Smiling sweetly as Irene watched Justin looked after his wounded Timburr, the ace trainer clapped her hands together and swooned. "Ooooh that IS rather sweet. I may enjoy a gruelling hard battle but at the same time, I hate to see Pokemon get hurt. Knowing that you're a kindly trainer makes this a whole lot easier." Tilting her head to the side as she gleamed a warm smile with her eyes closed, it was slightly suspicious. What was going to be a whole lot easier? Testament to her trainer class, this girl wasn't leaning on the ropes, not yet. Even pulverised to such a low amount of health, the girl was keeping her cool while many others at this point would be panicking ridiculously. Opening her eyes and somehow becoming an entirely different person, she thrust out a pointed finger and spoke with a resounding confidence about her voice. "There's knowing when to take a defensive stance and when to just flat out retreat!" Clenching her fists, the enthusiastic trainer revealed a fatal fact that Justin may not have been aware of. "I hope you haven't let your guard down thinking my mesmerising Golden and I are a one trick fish." Shaking her head, she smiled rather cockily as she licked her lips. "I'm surprised you haven't worked it out. I mean, most trainers would be striving to heal their Pokemon when they're in the red. Much like your Rocky." Bouncing up and down with a jump, her offensive revelation was unveiled. "I'm afraid the only thing about to go flying is your fighter! Goldeen! Rampage with FLAIL!" The last word was enough to spell certain doom. As soon as the word was uttered, the Goldeen's eyes seemed to glow red with a demonic might. Failing around its body with absolute destruction, every slam it made while moving its way over to Rocky was enough to leave huge dents into the earth below. Seconds later, the Goldeen made a powerful, bone breaking flail into Rocky that knocked him clean off his feet. Calming down with the bounce, Irene laughed. "You weren't the first and you won't be the last." With Rocky now completely vulnerable, Irene wasted no time in keeping up with her Pokemon's momentum. This heavy, overwhelming deliverance was to an absolute T in the capability of an ace trainer. " WATER PULSE!" As she finished, her Goldeen followed it through with no delay. Opening its mouth, the goldfish shot forward a pulsating wave of water that flooded into Rocky, leaving him down and out in the watery puddle of defeat. "I sure hope whatever you have next is better. I'm starting to think those rumours weren't actually true..." Teased the teenage girl. Trainer Battle

Well.
Justin hadn't been expecting that.
He stared at Rocky for a moment as the events unfolded. The Flail hadn't been predicted, and then the water pulse just sorta did the fellow in. Rocky fell to the ground again with a thud. You could be blind and still tell that Justin cared, especially since this Pokemon was having such a rough go at things. I didn't expect that... That was my fault there, eh bud. He sighed, returning the fighting Pokemon. He held the ball before clicking it back on his belt. Been making too many mistakes lately, and my Pokemon have been paying for it. Looks like i'm trying to train up when I should be pulverizin'. He growled.
The monster of Justin's rage was obviously the tattooed Gyarados. His scarred knight, more like it. Justin did his best to not let his face betray what was about to be released, and instead took a mere step back to give the beast more room, and then clicked the ball open. Before the outline of the Gyarados was revealed, Dayn was already roaring. Having taken a liking to the underdog fighter, Dayn was sympathetic due to his species, and even friendly towards the new Mon on the team. They had sort of adopted him, especially since Justin kept the same circle of Pokemon, rarely training up another.
Dayn snarled down at the Goldeen, and fire burned in his eyes. Dragon Rage. I want to make sure something else doesn't happen... He murmured, shoving his hands in his pockets with the guilt of his fainted Pokemon fiasco. It wasn't even about whatever 'rumors' were going around. Justin wasn't too fond of letting his comrades down. He'd go beat up the fish himself if he could, but that wasn't the way to handle things. Perhaps the Unovan fighter wouldn't be as mad at him if one of his friends avenged his faint and loss. [/blockquote]

