Bit of an odd question I know but who cares, i'm an odd person. In the games which gender do you usually play as? Throughout all the games i've usually played as the male on my first playthrough and if I get one of the other versions I may give it a spin as a female trainer just to vary up the game a bit. Overall i'd definitely say I pick the male sprite in the games (Although I absolutely abhor Gen IV's male character's hat... Rubs me the wrong way so badly). I sort of ask this as i've noticed an increased surge in members creating profiles of the opposite gender here. Just something that interests me I guess.

I always play as myself unless I'm doing a challdnge on an emulator. I like putting myself in my games. The only exception is Sapphire. I played as a girl in that for some reason.

Character design perhaps? The Gen III female trainer sprite is actually my favourite one out of them all.

I don't know if that's why. The female character in Crystal is my favourite design. The R/S/E female character is okay. I don't like her hair though. It looks like she shaved the back of it, lol. I like the FR/LG female character though besides her hat. I don't like the D/P/Pt male character's hat, scarf and handbag. I don't know anyone that does. He's way too feminine. He's my least favourite male character by far.

I usually play as the male character simply to reflect myself. I've played as the female character a couple times, but only on Crystal and Emerald. I honestly don't like the designs for either of the characters in DPPt. Their clothes are so poofy and french. They just don't look like normal kids. Plus, with the addition of wi-fi, I'd never want myself to be portrayed as a female. Time for the big battle...as Susie. Bleh.

I always play the girls ever since Krystal first got added in Pokemon Crystal. i dunno, playing as the guy doesn't feel nearly as good as it does the girl. ^_^

I play as the girls because they look better generally. But in HGSS, I'm playing as 'Ethan' *coughGoldcough* because of that thing Lyra!

I usually play as the boy actually. Lol. I was the girl in Firered, and the boy in Silver, and the boy in SoulSilver :]
I dunno, I like playing boys in rpgs -shrug- The girls I play usually end up a direct version of myself --personality wise-- and it bugs me because they get boring, lol. [/size]

because of that thing Lyra! The Jailbait victim? I always play as the girl... always... even if I regret it like I do now in my HG game. So shameful...

I play as male usually. But I did play female once, cause I loved Dawn's sprite. <3
