said, nodding his approval before his attention moved over to the Ralts. It had proceeded to multiply, the copies all affixed with the same dour expression that almost succeeded in making him laugh. Truthfully, though, he was tired of being stuck out here in insufferable heat catching Pokémon he wasn't even keeping for himself. Eyes darkening on the heels of this thought, the model carefully put out what remained of his cigarette before summoning Anahera over to him. She already knew the routine and skipped over, humming patiently as he mulled over what Pokémon to send in her place. Something with a sharp gaze to see through the illusory copies, hand already lifting out of his bag with his choice mere seconds later.
Popping out with an irritable squawk was June, the scruffy hawk stretching her wings wide while yawning. 'Oh? Finally remembered I exist, did you now?' June grumbled as she glared up at Ashton, ignoring his small smirk. "Ah, but I trust you and those keen eyes of yours can help here. Give that Ralts a good Peck, dear Junebug," he cajoled, amber eyes unflinching as he met her hard look. Turning away, the Spearow ruffled her feathers and faced the Ralts, doing her best to pinpoint the original before lifting into the air. She'd prove herself to be a worthy addition to Ashton's team eventually, and this seemed like a good chance, no matter how disdainful he was towards her appearance.
