Peter sighed as Alex correctly pointed out how weak Tasha was starting to look. “Well, at least this way she’s staying out of trouble,” he acknowledged. “It’s just a shame that the accuracy drop hasn’t hindered the Beautifly at all...” As much as he would have loved for Tasha to win, the odds weren’t in his favour. He’d have to be shrewder with his next Pokémon.
“Tasha, do your best! Try another Gust!” The Pidgey chirped and attempted to steady herself. Meanwhile, Casilk zoomed towards her, picking up speed as he closed in. The Beautifly, once again, successfully hit his opponent, despite the loss of accuracy. The tiny bird was knocked out cold, leaving Peter with just two Pokémon remaining. “Nice try anyway, Tasha!” Peter exclaimed as he switched her out for another Pokémon.
Another birdlike creature appeared where Tasha had been standing previously. This one looked a little tamer but her expression suggested that she was grouchy. “Let’s see if you can handle, Monique,” the trainer declared, quietly shrinking back as he finished speaking. He was still quite concerned that he might be offending Alex so he tried to keep the trash-talk to a minimum. Besides, Monique was opinionated enough for both of them. Battle

As the Pidgey was defeated, Alex was glad that the battle was over, up until the opponent send out the next Pokemon. A Spearow, he thought, he have one himself, but today was not the day to have a chit chat with a stranger about a Pokemon they both have. And plus, he was looking for Pokemon to train his Bulbasaur and Dustox, who are quite type-disadvantaged here.
"Beautiflyyy!" the colorful bug squealed happily as he had won the battle, against a pokemon he might have more type-disadvantage. Flapping his wing gently, he blew a light gust of wind on the ground, blowing the cold wind toward the opponent. But more importantly, he was trying to show that he learned Gust.
"Good Job, Casilk! Return!" the trainer held out and returned his pokemon, feeling a bit annoyed by the cold weather. "So you still want to battle after calming your Pidgey down... I'll try to make this fast, then--" he pulled out a Pokeball "-- Kelv, start with an ember!"
Out from the Pokeball, a tannish tortoise came out, and Alex could feel warm standing behind this. At least he won't be cold during this battle with the Spearow.

After Alex swapped pokemon, Beautifly seemed relieved to be sent back into the pokeball. It was clear that the beautifly didn't seem to like the bird pokemon after all, but it managed to faint the pokemon rather quickly. As he sent out the next pokemon, the Torkal stood strong and ready for the fight as it blew out of its nostrils a black and thick smoke to release from inside. As Monique appeared on the field, the Bird Tamer called out an attack after Alex had done, "Monique use Peck attack!" He called out towards the bird pokemon. Monique however was not the first one to attack in the situation as the Torkoal went first. Torkoal inhailed as it began to feel the fire starting to form in its mouth and managed to release it before it caused any damage towards itself. The embers were sent straight for the Spearow as it managed to injure and burned at the spearow's feathers. Making the pokemon wince from the attack as it tried to put out the hot embers. As it was a few frantic moments, before it could successfully put out the fires that could have possibly been created as Monique looked much more relieved. of course some of its feathers had been tattered and burned, and it wasn't happy about this. Once Spearow had recovered from the ember attack the pokemon flew forward as fast as its wings would take it. Monique stretched his head out wide and as far as it could go, with its beak pointing the way, ready for a sharp attack. Once Monique got close enough, the spearow hit the Torkoal hard against the side of the neck. It made the fire pokemon wince from the pain as he tried to shake it off, though it hadn't been as strong as the ember attack as Torkoal remained strong and ready for another move when Alex called out for it. Alex watched as the battle continues. Neither side wanted to say anything. Conversing with this trainer does not matter much to him, but he was surprised to meet another Spearow trainer. This whole situation would have been a lot different if the trainer battle wasn't initiated by an angry bird--Pidgey.
"TORRRkoal!" The tortoise puffed light clouds of smoke through his nose, as if proud of his last move. Got you roasted! This will be fast!
"Kelv, use Ember again!" and finish up this Spearow! he ordered the next move. Then, adding a note and sounding casual, "I have a Spearow myself too, but he prefers to be alone unless it's battling."
Despite saying this, Alex was still mad on the inside for almost getting pecked in the face. He was saying that just being civil, or probably even saying that to pry some information on the Spearow Pokemon he's facing. His mind was also likely watching the Spearow and comparing differences with his in his head.

