With Alex's departure from the confines of the wetland to a last minute diversion to that of the desert, he was hopefully buckled up for a much wilder walk within the Safari Zone. Stretching on for as far as the eye could see, it was an unbelievable feat in how they managed to terraform so much of this land into that of a fully functioning desert. Given how perfect a replica it was of the real environment, it meant that many Pokemon felt truly at home in such a climate. Over above their head were a number of Fearow circling around in the sky as if waiting for something to fall victim to the terrible heat so that they may prey on its remains. The odd, subtle movements in the corner of the eye seemed to hint towards that this seemingly deserted locale wasn't quite as empty as first thought. If anything, it was SPRAWLING with life. The only problem was, life here had got very good in camouflaging with the sandy landscape. With good reason to, as a sudden pelting of paws against the sand alerted out its presence, one of the area's more fearsome predators had honed in on the intrusion of Alex and the Safari Guide operator. Keeping a distance, the black furred lion let out a mighty roar as if stating to Alex that it had encroached on its territory. Lowering its head with a leer to its eyes, the Pokemon was clearly assessing how Alex would react. Safari Encounter

OOC: Ok, what is this "neutral" thing that was not present before? haha.
IC: Hearing the roar, Alex stopped and looked closely on the field. It was mostly brown, reddish brown, or tan, or some shades of brown word which he forget since some art class he was forced to take.
He focused his eyes and saw a blue, quadrupedal pokemon. Seeing that this was not a pokemon he had seen before, unlike that wooper earlier, he decided to relax himself and enjoy this safari game.
Decided he would try his hand on intimidation instead, he threw a rock at the startled pokemon.
Hack, he didn't even know what this is called. At least the Safari guide cannot read his mind, save the embarrassment...

Intimidating a Pokemon that was often heralded as the king of the wild was perhaps a lesson in futility. Nevertheless, as the rock went flying forward and parted with Alex's hand, the Luxio stood its ground and took the rock head on as it bounced off. To many other animals, such an act would dizzy nay even knock them out but this lion was going to do no such thing. As if receiving a burst of adrenaline from being aggressively hit at, the Pokemon stomped its forelegs down and with a cry to the heavens, sent forward an incredibly humbling roar that was almost able to create visible sound waves. Relenting with the roar after no less than ten seconds, the Luxio gave a nasty snarl to show it wasn't intimidated. The untamed lion's savage eyes leering, it seemed that they would be hear at a standstill for a while if man or beast was going to try and gain dominance over the other through terrorising. Safari Encounter
The Luxio (Level 11) stands its ground. Luxio is currently angry at being lobbed at by x1 Rock. Please select one of the following to proceed:[ Throw Bait ] [ Throw Rock ] [ Throw Safari Ball ] [ Flee ] OOC: Neutral is exactly what it says on the tin. As you've literally just bumped into it, the Pokemon is not agitated nor is it wanting to stay because of bait etc... Just my own little design quirk for encounters right off the bat. =P

As the rock flew from Alex's hand to the blue pokemon, he was surprised to see the quadruple pokemon took the rock head on, and then roared some more. This seemed to be one of those roar-loving, vocal, and proud pokemon that he haven't seen in a while.
Seeing this opportunity, he reached and threw a safari ball. Thankfully the safari zone gave him a huge amount of safari balls, he had a feeling he might be doing rock-and-ball cycle again, not to be confused with rock and roll, unless you count the wobble as rolling.
As the ball went upward, he wondered if this one would be roaring like the growling Lombre earlier. Could it?
OOC: Lombre Name: Lodd Gender: Female Level: 7 Moves: Astonish, Growl, Absorb, Nature Power Ability: Swift Swim Nature/Personality: Quirky Lodd usually is an oddball, consistently doing and saying things not commonly associated. At times observing people or pokemon would think she is childish. Though she battles just like others of her kind.

