I think even though I'm a freak for the anime, I actually prefer the games cause it's not always the same character every generation. Ash is getting kinda boring. Plus, what the anime does makes no sense to me. For example, a Pikachu can NOT learn Volt Tackle. It is an egg move.

Infinitely the games. The anime has its moments but ultimately its nothing more than a cash cow used to propagate merchandise and the franchise. There's a reason why the story is somewhat basic and they keep using Ash despite the fact he should very well by rights have grown up after all this time. The producers fail to realise that people who have been watching since the very beginning are still around and thus think its okay to keep recycling Ash. But then again, why not? To kids, he has a very appealing ambition that is pretty much timeless and spans beyond generations. As a kid, did you not want to be a Pokemon master? Or to catch them all? Or to be the very best? The games are a whole different kettle of fish.

I firmly believe that if they "grew up" the Pokemon anime a bit, it could be even more of a success. Even if they kept Ash around, finally let him age a couple years. Make it a bit less cheesy a bit more like the games. That the anime could be just as good as the games.. but, until then, I like the games better.

Definitely the games. The anime is just way too overly cheesy, poorly written (in my opinion), and childish for me to find any enjoyment in anymore. I watch it every now and then if I'm up early and there's nothing else on TV, but that doesn't mean I approve of it. I also agree that Ash is starting to wear a bit thin. If they are so dead-set on continuing the anime, they should either get a new main character or at least let Ash grow up a little bit instead of being stuck at age 10 forever.
I think that if the anime was more like that anime trailer for B2W2, then it would be a greater success. But I doubt that they'll try to make an anime like that trailer anytime soon. So until they do something to make the anime slightly redeemable, my vote will still go to the games.

Hehe, looks like Games beats anime. And yes, it would of been better if they had aged Ash. He should be at least 15 by now. And why does his Pikachu keep reverting back to level 1 at the beginning of every generation?

I love them both but the anime is slowly going. I hope if they have a 6th gen they make new characters. Kind of like what they did with Yugioh

Ya, I know what you mean. Like when it gets close to the end of generation 5, we see a few generation 6 Pokemon.

Yeah that would be awesome I would love to see an adult version of Ash somewhere as well.