Staring at Justin as he had a brief apology with his Pokemon, Irene raised an eyebrow. Perhaps this guy wasn't at his peak and was going through something of a rut? The rumours had really pegged him out to be something else than what she was seeing. The failure to predict her flail assault was a good oversight. However, before she could open her gob to annoy the Aussie ace, the arrival of her next Pokemon had made her put a sock in it completely. Her mouth gaping ajar, she looked up with her neck straining as the monstrous sight of his leviathan like Gyarados stared down at her with a fearsome roar. One that was filled with a retaliatory vengeance. Hearing his next words, Irene's eyes seemed to go from cowering to that of a glimmer of excitement. "Dragon Rage...?!" Her words were but a faint whisper of a breath. Snapping out of her surprise, she quickly turned to her Goldeen with a snappy order. "QUICK GOLDEEN! Don't let this overgrown shrimp get the attack in, if we can bamboozle it with your Flail then it should be light's out just like it was for its muscle head friend!" Acknowledging her trainer's excitement, the koi fish would have loved to attack but even it couldn't stop trembling at the intimidating sight of the Gyarados. Gulping with hesitation, it was only when Irene yelled out that the Goldeen began to rampage forward as it had done in the round previous. "Goldeen... Please! You're better than the Gyarados. Size doesn't matter and neither does looks. Show this gargantuan monster what we're all about just like all the others!" However, Dayn was not amused and was clearly not going to let the Goldeen even get an inch close to him. Angrily staring at the Goldeen with a low sounding murmur of a roar, the warmth of the sun seeming to disappear as Dayn's very body seemed to suck it up towards his lengthy being, it enshrouded him in a shimmering aura. Seconds later, his eyes began to glow a powerful colour just as a light emanated from the depths inside his mouth. The roar getting louder, it was only as he summoned up a draconian hell-fire that it exploded into a fully fledged yell. Forming the blueish white fire into what looked like the head of a dragon, the stream of deadly flames bathed the flailing Goldeen in their rampant fury. As the dragon's fire began to die down, all that could be seen was the lifeless body of the ace trainer's Pokemon sprawled on the ground. "Wow...! You were holding back on me after all. What other Pokemon do you have on ya?! Are they all packin' moves like that?! C'mon! I spent ages tracking you down so the least you can do is show off some." Speaking of showing off, she had a rather uncommon sight of her own to flash off. "Tell you what, seeing as i've got to switch Pokemon, let me do you a trade. I show off a rare sight just so long as you do as well." Throwing the Pokeball high up into the air before being eclipsed by the sun, the Pokeball eventually opened up and summoned forth her next champion. Possessing a much more intimidating and threatening sight that the Goldeen before it, this fish was in no doubt a majestic king of the sea. "Go! Seaking!" Leering its eye, the Seaking was clearly angered by what damage its precious partner Goldeen had been put through. Its sharp horn glinting with the sun's light, it was clear that it was going to be putting that weapon to use soon if it had any doing in the matter. Trainer Battle

((Please take soothe bell off Dayn and put on Simba, thanks!))
Still feeling the guilt of letting Rocky down, Justin shoved his hands in his pockets, willing to grapple with the fish himself. However, Dayn had taken care of the Goldeen. With the threat eradicated, the monster turned back to him with a satisfactory smirk, something of a sight, especially with his tattoos. Good job, buddy. Justin smiled, reaching up to pat the dragon on the chin before Dayn slithered to get off the battlefield, still interested in watching the rest of the fight. Justin leaned against the monsters body, letting his right hand rub the dragon's scales absentmindedly while he listened to Irene.
A bit better now that Goldeen was down and Rocky avenged, he gave a little grin. Heh, I told ya Rocky was the newest addition. He's tha baby of mah rag-tag group. Dayn's my right hand man. Er, fish. Dragon? Serpent? Whatever he is. Justin chuckled. Lemme see.. He thought about it for a moment, before whipping out a pokeball. He may not be exotic, but he's my best mate. He grinned, throwing it to release his usual side-by companion, Simba. The young Lion stood still, obediently waiting his next move. Simba prepared to face off against the Pokemon, but Justin halted for a second, taking the bell around Dayn's neck scale off and putting it on Simba.
That's a right beaut ya got there! Justin grinned, whipping out his camera to take a few shots before the match continued. Too bad my boys and I are gonna take it down. His confidence returned, Justin released Simba to battle, with the first command of a Spark. [/blockquote]