Alex wasn't too far off the money. Having tried to intimidate the Alex and the safari zone guide off with one of its reputable roars, only to receive a pebble to the head instead, it wasn't going to take too kindly to yet another object being lobbed at it. Observing that it wasn't similar to the rock thrown before, this one having a shiny gleam to it, the lion lowered its posture as it let forward with a mighty roar that was enough to kick up the sandy dust before it. Too bad it didn't do much to dissuade the incoming capture device. Almost landing right in the Pokemon's ajar mouth, the ball instead dabbed it on the muzzle and opened up, bathing it with the glow of the light inside. As it lassoed it in, the Safari Ball fell to the floor with a clang, sealing the sphere back into place. Now all it had to do was process the Pokemon with its typical back and forth sway but this time, in the dunes of the sand. Once... Twice... Thrice...

Blox for now, as usual. (blank and box) thanks! (oh, and if mods want to, go ahead and rp the safari guide i made up)
Status: 26 safari balls, 3 encounter(s), Desert
Both Alex and the safari guide were surprised by the success of the capture, but each for a different reason. Alex was surprised that a simple rock weakened the pokemon for capture, and the guide was surprised that such aggressive pokemon was not cracking out of the pokeball as the trial ones they have conducted.
Alex picked up the pokeball and stored it in his pocket. He examined his little brochure/pamphlet one more time to double check the pokemon that could be found in this sizable niche. Stretching his neck and shoulders, he walked a little further to find another pokemon to torment.

Alex's luck in finding many Pokemon in this hot desert seemed to diminish a bit as the hot sun streamed down, baking the earth like a large oven. Many Pokemon were reluctant to leave their shady dens and risk getting their pelts fried or feet burned. However, one Pokemon seemed to enjoy the hot heat. A somewhat large dog was basking under the sun. The air around it seemed to sizzle as it lay on a particularly large rock, a growl rumbling in its throat to express its pleasure of having a sun bath. The Houndour yawned widely, showing rows of sharp white teeth. Suddenly an unnatural scent hit its nose and the dark dog raised its head lazily, ears pricking as it spotted two humans. Scrambling to its paws, the Houndour's lips curled slightly into a soft snarl as Alex and the Safari Guide drew closer. Somewhat intimidated that they were drawing closer, the dog Pokemon let out a warning bark from atop the rock. The Houndour's fur bristled menacingly as it glared pointedly at the two humans, its aggressive stance clearly showing it didn't welcome them here. With the loud bark from the heat-tolerant pokemon, Alex regained more of his consciousness as the sound seemed to sharply woke him. He felt the depressing heat and spontaneously opened a cooled water bottle he had received for free and gulped down a large sip of cool water. GLULP. GLULP. GULP. Aaaaah~
hhhhh~
Refreshing indeed.
Noticing that this was another quadruple pokemon, he felt the need to bother the opposing pokemon like he had with the roaring pokemon earlier. After wiping the sweat on his forehead, he reached into his pocket and threw a rock, sliding his foot on the sand slightly as he charged himself with power.
Then he noticed that this pokemon was rather smaller than the last one. Perhaps it's an early evolution pokemon. Additionally, he thought he saw this pokemon in Johto before he got into adventuring... What was this called again?

"Looks like you're quite interested in this Houndour,"the tour guide commented mildly, observing Alex as he got ready to throw the rock. The Wild Houndour's eyes narrowed suspciously, watching the human warily. Its stubby tail twitched irritably to see the human was in no hurry to move along. Lips curling, the Houndour showed off its white teeth, hoping the Trainer would understand it wasn't messing around. Suddenly, a rock was thrown from the human and was now hurtling towards the Houndour. A yelp of pain escaped the Houndour as the rock bounced off its head. Feeling a bruise sprout from the area where the rock made contact, the Houndour's eyes teared up in pain. Glaring daggers at Alex, the Houndour took a few menacing steps forward, fur bristling and throat rumbling with a growl. However, the dark dog stopped after a few steps, as it watched Alex with angry, but cautious eyes. It wasn't keen on being hit by another rock again, so it decided it was best it kept its distance from the humans for now. "Heh, not really," Alex responded to the tour guide. "I just throw rocks and balls to any pokemon I don't believe I have seen before."
He was not lying, this had been a working strategy so far. He got himself a Lombre, an electric thing, and now to get this Houndour. Although for a water/ground pokemon like Wooper, he had his preference of other water/ground pokemon. Just not Wooper and Quagsy-something.
Seeing the rock had been thrown, Alex proceeded to his next plan: THROW THE SAFARI BALL! The thought was certainly loud in his imagining head, but his actual, physical approach was cautious. He slipped a hand into the pocket and tossed a safari ball, aiming for the dog.
"Hm, I just don't see the point to throw baits..." he added. "I think they smells funny."

