OOC: Hello mod! Some quick changes before my thread gets started Torkoal should be level 11 and Lombre should be level 13 as in this threadAlso, swap Snivy with Snover, thank you very much for your assistance! IC: Status: Route 32 After his battle with the red-haired trainer back in Route 31 outside of Cherrygrove City, he can feel the seasonal change reaching Violet City. The weather change will soon reach Cherrygrove too, he thought. After he stepped foot in Violet City, Alex began his typical routine: checking in Pokemon Center and renting a room, putting his luggage and organize his travelling/adventuring backpack, as well as treating his pokemon their meals. After he had finished his travelling chores, he locked the door of his rented room and ventured outside, heavily covered by his jacket and long pants. He could see the obnoxious Sprout Tower in the distance, and he'll definitely keep physical distance from any wandering monks around the area. However, this cold weather have sparked something delicious in his head. The cold season is inviting to hungry souls for a bowl of warm noodles. He made himself to a rather busy business district to eat a warm bowl of noodles. Flavorings, vegetables, slippery noodles, warm smoke-- everything he loves about noodles! It took him a little more than an hour to finish two big bowls of them! With the sun still up in the sky, he was ready to warm up himself. He arrived at Route 32, readied to train some of his pokemon, so that he can fight in this gym leader thing he have heard about.

The cold winter breeze rustled the trees, awakening the critter from its sleep. The arachnid let out a slight shudder as cold snow managed to break through the canopy and drift down into clumps, clinging onto its web. The threads on its web seemed to glisten as frost lined the edges. The Spinarak's pincers snapped with irritation as one of its legs nearly slipped along the icy thread and it managed to keep from plummeting to the ground by hanging from a newly spun thread. Feeding out more thread behind it, the Spinarak slowly descended down the tree branch, its bright, beady eyes alert for any signs of danger. However, given its luck, the thread it was hanging from suddenly snapped as a particularly icy wind froze the web. With a squeal, the Spinarak plummeted to the ground, landing into a pile of soft snow. The impact sent up a puff of powdery snow into the air as the spider scrambled onto its feet, somewhat winded. Blinking rapidly as it managed to get its bearings back, the Spinarak realized that a human Trainer was practically right in front of it. The Spinarak bristled in alarm and it snapped its pincers at Tiki, hoping to scare the Trainer away. Wild Spinarak(Lvl 9) Appeared!

As the Spinarak attempted to scare Alex away, it had the opposite effect. In fact, the half bug-maniac was quite excited to see a bug pokemon in this cold of a weather. He gasped happily, but quickly closed his mouth when the cold air get into his lungs. Nope, it's cold.
Seeing this arachnid pokemon, he felt ready to train his pokemon.
"Go, Grenevir!" he tossed a pokeball into the frosty air, a mostly white pokemon with green arms and brown legs pop out.
The young tree pokemon planted her feet on the ground, and happily waved both hands in the air, as she enjoyed the cold weather. She then noticed the bug pokemon, and lowered one arm down and waved at the Spinarak.
Alex noted the behavior of this new pokemon he got from a trade, and continued his battle mood.
"Grenevir, start with a Powder Snow!" he ordered, putting his hands into pockets to keep warm.
Seeing this is her first battle with this new trainer, the Snover tucked in her feet and span on the snowy ground. Snow from the ground and her head were tossed toward the bug pokemon. She combined the element from the environment and how she would normally attack.

The Spinarak shivered in the snow, the cold weather affecting the tiny spider. The bug Pokemon was definitely not suited for such weather. Unfortunately for it, Grenevir was right at home in the snow. The Spinarak seemed nice enough to her, so she figured this would be a nice friendly bout. Spinning in place, she kicked up a great deal of snow, casting it in the spider's direction. The Spinarak was hit with a clump of damp, sticky powder, and was sent tumbling backward.
Clicking its mandibles in both anger and cold, the Spinarak extracted itself from the snow, shivering more now that it had been tossed about in such a manner. Anger and fear motivated the tiny bug Pokemon, and it shot several small purple needles in the Snover's direction. All of them hit their mark, and Grenevir staggered back away from the attack, crying out softly in pain. She quickly tugged the needles out, and just in time too, as the poison might have entered her system had they stayed in much longer.

Alex watched the battle unfold, as well as being cautious of any attacks that might hit him. Fortunately, the poison sting projectiles did not hit the trainer. The trainer smiled at the battle, he will have to see what Spinaraks really can do before he catch one himself... but for now, he will train for gym battles.
"Grenevir, keep up with another Powder Snow!" he ordered, and also backing up a bit from the small build of snow in front of him. While Powder Snow from Snover sends snow to enemies, some snow builds up behind the tree pokemon.
Though the poison sting reminded him of something that he almost forget from the excitement of the meal earlier, poison attack is not to be underestimated.