Vs. Bird Keeper Peter- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
After being verbally assaulted by Alex, the bird-keeper wasn't feeling too jolly, especially since his oh so special butterfly had knocked out young Tasha. He wasn't going to force his birds to bend to his will, they all had their own personalities and who was he to restrain their identities? "If you have a Spearow then you know birds can be unpredictable... no need to be a grouch because of a simple incident," Peter grumbled, his expression matching that of Monique.
She looked extremely indignant about being burnt by this fat old tortoise and was quite eager to teach it a thing or two about messing with a Spearow. "Monique, Fury Attack!" Peter ordered, watching with a tight smile as she flapped her slightly blackened wings and launched herself forwards. Her beak turned white and became quite sharp, Kelvitr noticing this with surprise and trying to withdraw himself into his shell, but moving just a few moments too slow.
Monique's beak struck him twice in quick succession before he was able to fully hide himself, and he felt her land on his shell, as if waiting for him to come out. Frustrated, Monique pushed off and was flying back to Peter when flames came spitting out, hitting her back and legs, knocking her out mid-air and sending her crashing down in front of her shocked trainer. What a dirty trick that Torkoal had pulled!

PS. my torkoal should gain some levels, right? thanks!
Alex inhaled deeply as the tortoise and the bird battled. Then he exhaled quietly while getting his head cool with the cool air. Maybe he should loosen up since he had beaten two of the opponent's Pokemon already, one on one. Ha!
"No--" he spoke, dragging the 'o' sound a little. "Just because I have one Spearow doesn't mean I am knowledgeable on the topic of bird Pokemon." He corrected the trainer, somewhat more politely than his previous upset and disturbed tone.
"Good battle with your Spearow, return Kelv!" he held out a pokeball and swapped for another one in his pocket. "Go, Grenevir!"
Out from the glow of bright light in the snow-white road, a white-ish pokemon came out, with two brown legs and green legs. Her appearance was not at all humanoid, nor insectoid. "Plantoid" might be a more accurate description.
"Snover!" the tree Pokemon greeted happily, waving her arms in the air. Hello!
"This is a Snover, from Sinnoh. But I got her from an offer," he briefly described the Pokemon unfamiliar to this region. "Grenevir, start with a Powder Snow!"
He then exhaled a little, feeling the cool weather. Hopefully the bird guy doesn't have any more Pokemon on him.

Congrats! Kelv gained +3 Lvl for the victory, he is now Lvl 14Kelv learned Curse! The Bird Keeper Peter gave a slight snort at the sight of the Snover. He had never seen such Pokemon, and his own Doduo seemed to tower of the small Christmas-looking tree. Noticing the tufts of green on the Snover's arms, Peter felt a surge of confidence that victory was his this time. "Getting a Grass-Pokemon to fight against my Flying-type?"Peter snickered in disbelief. "Not a wise choice, buddy. Kohl, Rabi, use Peck on it!"he commanded. The two-headed bird let out a squawk before dashing straight towards the Snover. The bird's talons merely skidded lightly across the ground as the much faster bird darted at Grenevir. The Snover knew it was no use trying to dodge the speedy bird and could only hold up her arms defensively as the the two heads' beak jabbed at her. Peter let out a triumphant laugh. If this kept up, the Snover would be down in no time. However, in his gloating, he didn't notice that the Snover had inhaled deeply and the air around the battle area seemed to grow colder. It wasn't until it was too late that Peter realized that his victory may not be so certain anymore. The Doduo let out a cry of shock and pain as Grenevir blew icy snow straight into the bird's face, causing the bird to stumble back. "What?! It can use Ice-type moves?!"Peter uttered, dumbfounded as his Doduo tried to dislodge the icy cold snow from its feathers. However, Kohl and Rabi didn't get a chance to recover as the sky above the battlefield darkened even more and icy hail began to pelt down from the sky, smacking against the bird painfully. Grenevir, on the other hand, let out a happy trill as she didn't seemed bothered by the sudden snowing. --------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- Pokemon BattleWeather= Hail

