He was born in Eterna City, Sinnoh. Next to the Eterna forest, his birth place occasionally gets infested with bug type pokemon moving between locations, or grass type pokemon who got lost in their way. Sometimes he would spot foreigners with new grass type or bug type pokemon while they are traveling. These sightings spark my interests.
Currently in Johto he resides in Big Town, where he lives with his uncle and aunt for a while before being independent to adventure on his own.
Appearance:
Alex is a quite typical young adult, on the outside he has a lean but low muscle tone since he is not athletic, so they're kind of not really helpful for something herculean. (1) For facial features, he has an average face, long shaped, visible forehead, and when he smiles, no dimples, and he has no ear lobe either. (2) He prefers to keep his hair short since he hates long hair during sunny weather when it gets sweaty, and he would try to get to the nearest town, basically for a haircut when it gets long. (3) His hair is black colored and dry, when you stoke your fingers in between they won't get greasy or oily. (4) However, he is considering dying his hair to some "fun" color, but that is up to whatever influence he receives. (5) His eyes are black and small, purely based on his ancestry. (6) He likes to keep an expression of either light smile or occupied/serious look. (7)
Apparel wise, he wears printed t shirts with picture of some pokemon or food or abstract art of either or simple line art of either on the shirt, centered and medium size. (1) Down under, he wears belted shorts for warm weathers and have a pair of jeans in his backpack for colder weathers. (2) As for his pokemon journey, his backpack is typical for a trainer, the size of backpack and stuff inside it are typical. (3) His backpack also has a self-written notebook on how to do emergency rescue for human, but not pokemon. (4) Like all backpack, his backpack has two side pockets; he likes to always keep those travel water bottle with him at all times and cleans and fills after he wakes up. (5) Sometimes, during rainy days, he can be seen wearing those light-weight hooded jackets, which is just plain dark blue color. (6)
Personality:
Perhaps because of his genetics, Alex is quite a curious person, and he can get in trouble or life-injuring situations by his dangerous need to find out secrets, sometimes secret organization or just someone significant and influential. (1) However, he can also be apathetic to other people because of his analytical nature, some people he just don't deem worthy to dig into their past. (2) Also, due to his analytical nature, he would attempt to come up with a method or tactic as efficient as he can, within his abilities and knowledge, and based on information given from the surrounding. (3) His curiosity and analytical tendency leads him to approach matters on a reason and logical level somewhat more than emotional, sometimes he displays his emotion in the wrong situation or wrong time, or get too deep in his thinking that he forgets to pay attention to feeling of the surrounding. (4) Now, because he believes reasoning can explain matters more logically, he does not like ghosts and supernatural; in fact, he cannot watch horror movies or series without cringing (, but he can look at ghost and alien picture and attempt to persuade how it is fake). (5) Lastly, his inquisitiveness and mindfulness makes him forget to do certain actions when he is too tense (not necessarily in a pokemon battle, but this could happen when he is running errand in stores and thinking about dinner, and fruits for snacks). Because he is not used to dealing with emergencies Alex gets indecisive during those situations even though he knows what options he has, but he just could not chooses one. (1) He also seems to be a nocturnal person since he cannot sleep easily at night without thinking a lot, which consequently leads to waking up late next morning. (2) Although occasionally he will make a special mental note of motivations and to do list of behaviors that he needs to change, sleeping early being one. (3) Sometimes, ironically, the load of tasks stress him so much he also becomes forgetful, but he would still try to get the task done. By studying thousand years of history, architects, and ancient texts, scientists, historians, archeologists, and anthropologists have provide detail on the details of the Far East, where Alex's ancestry comes from. (1) Through years of cultivating the culture and civilization near the fertile river valleys, the Far East grew into a political system using dynasties, and a culture that embraces knowledge. (2) Because the ancient cities thrived near the coast, their culinary have included multiple seafood; additionally, the growth of the civilization has adapted to use of rice and wheat, where noodles is one of the major development in culinary branching into several varieties. (3) One development of this Far East civilization is a record of medicinal or therapeutic herbs that are found and confirmed of their properties in the region, which sparks Alex's interest after talking with his parents. (4) However, despite the great knowledge and ambition the region have, this Far East civilization is also known for periods of warring clans, which also involves either knowing how your opponent thinks or creating tactics to gain an upper hand. (5) Other than these, other aspects of his rich ancestral culture do not influence Alex much after globalization of cultures and knowledge. (6)
Alex's grandparents, both the Lee from mother side and Chan from father side lives in the Far East since they are too old to travel over such huge bodies of water; however, Alex does telecommunication with them every week. (1) His parents, Lee Lik Wah (father) and Chan Wai Man (mother) met during a business trip, which their representing companies become business partners. (2) Consequently, his parents frequently meet during meetings, parties, public events between the two companies. (3) Eventually, the two got married and moved to Eterna City, renamed the family name to something that fits the language of Unova, and start a humbling business that now stands not the lowest nor the highest in terms of annual gross profit. (4) One year after moving to Eterna City, his mother gave birth to his elder sister, Sarah, who now is married and moved to the Occident. (5) Two years later, his brother John was born, and now he lives in Hoenn and also starts a business there. (6)
At last, two more years later after his brother, Alex was born. (1)
He was only ten when his sister got married, but she occasionally visits during holidays. (2) He was twelve when his brother moved to Hoenn, so he spent three years alone with his parents before his move to Johto. (3) Although during his teenage years, his brother had still lived with him, they did not form close bonds since his brother is occupied with his friends and full time job. (4) Because practically everyone in the family was busy, Alex also busied himself by reading books about how pokemon lives as well as watch documentaries about pokemon. (5) After telling his parents what he wanted to do with his life, his parents sent him to his aunt and uncle to Big Town where he can excite his interests and hopefully get a job in the medicine field. Goals:
His goal was to learn more about pokemon at an intellectual, scientific level, but this ambition sometimes get in the way how I bond with both people and pokemon.