Nodding to her trainer's command, Grenevir turned to face her opponent, wondering just why the tiny spider seemed to be shaking. She didn't seem to understand that her 'friendly bout' was a full blown battle, and that the Spinarak was not suited for the cold in the way she was. She also didn't understand that the moment she had stepped onto the field, icy hail had begun to plummet from above, striking the Spinarak and damaging it. To her, this was average weather. Hopping into a patch of fresh powder to her left, she spun again, kicking up more snow. The spider did a valiant job of dodging, but eventually, it was hit and knocked backwards again.
Anger had given way to pain and cold. Its mandibles chattered in the cold, and it began to hope for some way to warm up soon. For now, it would have to resort to attacking. Shifting its legs and scuttling closer to regain some feeling, the Spinarak fired off a few more poisonous barbs. A few more stuck into the Snover's arm, creating a very odd sight. Of course, having been expecting the attack, at least somewhat, Grenevir was quick to pull out the needles and toss them aside. This bout was turning rather serious, she concluded. Of course, she didn't quite have time to do anything else as the hail knocked whatever life was left out of the Spinarak. The tiny spider curled in on itself as it lost consciousness, and rolled down the snowy hill and away from the trainer, hopefully to some place warmer.
Battle! (Weather = Hail) Wild Spinarak | level 9 | Health : 0% (0/28 HP)Status : FaintedAttack : A successful Poison Sting Spinarak was damaged by hail! VS Alex's Grenevir | level 10 | Health : 49% (17/35 HP)Status : NormalAttack : A successful Powder Snow
The wild Spinarak was defeated! Grenevir fought valiantly and gained +2 levels! ((Edit: fixed the battle so Snow Warning came into effect. Sorry about that!))

Grenevir leaped and raised her arms in the air, shouting for joy. She had never realized battles can be so much fun! She couldn't wait for the next battle!
"Snover-Sno!" She danced her victory dance. Little specks of snow fell off her body as she cheered.
Seeing this strange behavior, Alex lightly smiled and congratulated his Pokemon. He held out a Pokeball and returned the pokemon.
Using both hands to grip the straps on his backpack, he smiled at the imagery of his dancing tree pokemon and continued walking on Route 32.

Something was aflutter in the cold winter air of Route 32, something that wasn't normally out and about...
Well, to be precise, it wasn't so much what was aflutter that was interesting, it was who it belonged to. High above Alex, a lone Pidgey circled on the air currents, the bird's precise vision easily pinpointing the creatures on the ground. Noticing the trainer where he walked across the new-fallen snow, the bird tucked her wings, diving toward him. For a moment, it seemed like the Pidgey was going to hit Alex, but at the last second, she flared her wings, shrieking as she stopped inches from his face.
"TASHA!" A voice called out from behind Alex, and a brown-haired youth wearing heavy-duty gloves sprinted over to where the bird was, scowling at her. "You are being very naughty, missie! What's gotten into you lately?" Sighing, the boy turned to face Alex, his expression contrite. "I apologize for Tasha's behavior," he muttered. "She's gotten a bit out of hand lately... Rowdy little thing... Oh, my name's Peter, by the way." The Pidgey, who seemed to be named Tasha, shrieked loudly again, fluttering around Peter's head and pecking at his hair. Swatting at the tiny bird, he continued hastily, "I hate to impose this on you, but would you mind battling with me? It might calm her down some..."
Bird Keeper Peter wants to battle! He sends out rowdy Tasha (level 11)! Choose a Pokemon for battle!

As the pidgey was flying close to Alex, he too, wildly whipped his hands in front of his face as if to brush the crazy pidgey off. Much to both the Pidgey and his luck, he did not slap that fowl in the face nor did the Pidget pecked his eyes out.
"HEY!" he shouted angrily at the seemingly speed-challenged Pidgey. "Watch where you're going!"
However, much to his surprise that this was a wild Pidgey, the pokemon's trainer appeared, even have the audacity to battle.
"If your little Pidgey is getting out of hand, maybe you should get her out of your hand, literally. You'll be up for some risk if she attacks an unprotected civilian if she's not a wild pokemon," Alex angrily retorted, he was almost pecked by a Pidgey!
And to adding to the scene, the not-shy but rude-and-bold Alex shouted, "'Rowdy' little thing? You should think about how you are training your Pokemon then. You want a battle? I'll give you a battle, and be gone once we're done!"
Since Alex's goal was an aspiring doctor for human, he have no time to find other means to cure the belligerent little bird.
He quickly reached into his pockets and pulled out a regular pokeball, and giving an order, "Casilk, Tackle the Pidgey!"
Out of the pokeball, a pinkish and sand-yellow butterfly came out, after having a good and speedy sense of his environment, the beautifly flew toward the pidgey with a warm greeting of tackle.