Upon seeing that both his Snover and the opponent's Doduo hit quite hard toward each other, Alex felt a bit unsatisfied with his current strategy. It is true that he can finish the opponent and leave the battle in one hit, but he felt embarrassed on the inside that the Doduo was faster and he could have slowed the bird with a soft blow of icy wind.
Hiding his mistake, he began talking away about the current battle, whilst hoping to sneak in some healing potion.
"Mm-hmmm" he began. "Snover is part ice and part grass type, meaning the species can utilize the both ice moves and grass moves. It's a good type coverage, too bad you don't have a fire type on you, right?" He moved closed to his pokemon as he talked, while stealthily unstrapping the backpack from his shoulder.
"Your Pokemon are not terrible too, they usually are faster than grass types," he complimented. Totally being sly. Was this even morally good? This is just a pokemon battle, right? Not saving lives, should he care the morality? He thought as he spoke, and inching closer to his Grenevir as he commented. But then he probably don't care anymore, since he was compensating his mistake for overlooking the speed and type disadvantage. "They might be a little reckless like your Pidgey and your Spearow. Just watch out that they don't break people's faces." He reminded the bird keeper of the earlier incident which led them to this battle.
At last, with his body behind his Pokemon, he kneeled down on the snow and quietly unzipped his backpack, pulling a potion and let Grenevir sipped the juice. Not wanting the litter to be seen, or his action was too stupidly and obviously noticed already, he placed the trash back in his backpack, to dispose later. He knew littering could be troublesome in this city.
"Grenevir, use Powder Snow again!" he sighed, hoping to finish this battle quickly. He's done being angry. He wanted to stay warm in Pokemon Center.

Peter frowned when he heard Alex talking about the Snover's type combination. Ice and Grass together just didn't seem possible. But then, there were lots of odd type combinations, he supposed. Shrugging, the bird keeper scowled slightly, crossing his arms over his chest as he huffed, "That somehow doesn't seem fair."
Maybe he was just being bitter about having his first two birds beaten. Peter reached a hand up, rubbing at his face as he closed his eyes and sighed wearily. His birds were a handful sometimes - if sometimes meant all the time. He was so preoccupied with trying to maintain composure that he completely missed Alex giving a Potion to Grenevir.
Kohl and Rabi, on the other hand, did not. The two-headed bird squawked in protest as they realized that their opponent was getting healed. Glaring at the Snover, the two birds shrieked at the top of their lungs, expressing their anger in an ear-piercing Growl that was only intensified as the pelting hail struck the bird mid-attack, adding pain to the mix. Grenevir flinched away from the angry birds, shuddering as her attack fell slightly.
"Kohl! Rabi! It's rude to shout!" Peter snapped, scowling at the Doduo. The bird merely huffed at its trainer, both heads rolling their eyes at how oblivious he was. "Calm down. You'll get to attack soon enough. No need to get all impatient... Use another Peck. That should finish him."
Kohl and Rabi were all too eager to oblige. The Doduo hurled itself forward, barreling toward Grenevir at breakneck speed. Once they were within range, the two heads grappled to attack first, both jabbing their beaks at the Snover. Grenevir staggered back, a slight cry on her lips as the attacks took their toll. In the same breath, she summoned forth an icy attack, letting it build before launching the powdery gale at the Doduo. Even with her attack lowered, the damage was too much for the Doduo, and the two-headed bird teetered and fell.

OOC: No Grasswhistle please! Ew, That move is weird.
IC: Alex thought, thankfully this battle was over. He had been standing in this cold weather freezing his face off for who knows how long. And then this sudden trainer almost broke his face with that flying pidgey assault. Thankfully this was all over.
Impatient to be warm again as he don't like the cold. He congratulated his Grenevir as she danced happily at the victory. And by dancing, the Snover was leaping one leg left and right on her spot while clapping her arms. He pocketed the prize money and quickly got himself out of the battlefield.
Before he leave though, he left the trainer a comment, "Just watch out for Pokemon from other regions, they're getting more popular now." He sounded calm, but probably still hold a small grudge on the near attack.
Then, picking up his pace, he began to leave like he had intended. No more delay now, it's cold out here.
After participating in an unexpected criminal investigation of Pokemon abuse, Alex finally made his way back to Violet City again. He wasn't sure how a human could abuse Pokemon given how much elemental power they have, but he would be most likely guess with the help of technologies.
Pausing in the Fishing Jetty of Route 32, he stretched and set his backpack down. Then, he tossed his old rod to the body of water, hoping to catch something interesting, as he had never caught a wild Pokemon purely from fishing before.