Vs. Ace Trainer Irene- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Irene nodded, though she was incredibly impatient to see what else Justin had in store for her. Her Seaking waved her fins around as well, looking eager to gore something with her sharp, wonderfully crafted horn. She and Goldeen were quite tight, and the fact she had been summoned meant that Goldeen had fallen... it was enough to get her fired up and raring to destroy whatever this blonde ruffian had to offer. Dayn's retreat from the field was disappointing to Seaking, but she would have to deal with it if she were to avenge her fallen comrade.
Her trainer studied Simba carefully, deeming the lion-like Pokémon a little plain when it came to looks. She'd have to wait and see what he fought like before completely dismissing him. "Ha! Don't get too cocky now just because you've taken out one Pokémon! Seaking and I have trained quite hard and she's gotten very tough," the woman boasted, patting her fish partner affectionately.
Seaking shrank back a little as Simba glanced her way, his ability kicking in and intimidating his opponent. The deadly gleam in his eyes was rather frightful, but there was no room to be scared here. She moved forwards, determined not to show weakness. "Let's get started with a powerful Horn Attack!" Irene commanded. Seaking shot forwards, lowering her head as she went, while Simba grinned and leapt forwards, deciding to meet halfway with his own attack.
Electricity covered his body as he ran, almost stopping Seaking in her tracks; one of her mortal weaknesses. But Irene would be so disappointed if she pulled out, and she pressed on, her horn stabbing into the fur in Simba's chest as he turned slightly to ram the giant goldfish in the face with his hard shoulder, the colliding attacks causing a small cloud of dust to explode out from the point of impact.
Simba coughed as he staggered out of the cloud, grimacing from being stabbed but otherwise appearing alright. Seaking had taken the brunt of the damage, barely able to move as static sparks leapt across her body, indicating that not only had the attack been majorly harmful, but it had also effectively paralyzed her. Irene's face fell as she took this in, but put on a brave face as she addressed Justin. "Well played... Seems like now that you've recovered the upper hand you plan on keeping it."

The Seaking would be a formitable opponent, but Justin had chose Luxio for a reason. Sure, Luxio could obliterate the Seaking within a few moves, but also, he was close to evolution, and Justin could see it in every bone of the lions body. He was antsy, and full of energy to help get him over that cusp to the other side. Perhaps this battle with Irene's Seaking would help him get towards his goal. That, and it was the first ball he'd chosen. So... yeah. She wanted something exotic, why not a lion?
Sorry he ain't too flashy lookin', but he's one of my rarer ones. I figured you'd wanna see 'em. Aint seen anyone with one. He chuckled, patting the lion on the head before they clashed in the Pokemon battle. As always, Electric trumped the water, and even managed to paralyze the Seaking in front of him. Justin huffed. Why didn't that ever happen in a gym battle? Geez. Luxio stood proudly, waiting for his next order. I wanted ta get the upper hand, but you've been an awesome partner. The way you commanded that Goldeen, completely blew me outta the water, kid. He chuckled, accent slurring his words occasionally. Caught me and poor Rocky off guard. Kudos! Now Simba, lets finish with a Spark. [/blockquote]

The situation was pretty bad. Irene glanced at the field, not wanting to admit the obvious, but she was finally beginning to see the truth. She was hopelessly, hilariously outgunned. But she was an Ace Trainer, and Ace Trainers don't just give up. Puffing out her chest, she locked her gaze on Justin's and announced, "Don't think this is over, Justin Pryce! I won't let you beat me so easily!" Turning to her weary Seaking, Irene commanded, "Let's show him our mettle, girl! Take that lion down with your Poison Jab!"
The Seaking nodded wearily, still hurting from the last attack. Turning back to face Simba, the frilled fish mustered up all of her energy, forcing her tired and paralyzed body to move. But Simba was still full of energy and ready to go, darting forward with his fur sparking before the Seaking had even begun to prepare her attack. With a resounding crack, the electricity jumped from the Luxio's fur to the water Pokemon's body, frying the fish and draining what little energy she had left.
"Wh-what?!" Irene gaped, staring at her fainted Pokemon and trying to comprehend how so laid-back of a trainer had managed to beat her so effortlessly. "I lost? After all the time I spent tracking you down so that I could beat you... I lost?!" Shaking her head, the trainer recalled her Pokemon and walked up to Justin, holding out her hand for a handshake as a gesture of her accepted loss. "I suppose it's to be expected. We've still got a long way to go before we'll be able to beat someone like you. I'm glad I got to challenge you, though. It's certainly been an eye-opening experience." Flashing a smile, Irene tossed him an envelope before turning and waving over her shoulder. "Next time, I won't loose so easily, though!"