"I know I know. The Pidgey is certainly a wild one but I'm hoping some training will calm her down, maybe even tire her out for a bit." Peter said as the Pidgey flew nearby him. Tasha was certainly fired up ready for a battle. She was eager to prove her strength and use all she had towards the beautifly as Alex sent the pokemon out. The Beautifly certainly was a beautiful pokemon-no pun in tended. But it certainly had a name for itself for being a popular pokemon. Although Tasha was not impressed by looks as Peter called out an attack, but it was too late by this point. "Tasha use Sand Attack!" Peter called out. As Casilk flew forward with her wings, they seemed very strong as well as they moved the flying pokemon forward. And with every strength in the pokemon's body, the Beautifly pounded the feather pokemon with every thing it had. Making the Pidgey wince and Tasha stepped back a bit to try and recover the attack. She also shook her head a bit to get over it too, for now the pain had dulled, but there was still some pain where Casilk had flown into her. Tasha's turn was up now as the bird pokemon remained on the ground. Using her sharp clawed talon feet, she dug one into the ground, and with her wings, she began to start flapping them to help with the distance of the sand attack. It wasn't long before she kicked up the sand and sent it straight for Casilk. Making the pokemon's accuracy fall as the sand was stinging Casilk's eyes. Wild Pokemon Battle

Alex scoffed rudely, laughing, "Tiring her out a bit? So when she wakes up she's going to annoy people all over again?" His tone certainly was still angry.
Then, when the opponent calls out Sand Attack, he was a bit concerned. Partly was that he was hoping to get the battle over quick, but you can't do that when your pokemon's moves are not hitting accurate with a teasing move.
"Beeuuuuu!" The Beautifly buzzed sharply at the pidgey after getting those malevolent sands in his eyes. Hey watch it! I need to calm you down you know!
He sighed, looks like he would have to plan out how to do this battle now, instead of trying to breeze through it. "Well, you're trying to drag this battle longer, aren't you? Casilk, go for another Tackle!" The bug's trainer ordered, hoping the move would hit.

Peter was taken aback by Alex’s irate tone. He never would have challenged him if he had known how terrifying he was. “No, I-I just thought if I kept training her, maybe we’d be able to put her energy to good use...” Peter lowered his head, afraid to make eye-contact with his opponent. What had he gotten himself into?
The bird keeper shrieked as Alex snapped at him again. “...Well, I never said I wanted to lose. I just wanted to Tasha to channel her energy into the battle instead of getting herself into trouble... I promise I’m not trying to drag this out! I’m just trying to come up with a good strategy! I never meant to upset you!”
Peter slowly turned his head over to Casilk. He could see that Tasha’s Sand-Attack had temporarily distorted his vision. “Let’s try a Gust this time, Tasha!” he ordered, afraid of how Alex would react if he used another Sand-Attack. As the Pidgey prepared to create a mini-whirlwind, she was struck by her opponent once again. She winced as her health dropped even further. Immediately afterwards, she released a Gust attack at the bug-type, dealing a decent amount of damage to start her off. Battle

He listened intently as he rolled his eyes. Something sounds silly in the opponent. Alex don't have the mood and enthusiasm for him.
"You can always channel her energy into Pidgeotto Street Pecking," he hissed sarcastically.
His anger was a bit overshooting him, so after his comment he paused before ordering another attack. Might as well finish up the pidgey who almost assaulted him.
"Casilk, head for another Tackle!" he commanded, "keep a close eye where the Pidgey is!"
"Oh, and maybe we should talk less and just finish the fight with your Pidgey," he added, sounding grumpy.

Peter gaped at Alex's suggestion. "Just... just because Tasha can be unruly doesn't mean she's a bad Pokemon!" he protested. "And I would never order her to go peck random people on the street! That's cruel!" Sighing in resignation, he hung his head. All this trouble over one naughty Pidgey... Maybe he really should have trained her better.
No, he couldn't just give up now! And his training habits weren't so bad! His other Pokemon were alright. Not wanting to upset the boy further, he nervously ordered, "Tasha, that Gust was pretty good. Let's go with that again!" Tasha snorted, hearing the hesitation in her master's tone. The human really didn't understand her. But at least he was better than the challenger. The boy was practically glaring at her. Wasn't her fault that he'd gotten in her way. Spreading her wings, the Pidgey took off again, ignoring the aches and pains across her body.
Casilk was on the move too, though. Flapping his large, colorful wings, he shot forward, slamming hard into Tasha's smaller frame. Shrieking, the Pidgey plummeted to the ground, only to save herself at the last minute with a rather haphazard twist and flare of her wings. Using the momentum and the air caught in her feathers to her advantage, Tasha whipped up a whirlwind, directing it towards the Beautifly. Casilk hissed as the attack took a sizable chunk of his health. Of course, he was better off than Tasha. Having landed, the bird was so weak she could barely stand straight

Alex's facial expression changed a little, as if trying to smile, but then held his fort down to cover up that snide smile. He thought, at least the Pidgey trainer knew some decency to not poke human beings with those sharp beaks. But still bad for someone to not tame their Pokemon.
As the battle unfolds, the contenders exchanged a physical tackle and weak gust of wind. The bug trainer watched as the Pokemon returned to their side of the field. The struggling Pidgey seemed to hint that this fight is almost over.
"Hmm..." he inattentively "listened" while the opponent responded. "Looks like your Pidgey is almost exhausted. Time for her to not endanger people again, right? Casilk! Tackle again!" The trainer ordered, hopefully to put an end to this battle.
His battling pokemon murmured after he had given an order. "Beu! Beu! Beu!" The yellow and purple butterfly buzzed. That's right! Take a break, miss! Of course Alex don't know what the bug was saying, but he felt his Pokemon don't like the bird either. Perhaps the gust earlier was too cold?
