Why do you wish to be the adoptive trainer?: Matt is curious about Pokémon species that are new to him, like Galarian or Paldean species. He also has more than a few Pokemon with difficult personalities that might be able to be helped by a more passive or timid like a squirrel Pokemon.

"Well.. Thinking about it from purely a practical standpoint.. I would be able to utilize the webs spun by this little creature to set up a trap for anyone of interest. It's such a small little thing too, I could even have them hide somewhere on their body and leave a breadcrumb for me to tail them easily. Other than that, it's a pretty cute little dude."

Why do you wish to be the adoptive trainer? Raiden has a problem of somehow ending up a dad figure to both Pokemon and humans alike. Though he has interests in mostly Gen 3 Pokemon as that is where he is from he would do better to look outside of that. He gets being rejected by someone who's supposed to take care of you, so I don't think he could in good conscious walk away from a Pokemon that needed him. It's hard when you're abandoned and it's easy to feel alone, a feeling he knows all too well, but there is always a better path forward and a new home with someone who can prove that they aren't going anywhere.
