The Zangoose narrowed its eyes, refusing to back down from Simba's own growl. This creature dared to challenge it? Very well, it would have the battle that it so desired. As the hot sun beat down, the two Pokemon circled each other for a moment, the Zangoose's claws flexing and Simba's fur crackling, each trying to determine the other's potential. At some unknown signal, perhaps a drop of sweat falling from a nearby prey, the two predators leapt at each other's throats.
Matched in speed, the two Pokemon slammed into each other at the same moment. Simba was the first to inflict damage, however, the static electricity jumping from his fur to ground itself in his opponent. The Zangoose snarled, body going rigid momentarily as the powerful electricity coursed through its body. Yet, the clawed beast was able to persevere. Shaking the momentarily paralysis off, the Zangoose slashed its deadly claws at the Luxio, letting several inches of razor-sharp pain sink into the lion's shoulder. Yowling, Simba staggered away, but not before the beast raked its claws down the lion's side. The two predators faced off once again, eyes narrowed as they assessed the damage given and received. Simba couldn't help but grin as the Zangoose staggered slightly, fatigue overwhelming the beast.

Justin thought about something, and then looked over at Simba, giving the return whistle. Confused, the Lion wandered over to Justin's side while he fiddled with a Pokeball. It was something new he'd obtained at the festival, and was eager about trying him out. A new Pokemon he'd never seen, but perhaps he'd get some mini-training in while he attempted to catch this Zangoose. The pokeball was in hand, and he threw it out to release the new team mate, Rocky.
The strange creature held onto what appeared to be a large slab of wood, but it enjoyed it. At least it was strong? Heya Rocky! I'm Justin, we met earlier. He chuckled, and the Pokemon gave a grin. However, Zangoose was probably wondering WHAT was going on, so Justin drove his attention back to it. Don't worry, we're not through. Well, hopefully we are, anyways. he said as he tossed the great ball towards the creature.

Growling at the retreating Luxio, Zangoose pulled itself up to its full height. Brandishing its claws, the beast stepped forward, preparing to attack the trainer if necessary. However, another creature was sent forward to face it, a smaller beast holding what appeared to be a piece of wood. The Zangoose snarled in indignation. What the hell was the meaning of this? A weaker beast such as this would never be a challenge for a predator such as itself. Hissing angrily, the Zangoose shot forward, racing at a blinding speed toward the Timburr and slamming against him with all its might. Surprisingly, Rocky withstood the attack, horrifying the Zangoose. What sort of witchcraft was this? A smaller, weaker creature should not be able to...
The Zangoose's thoughts were abruptly cut off as a blue and red ball flew through the air, knocking harshly against the unsuspecting Pokemon's head. The beast snarled as it felt the pull of the Great Ball, and struggled valiantly against the ball, refusing to give in to the orb. It was a proud predator, and it would not be tamed. But its injuries proved too much, and after much struggling, the Great Ball sealed the Zangoose inside.
A flash of light engulfs the Pokemon, sucking it inside the blue and white orb. Snapping shut, the Great Ball falls to the ground. Justin waits in anticipation as the Great Ball rocks on the ground, the wild Pokemon struggling to escape. ... The Great Ball twitches once... ... Twice... ... A third, violent shudder rocks the ball before... A red light flashes on the middle button and the ball is still! Congratulations!Zangoose joined the party has been captured! ((Lose the Bide, please. However, the way the Pokemon enjoyed battling, and the enthusiasm he showed... perhaps it'd be a good addition to the team after all. However, it'd be difficult carrying around 7 Pokemon, since he could only carry 6 at most... That would be something to worry about later. Right now his only worry was training up some more, and getting to know his team better.
Rocky didn't seem to mind, but Simba was a bit irritated from his semi-literal thunder being stolen from him. However, it was something he'd have to get used to more than likely. The stronger Simba was becoming, the less he'd be used in order to work up the team a bit more. Not that Simba minded, but it was nice to always stay by Justin's side as a guard Luxio. And who knew? He could feel the power in his paws, perhaps he was close to evolution. Pushing that aside, the two pokemon followed their trainer in his search for more Pokemon to train against. [/blockquote]

R O U T E - 34- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It didn't take long for their next encounter to come flying in. It was a fairly nice day and plenty of Pokémon were about and about, going about their natural lives. A few small Rattata pups followed their Raticate mother, one tripping over a hole in the path they were crossing and trying to call out, only to begin coughing due to the dust it had kicked up. When this cleared, its crimson eyes watered as it saw that its family had left.
A young, defenseless Rattata was ample prey for a number of Pokémon inhabiting the area; even Justin's Luxio felt his hunting instincts rise in response to seeing the helpless rodent. But he was beaten to the punch by a large shadow covering the rat from above, a large winged bird dropping out of the sky and pinning the terrified pup to the ground with one large foot equipped with curving talons. A characteristic short crest of feathers topped the head of the tawny bird, revealing it to be a Pidgeotto.
This one was large and clearly powerful, as the squirming Rattata it had pinned could barely move under its scaly orange foot. Sensing Justin's presence, the bird glanced his way, its wings folding to its sides. It was completely unaffected by his presence, but if he came any closer, or if his Pokémon did, it would punish them soundly for attempting to steal its catch. A battle seemed almost likely, however; it was right in the way of where they were walking.
Attention!A bold Pidgeotto (Level 19) has appeared before you! Will you challenge it to a battle or leave it be?