(Please switch out Rocky for Gallade in box, por favor. Thanks!))
The battle had been rough to begin with, but once Justin screwed his head on straight, he'd taken a bit of an advantage with Luxio. It was 'a good battle, so don't worry 'bout it. Just come track me down again sometime, a'ight? We can battle again. he grinned, holding out his hand to shake hers. After, Justin knelt down to scratch Simba behind the ears before returning both Gyarados and Luxio to walk about some more. He waved to Irene, who was prolly going to head to the Pokemon Center, while Justin wandered about to find something else.
Lets see, I got a Ditto, and now all I gotta do is train up. He sighed. Easier said than done. [/blockquote]

The sudden feeling of its head tipping forward caused the Pokemon to snap awake with a slight jerk of his head. Shaking its head to try and clear away the drowsiness, the Abra rubbed its eyes ruefully, stifling a yawn. Though its eyes remained closed, its mind was as alert as ever as it tried to distinguish any life forms nearby, letting out a sigh as it realized it was still all alone. Business today sure was slow for the poor Abra. It remembered its business used to be booming among the many wild Pokemon around the area. But just one wrong prediction and everybody is a critic, the Abra snorted to itself, flicking its tail in annoyance. So what if I didn't forsee that Rattata's tail getting chopped off, it's not like he died, the Psychic Pokemon muttered to itself, looking sulky. Ever since then, not many Pokemon came to it seeking advice. Suddenly, its ears pricked up as it heard footsteps coming along. Through its mind-eye, the Abra sensed an incoming human. A customer! the Abra exclaimed in delight, instantly straightening up. He may not be a Pokemon, but the Abra wasn't going to be picky. As Justin approached, the Abra tried its best to smile, though it looked more like a forced smirk. "Hello there young traveler, would you like me to read your fortune?"the Abra said, gesturing towards Justin with a hand. Although the Abra was just making a sales pitch, it didn't stop to think that maybe Justin might not understand it... Wild Abra (Lvl 16) appeared!

Rocky and Simba had their turn for a few goes, so Justin returned them, recalling his old friend Surreo, with the scars hidden by his bandanna. The Gallade stretched and gave a few swipes of his scythe arms before turning to Justin with a warm grin. Hello again, Justin. He greeted warmly, and Justin stepped forward to hug the Pokemon. It was a nice relief, having one of his original team members here, especially the only one that could effectively communicate with him. That was something he really missed. It's good ta see ya, and even better to have someone ta talk to. He chuckled, walking alongside the Gallade.
So I think we're almost ready for the gym. I'd like to gain a few more levels, but I dunno if it'll change anything. The Aussie trailed off, and the Gallade looked at him suspiciously. What does that mean? He asked, and Justin smirked. Doesn't matter, we're still gonna win. A level or two difference, we've got the spunk. He affirmed, though he didn't like the idea of facing a kid. Surreo was about to comment, but his head flicked over to the area to their side, where an Abra approached. He's asking to read your fortune. Abra are finicky creatures, and often teleport, so you shouldn't really have anything to worry about. He grinned, so Justin shrugged and went along with it. Yeah sure, why not?
(Curious to see where anyone goes with this ;P )) [/blockquote]

The Abra narrowed its eyes as it saw Surreo. Just what it needed. Another Psychic Pokemon to rat it out when it so much as made a tiny little lie or embellishment to a fortune telling. Crossing its arms over its chest, it tried to keep an aloof appearance, despite its growing annoyance. 'Very well,' it replied finally, tilting its fox-like head in Justin's direction. 'I warn you, I normally do not do predictions for humans. Your aura is harder to read, and the readings often come out muddled.' Well, now it had given a reasonable excuse if it got the predictions wrong. The Abra really didn't want any more angry customers, especially not ones that had strong Pokemon with them.
Floating into the air, the Abra inched closer, a bit hesitant around Surreo. Now that it thought about it, perhaps this was all just a ruse to get it to lower its guard. Abra had a tendency to teleport out of most trainers' grasps, so some were willing to do anything to get their mitts on one. Trickery was not out of the question. Keeping a watchful tendril of psychic power near the Gallade, the Abra turned its attention to Justin. Raising its hands, it spread its psychic senses out, gazing into the man's very presence. Many images swirled into the Abra's mind, most of past events, some more recent than others. A few seemed to come from the future, but they flickered and seemed blurred, as if not yet decided. 'Justin Andrew Pryce,' the Abra finally spoke, deadening its voice to sound as if it was in a trance. 'You will soon face a fierce fight against a powerful opponent. Have faith in your Pokemon, and they will guide you through.' It was vague, and really could have meant anything, but it was the future. The Abra hesitated, wondering just what the human and his Gallade would do now. If they attacked, it was more than ready to flee...