Nothing was biting at first. Seconds turned to minutes. Minutes turned to hours. It was a lazy, peaceful Autumn afternoon, but it wouldn't last forever. The water rippled suddenly. Something had taken notice of the male trainer.
Peeking up from amidst the Lilly pads, a blue tadpole with wide eyes and a spiral on its belly observed Alex keenly. The Water type enjoyed challenging trainers that encroached upon the banks of its home, so it was with a mischievous glint in its eye that it ducked back down and propelled through the water. Getting close enough to tug on the fishing line, taunting the fisher by tangling it in the underwater plants. Then it circled around and leapt out of the water a few feet away, slapping its tail on the ground a few times to make sure it had Alex's attention. When it knew his eyes were on it, it smiled and squirmed with excitement. "Polliiiiiii!" Clearly it wanted a battle.

At first, his Old Rod didn't move much at all in the still water, but after a while... he felt a wiggle! He looked closer and realized the rod didn't even move, instead, it was an amphibious aquatic Pokemon known as Poliwag peeking from the water. After a little hectic fight, he realized the Pokemon was playing with his fishing rod! How rude! A rude human he usually don't even pay attention to them way before their rudeness, but a rude Pokemon would be troublesome.
He observed the Poliwag as it taunted on land to grabbed his attention. The Pokemon was rather small but had incredible swimming ability, at least better than him. In addition, the water Pokemon could easily walk on land as well as swim in the water. He knew he would have to catch this one.
But first, he and the wild Pokemon would need to prove to each other. Withdrawing a Pokeball from his pocket, he clicked the button and released his flying Pokemon, Scarout the Spearow. "Speearrow!" the brown Pokemon greeted the Poliwag, completely skipping the greeting with Alex. That he didn't mind, since the Scarout rarely flew away on his own.
"Alright, Scarout, start with a Peck! Watch out that this Pokemon can dive under water." he smiled and put one hand in his pocket, beginning to observe what this water Pokemon could really do.

The tadpole Pokémon bowed its head to acknowledge Scarout’s greeting. Its wide grin was still intact which suggested that it was perhaps a bit overconfident. Poliwag was still young and had little experience in battling creatures that didn’t live in the sea. This battle would be less predictable but the water-type was sure it would be able to handle it, regardless.
Poliwag got a slight adrenaline rush as Alex issued the attack with an added warning. Before it could decide on a move, it watched as its foe darted in its direction. Scarout carefully targeted the swirl on the water-type’s body, his beak glowing as he closed in on it. Poliwag was forced back into the water with a loud splash. The Spearow had landed an impressive first strike.
The sea immediately refreshed the tadpole Pokémon who wasted no time in retaliating. It sprung straight back out from the water, pelting Scarout with a Bubble attack. It managed to land a hit but its foe didn’t seem to take much damage. Battling on land was more difficult than it originally thought. Battle

Not surprisingly, Alex knew that Scarout was the faster one to strike and the Poliwag would go in and out of the water as predicted. What he needed to do now was continue his weakening of the water Pokemon.
Looking up at the sky where his Spearow was, he ordered his flying Pokemon to attack again, "Scarout, go for another Peck! Try not to faint it though!"
Scarout cooed softly and kept his eyes on the Poliwag, who appeared to be a young battler. If the water Pokemon would use the water for its advantage, the bird would use the sky.

Alex was lucky to have speed on his side. Poliwag could tell that Scarout had dealt more damage in the previous turn and decided to change its strategy. The tadpole attempted to make eye contact with the avian but he was already after taking off. The Spearow’s glowing beak made it impossible for the water-type to focus and before it knew it, Poliwag was struck once again.
However, this time it managed to hold its ground which gave its foe no chance to escape. Poliwag’s eyes finally began to light up a blue colour. Unfortunately for Alex, Scarout couldn’t help but look and instantly dozed off. The water-type looked smugly at the Spearow’s trainer. The tables had turned now. People often underestimated the power of wild Pokémon. Battle