The scene unfolded infront of Justin, almost like a flip book, or turning the page to a book slowly. One that you really really want to read. Justin pulled out his camera, watching the Raticate mother waddle by with her pups in tow. However, the one straggler was by its lonesome. Simba crouched down, ready to pounce at it, but another shadow fell on the pup. Before Justin could say 'Flash', the Pidgeotto was ontop of the pup, claws extended, ready for it's kill and dinner. However... Justin wouldn't be able to stomach that or let it stand.
He knew it was the way life worked, little things occasionally got eaten by big things, but not on his watch. The mother just hadn't noticed, is all. The bird would have a far harder time if it's mum had been there, and since there was no one to stand up for the poor pup, it was time for Justin to. And of course, since he was Justin, it would always be followed by a risky move. Rocky... are you alright? He asked the fighting Pokemon, who carried his 2x4 at his side. He seemed troubled too, but the bird had a clear advantage over him. That still didn't prevent him from running out infront of Justin. You really wanna fight, don't ya... I guess... Use your Rock Throw.. but be careful.

The Pidgeotto narrowed its eyes, watching the approaching Timburr warily. It spread its huge wings slowly, hissing in annoyance at the intruders. This was its prey, and no one would be stealing it from its talons. Spreading its wings, the Pidgeotto took to the air, the tiny Rattata still clutched in its talons. Beating its wings faster, the Pidgeotto whipped up a powerful wind, swirling into a whirlwind around Rocky. The Timburr yelped as the winds picked up, actually picking him up off the ground. He winced as the winds laced against his skin, drawing blood. To add injury to... well, injury, once the winds died down, Rocky slammed into the ground.
Growling angrily, Rocky pulled himself back to his feet. He grabbed his two-by-four, secretly glad that his trusty weapon wasn't damaged at all. Scowling at the bird, Rocky whirled his two-by-four, slamming it against a nearby rock. Surprisingly, the rock shattered under the blow, scattering shards across the battlefield. Twirling the board, he caught a rock on the edge and hurled it in the same motion. The sizable chunk slammed directly against Pidgeotto's body, drawing a surprised shriek from the bird. The predator almost dropped its prey, but as it flailed wildly, it kept its grip on the rat.

Now they were in a pickle.
Justin knew one hit was probably all the poor Pokemon was going to be able to take. But if he healed him up to fighting fit again, he risked the chance of a double Gust, which would eradicate Rocky from any competition. He couldn't catch the bird at this point, either. He didn't really have all too much of a choice in the matter. Rocky, i'm going to let Simba step in. He called out, but the Pokemon shook his head severely. If you pull me out now, might as well just never battle with me! If I faint, then send the cat in. He snorted. Simba, a cat? The feline took offense and hissed, all while Justin had no idea what was going on.
Rocky still wasn't going to retreat, even though he was risking himself. Rocky, that is. If Rocky wanted to stay out though, Justin would let him. Perhaps the new member would have to learn the hard way. Although, if he did get another attack in, that might just boost his ego... Do another rock throw then, if you're so adamant on staying in... he sighed, nervous for him. [/blockquote]

Luckily for Rocky, Pidgeotto didn't realise how much damage it had done. The fighting-type's will to continue seemed to have fooled his opponent. As opposed to another Gust which would've finished Rocky, Pidgeotto opted for a Quick Attack this time. The bird darted towards its foe at full speed, knocking him off his feet. Rocky dropped his weapon on impact and tumbled to the ground.
While he'd taken a fairly substantial amount of damage, the Timburr seemed happy with the outcome. He pulled himself to his feet and grabbed the two-by-four which had landed in front of him. Similarly to the previous turn, Rocky hurled the object at a nearby rock which was smashed into pieces. Smaller fragments flew in all directions, one just narrowly missing Justin's head. The majority of the rocks, however, were directed at Pidgeotto, who wasn't quite as lucky. The Pokémon was struck in the chest, knocking it out of the air. Pidgeotto shrieked loudly as it noticed a bruise beginning to form.
Even Rocky could see that his opponent was weakening, he hadn't won yet. The bird was livid now. First it had been confronted on it had chosen for lunch and now it had an ugly bruise right in the centre of its chest. There was no way it was going to let this go. Its eyes followed the Timburr's every move. He was going to pay for that. Battle

(tendonitis,b ut trying to post anyways. sorry for typos/shortness)
Rocky was doing well, especially with the type differences. they'd fooled the bird, so now rockyw as stilla alive and kicking. Well, not kicking, but somewhat. However, now they stood at a crossroads. Fight the birdonce more, or catch it? Justin could easily sell the second evolution to the eager trainers he always passed, so that thought won over. He dug into his bag and pulled out a pokeball before chucking it over at the bird. Hopefully they'd get lucky.