Justin crossed his arms and watched as the Abra 'read' his fortune. He believed in Psychic Pokemon. Not humans, but Pokemon had powers beyond his comprehension. He'd more readily believe a Pokemon then he would a human. But just in case the Abra had any funny ideas, Surreo was watching him, but said nothing. Heh i'm pretty excited. Justin usually went along with anything. He was easily gullible, but it was a Pokemon, so whose to say it wasn't lying?
He would face tough times ahead, eh? That was a given, but still. A wild Pokemon just read his fortune. Abra teleported almost instantly, and here he was speaking and talking with one. Nice! A bit vague, but it is the truth, ain't it? He grinned. Surreo glanced at his trainer and rolled his eyes. Either way, you've probably just made his day, Abra. Surreo cast this thoughts to the Abra. We won't fight you. You're welcome to come along with us if you'd like, or find another being to read. Either way, do whatever you'd like. We're training for the Gym Battle ahead so that's probably what he's believing you're reading on. They did have a match coming up.. Good day, fellow Psychic. See ya, Abra! Thanks again! [/blockquote]

Surprisingly, Justin and Surreo didn’t choose to attack. Instead, they offered the fox-like Pokémon a chance to tag along with them. Although it appreciated the offer, it would have to decline. It had worked hard as a fortune-teller its whole life and it wasn’t ready to leave the area until its good name had been restored. With a brief wave, the psychic-type vanished into thin air. There was no point in hanging around after all.
Suddenly, a loud huff came from behind Justin. A Ditto had been waiting in line to have its fortune read but before it could approach Abra, the fox had vanished. The transform Pokémon didn’t take long to decide to place the blame on the trainer in front of it. Humans were always causing trouble. Justin had probably scared Abra away when he offered the chance to go with him. Now it had come all this way for nothing.
The gelatinous blob began to circle Justin, an irritated look spread across its vestigial face. It certainly wasn’t going to let him get away with this. While it was interested in taking the shape of Surreo to battle against him, Ditto had learned that sometimes it was better to wait. There was always a chance that Justin had something more powerful. Either way, Ditto needed to get revenge before it would search for Abra again.
A wild Ditto (Level 19) wants to battle!

Justin watched the fox Pokemon teleport, relieved conflict had been avoided. After all, by the way they were plowing through the wild Pokemon around here, it seemed as though Justin and his team would steamroll over the wild Abra. The interaction was brief and interesting though. Surreo turned his head almost immediately, eyes narrowing as he glared in the direction of the Ditto. It watched him, and he could tell the creature wanted to battle him. However, he wanted nothing to do with battles today. It was too beautiful to break a sweat. One of Justin’s other Pokemon could battle it out. Ditto wishes to battle with you. It likes strength, I’d suggest sending it up against Dayn. The psychic muttered to Justin’s mind.
Sounds like a plan. If it makes it that far. He chuckled, letting his Serpent outo f it’s pokeball. The angry dragon gave a roar, and glared down at the Ditto. His tattoo’d brow narrowed and he turned to Justin for his orders. Give it a Dragon Rage. He suggested, taking a few steps back. He wanted to catch a good picture of this, and perhaps the Ditto’s expression. Surreo knew what Justin was doing. He wasn’t trying to steamroll this Pokemon, like it seemed. Surreo had mentioned that the Ditto liked power, from the thoughts it had been thinking, so he pit him up against Dayn to give the Ditto something powerful to turn into. Yes, Surreo was powerful, but if you judged by looks, Dayn would always win the fight any day.

Ditto shrunk back as Justin summoned Dayn to the battlefield. Had it taken on more than it could handle? After giving it a few seconds of thought, Ditto decided to continue fighting. It wanted retribution for their actions. Who knew how long it would take to find Abra again? Besides, once it transformed into a Gyarados, it could always just squeeze Justin to death. It became even keener on the idea as it noticed that the trainer was readying himself for a photograph.
Dayn was clearly the quicker of the two. The dragon-like Pokémon pulled his head back and fired a dominating beam of dark-coloured energy at his foe. Ditto trembled in fear as the attack consumed it. However, as the blast faded, it was surprised to find itself still standing. Now convinced that it had a chance, Ditto took a moment to study Dayn’s appearance. It began to glow as it morphed into a carbon copy of its opponent. Now, it was time to make a much more important decision. Should it proceed to attack Dayn next or would it be more satisfying to go for Justin? Battle