The fire dog blew some steam out of its nose, as if it needed to cool its inside off before impulsively launching a jet of fire at the humans. Its paws shuffled the sandy ground, showing it was nervous, though it tried to mask that by curling its lips to show its razor sharp teeth. Ears pricking as Alex reached for another spherical object, the Houndour though it was another rock and let out a warning snarl. However, this rock had an unnatural metallic look that gleamed bright under the desert sun. Head cocked, the Houndour stood for a second too long and it was too late to flee as the "rock" suddenly snapped open in half. Letting out a startled yelp, the Houndour was enveloped in light before sucked into the Safari Ball. The Safari ball fell back to the ground and began to wobble violently as the Houndour stuggled to free itself. After what seemed like a lifetime, the Pokeball finally closed shut, signifying a successful capture. "Nice going!"the tour guide said to Alex, quite surprised by the outcome. "Let's just hope your Houndour isn't too mad at you for throwing stuff at it,"the guide added jokingly. Congratulations! "Hm..." Alex hummed as he thought of reply. "At least the pokemon earlier and the one before that didn't harm me for throwing rocks at them."
Then, with a sudden, seemingly charged energy, Alex walked forward and pick up the pokeball. The safari guide waved a farewell and turnaround, returning to the vehicle to wait.
"I'll stay in the car. I'll be walkied if you're in danger or something," the guide waved and shouted, then headed in a different direction.
Alone by himself, Alex pocketed the newly caught pokemon and searched for the next dessert resident to throw things at its face.
OOC: decided to rp the guide to let him wait since I would be in desert a while lol.

While Alex was walking through the sandy desert, for some reason, the air around the area where he was walking seemed to be colder. Although the sun was continuing to beat down from the sky and baking the earth, the air had a sort of chill. Suddenly, the air started to shimmer as a ghostly form appeared in midair, letting out a low wailing sound. A Duskull suddenly appeared before Alex, floating before him, though it looked a bit odd. It seemed the Duskull was floating somewhat upside down as it observed Alex with a curious, ghostly gaze, the unnatural light inside its skull shimmering between the two empty eye sockets. It just floated there, remaining strangely upside down as if waiting to see how Alex reacted. As the wild pokemon wailed in its low tone, Alex stopped walking at once and tensed his eyes. He rolled his eyes left and right slowly, and then turned his head left and right looking for the source of the strange noise.
Then, as the Duskull appeared, he could felt his heart suddenly pounded quickly. He does not like ghosts, paranormal stuff, and other supernatural things like that. Even if they are pokemon. But knowing that he was in the safari zone, he cowardly took a few step back and kept his eyes on the floating skull pokemon. With one hand reaching toward his back, he grabbed a safari ball and tossed it... Hopefully these things can stop creeping him in broad daylight.

A flash of light engulfs the Pokemon, sucking it inside the blue and white orb. Snapping shut, the Safari Ball falls to the ground. Alex waits in anticipation as the Pokeball rocks on the ground, the wild Pokemon struggling to escape. ... The Pokeball twitches once... ... Twice... But the ball explodes open in a blinding flash of light as the Pokemon breaks free! The Duskull puffed up angrily, glaring at the halves of the destroyed Safari Ball with its sole red eye. It huffed in irriration, waving its ethereal hands at the Pokeball and tossing the orbs aside with its psychic powers. As the ball pieces flew through the air, they disintegrated, the dust blowing off in the desert wind and leaving no trace of the item. With the offending item gone, the Duskull turned its attention back to Alex. While it was slightly annoyed, the ghost still stuck around, drifting aimlessly through the air and flipping back over to hang upside down in the air before the trainer.