Soaring upwards into the air in a direct arc as it hurtled towards the Pidgeotto, the aerial flying Pokemon had little time to make a quick dodge out of the way. About to flap its wings and try to blow the Pokeball away, it was instead unnerved by the fact the device had sped up and ensnared the avian with a bright red light. Now in the bright glow's comfort, the Pokemon felt itself shrink down in size as it was placed inside the Pokeball's confines. Falling to the floor from the sky, it landed on the ground below, rocking back and forth after it had stopped bouncing from the drop of the height. Once...
*BURST*Oh no! The Pokemon managed to escape!
For Justin, it seemed luck was not on his side. Breaking out of the Pokeball with such force, the device itself split in two and disintegrated into nothing as the large wing spanned bird now stared both Justin and Rocky down with absolute fury. Given how angry it now seemed, it was perhaps astute to say hell hath no fury like a bird scorned. Lifting up into the air once more, it positioned itself steadily as it began to flap its wings in an attempt to manipulate the very winds. Seconds later, a huge gust of wind had been summoned and battered into Rocky with no sign of mercy. The winds themselves were so strong it even separated the would be builder by snatching away its wooden log and dabbing it in his own face. Dying the winds down after it was happy with its attack, the Pidgeotto cooed to itself contently as it noted Rocky biting the dust. Wild Battle

Justin watched in anticipation as the pokeball wiggled, but unfortunately it burst forth to reveal a not so happy bird. All it's anger was taken out on the poor fighting Pokemon in front of him, and with that, Rocky was fainted. A sense of dread filled Justin, he didn't enjoy watching his Pokemon lose their strength. That sense of pity and guilt that was associated with returning their lifeless bodies just made him cringe. This Pokemon had taken Rocky's strength and almost the Rattatas, so there wasn't much mercy left in him.
He tappedon a pokeball and released Dayn, his huge body quickly taking up the majority of the battlefield. His mouth lowered into a gaping snarl as he glared down at the bird, growling all the while. Justin looked at the bird before Dayn. Give 'em a Dragon Rage. He sighed. He didn't like his Pokemon fainting, and this bird was just going to have to learn it the hard way. [/blockquote]

With a roar, Dayn burst forth from his Pokeball, his eyes almost immediately focusing on his target. The Pidgeotto was shocked silent, fluttering his wings and backpedaling as quickly as it could. It slowly raised its eyes to meet Dayn’s fierce gaze, twittering nervously as he growled ominously. It hadn’t been expecting this monstrosity to come avenge its friend’s demise. With a nervous shriek, the Pidgeotto took to the skies, intent on getting the hell away from the tattooed Gyarados. The bird was fast, and it was sure that it could put a good enough distance between itself and the sea serpent in no time at all.
But Dayn was faster. Roaring in fury at the fleeing Pokemon, he let his mouth open further as something sparked in the back of his throat. Bluish-purple flames began to swirl in his mouth, building in power and size until it began to drip down his jaw, setting small patches of grass alight with the unnatural flames. Dayn curled his head back, pausing for a second to take aim. The Pidgeotto leveled out, its wings spreading wide to glide on the winds, and the Gyarados fired. All the bird heard before impact was a high pitched whine that grew slowly louder, and just as it turned around, the ball of strangely colored flames slammed into it, knocking it out on impact. Feathers still smoldering, the Pidgeotto fell, dropping through the canopy into the dense forest nearby. Satisfied with his performance, Dayn returned to Justin’s side, a pleased growl rumbling out of his throat.

(Now that it's almost beena month, lol...)
Justin sighed as he returned Dayn, glad the battle had been won. The photographer was in a bit of a funk, so instead of heading back home he decided to train just a bit more. His main concern was Rocky. The poor Pokemon had been in his second battle with Justin before being knocked out. Despite his iron will, Rocky had fallen to the Pidgeotto. It wasn't his fault, the types just weren't in his favor, but still.
Justin released the fighter who leaned up against his 2x4 thing with the same bright, determined expression as before. Hey, uh, I'm sorry about that earlier. I promise battles aren't always like that with me. I was worried about the type differences, but you wanted to... I just kinda feel like a bad trainer. He murmured, but Rocky merely made a noise that sounded like chuckling before continuing down the path. ... I guess... you're okay? Rocky merely nodded before picking up speed to find something to fight. That's the spirit. He grinned, following.

A curious fellow had spotted the Timburr from afar, its tiney eyes blinking a few times as it watched the fighting Pokemon rush through the grass. A mischevious smile played upon the creature's face as it decided to perform a trick that was it liked to show to passerbys. Really a great activity to pass time. Slowly advancing towards Rocky, it popped out of the grass, letting out a giggle. Rocky screeched to a halt, eyes widened as he saw what was in front of him. A Timburr just like himself was standing merely a few feet away, giggling at the sight of his shocked expression. Suddenly, the Timburr clone started to morph until a pink blob replaced it. Looks like this Ditto was up to its old tricks again. Wild Ditto(Lvl 15) appeared!
